Grandi soddisfazioni per Zanardi Strakka Racing, con un
Daniel Ticktum da podio
Alla prima gara della stagione WSK 2014 Chiesa Corse è subito
protagonista: l’International Circuit La Conca promuove la
squadra corse Zanardi Stakka Racing con il secondo posto di
Daniel Ticktum nella WSK Champions Cup.
KFJ
Ticktum Daniel
Il pilota inglese parte subito in testa, ma nella prima manche taglia troppo
una chicane e rompe la catena. L’imprevisto, che lo fa scivolare al 26°
posto, non scoraggia Daniel, che negli scontri successivi mette a segno
una vittoria, un 4° e un 2° posto. La rincorsa verso le prime file continua
anche in prefinale (B), in cui riesce a fare un gran balzo dalla quinta
alla seconda posizione. In finale, dopo qualche giro di assestamento,
Ticktum conferma la seconda posizione che manterrà caparbiamente
fino alla fine. Alla fine, quindi, arriva un meritatissimo 2° posto, che
conferma le ottime condizioni che il pilota aveva dimostrato anche la
scorsa settimana alla Winter Cup.
Marta Garcia
Risultati positivi per Marta Garcia Lopez, che dimostra velocità
e capacità di gestire bene una gara segnata dalle condizioni
metereologiche (pista bagnata alternata ad asfalto asciutto). Negli scontri
diretti guadagna il 13° posto e nella sua prefinale (B) resta sempre tra
i primi dieci. Sulla griglia di partenza della finale è 21^, purtroppo resta
coinvolta in un incidente che le fa perdere posizioni e chiude al 24°
posto.suo esordio si conferma comunque positivo.
Luca Legeret
Buone anche le prestazioni del pilota svizzero che, arrivando dalla 60
Mini, è alla sua seconda gara nella categoria KFJ. Nella sua prefinale (B)
riesce a guadagnare due posizioni. In finale è 13° sulla griglia di partenza,
ma uno sfortunato problema tecnico al motore gli fa perdere mezzo giro.
Difficile recuperare quando si resta nelle retrovie: Legeret chiuderà 31°.
KF
Tom Joyner
Il Campione del Mondo in carica ottiene una vittoria e un 4° e 7° posto
alle manche di qualificazione, così da risultare 3° alla partenza della sua
prefinale (B). Sulla griglia della finale è in 7° posizione. Qui lo scontro si fa
durissimo con una serie di sorpassi mozzafiato. Joyner riesce a mettere
a segno alcuni bei sorpassi e si posiziona 5° in finale, portando a casa
punti importanti e la certezza di potere fare sempre meglio.
Callum Ilott
Il pilota inglese parte 2° nella sua prefinale (B) dopo degli scontri diretti senza
problemi (3°, 3°, 5°). Nonostante per un contatto scivoli 16°, Ilott mette a
segno una gara entusiasmante, rimontando ben 11 posizioni e facendo
registrare il giro più veloce della gara. Sulla griglia della finale è 9°. A metà
corsa riesce a balzare in avanti portandosi fino alla 4° posizione e mettendo
a segno nuovamente il giro più veloce. Chiuderà 6° dopo un’avvincente
serie di sorpassi, giusto dietro il compagno di squadra Joyner.
Petru Florescu
Sfortunatissima fatalità accaduta a Petru Florescu, che ancora in fase di
rodaggio del motore subisce un brutto incidente causato da un kart fuori
controllo che lo centra frontalmente. Il pilota, subito soccorso e trasportato
in ospedale, ha riportato una frattura doppia, tibia e perone, a entrambe le
gambe. Tutto il team gli fa i migliori auguri di buona e pronta guarigione.
KZ2
Rick Dreezen
Ottima gara per Rick Dreezen, la sua prima dell’anno e, soprattutto, la
prima con Zanardi dopo quattro anni di gare con altro materiale. Il pilota
belga dimostra di trovarsi subito a proprio agio con i nuovi colori. Supera
senza difficoltà le manche di qualificazione e in prefinale dalla metà della
classifica (16°) si porta al 7° posto. In finale lo scontro è agguerritissimo
ed è bravo a chiudere 6°.

Great satisfaction for Zanardi Strakka Racing, with Daniel
Ticktum on the podium
Chiesa Corse begins the 2014 WSK season as a star player: the
Zanardi Stakka Racing team conquers a WSK Champions Cup
podium with Daniel Ticktum’s second place finish on the La
Conca International Circuit.
KFJ
Ticktum Daniel
The English driver takes off in the lead, but in heat one he cuts a chicane
too tight and breaks his chain. Despite his drop to 26th place, Daniel keeps his hopes up and goes on to collect a victory plus 4th and 2nd place
in the following heats. His rush towards the front rows continues in the
pre-final (B), where he jumps up from fifth to second place. In the final,
after a couple of warm-up laps, he ensures his position as the runner-up
and defends it until the finish-line.
Ticktum closes the weekend with a well-deserved podium that confirms
the excellent signs he had already given the previous week at the Winter
Cup.
Marta Garcia
Positive weekend also for Marta Garcia Lopez, who displays speed and
good race management abilities even in challenging weather conditions
(with the track alternating between wet and dry). In the heats she places
13th and in her pre-final (B) keeps in the top ten the whole time. In the
final she starts from 21st place, but soon after is involved in an accident
that pushes her back: she closes 24th.
Luca Legeret
At his second race in KFJ after his move up from the 60 Mini, the Swiss
driver also does well. In the pre-final (B) he moves up two spots and he
is 13th on grid for the final. Here, unfortunately an engine issue costs him
half a lap and once in the rear it becomes tough for him to rise back up:
Legeret ends the race 31st.

Tom Joyner
In the heats the defending world champion collects a victory, plus 4th
and 7th place, which translate into 3rd place on grid for the pre-final (B).
Seventh at the start of the final, Joyner joins a heated battle marked by
breathtaking exchanges and succeeds at several overtakes. He ends the
race in 5th place, going home with valuable points and the certainty that
he can do even better.
Callum Ilott
The English driver starts the pre-final (B) from 2nd place, after problemfree heats (twice 3rd and 5th). Despite a contact that drops him down
to 16th place, Ilott completes an exhilarating race, slicing up eleven
positions and scoring the fastest lap of the race. He starts the final from
9th on grid at mid race manages to pounce up to 4th, again driving the
best lap. After a riveting exchange of passes, Ilott crosses the finish-line
6th, right behind Joyner.
Petru Florescu
The race has barely started when Petru Florescu is involved in a very
unfortunate head-on collision, as a rival loses control and crashes into
him. The hospital confirms a double bone fracture in both his legs. The
team is wishing him a speedy recovery.

Rick Dreezen
Rick Dreezen does great at his first event of the season and his first race
back on Zanardi chassis after four years with other material. The Belgian
wastes no time to show his comfort with the new team colors: he gets
through the heats without difficulty and in the pre-final he climbs up from
mid-field (16th) all the way to 7th place. In the final, Dreezen keeps up
with the intense battle and does a great job of closing 6th.
