Che cos’è ECTS – What is ECTS
L’ECTS – acronimo inglese del Sistema Europeo di Trasferimento di Crediti accademici – è stato realizzato
con l’obiettivo di promuovere il riconoscimento accademico degli studi effettuati all’estero. La sua
applicazione, infatti, facilita il riconoscimento dei risultati accademici degli studenti grazie all’uso di misure
comprese da tutti nello stesso modo – i “crediti” e i voti – nonché grazie ad una migliore comprensione dei
sistemi nazionali di istruzione superiore.

ECTS – English acronym of the European transfer system of academic credits – has been put into action to
encourage the way the system abroad works. The application, in effect, is easy for students to familiarize
themselves as the system is the same in many other universities – the credits, and results are understood
thanks to the great international system of higher instruction.
I crediti ECTS – The ECTS credits
Il credito serve a misurare la quantità di lavoro svolto dallo studente: 25 ore di lezione (non solo frontali)
corrispondo ad un credito. Un anno di corso è pari a 60 crediti, suddivisibile in 30 crediti a semestre. Il
concetto di carico di lavoro include tutte le attività svolte dallo studente nel corso dell’anno: partecipazioni
a lezioni, esercitazioni, seminari e studio individuale. I crediti non sono da confondere con i tradizionali voti
di esami. Questi ultimi, infatti, si riferiscono non alla quantità ma alla qualità del lavoro svolto. Il
riconoscimento dei crediti ECTS è basato sul volume di lavoro che uno studente deve svolgere durante il
periodo di permanenza presso l’Istituto di accoglienza. Ogni corso è valutato in crediti e lo studente, nel
formulare il proprio piano di studi, dovrà considerare il numero di crediti assegnati a ciascun corso.

The credits are used to show the quantity of work processed by the student: 25 hours of lessons which
correspond to one credit. A one year course is 60 credits, divided into 30 credits each semester. The load of
work undertaken by the student in the academic year includes: participation in class, practical involvement,
seminars and independent study. The credits are not to be confused with the exam results. In-fact these
are to be referred to the quantity but the quality of the work developed. The ECTS credits are based on the
amount of work that the student has completed during there stay at the welcoming Institution. Each course
gives credits, the student must consider how many credits are given for each course to able to complete
their study programme.
Scala di valutazione – Grading scale
Il risultato dell’esame ottenuto dallo studente è rappresentato da un voto basato sul Sistema nazionale (in
Italia prevede un intervallo da 18 a 30).

The results of the exams passed by Erasmus students are represented by a mark based on a national
system (in Italy from 18 to 30).
Certificato degli esami – Transcript of Records
Il certificato degli esami, in cui sono riportati I dati anagrafici dello studente e il periodo di permanenza
Erasmus, è rilasciato dall’Ufficio Erasmus.
In esso sono indicati:
1) La denominazione degli esami sostenuti;
2) La data in cui è stato sostenuto;
3) Il voto basato sul sistema nazionale (18-30);
4) I crediti ECTS
The Erasmus Office issue the Transcript of Records, that includes the personal data of the student, the
Erasmus period spend and:
1) The name of the exams;
2) The date on which it where passed;
3) The grade as national grade system (18-30);
4) ECTS credit number
