gabbia arancio - American Chamber Of Commerce in Italy
AMCHAM AmCham is ‘All Business’ in 2014 Following the missions to Las Vegas and San Francisco, and now awaiting the one to New York in April, AmCham continues its series of workshops, luncheons, and meetings he new year began in full swing for AmCham-American Chamber of Commerce in Italy. In fact, from January 7-12, AmCham led a delegation of companies to Las Vegas and San Francisco. The first stop was the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas, the most important international technology showcase in the world, where, in addition to visiting the trade show, the participating companies had the opportunity to take part in a targeted program of meetings held at the Panasonic, IBM, Sony, and Samsung stands. The next stop was San Francisco, with visits to some of the largest Silicon Valley companies, including Twitter, Intel, and 500 Startup (probably the most important start-up incubator and accelerator in the world). The tools available to Italian companies for the purpose of developing start-up initiatives in Silicon Valley were the focus of various meetings, as well as the exclusive gala dinner which was attended by illustrious guests from the Italian-American community in the Bay Area: Mauro Battocchi (the Italian Consul General in San Francisco), Federico Faggin (inventor of the microprocessor), Vittorio Viarengo (a guru of Silicon Valley), and Paolo Privitera (founder of an enormously successful IT startup). Great satisfaction was expressed in the two missions, by both participants and AmCham leadership, which is already at work organizing the next transatlantic mission, planned for April 2-5 in New York. In the mean time, the calendar of meetings in Italy is gradually becoming more well-defined, starting with Milan: after the Business Cocktail which took place on January 19th, sponsored by Laverda – the first of 2014’s traditional meetings promoted by AmCham – which saw the participation of numerous Italian and American economic representatives, the next will be the Lunch Meeting with Giorgio Squinzi, President of Confindustria, on February 24th. Many meetings and events are scheduled throughout the rest of Italy as well, organized by the AmCham regional chapters: starting with Naples, where, the workshop entitled ‘The United States of America: a Rapidly Recovering Market in Which to Invest’ is to take place on March 11th, and then again on March 12th in Bari. Also in March (date still to be determined), the new Emilia-Romagna Chapter of AmCham Italy will be introduced in Bologna.
