Il contesto economico,
le costruzioni e
la meccanica nel 2013
La recessione economica in Italia
nel 2013 ha colpito ulteriormente
il settore delle costruzioni e
della meccanica i cui consumi
interni al Paese si sono riportati
rispettivamente agli anni ’70 e ’90
del precedente secolo. L’impiego
dell’acciaio si è ridotto del 50%
dall’anno record 2007.

Decisamente migliorati invece sono
i risultati riportati dalle esportazioni,
in particolare la meccanica e
l’impiantistica e di quella parte delle costruzioni che riguarda le
ristrutturazioni.
Il primo trimestre dell’anno in corso registra con sollievo la fine
della recessione e l’avvio, seppur timido, verso una lenta ripresa,
caratterizzata tuttavia dal rischio di deflazione. Ci si avvia perciò ad
un esercizio di transizione aperto per i prossimi anni, finalmente,
alle opportunità di crescita principalmente rivolte all’estero.
In questo contesto il Gruppo Manni ha voluto intensificare ogni
sforzo per ottimizzare e sviluppare le risorse umane interne,
vero driver del cambiamento, imposto dal crollo dei consumi ed
orientato ai seguenti obiettivi: sviluppo di nicchie di qualità, adozione
di tecnologie, apertura a nuovi mercati esteri.
Risultati e sviluppi
Il Gruppo Manni ha mantenuto elevati gli investimenti per oltre 6,6
milioni di euro e gli addetti con 868 unità (circa 1.000 considerando
anche gli indiretti). Il fatturato pari a € 444 milioni si riduce del 5%
in ragione della diminuzione dei costi delle materie prime, ma si
mantiene inalterato per i volumi di prodotti venduti. Quest’ultima
circostanza è particolarmente significativa dell’efficienza aziendale
in considerazione del calo dei consumi di circa il 15%.
Si registra un risultato finale netto positivo pari a € 1.283.067,
ottenuto nonostante le incerte condizioni economico/finanziarie,
rendendo il Gruppo fiducioso per il futuro carico di nuovi importanti
impegni, che affronterà assieme ai propri collaboratori orientati a
vincere le sfide prefissate.
Economic background,
construction and
mechanics in 2013
The economic recession in Italy in 2013 further hit the
construction and mechanical engineering industry with internal
sales in Italy dropping back to levels of the 1970’s and 1990’s
respectively. Steel consumption fell by 50% from the record
year of 2007.
On the other hand export statistics have greatly improved, in
particular mechanical and plant engineering and the area of
construction relative to restructuring.
It is a relief that the first quarter of the current year has shown
the end of the recession, and the start of a shy recovery
characterised nevertheless by the risk of deflation. We are
therefore starting up a year of transition that is finally open,
over the next few years, to growth opportunities primarily
aimed at abroad.
It is in this context that Gruppo Manni wanted to intensify
all its efforts to optimise and develop its internal human
resources, the true drivers of change, determined by the
fall in consumption and aimed at the following objectives:
development of specialised qualities, adoption of technologies,
opening up to new foreign markets.
Results and developments
Gruppo Manni has kept investments high with a total of over
6.6 million Euros and a staff of 868 (approx. 1.000 considering
the indirect workforce). The turnover of € 444 million fell
by 5% due to the decrease in the cost of raw materials, but
remains unchanged in the volume of products sold. This latter
circumstance is particularly significant in view of the company’s
efficiency and its decline in consumptions of about 15%.
There is a final net profit of € 1.283.067, this result was achieved
despite the uncertain economic/financial conditions, making
the Group confident about the future burden of major new
commitments that will be addressed along with its employees,
who are geared to meet the challenges fixed.

Anni ’40 e ‘50. Gli inizi.
Il fondatore Luigi Manni inizia nel dopoguerra l’attività di
commercio di rottami e recuperi metallici.
1940s and 50s. The beginning.
Postwar Luigi Manni founds a company dedicated to the sale
of salvaged materials and steel industry products.
Anni ’60. La trasformazione dell’attività
ad opera di Giuseppe Manni.
Lo sviluppo inizia negli anni Sessanta, sotto la guida di
Giuseppe Manni. L’azienda si evolve nella Manni Prodotti
Siderurgici (1960) per il commercio di prodotti siderurgici
in concomitanza con la nascente produzione siderurgica
nazionale.
Nel 1969 trasferimento in ZAI e sviluppo dell’attività di
commercio di travi laminate, profilati e tubi, mutando la
denominazione in Manni Siderurgica.

