Mother of pearl is one of the sources of inspiration of Prestige Valentino; a top-quality material,
with iridescent colours and shot reflections. Prestige’s slightly textured surface evokes the
aragonite crystals which nature produces inside oysters, thus making it one of a kind and
precious. Prestige’s reflections feature the soft iridescence of mother of pearl; a refined product
of the sea, and its positive suggestions which has always been used for elegant furnishing and
furniture finishes, but also for buttons and precious fashion accessories, both in classic and
modern style.
Perlmutt ist eine der Inspirationsquellen von Prestige Valentino: ein edles Material mit irisierenden
Farben und schimmernden Reflexen. Die leicht strukturierte Oberfläche von Prestige evoziert

La nacre, matériau de qualité aux couleurs iridescentes, constitue une des sources d’inspiration

La madreperla è una delle fonti d’ispirazione di Prestige
Valentino; una materia di pregio, dai colori iridescenti e
dai riflessi cangianti. La superficie strutturata di Prestige,
rievoca i cristalli di aragonite che la natura predispone

The Prestige Broccato wall tiles, luminous and elegant, and the prized “Design” decoration, on
the other hand, take their inspiration from historical and exclusive Italian Renaissance fabrics.
Rich silk yarns, finished off with precious filaments, like the famous gold and silver brocades
made by the 16th-century master Florentine weavers; at that time, a full dress with numerous
drapes, like that worn by Eleonora di Toledo, Duchess of Florence, could cost up to one hundred
florins: a real fortune, only for the lucky few.

sind hingegen an historischen und exklusiven Stoffen aus der Italienischen Renaissance
inspiriert. Reiche Seidengarne, mit kostbaren Fasern veredelt, wie etwa die berühmten
Gold- und Silberbrokate, die die Florentiner Weber im 16. Jahrhundert so meisterhaft
herzustellen wussten, als ein weites und reich drapiertes Kleid wie jenes der Eleonora von
Toledo, Herzogin von Florenz, trug, auch hundert Florin kosten konnte: ein Vermögen, das sich
nur wenige Auserwählte leisten konnten.

ces riches étoffes de soie, rehaussées de dessins précieux, comme les célèbres brocarts d’or

rinascimentale. Ricchi filati di seta, rifiniti con filamenti
preziosi, come i famosi broccati d’oro e d’argento, di
cui i tessitori fiorentini erano maestri nel Cinquecento,
quando un vestito ampio e con molti drappeggi, come
quello indossato da Eleonora di Toledo, Duchessa di
Firenze, poteva costare anche cento fiorini: una vera
fortuna, solo per pochi eletti.

The elegance of this surface is the result of the classic Italian design, obtained thanks to its accurate
definition and iridescent effect, reflecting the light of a room and spreading warm and precious details.
The perfect graphic result of the brocade effect, obtained after two stages of decoration before firing,
makes these pieces a refined and inimitable product. As tailors of the Renaissance enhanced fabrics with
gold and silver wires, today Piemme’s technicians use precious glazes combined with special mixes of
micaceous minerals. This phase of production is very important in order to obtain the chiaroscuro effect,
making Prestige Broccato unique. The controlled cycle firing at 1155 degrees maximum for about seventy
minutes activates the physical and chemical reaction of the glazes, and fixes them to the extra fine white
body. Finally, the high precision mechanical grinding adjusts the four sides perfectly, making every single
slab perfect in dimensions. Choosing accurately the purest raw materials together with the meticulous work
by specialized personnel and the most advanced productive technology, make possible the realization of
something which cannot be simply defined a “tile”, but a real furniture surface.
Das durch eine genaue Ausgestaltung erlangte klassisch-Italienische Design sowie der irisierende Effekt,
der das Umgebungslicht reflektiert und warme, wertvolle Details verbreitet, verleihen dieser Oberfläche
ihre Eleganz. Das perfekte graphische Ergebnis zur Erlangung des Brokateffekts, der sich aus den beiden
Dekorationsverfahren vor dem Brand ergibt, macht diese Stücke so wertvoll und unnachahmlich. Wie die
Schneidermeister der Renaissance einst Stoffe mit Gold- und Silberfäden verzierten, so verwenden die
Techniker von Piemme heute wertvolle Glasuren, die mit besonderen Gemischen aus glimmerhaltigen,
besonders glänzenden Mineralien vermischt werden. Dieser Herstellungsschritt ist im Hinblick auf den HellDunkel-Kontrast, welcher das Produkt Prestige Broccato auszeichnet, von entscheidender Bedeutung.
Der elektronisch gesteuerte Brennvorgang dauert in etwa siebzig Minuten, die Höchsttemperatur beträgt
dabei 1155° C. Dabei wird eine chemische und physikalische Reaktion der Glasuren ausgelöst, die mit
der Scherbe aus feinster weißer Masse zu einem einzigen Körper verschmelzen. Zuletzt werden die
vier Seiten durch die mechanische, hochpräzise Rektifizierung perfekt kalibriert, wodurch jede einzelne
Keramikplatte auch von der Größe her perfekt ist. Die sorgfältige Auswahl der reinsten Rohstoffe sowie der
präzise Verarbeitungsprozess, der von hochqualifiziertem Personal mit Hilfe der modernsten Gerätetechnik
gesteuert wird, bilden die Grundlage für die Herstellung von Produkten, die nicht mehr als einfache Fliesen,
sondern mit vollem Recht als Einrichtungsoberflächen bezeichnet werden können.

