La storia della «Caserma 57», un’installazione
militare costruita dai sovietici a 10 km a nordest
di Kabul, testimone attiva degli ultimi trent’anni
di storia afgana, ospitando truppe di occupazione russe, truppe irregolari afgane inquadrate nell’Alleanza del Nord e reparti dei contingenti italiani, greci e norvegesi, nonchè personale ungherese, turco, romeno, belga e di altri Paesi, nell’ambito della missione ISAF.

Here is the history of the "Barracks 57," a military installation built by the Soviets ten
kilometers northeast of Kabul and an active witness to the last thirty years of Afghan history. It has been hosting Russian occupation troops, Afghan irregular troops assigned to
the Northern Alliance and units of Italian, Greek and Norwegian contingents, as well as
Hungarian, Turkish, Rumanian, Belgian and other countries' personnel, as part of the
ISAF mission.
