My year started off with the flu, so I am hoping for health and happiness too! We have a lot of exciting things coming up. First, we started “Vatican Two (Re)views” on Tuesday evenings at 7:30 pm in the Parish Center. This coming week Father Gabriel will present a summary of the history of the sessions of the Council with an overview of the sixteen documents of the Council. Next weekend, the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul will present to Saint Patrick and Saint Rocco the possibility of starting anew the Conference for Glen Cove. The previous Conference ran into a number of challenges, which have been resolved, and now, during the Year of Mercy, it seems opportune to inquire among the faithful whether there is an interest to care for Christ in the destitute through spiritual and corporal works of mercy. If you are interested, you can learn more about the Society at an informational meeting on Thursday, January 14th at 7:30 pm at the Parish Center of St Rocco. The conference leader can be reached by email at [email protected] or by leaving a telephone message at Saint Rocco or Saint Patrick. Also, I want to encourage you to be praying for the Parish Planning Process and look forward to the opportunities, which the committee puts forth for your participation. Finally, I would like to thank those who helped make the Christmas celebrations special this year. In particular, I would like to highlight the exceptional Christmas Concert, which Maureen put together. The program was outstanding and impressive. I print it here for your consideration. I was truly moved by the scope and variety of Christmas music and look forward to other concerts, which showcase the musical patrimony of our Church.
