The BEATOPS
(Electroacoustic Beatle-band)
Interpretare i Beatles dando il feeling giusto all’esecuzione vocale e strumentale non è mai stato tanto semplice.
I Beatops propongono, reinterpretandoli, i brani più belli dei quattro ragazzi di Liverpool ripercorrendo il magico periodo storico “beatlesiano” che va dal 1962 al 1970,
anno in cui il quartetto più famoso del mondo si sciolse.
La musica dei Beatops è entusiasmante! Ve li presentiamo:
ALESSANDRO GIAMBELLI (batteria, percussioni e voce)
Inizia da bambino a suonare la batteria, segue un importante corso di perfezionamento tenuto dal grande Billy Cobham, prosegue poi gli studi con Giovanni Damiani,
grande maestro della scuola di Tullio De Piscopo e poi con Alfredo Golino. Collabora
con diversi gruppi e realizza con gli “0337” il disco “Soliti Guai”. Successivamente costituisce gli Impatto, un gruppo che si scrive le proprie canzoni e partecipa a numerose
trasmissioni televisive tra cui “Help” e “Roxy Bar” condotte da Red Ronnie. Nasce così
il duo acustico “Two Of Us” nel quale Alessandro non è solo percussionista ma anche
“vocalist”.
GIANCARLO PEDRAZZI (chitarra solista e voce)
Oltre ad insegnare teoria e pratica della chitarra, ha collaborato con artisti di livello
mondiale come Al di Meo, Paco de Lucia, Stephen Grossmanne, John Reinbourne.
Numerosissimi i musicisti con cui ha collaborato tra cui i “JB Club”, i “Baby Lonia”, i
“Beatle Smania”, ecc…
ROLANDO GIAMBELLI (chitarra ritmica, armonica e voce)
Fedele cultore dell’arte dei Beatles, ha realizzato in passato composizioni originali e
nel 1968 anche una cover del brano “I’ll Be Back” dei Beatles ribattezzata “Cos’ hai”
inserita in numerose compilation tra le quali: “I favolosi Anni ’60” curata da Red
Ronnie, “Gli italiani cantano i Beatles” curato da Vincenzo Mollica, ecc. Ha suonato
in numerose band fin dal 1995: “Some Souls”, “Club 76”, “Pipers”, “Beatle Smania”, “Two
of Us”… e ora con i Beatops, ecc.
MIMMO SAPONARO (basso e voce)
Bassista storico bresciano, numerosissime le partecipazioni con gruppi musicali. Ha
suonato negli Apostoli, nei Dalton con i quali partecipò al Cantagiro, la memorabile
manifestazione canora dell’epoca. In duo acustico “Giorgio e Mimmo” con Giorgio
Cordini ha registrato un disco molto “gustoso” e… tanto ancora.

Beatops ist eine italienische Gruppe, die sich spezialisiert hat, die Stücke der
Beatles aus den Jahren 1962 bis 1970 so original wie möglich nachzuspielen.
Ihre Musik wird nicht nur die Fans der Beatles begeistern, da diese Gruppe mit
ihrem Auftritt jeden anspricht!
Die Beatops gründeten sich im Jahre ...
Nachstehend stellen wir die einzelnen Mitglieder der Gruppe vor:
ALESSANDRO GIAMBELLI (drums percussions und vocal):
Schon im Kindesalter begeisterte ihn das Schlagzeugspielen. Gelernt hat er seine Fähigkeiten
von Billy Cobham. Auch nahm er an Kursen von Giovanni Damiani und Alfredo Golino
teil. Er gründete die Gruppe Namens “Impatto” und trat mit dieser in Fernsehsendungen wie
“Help” und Roxy Bar auf.
GIANCARLO PEDRAZZI (leadguitar und vocal)
Er ist Gitarrenlehrer und hat bereits mit Al di Meo, Paco de Lucia, Stephen Grossmanne und
John Reinbourne gearbeitet.
ROLANDO GIAMBELLI (rythmguitar und vocal)
Rolando Giambelli ist ein besonders großer Freund der Beatles Musik. Er coverte den Beatles
Song “I’ll be back” in italienischer Sprache. Diese Version findet man auf vielen verschiedenen
CD’s in Italien.
