Wines from the heart of Italy at the Russian Bar Fair 2011
23.06.2011
Two tastings of wines from Spinelli wineries (Abruzzo region), which are not yet represented on the Russian
market, took place on June 16-17, within the frames of Russian Bar Fair 2011 exhibition, organized by the
Asti Group exhibition company and the National Barmen Association of Russia (BAR).
The events were conducted by the director of “Wine & Food Made in Italy” project Giorgio Valentino and
export manager of “Cantine Spinelli” Andrea Lucisano. Moderator – Director of Independent Wine Club
Dmitry Fedotov.
Spinelli winery started to produce wine in 1973. The land on which the grapes are grown, stretches from the
hills Frentane (colline Frentane) to the town Sangro in the Province of Chieti.
This area is recognized in Italy as one of the most suitable for grapes growing.
The company’s slogan: «Una famiglia, la sua terra, il suo vino» is
translated as: "The family, native land, own wine." This is fully consistent
with the strategy of the company, which pays great attention to the
history and traditions of the Abruzzo winemakers. The success is
obvious - Spinelli wines many times won gold medals at international
wine competitions and most of them are exported to more than 20
countries.
"We live on a land lying outside the Maiella mountain range and the sea
and has long ago understood that good wine comes only from the
knowledge and love
for the native land.
Technical progress
can only help to
improve the quality of
the crop, but in the
end, it all depends on
raw materials. It is
necessary to learn all
this, listening to the
wine, regardless of
time and fashion trends "- say Spinelli winemakers.
All the wines presented at the tastings were made in the
"heart of Italy" - a unique enogastronomic Abruzzo
region, in which all four conditions needed to create
wines are concentrated: wind, water, fire and earth. Abruzzo
produces a variety of red and white wines, which can be
combined with the products of fishing and agriculture.

Giorgio Valentino and Andrea Lucisano expressed their hope that the unique wines of Spinelli winery will
soon appear in Russia where they will find their admirers and will be appreciated both by professionals and
by ordinary consumers. It makes the company very interested in close cooperation with the Russian
importers. At the stand of the company “Wine & Food Made in Italy”, which presents Spinelli wines in
Russia, it was possible to taste not only wines, but also coffee “Cortese” and water “Costella”. It will be
possible to taste all these drinks from 17 to 19 November 2011 in Moscow in the Crocus Expo at the
International Exhibition "Drinks Industry / Russian Wine Fair 2011", where the company “Wine & Food Made
in Italy” will continue to acquaint the professionals of wine market and amateurs with quality Italian wines
from other wine regions of the country.
