ilano rinnova oggi il proprio dolore e la propria solidarietà agli Stati Uniti, rende un omaggio commosso a
tutte le vittime e alle loro famiglie. E dice
ancora una volta il suo No, forte e deciso,
contro ogni attacco alla libertà e alla democrazia, contro ogni oscurantismo, contro ogni
attacco al pensiero libero”. Così si è espresso
il sindaco di Milano, Giuliano Pisapia, lo
scorso 11 settembre, intervenendo alla cerimonia organizzata nel Giardino di Palazzo
Isimbardi per commemorare una delle tragedie che più ha sconvolto e soprattutto cambiato il mondo.
L’evento – organizzato dalla American
Chamber of Commerce in Italy e realizzato
grazie alla preziosa collaborazione di alcune
aziende e con il patrocinio di numerose istituzioni, italiane e americane – ha visto la partecipazione anche di Vittorio Terzi e Simone
Crolla, rispettivamente Presidente e Consigliere
Delegato di AmCham Italy, del Presidente della Provincia di Milano Guido Podestà, del
Console Generale degli Stati Uniti a Milano
Kyle Scott, dell’Assessore alla Casa della
Regione Lombardia (in rappresentanza del
Presidente Formigoni) Domenico Zambetti.
“Dieci anni fa le Twin Towers, simbolo di
intraprendenza e di libertà, si sono sgretolate
sotto i colpi di un fanatismo cieco e terrificante che ha sconvolto gli Stati Uniti e le
coscienze di tutto il mondo occidentale”, ha
affermato il Consigliere Delegato Simone
Crolla, che, in tale occasione, ha voluto ricordare il famoso motto americano “United we

vogliamo commemorare il decennale dell’11
settembre ed onorare chi ha dato la propria
vita per salvare sconosciuti di ogni sesso, raz-
za e credo religioso”. “Oggi – ha tenuto ad
aggiungere da parte sua il Presidente Vittorio
Terzi – vogliamo soprattutto attualizzare i
fatti riflettendo sul senso di incertezza e di
volatilità che hanno lasciato”. Da qui, l’invito
a “partire dal ricordo per guardare avanti”.
La cerimonia organizzata a Milano testimonia l’intensa attività promossa da AmCham
Italy non solo per rendere più saldi i legami
economico-commerciali tra Italia e Stati
Uniti, ma anche per permettere ai nostri due
Paesi di scrivere insieme nuove pagine di
storia comune, sempre in difesa della democrazia.

pronounced by the mayor of Milan, Giuliano Pisapia, on September, 11 during the ceremony
hosted in the garden of Palazzo Isimbardi, which
commemorated one of the most terrible
tragedies that changed the world. The event was
organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy, thanks to the valued collaboration
of some enterprises and with the support of several Italian and American institutions. Vittorio Terzi
and Simone Crolla, respectively President and
Managing Director of AmCham Italy, the President of the Province of Milan Guido Podestà, the
Consul General of the USA in Milan Kyle Scott,
Councilor for Social Housing of Regione Lombardia (representing President Formigoni) Domenico Zambetti attended the ceremony.

solemn ceremony to celebrate
friendship between Italy and the USA
Western World,” said the Managing Director Simone Crolla, who quoted on this occasion the
popular American saying ‘United we stand, divided we fall.’ “This is the reason why we, together
with our members and with the Institutions, intend to commemorate the 10th anniversary of
September, 11 and pay homage to those who
gave their lives to rescue people they did not
know, without prejudice of sex, race or religion.”
“Today – said President Vittorio Terzi – we want
to remember these facts considering the sense of
uncertainty and insecurity that they left behind.”
So the suggestion is to “remember to look towards the future.”
The ceremony organized in Milan is a sign of the
intensive activity promoted by AmCham Italy, not
only to strengthen the economic and business relations between Italy and the United States, but
also to allow both countries to work together
again to make future history, always defending
democracy.