L’impeccable réalisation graphique nécessaire pour obtenir l’effet broché est donnée grâce aux deux
passages de décoration prévus avant la cuisson, c’est pourquoi ces pièces sont extrêmement précieuses
et inimitables. Si les couturiers de la Renaissance embellissaient les tissus avec des fils d’or et d’argent,
de la même façon aujourd’hui les techniciens de Piemme utilisent des émails précieux incorporés à de
spéciaux mélanges de minéraux micacés particulièrement brillants. Cette démarche de la réalisation est
essentiel afin d’obtenir les effets de contraste clair-obscur qui font de Prestige Broccato une collection si
unique. La cuisson, dont le cycle est contrôlé électroniquement, dure presque soixante-dix minutes et
atteint une température maximale de 1155°, en activant la réaction physique et chimique des émails et
en créant un corps unique avec le fond de fine pâte blanche. Enfin, la rectification mécanique de haute
précision calibre parfaitement les quatre côtés, en faisant de chaque dalle céramique une pièce parfaite
même du point de vue dimensionnel. Grâce au choix attentif de matières premières parmi les plus pures,
au rigoureux cycle d’usinage et à l’intervention du personnel spécialisé en harmonie avec la plus moderne
des technologies de production, il est possible de définir ces pièces non pas de simples carreaux, mais de
véritables surfaces de décoration.

нитями, так и сегодня техники Piemme применяют ценные глазури, смешанные со специальными
смесями слюдистых минералов, имеющих наиболее сильный блеск. Именно эта фаза обработки
является решающей для получения контрастного эффекта светотени, который придает Prestige
Broccato такой особый вид. Цикл высокотемпературного обжига, который контролируют с помощью
электроники, длится семьдесят минут и достигает максимальной температуры в 1155°: в глазурях
происходят физические и химические реакции, и, вследствие этого, порошкообразная белая
смесь, составляющая основу, сплавляется в единую плотную массу. В завершении плиту шлифуют
механическим способом высокой точности, что обеспечивает ей идеально ровный край, поэтому
она совершенна и с точки зрения размера. Тщательный выбор высококачественного сырья, строгий
цикл производства, специализированный персонал и самая современная производственная техника

L’eleganza di questa superficie è data dal disegno classico
Italiano ottenuto con definizione puntuale e dal suo
effetto iridescente capace di riflettere la luce ambientale
diffondendo dettagli preziosi. Il perfetto risultato grafico per la
realizzazione dell’effetto broccato, è dato dai due passaggi
di decorazione necessari prima della cottura e rende questi
pezzi assolutamente pregiati ed inimitabili. Così come i
sarti di epoca rinascimentale impreziosivano il tessuto con
fili d’oro e d’argento, oggi i tecnici Piemme utilizzano smalti
preziosi amalgamati a speciali miscele di minerali micacei
particolarmente brillanti. Questa fase della lavorazione è
determinante per ottenere gli effetti di contrasto chiaro/scuro
che rendono Prestige Broccato così particolare. La cottura a
ciclo controllato per circa settanta minuti ad una temperatura
di picco che raggiunge i 1155°C attiva la reazione fisica e
chimica degli smalti unendoli in un corpo unico al supporto
in pasta bianca finissima. Infine la lavorazione di rettifica
meccanica ad alta precisione calibra perfettamente i quattro
lati rendendo ogni singola lastra ceramica perfetta anche dal
punto di vista dimensionale. La scelta accurata delle materie
prime più pure ed il rigoroso ciclo di lavorazione ad opera
di personale specializzato supportato dalla più moderna
tecnologia produttiva, rendono possibile la realizzazione di
quelle che non si possono più definire semplici piastrelle, ma
vere e proprie superfici d’arredo.

Design
Note tecniche:
La versione Design di Prestige raggiunge il massimo della
potenzialità espressiva che le moderne tecniche produttive
consentono in campo ceramico. Alla già preziosa superficie di
Prestige viene infatti aggiunto quel tocco di maestria e tecnica
che contraddistingue da sempre il top di gamma dei rivestimenti
Piemme. Solo le migliori lastre Prestige, una volta giunte al
termine della lavorazione di decorazione, cottura e rettifica
meccanica, vengono selezionate da personale specializzato
per essere destinate ad un ulteriore ciclo di lavorazioni che
le trasformerà in “Prestige Design”. Le lastre Prestige sono
sottoposte ad un nuovo particolare processo di decorazione,
questa volta basato sulla distribuzione a caduta di speciali
graniglie silicee miscelate a glitter brillanti; una tecnica
estremamente complessa in cui, oltre all’utilizzo di materie
prime ad alto valore, anche l’esperienza e la professionalità dei
tecnici rappresentano ingredienti di fondamentale importanza.
Una volta terminata questa delicata fase di ri-decorazione, le
lastre subiscono un nuovo ciclo di cottura, questa volta per
circa 60 minuti ad una temperatura di 830°C che favorisce la
coesione del nuovo decoro a quello preesistente. La seconda