Development begins in the 1960s under the management
of Giuseppe Manni who transforms the original business.
The company evolves into Manni Prodotti Siderurgici (1960),
which is established for the trade of steel products of the
nascent domestic steel production. In 1969 it moves to the
industrial area of Verona (ZAI) and develops the business in
standard and special beams, sections and hollow sections
under the name of Manni Siderurgica.
Anni ’70 e ’80. L’attività industriale.
Gli anni Settanta e i primi anni Ottanta segnano l’inizio
dell’attività industriale: a Mozzecane (Verona) viene costituita
la Sipre (1972), primo centro servizi di prelavorazione di
travi laminate in Italia, mentre a Crema vengono acquisite le
Officine Riunite dei F.lli Lancini (1980). Esordisce nel 1987 il
secondo centro di prelavorazione travi a Crema. Da questo
momento per il Gruppo comincia una fortunata crescita:
vengono acquisite la Isopan di Frosinone (1988) per la
produzione di pannelli metallici coibentati e la Commerciale
Siderurgica Veronese (1993).
1970s and 80s. The industrial activity.
The 1970s and the early 1980s represent the beginning of
industrial activity: in Mozzecane (Verona) Sipre (1972),the first
steel service center in Italy for fabricated beams is founded,
while in Crema Officine Riunite of F.lli Lancini are acquired
(1980): in 1987 they become the second beam service
center. From this moment for the Group begins a series of
acquisitions in rapid succession and the Group begins a period
of strong growth. Isopan in Frosinone (1988), a company
producing insulating metallic panels is acquired, followed by
Commerciale Siderurgica Veronese (1993).

Nasce il Gruppo Manni SpA (1995), holding industriale
che incorpora la Siderfinanziaria Spa (creata nel 1986).
Viene costituita la società Icom Engineering (1996) per la
progettazione e la fornitura “chiavi in mano” di strutture
metalliche rivolte prevalentemente all’export.

Gruppo Manni SpA is born (1995), an industrial holding
company that incorporates Siderfinanziaria Spa (founded
in 1986). Icom Engineering is established (1996), designing
and supplying turnkey metallic structures mainly aimed for
export.
Dal 2000 al 2009. Il nuovo assetto finanziario.
L’internazionalizzazione. Inizio attività inox.
Nel 2000 nasce la nuova holding industriale Gruppo Manni Hp SpA
che delibera il progetto di “europeizzazione” delle principali
società: lo stabilimento di produzione di pannelli metallici
isolanti, Isopan Ibérica in Spagna (2001) e l’apertura di
Sipre France (2002). In Italia viene acquisita un’importante
partecipazione in Malavolta SpA (2001) azienda generalista e
centro servizi travi in centro Italia. Nel 2002 viene avviato un
altro stabilimento Isopan a Trevenzuolo (Verona).
Seguono ancora:
-l’apertura nel 2007 a Bucarest (Romania) di Isopan Est;
-l’acquisizione del centro servizi coils Eurosider di Verona
(2006) successivamente trasformato nel settore dell’acciaio
Inox: C.S.I. - Centro Servizi Inox (nel 2008);
-l’acquisizione di una partecipazione in CMM (2006);
-l’apertura (2008) a Jesi (Ancona) di un nuovo magazzino
generalista Malavolta;
-l’avvio a Goito (Mantova) di un Centro Manni Sipre per
l’attività di vendita prodotti lunghi ai commercianti (2008).
From 2000s to 2009. New financial asset.
Internationalisation. Start of stainless steel
activity.
In 2000 a new industrial holding, Gruppo Manni Hp SpA, is
created. Its first action is the approval of an “Europeanisation”
project of its main operational companies:a production plant
for insulating metal panels, Isopan Ibérica is set up (2001),
followed by the inauguration of Sipre France (2002). In Italy,
Manni acquires an important participation in Malavolta SpA
(2001), a generalist company and beam service centre in
central Italy. In 2002 a new Isopan production plant is set up
in Trevenzuolo (Verona). There are also the following steps:
-the opening in 2007 of Isopan Est in Bucarest (Romania);
-the takeover of coils service center Eurosider in Verona
(2006), subsequently transformed in the stainless steel
sector with C.S.I. Stainless Service Center (in 2008);
-the acquisition of a participation in CMM (2006);
-the opening (2008) in Jesi (Ancona) of a new Malavolta
generalist warehouse;
-the creation of a Manni Sipre center in Goito (Mantua) for
sales of long products for stockholders (2008).

Dal 2010 al 2011.
Riorganizzazione ed apertura al fotovoltaico.
Viene aperto a Mozzecane (2010) un nuovo grande stabilimento
che ospita le attività trasferite dai due centri di Verona e il centro
servizi tubi strutturali. Si inaugura Manni Energy (2011), società
che offre sistemi fotovoltaici chiavi in mano comprensivi sia dei
prodotti che dei servizi.

La missione del Gruppo Manni è il soddisfacimento dei
bisogni del Cliente coniugato a quello dei collaboratori e della
proprietà, in un contesto di sviluppo economico sostenibile e
duraturo in una visione internazionale.
The mission of Gruppo Manni is to meet needs of the
Customer along with the satisfaction of employees’ needs
within a context of sustainable and long-term economic
development in an international perspective.
Questo ambizioso obiettivo coinvolge tanto il management
quanto i collaboratori a gestire l’azienda con una visione carica
di significati, ideali ed orizzonti capaci di superare le difficoltà
per orientare la strategia a risultati duraturi nel tempo.

coworkers to manage the company with meaningful vision,
ideals and perspectives that can overcome the difficulties

Se la missione rappresenta la “direzione di marcia” che
l’azienda si propone di seguire, la strategia è l’insieme delle

risulta quello attuale.

