Curriculum del coro
Il Coro “Sette Laghi” (coro a voci pari maschili fondato a Varese nel 1963 e attualmente composto
da 38 elementi) ha ottenuto in breve tempo ampi riconoscimenti classificandosi al primo posto in
alcuni tra i più importanti concorsi nazionali di canto corale ad ispirazione popolare. Ha cantato in
molte città italiane e partecipato a numerosi Festival corali. Per “Gioventù Musicale Italiana” ha
tenuto concerti nella Sala Grande del Conservatorio “Giuseppe Verdi” di Milano ed in altre
prestigiose sedi. Ha cantato in Svizzera, Francia, Germania, Belgio, Olanda, Danimarca ed è stato
invitato negli Stati Uniti d’America dove ha compiuto tre tournee tenendo concerti all’Università di
New York (Staten Island), a Denver, Boulder, Pueblo, San Francisco, Santa Rosa. Per le case
discografiche “Ricordi” di Milano e “SMC” di Ivrea ha inciso su CD parte del suo repertorio.
Nel 1990, quale riconoscimento alla sua attività artistica, la “Famiglia Bosina” di Varese gli ha
conferito la “Girometta d’Oro”.
Il repertorio del coro è prevalentemente indirizzato verso canti di tradizione o di ispirazione
popolare in lingua italiana (spesso nei vari dialetti) armonizzati o composti da musicisti di chiara
fama. Comprende alcuni brani del repertorio classico di autori quali Schubert e Poulenc.
Oltre ai normali concerti non tematici ha prodotto un concerto dal titolo “18 canzoni per una storia
d’uomo”, con testi di Roberto Piumini e, con testi di autori vari, un concerto interamente dedicato
alla vita in montagna. Sempre integrandolo con testi di vari autori propone inoltre da alcune stagioni
un concerto dedicato al Natale rivissuto attraverso 18 canti popolari.
Da oltre 30 anni si avvale della preziosa collaborazione del maestro Angelo Mazza del quale ha
eseguito ed esegue tuttora numerose composizioni ed armonizzazioni.
The “Sette Laghi” is a 38 singer male choir founded in Varese in 1963. In a short time from its
foundation, the choir won many choir contests for choirs singing folk music. The choir sung in
many cities throughout Italy and took part in many Festivals. The musical society “Gioventù
Musicale Italiana” invited the choir for a series of concerts in many prestigious locations, among
which the “Sala Grande” of the Milan Conservatorium is the most outstanding. The choir sung in
many places throughout Europe, since it visited Switzerland, France, Germany, Belgium,
Netherlands, Denmark and was invited in the United States of America which were visited in three
tours. During such tours in the US, the choir sung at the University of New York (Staten Island
Campus), Denver, Boulder, Pueblo, Santa Rosa, San Francisco.
The choir recorded two CDs sponsored by “Ricordi” from Milan and “SMC” from Ivrea recording
studios.
The repertoire collects mainly Italian folk songs, either original or inspired, in the Italian language
(more often sung in dialects). Harmonization and music are mainly written by valuable Italian
musicians. The repertoire contains also songs by Schubert and Poulenc.
During the years the choir has produced both usual concerts (meaning a collection of songs with no
particular relationship to one another) and “thematic concerts”. Three are the themes developed:
the first is called “18 songs for the story of a man” in which songs are placed close by to poems by
Roberto Piumini, another theme concerts is dedicated to the Mountain and its way of living (in this
concerts readings are taken from different authors) and a third concert dedicated to Christmas.
30 years ago a precious collaboration with Angelo Mazza started; the choir has sung, and still does,
many songs and harmonization written by our dear friend Angelo.