MIMMO SAPONARO (bass und vocal)
Mimmo Saponaro ist ein bekannter Bassist aus Brescia. Er hat in verschiedenen Gruppen, wie
“Apostoli” und “Dalton”, gespielt. Zusammen mit Giorgio Cordini produzierte er ein Album.
In den siebziger Jahren nahm er an dem wichtigsten italienischen Musikwettbewerb teil.
It has never been easy to interpret the Beatles’ songs with just the right kind of
sound. The Beatops propose a reinterpretation of the best known and loved
songs from the golden period of the four boys from Liverpool, from 1962 until
1970, when they broke up. The Beatops music will carry you away!
Here they are:
ALESSANDRO GIAMBELLI (drummer and vocalist)
He began playing the drums when he was a boy and attended an important course with the
great Billy Cobham. He continued his studies with Giovanni Damiani from the Tullio De
Piscopo school, and then with Alfredo Golino.
He has played with many different groups, and made a record with the “0337” called “Soliti
Guai”. After that he created a new group called the “Impatto” and participated in numerous
TV programmes like “Help” and “Roxy Bar” with Red Ronnie, and the duo “Two of Us” in
which he not only played the drums, but also sang.
GIANCARLO PEDRAZZI (solo guitarist and vocalist)
Besides teaching guitar, he has collaborated with internationally known artists such as Al
de Meo, Paco de Lucia, Stephen Grossmanne and John Reinbourne, and groups such as “JB
Club”, “Baby Lonia” and “Beatle Smania”.
ROLANDO GIAMBELLI (rhythmic guitar, harmonica and vocalist)
A faithful Beatle-lover, Giambelli has written many original songs, among them a cover
of “I’ll be Back” in 1968, renamed “Cos’hai”, which has been included in numerous albums
such as “I Favolosi Anni ‘60” and others. He has played with many bands since 1995 such as
“Some Souls”, “Club 76”, “Pipers”, “Beatle Smania”, “Two of Us”, and now with the “Beatops”.
MIMMO SAPONARO (base and vocalist)
A base player from Brescia, Saponaro has played with many musical groups such as the
“Apostoli” and the “Daltons”, with whom he took part in the “Cantagiro”, a memorable tour of
the time. With Giorgio Cordini he has made an album called “Gustoso”.

Tiziana TOSCA Donati nasce a Roma. È in un piano bar romano che
approda alla musica e viene notata da Renzo Arbore.
Nel 1992 esce “Tosca”, il suo primo album e partecipa al Festival di Sanremo nella ca
categoria giovani con il brano “Cosa farà Dio di me”.
L’anno dopo incide il secondo Album dal titolo “Attrice” e prosegue le collaborazioni
eccellenti con Lucio Dalla con il quale duetta nel brano “L’ Amore esiste ancora”, Renato Zero (“Inventi”) fino ad arrivare a Ron con il quale vince il Festival di Sanremo
1996 con il brano “Vorrei incontrarti fra cent’anni”.
Nell’ottobre dello stesso anno è protagonista del “Carro Fantastico” al Teatro della
Scala di Milano.
Nel 1997 partecipa al Festival di Sanremo con il brano “Nel respiro più grande” ed
esce il suo quarto album “Incontri e passaggi” dove interpreta canzoni scritte per lei da
Ennio Morricone, Ivano Fossati e altri. Nello stesso anno vince la targa Tenco come
migliore interprete.
Nel 1998 doppia il cartone animato “Anastasia” insieme a Fiorello e interpreta il ruolo
della protagonista Milly nel musical “Sette spose per sette fratelli”.
Inizia una collaborazione con il Vaticano partecipando a diversi eventi televisivi in
mondovisione per il Giubileo. Viene scelta per interpretare “Mater Iubilaei”, inno
mariano del Giubileo; nel maggio ’99 esegue la preghiera nella grotta di Lourdes. È la
prima cantante al mondo che si esibisce nella grotta.
Per tutto il 2000 porta “Musica Caeli”, un concerto di arie sacre inedite, nelle più grandi chiese e cattedrali straniere e canta “Mater Iubilei” sotto la porta Santa prima della
chiusura di Giovanni Paolo II. Nel 2001 è la protagonista nel musical “Salvatore Giuliano” e nel 2002 recita e canta nello spettacolo “Wozzeck, Lulu, la morte e gli altri”.