L’innovazione di processo e di prodotto, la riduzione dei costi,
l’allargamento dei mercati e la crescente professionalità
dei collaboratori, sono la risposta adeguata per poter
conseguire il successo nella situazione odierna, che impone
di raggiungere un sempre più difficile vantaggio competitivo.
The innovation of process and product, reducing costs, the
expansion of markets and increasing professionalism of the
employees, are the appropriate response in order to achieve
success in today’s situation, which requires to achieve an
increasingly difficult competitive advantage.
La valorizzazione delle Risorse Umane è da sempre un punto
di forza ed eccellenza del Gruppo Manni. Le attività produttive
svolte hanno consentito, non senza sacrificio, il mantenimento
elevato della forza lavoro: l’esercizio 2013 chiude con un
organico di 868 dipendenti contro gli 883 del 2012.
Si considera pertanto, fortemente strategico sul piano sociale,
il raggiungimento di questo risultato.

a strength and excellence of Gruppo Manni; the production
activities have allowed, but not without sacrifice the
maintenance high labor force: the Group ends year 2013 with

Il business
Il Gruppo Manni Hp svolge attività industriali nel campo
siderurgico e nei business degli elementi prelavorati in acciaio,
componenti e sistemi strutturali per costruzioni ed impianti
di diversi settori. Gruppo Manni significa anche produzione di
pannelli metallici isolanti per coperture e pareti, destinati alle
costruzioni sia civili che industriali e realizzazione di impianti
fotovoltaici, eolici e biogas chiavi in mano.
Il Gruppo opera con un centro di prelavorazione inox.
The business
Gruppo Manni Hp conducts industrial activities in the iron
and steel industry and in the business of pre-processed
steel elements, components and structural systems for
constructions and plants in various sectors. Gruppo Manni Hp
also means: production of insulating metal panels for roofs
and walls, designed for both civil and industrial constructions;
realization of “turnkey” PV, wind and biogas systems.
The Group operates with a stainless steel pre-processing
center.
I numeri di una vera leadership

all’estero realizzando all’incirca:
-400.000 tonnellate all’anno di prodotti siderurgici lavorati e
distribuiti;
-12.000.000 di mq all’anno di pannelli metallici isolanti
prodotti e distribuiti in Italia e all’estero;
-850 dipendenti diretti e oltre 1.000 con gli indiretti;
-450.000.000 di euro di fatturato annuale;
-8.000 clienti.

La distribuzione geografica
La visione strategica con cui si sviluppa l’attività prevede
un’articolata distribuzione geografica nazionale ed
internazionale.
Il Gruppo è presente in Europa con 3 stabilimenti di produzione
Isopan e con uffici commerciali in altri 3 paesi europei e nord
Africani.
Inoltre è prevista l’apertura di produzioni di pannelli in Russia
e Messico.
Geographical distribution
The strategic vision with which the business has been
developed calls for an articulated geographical distribution in
the national and international territories.
The Group is present in Europe with 3 Isopan production
plants and with sales offices in 3 other European and North
African countries.
It is also planned the opening of production plants Isopan in
Russia and Mexico.

The Stainless Steel Service Centre offers high quality
products and processing while guaranteeing maximum
flexibility of services and attention to the needs of every
customer. The development achieved through the constant
improvement of productive processes, the quantity of
material ready for delivery from the warehouse, together
with efficient service, thanks to the management’s great
experience and the assistance of highly qualified personnel,
have made the C.S.I. an important point of reference today
for Italian and European traders and end users.
The warehouse is equipped with different stainless steel
products available at stock such as: round and square
profiles, angles, flat bars, rectangular, square and welded
round tubes, standard sheets and quarto plates. After the
flattening of sheets, C.S.I. can offer other services and
surface treatments such as: polishing, marbling, grinding,
brushing and duplo. During year 2014, C.S.I. will invest in
the hot rolling processing of steel coils.

leading role in the research conducted by Isopan.
The product range is particularly extensive as to the
panels used for the public construction (Isodomus),

da G.M. Immobilia è rappresentato da oltre 611.000 m2 di
cui circa 200.000 m2 coperti e 10.000 m2 di uffici.
Le soluzioni costruttive adottate con l’impiego dei prodotti
e dei servizi del Gruppo sono esempi di costruzioni
metalliche industriali rivestite da pannelli isolanti a
disposizione delle visite dei clienti.
Sono stati installati impianti fotovoltaici su coperture di
stabilimenti G.M. Immobilia a beneficio delle aziende che
li occupano e dell’ambiente poiché il complesso degli
impianti consente un risparmio di emissioni di CO2 in
atmosfera pari a oltre 6.000 tonnellate/anno.
Durante l’esercizio 2013 è stato affittato l’immobile di
Padova ad uso direzionale.

the Business Units of the Group.
The Group real estate portfolio managed by G.M. Immobilia
