In January 2014, Luca Avellini, JCI Capital partner, was invited as guest speaker by the
University of California at Berkeley Haas School of Business, to address their 2014 class of
graduates of the Master of Financial Engineering (MFE) program. Topic of the presentation was
“The real world of Asset Management” as seen by someone who has been part of investment
community for the past twenty three years.
The evening prior to the event, MR Avellini was a guest of the Haas School of Business during “
Firm night”, held in the Crystal Ballroomof the hotel Sahttuck Plaza in Berkeley , California, where
he was given an opportunity to introduce JCI Capital to faculty, students and alumni.
According to US News & World Report, the leading provider of reviews of Best Colleges, Best
Graduates Schools and Best Hospitals, in 2014 Haas School of Business ranked number 8 among
the best American business schools (MBA finance), just after Harvard University.
In May 2014, following what has now become a tradition, Mr. Avellini was invited once again by
the Haas School of Business in order to share with the students his experience in the financial
markets in an effort to better prepare them for the real world that awaits upon completion of their
