ITC secondment and consultancy
in Kosovo is aimed at
- acquiring contacts useful for Italian potential investors;
- fostering Italian companies to the business opportunities in tenders of IFIs, Eu;
- increasing Italian direct investments and commercial and industrial collaborations;
- disclosing information related with international cooperation in the Balkans;
- fostering Italian technical specifications in tender contracts of infrastructures;
- rising acquisition of Italian companies in privatization of Kosova companies.

- assist local authorities in the development of infrastructure programs in sectors of
environment, energy, transport, logistics, and tourism through the evaluation of strategies in
place in individual countries and through the mapping and analysis of documentation;

development and internationalization of enterprises;
- identify financial instruments in multilateral fields of infrastructure, financial sources to
enable bi-multilateral intervention in support of programming in the country;
- provide business opportunities and investment identifying financial sources bi-multilateral
initiatives for the growth and developement of entrepreneurship (venture capital, risk
capital, security instruments, micro-credit activities, research funding, technical and
managerial training);

- perform the mapping of the presence in the country of areas with industrial
vocation and district needs assessment in terms of infrastructure, business
services, presence of mechanisms for control and quality certification;
- make a connection between authorities / bodies in charge of Italian and local
development and internationalization of SMEs, in order to plan specific
promotions sectorial partnership;
- cooperate with the See of Rome in ICE Office Loco organizing business
missions, seminars and bilateral meetings between Italian companies and the
beneficiary countries of the intervention.
Summirize the intent
1 technical assistance to IPAK, Investment Promotion Agency in
Kosovo, in terms of economic and entrepreneurial development with
special reference to small and medium enterprises;
2 participation of Italian companies to business opportunities;
3 increase Italian investments and industrial collaborations;
4 improve participation of Italian companies to tender financed by
international organizations in Kosovo;

USAID http://www.usaid.gov/kosovo/eng/
A $10 million Development Credit Authority (DCA) loan guarantee with Raiffeisen Bank
targets the agricultural sector and has been fully disbursed,
resulting in loans to 904 agricultural producers.
Two additional DCA loan guarantees are planned,
one with a private bank and the second with a microfinance institution.
USAID also supports the provision of innovative financial products
that directly contribute to an increase in productivity and employment.
Through their assistance, Crimson Capital has provided $1.8 million
in short term working capital to small and medium entrepreneurs,
resulting in almost $20 million in additional sales.
There are plans to offer equipment leasing services, especially to agricultural producers.

A $3.7 million Strategic Activities Fund provides flexible funding
to work with businesses to fund or cost-share
specific processes or equipment
that can lead to improvements in the overall
competitiveness of a sub-sector or value chain.

USAID's Kosovo Small and Medium Enterprise (SME)
Commercial Finance Fund addresses the need for
short-term working capital financing.

i.e., entrepreneurs, farmers, processors, women and
minorities with less experience, size and fixed asset collateral.
