K-culture Festival in Nuova Zelanda
K-culture festival to open in New Zealand
L’ambasciata coreana in Nuova Zelanda ha
annunciato l’organizzazione di un K-culture
festival il 3 luglio nella capitale Wellington. Il
festival si aprira’ con degustazioni di piatti
tradizionali coreani tra cui i rotoli di riso ed alghe
“gimbab” e i pancake di cipolle “pajeon”. Il
festival comprendera’ inoltre esibizioni di abiti
tradizionali coreani, di danze tradizionali e di
Taekwondo. Giunto alla sua seconda edizione, il
K-culture
Festival
e’
co-organizzato
dall’Ambasciata
coreana,
dalla
citta’
di
Wellington e dalla Wellington Korean Association,
con l’obiettivo di promuovere la conoscenza della
Corea nel Paese. L’Ambasciata prevede la
partecipazione di circa 3 mila visitatori, compresi
i residenti coreani.
The South Korean Embassy in New Zealand
announced that it will host a K-Culture Festival
in the capital Wellington on July 3. The festival
will kick off with tasting Korean cuisine such as
seaweed rice roll "gimbap" and green onion
pancakes called "pajeon." The festival will also
showcase a traditional Korean fashion show and
traditional dance and the martial art Taekwondo.
In its second year, the K-Culture Festival is
jointly organized by the South Korean embassy,
the city of Wellington and the Wellington Korean
Association with the aim to boost understanding
of South Korea in the multiethnic country. The
embassy expects some three-thousand locals
including Korean residents to attend this year's
event.

La serie TV “Descendants of the Sun”
diventera’ un film in Cina
KBS hit drama ‘Descendants of the Sun’ to
be made into film in China
Sull’onda del sensazionale successo in Corea e in
Cina, la popolarissima serie TV “Descendants of
the Sun” diventera’ un film in Cina. Wuhan
Evening Post ha dichiarato che una delle
principali case di produzione del Paese, Huace
Film and TV, ha acquisito i diritti dell’operazione
e scritturato il regista Zhang Yibai.
Riding on the huge sensation in South Korea and
China, the mega-hit drama “Descendants of the
Sun” will be made into a movie in China. China’s
said one of the country's biggest film production
companies, Huace Film and TV, already bought
the copyright to turn the drama into a film and
called in Zhang Yibai to direct the film.

Il numero di turisti stranieri in visita al Paese nel
2016 e’ previsto in crescita del 21%, rispetto
allo scorso anno, per un totale di 8,1 milioni,
secondo
le
stime
della
Korea
Tourism
Organization. Il numero di visitatori stranieri in
Corea a giugno e’ raddoppiato dai 750 mila del
2015
agli
1,54
milioni
di
quest’anno.
L’incremento e’ il risultato delle strategie di
marketing
dell’ente
turistico,
rivolte
prevalentemente ai turisti cinesi, giapponesi e
del Sud-est asiatico.
The number of foreign tourists who visit Korea in
2016 is expected to rise by 21 percent to 8.1
million from a year ago, according to tentative
statistics from the Korea Tourism Organization.
The number of foreign visitors who came to
Korea in June doubled to 1.54 million, compared
to 750,000 who visited during the same month
last year. The rise supposedly resulted from the
tourism organization’s wide-ranging marketing
strategies that mostly targeted Chinese,
Japanese and Southeast Asian tourists.

fornire piu’ chips
Xiaomi may ask Samsung to supply more
chips
I profitti del business delle memorie di Samsung
Electronics potrebbero ricevere una spinta
quest’anno, in quanto si prevede che Xiaomi
richiedera’ un incremento di fornitura. Xiaomi e’
gia’ un cliente chiave per Samsung, e dovrebbe
presto chiedere la fornitura anche dei chip di
memoria flash NAND prodotti dall’azienda
coreana. Samsung Electronic e’ il leader globale
dei chip flash NAND con una quota del 42,6%,
seguita
dalla
giapponese
Toshiba
e
dall’americana
Micron.
Siccome
Samsung
Electronics possiede la proprieta’ intellettuale di
vari brevetti commerciali wireless, un accordo di
licenza con Samsung potrebbe aiutare Xiaomi ad
espandere il business al di fuori del mercato
cinese.
Samsung Electronics' memory chip business is
predicted to see a boost in its profits throughout
this year as Xiaomi is expected to request
Samsung to supply more memory chips.
Because Xiaomi is already a key Samsung
customer, the Chinese smartphone vendor is
seen to procure NAND flash memory chips from
Samsung. Samsung Electronics is the global
leader in NAND flash chips with a share of 42.6
percent, followed by Toshiba of Japan and Micron
of the United States. As Samsung Electronics
holds extensive wireless intellectual properties
both in commercial and standard essential
patents, a licensing agreement with Samsung
may help Xiaomi expand its business profile in
non-Chinese markets.

