Note per il Direttore d'Orchestra
Si consiglia vivamente di ascoltare la versione originale per pianoforte più volte (se
non l'avete mai sentita) con la partitura orchestrale alla mano.
Informatevi sul come e il perchè sia stata composta. Si asupica che prima di
affrontare l'opera si sappiano almeno le cose principali della vita di Mussorgskij e
del Gruppo dei Cinque. Compito principale del Direttore d'Orchestra è, di
conseguenza, trasmettere ai propri orchestrali il senso e il climax dell'opera, per
così poter dare il meglio di se stessi nell'interpretazione.

- Dispute di bimbi che giocano(Allegretto non troppo , capriccioso)
Questo quadro deve aver dato a Mussorgskij l'idea di qualcosa di leggero e
grazioso. Tutto il pezzo ha un carattere capriccioso (dei bimbi), ma senza eccessi,
eseguito tutto in 'p' o 'pp' , tranne che da battuta 14 sino al successivo 'p' dove
forse emerge la nostalgia del bambino Mussorgskij (tema dell'infanzia trattato
anche in Baba-Yaga). L'orchestrazione di Ravel in questo punto si avvicina di più a
questa idea di ricordi d'infanzia dell'autore.
OK gente, tiratevi su le maniche che da qui in poi si comincia a non scherzare più.
L'esecuzione deve essere leggera, senza affondare il plettro, scappando via per
cercare di ottenere quel piano senza mai essere pesanti. Importantissime sono le
forcelle dei diminuendo fra una nota e l'altra.
Già eseguendo queste forcelle si impedisce al climax orchestrale di diventare
eccessivo. NON suonate la pausa...
Queste 3 note dei primi (batt. 10) andrebbero tremolate in crescendo. Se ci riuscite
e meglio. La quarta nota è puntata.
Queste pause prima del Meno mosso, legato, espressivo a volte sono tenute
un po' più lunghe, come a sottolineare il cambio di espresssione. Nell'originale
Mussorgskij segna il passaggio solo con un generico termine "espressivo" .
Ho aggiunto per comodità esecutiva e di compressione anche i termini "Meno
mosso" e "legato" .

Notes to the conductor
You are strongly advised to listen to the original piano version several times (if you've never heard
it) with orchestral partiture at hand.
Find out more about how and why was composed. I wish, before dealing with the work, you know
at least the main things in the life of Mussorgsky and the Group of Five. Main task of the conductor
is consequently convey to their orchestral direction and the climax of the work, so to be able to give
the best of themselves in the interpretation.

This picture must be given to Mussorgsky's idea of something light and graceful.
The whole piece has a capricious character (for children), but without excesses,
run around in ' p ' or ' pp ', except from 14 till next keystroke ' p ' where it is the
think Mussorgsky child (theme of childhood treaty also in Baba-Yaga). Ravel's
orchestration here is closest to this idea of the author's childhood memories.
OK boys, but on their sleeves that from here onwards it starts to joke more.
Execution must be lightweight without sink the pick, running away to try to get
that plan without being heavy. Very important are the ranges of decreasing between
a note and another.
Already running these forks prevents the orchestral climax to become excessive.
DON'T play the break ...
These three notes of the first (batt) should be tremolate in crescendo. If
successful, and better. The fourth note you bet.
These breaks first before the Less motivated, legato, expressive sometimes are held
a little bit longer, as the change of expression. In the original Begone marks the
transition only with a generic term "expressive".
I added for convenience and compression also "moved" and Less "tied".
