Confession Time – The regular times for confessions have been moved. It is now 3:00 – 3:45 to make it possible for the same priest to hear confessions and offer the 4 p.m. Mass. This saves the parish the cost of bringing in a second priest. Please let me know if there would be other times that might work better for confessions. I am open to suggestions. 2. The Confessional – In this day and age, it is not prudent for a priest to be in a confessional with a penitent. For this reason, confessions in the church will only be through the screen. For those who cannot kneel, a small stool is provided on which to sit. If you wish a face-toface confession, please call the office to make an appointment. 3. Requiem Mass - On Tuesday, July 19th at 7:30 p.m. at St. Patrick’s a Requiem Mass will be offered for the repose of the soul of His Imperial Highness, Archduke of Austria, Otto von Habsburg. This great Catholic statesman exemplified the virtues of a man who wished to serve God with a view to the common good. As Canons of Klosterneuburg, we have a particular responsibility to pray for deceased members of the House of Austria, the Habsburgs. You are all welcome to pray with us in Latin and hear the readings and homily in English. The Mass will be accompanied by a selection of Gregorian chant. 4. St. Rocco’s Feast - With the feast approaching us, I want to thank all the members of the committee who have labored intensively to make this year’s feast a wonderful celebration of faith, food and family. On Monday July 25th, there will be a special Mass for the feast workers at 7:00 p.m. On Tuesday the feast will open with a Mass at 6:30 p.m. The celebrant will be the Prior of the Canonry of St. Leopold, Father Daniel, pastor of St. Patrick. On the three evenings to follow, the canons will celebrate Evening Prayer with Exposition and Solemn Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament at 6:30 p.m. On Wednesday evening, His Excellency, Bishop William Murphy, will preside at Vespers. The feast concludes on Sunday, July 31, with a bilingual celebration of the Eucharist at 10:15 and then the procession through the neighborhood of St. Rocco. God bless you, Father Elias Carr, Can.Reg. William Murphy, presiederà i Vespri.