La citta’ di Seoul installera’ una grande bandiera
nazionale fatta con i fiori al centro della citta’ per
celebrare
il
71esimo
anniversario
della
liberazione
della
Corea
dal
colonialismo
giapponese. Il Governo della citta’ pianifica di
preparare un “Taegukgi” alto 5,2 metri e largo 8
metri a Gwanghwamun Plaza dal 1 al 15 agosto.
Questo progetto da 21 milioni di won (US$
18.300) fa parte degli sforzi di rilancio del
patriottismo per la celebrazione della festa
nazionale, e di promozione dell’emblema
nazionale agli stranieri in visita in una delle
principali aree turistiche della citta’.
The Seoul city will install a large-scale national
flag made of flowers at a square in central Seoul
to celebrate the 71st anniversary of South
Korea's liberation from Japan's colonial rule. The
Seoul Metropolitan Government is planning to
set up a “Taegeukgi” standing 5.2 meters high
and 8 meters wide at Gwanghwamun Plaza from
Aug. 1 to Aug. 15. The 21 million won
(US$18,300) project is in line with its efforts to
boost patriotism in celebration of the national
holiday and advertise the national emblem to
foreigners visiting the area, one of the cities'
most favored tourism spots.

Inizia il 19esimo Boryeong Mud Festival
19th Boryeong Mud Festival opens
Il 19esimo Boryeong Mud Festival si e’ aperto
alla spiaggia di Daecheon a Boryeong, nella
provincia di South Chungcheong, il 15 luglio. La
cerimonia di apertura ha presentato il tema della
manifestazione, “Exciting Mud Experience with
People Around the World”. Il festival attrae
annualmente molti visitatori stranieri e locali, e
si svolgera’ fino al 24 luglio.
The 19th Boryeong Mud Festival opened at
Daecheon
Beach
in
Boryeong,
South
Chungcheong Province on July 15. Under the
theme "Exciting Mud Experience with People
Around the World" the event began with an
opening ceremony. The annual festival which
attracts large numbers of foreign visitors as well
as locals will run through July 24th.

Corea aumenta il salario minimo per il 2017
S. Korea raises minimum wage for 2017
Il salario minimo coreano e’ stato fissato dal
Ministero del Lavoro a 6.470 won (US$ 5,70)
all’ora per il prossimo anno. Questo si trasla in
51.760 won al giorno per chi lavora 8 ore al
giorno, e in 1,35 milioni di won al mese per chi
lavora 209 ore al mese. La decisione e’ stata
presa da un consiglio trilaterale di rappresentanti
dei lavoratori, dei dirigenti e dell’opinione
pubblica, dopo il superamento delle divergenze
tra lavoratori e dirigenti.
South Korea's minimum wage has been set at
6,470 won (US$5.70) per hour for next year, up
7.3% from this year, the labor ministry said. The
new minimum wage translates to 51,760 won a
day for those who work 8 hours a day and some
1.35 million won a month for those who work
209 hours a month. The decision made by a
trilateral council of representatives from labor,
management and the general public was
reached amid discord between labor and
management.

key components for Toyota Motor Corp.'s smart
cars. LG signed a contract with the Japanese
automobile maker recently to supply a
"telematics" system. LG is a global leader in the
telematics field, taking up around 30 percent of
market share.

to hold week-long global forum in Jeju
Il Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI),
organizzazione internazionale di Promozione
della crescita green con sede a Seoul, riunira’
per una settimana esperti e business leaders
all’isola di Jeju, per discutere le modalita’ di una
crescita economica che non degradi l’ambiente.
La Global Green Growth Week riunira’, dal 5 al 9
settembre, centinaia di ufficiali governativi,
esperti e uomini d’affari da tutto il mondo per
una serie di incontri al fine di discutere della
transizione da una crescita economica basata sui
combustibili fosili ad una guidata dalle energie
rinnovabili, soprattutto nei Paesi in via di
sviluppo.
The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), the
Seoul-based
international
organization
promoting green growth, will hold a week-long
gathering of experts and business leaders later
this year on Jeju Island to discuss ways to
achieve economic growth without causing
environmental degradation. The Global Green
Growth Week, set to run from Sept. 5-9 on the
southern resort island, will bring together
hundreds of government officials, experts and
businessmen around the world for a series of
meetings designed to discuss how to transition
away from fossil fuel-based economic growth in
favor of renewable energy-driven growth,
especially in developing economies.
