The 2007 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is a beautiful, sexy
red laced with perfumed fruit, dried flowers, menthol and
hints of licorice, all of which seem to float on the palate with
remarkable grace. The overall impression is one of
silkiness, with sweet, refined tannins that frame the fruit to
the finish. The warm, radiant quality of the vintage is on full
display. This is an absolutely fabulous bottle of Vino Nobile.

The 2006 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Nocio dei Boscarelli
is vibrant, wonderfully alive and bursting with fruit. Dark
cherries, flowers, minerals, spices and French oak are just
some of the nuances that emerge in the glass. The finish is
utterly impeccable in its freshness and crystalline purity.
Today the 2006 Nocio dei Boscarelli is very young, but all of
the elements are in place for this to develop into a splendid
wine. In a word: superb. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2022.

The 2005 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva is the most
obvious of these new releases. Here the French oak is felt
in the wine’s volume, tannin and sweetness. There is just
enough intensity in the fruit to counter the oak, but just
barely. Dark red cherries, French oak, sweet spices and
new leather linger on the finish in this powerful youthful
Riserva. The quality and sheer pedigree of the fruit is so
beautiful, one can only wonder what this bottling might taste
like with less makeup. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2025.