The Design version of Prestige is the top of the expressive potential reachable in the ceramic field. A touch
of mastery is added to the already precious surface of Prestige, distinguishing the Piemme brand products
since ever. Only the best Prestige slabs, after decoration, firing and mechanical grinding are selected by
specialized personnel and sent to a further manufacturing cycle, after which they will become “Prestige
Design” slabs. The Prestige slabs undergo an extra decorating process, during which special siliceous
grit and brilliant glitter are distributed on the tiles; this is an extremely complex technique which combines
high value raw materials with expertise and professionalism. After this step of re-decoration, the slabs are
fired one more time for about 60 minutes at 830 degrees, letting the new decoration blend in with the
pre-existing one. The second firing, at a slightly lower temperature, enhances the characteristics of the
special polish mix, making the slabs looking extremely brilliant. After a further selection, this product of
rare aesthetic and technique perfection is wrapped manually, ready to be installed in the most exclusive
bathrooms in the world.
Bei der Design-Version von Prestige kommt das maximale Ausdruckspotenzial der Fliesen dank der
modernsten Herstellungsverfahren in der Keramikbranche voll zur Geltung. Der bereits hochwertigen
Prestige-Oberfläche wird ein zusätzlicher Hauch an Kunstfertigkeit und Technik auf höchstem Niveau
verliehen, der seit jeher die hochwertigste Produktpalette der Piemme-Verkleidungen auszeichnet. Lediglich
werden die besten Prestige-Platten nach der Dekoration, dem Brand und der mechanischen Rektifizierung
von hochqualifiziertem Personal ausgewählt und einem weiteren Verarbeitungsverfahren unterzogen,
das sie in “Prestige Design”-Platten verwandelt. Die Prestige-Platten werden einem neuen, besonderen
Dekorationsverfahren unterzogen, bei dem besonderes kieselhaltiges Granulat gemischt mit glänzendem
Glitter auf die Platten gestreut wird; dabei handelt es sich um eine extrem komplexe Technik, bei der neben
hochwertigen Rohstoffen auch die Erfahrung und die Professionalität der Techniker von herausragender
Bedeutung sind. Nach Abschluss dieser erneuten Dekorationsphase werden die Platten nochmals
gebrannt. Dieser Prozess dauert ungefähr 60 Minuten und erfolgt bei einer Temperatur von 830° C, wobei
die Kohäsion zwischen der neuen Dekorationsschicht und der bereits existierenden verstärkt wird. Durch
den zweiten Brennvorgang, der im Vergleich zum ersten bei einer etwas niedrigeren Temperatur stattfindet,
werden die Eigenschaften der besonderen Glasurmischung besonders betont, die nach Abschluss des
Verarbeitungsverfahrens extrem lebendig und glänzend ist. Nach einer weiteren Auswahlphase werden
die Fliesen händisch verpackt. Diese sind nunmehr ein Beispiel seltener technischer und ästhetischer
Perfektion, die in den exklusivsten Badezimmern der Welt verwendet werden können.
La version Design de Prestige atteint le maximum du potentiel expressif réalisable par les modernes
techniques de production dans le domaine de la céramique. La précieuse surface de Prestige est enrichie
par une touche de maîtrise et technique, ce qui distingue depuis toujours le haut de gamme des revêtements
Piemme. Seules les meilleures dalles Prestige, une fois réalisée la décoration, la cuisson et la rectification
mécanique, sont sélectionnées par le personnel spécialisé et envoyées à un spécial cycle productif qui les
transformera en “Prestige Design“. Les dalles Prestige sont soumises à un nouveau méthode decoratif
particulier, axé sur la chute de spéciales grenailles siliceuses mélangées avec des paillettes brillantes.
C’est une technique extrêmement complexe, où l’utilisation de matières premières de haute valeur est
complémentaire à l’expérience et au professionnalisme des techniciens. Une fois terminée cette délicate
phase de ré-décoration, un nouveau cycle de cuisson commence, où les dalles sont exposées à une
température de 830° pendant 60 minutes environ, ce qui permet la cohésion de la nouvelle décoration
avec la précédente. La seconde cuisson, dont la température est inférieure par rapport à la première,
exalte les caractéristiques du mélange d’émails, qui apparaissent extrêmement vifs et brillants au bout
de leur usinage. Après une phase de sélection supplémentaire ce produit manufacturé de rare perfection
technique et esthétique est emballé manuellement, prêt à être appliqué dans les salles de bain les plus
exclusives au Monde.