Nel 2003 debutta col suo nuovo spettacolo di teatro canzone “Notte in bianco” di cui è
anche autrice, associato all’uscita del suo quinto CD “Sto bene al mondo”.
Tra il 2003 e il 2005 interpreta il ruolo di Jenny delle spelonche ne “L’opera da tre soldi”
di Bertold Brecht e Nadia nel “Tango delle ore piccole” di Manuel Puig.
Nel giugno 2005 debutta con lo spettacolo di teatro-canzone “Romana” omaggio a Gabriella Ferri per la regia di Massimo Venturiello. Con la stessa regia, dal 2006 al 2008
è Lucia nello spettacolo “Gastone” di Ettore Petrolini.
Nel 2007 partecipa al festival di Sanremo con la canzone “Il terzo fuochista”.
Attualmente interpreta Gelsomina nell’adattamento teatrale de “La Strada” tratto dal
film di Federico Fellini.

Sie trat in einer Piano Bar in Rom auf und wurde dort von Renzo Arbore entdeckt.
1992 produzierte sie ihr erstes Album “Tosca”. Sie nahm im gleichen Jahr am Festival in San Remo teil.
Das nächste Album erschien 1993 und im gleichen Jahr sang sie mit Lucio Dalla und
Renato Zero, zwei der Größten in der italienischen Musikszene.
1996 sang sie mit Ron das Duett mit dem Titel “Vorrei incontrarti fra cent’anni” und belegte
damit den Platz 1 des Festivals von San Remo.
Im Oktober 1996 sang sie die Hauptstimme von “Carro Fantastico” im Theater La Scala in
Mailand.
Für das vierte Album wählte sie Lieder, komponiert von Ennio Morricone und Ivano Fossati.
Erwähnenswert ist auch, dass sie mehrmals im Vatikan auftrat und 1999 als erste Sängerin in
der Grotte von Lourdes sang. Des Weiteren sang sie in 2000 die offizielle Hymne des Jubileums
“Mater Iubilaei”.
Sie wirkte bei mehreren Theaterstücke mit, ins besondere zu erwähnen wäre hier die “Dreigroschenoper” von Bertold Brecht.
2007 nimmt sie erneuet am Festival in San Remo mit dem Lied “Il terzo fuochista” teil. Dieser
Titel wurde anschließend ein großer Hit.
Momentan arbeitet sie im Theater in Rom an der Aufführung des ursprünglichen Films “La
Strada” von Federico Fellini.

Tiziana Tosca Donati was born in Rome, and it was in a piano bar there that her
career began when Renzo Arbore heard her for the first time.
In 1992 she made her first album called “Tosca”, after which she sang many duets
with famous artists such as Lucio Dalla, Renato Zero and Ron, with whom she won
the 1996 “Sanremo Festival” with the song “Vorrei incontrarti fra cent’anni”.
In October of the same year she starred in “Carro Fantastico” at Milan’s “La Scala” Theatre.
She took part in the 1997 “Sanremo Festival” with the song “Nel respiro più grande” and released her 4th album “Incontri e passaggi” with songs written by Ennio Morricone, Ivano Fossati and others.
In 1998 she dubbed the cartoon “Anastasia” along with Fiorello and interpreted Milly in the
musical “Seven brides for seven brothers”.
She collaborated with the Vatican during the Jubilee year and was chosen to sing the hymn in
honour of the Virgin Mary “Mater Iubilaei”. She was the first singer to perform in the Lourdes
Grotto.
During the year 2000 she toured the most famous churches and cathedrals in the world with
“Musica Caeli”, a series of unpublished sacred airs and sang “Mater Iubilaei” at the closing of
the Sacred Door by Pope John Paul II. In 2001 she starred in the musical “Salvatore Giuliano”,
and in 2002 acted and sang in “Wozzeck, Lulu, la Morte e gli Altri”.
Between 2003 and 2005 she starred in plays by Bertold Brecht and Manuel Puig.
In 2005 she debuted in “Romana”, a musical dedicated to the memory of Gabriella Ferri, directed by Massimo Venturiello, and from 2006 to 2008 she played Lucia in Ettore Petrolini’s
“Gastone”.
In 2007 she took part in the “Sanremo Festival” with the song “Il terzo fuochista”.
She is now playing Gelsomina in a theatrical adaptation of Federico Fellini’s “La Strada”.
