WHY
The trip closely supports and supplements the work currently
beingundertakenonIrishLiteratureandHistory.
Students will do a back-stage tour of the Abbey Theatre. The
theatre was set up by W.B. Yeats and Lady Gregory in 1904 and
was the focus of the Irish Literary Revival which is the primary
focusforourcurrentunit.
Wewillalsoseeaproductionof“Othello”attheAbbeyTheatrea
playbeingstudiedbythestudents.
OurtourwillalsovisitTrinityCollegeandthe‘OldLibrary’toview
theBookofKells.
WewillvisitIreland’sNationalLibrarytoseeanexhibitiononthe
life and works of W.B.Yeats followed by a visit to the Dublin
Writers’ Museum to view the James Joyce Centre - a museum
dedicatedtopromotinganunderstandingofthelifeandwordsof
JamesJoyce.
We will have an evening writing workshop with a popular Irish
authorattheDublinWriter’sCentre.
We will also explore Irish legend, music and mythology at the
historicBrazenHeadInn.

Il programma del viaggio è strettamente collegato ai contenuti
del percorso educativo attualmente in corso sulla letteratura e
storiaIrlandese.
Gli studenti faranno un tour dietro le quinte del Teatro Abbey,
cheèstatoistituitodaW.B.YeatsedaLadyGregorynel1904ed
era il punto focale della “Irish Literary Revival”, attuale
argomentodellanostraunità.
Assisteremo allo spettacolo teatrale presso il Abbey Theatre
intitolato “Othello” basato sul romanzo che gli studenti stanno
attualmenteleggendoinclasse.
