A note from Fr. Wayne . . .
From the Deacon’s desk . . .
November is the month dedicated to all Souls. I ask
each of you to take some time and pray for the Holy
Souls in Purgatory. These are souls that are in need
of our assistance. I recently read the following description of Purgatory:
Words cannot express . . .
My family and I were overwhelmed by the generosity
and kindness of the Sacred Heart Parish Family
upon the death of my father. The many prayers and
condolences will long be remembered by my mother,
sister, brothers, and me. Through the intercession of
Saint Joseph my father had a very happy death. In
the time ahead, I am confident that our loving and
merciful Lord will continue to bless my family.
“Purgatory was created by God. It is a masterpiece of
His infinite mercy. But if souls really made an effort,
this extra grace would not be necessary and purgatory
would disappear for lack of use. It is souls who maintain the need for purgatory, because they are not prepared at the moment of their encounter. If you reach
the end of your life cleansed of all sin and having
paid on earth the debt of sin, purgatory would then
not exist, because you would go directly to heaven.”
Beginning Friday, November 20th at 6:00 p.m. and
for the next 3 consecutive weeks we will pray the
Scriptural Rosary, starting with the Joyful Mysteries.
In addition to praying for those souls in purgatory, let
us make an effort to live holy and good lives. Let us
take the time here on earth to strive for holiness and
desire the joys of Heaven with even greater strength
and determination.
Please remember to return any nominations you
may have for the new Session of the
Parish Pastoral Council.
Elections for the council members will take place
next weekend, November 21st & 22nd.

LE ULTIME REALTÀ
«Il cristianesimo è escatologia dal principio alla fine
e non solo in appendice»; «tutta la predicazione
cristiana, tutta l'esistenza cristiana, e la Chiesa stessa
nel suo insieme, sono caratterizzate dal loro
orientamento escatologico». Con la risurrezione di
Gesù, infatti, il mondo e la storia sono entrati nella
loro fase finale, nella pienezza dei tempi. Le
promesse di Dio si sono compiute e i cicli e la terra
nuovi sono già stati inaugurati. In Cristo, Dio ha già
detto la sua parola definitiva; in noi è già stato
deposto lo Spirito che è il seme delle realtà future.
Proteggimi, o Dio: in te mi rifugio.
Il Signore è mia parte di eredità e
mio calice: nelle tue mani è la mia
vita. Io pongo sempre davanti a me
il Signore, sta alla mia destra, non
potrò vacillare.
Per questo gioisce il mio cuore ed
esulta la mia anima; anche il mio
corpo riposa al sicuro, perché non
abbandonerai la mia vita negli inferi,

Ogni sacerdote si presenta giorno per giorno a celebrare il culto e a offrire molte volte gli stessi sacrifici,
che non possono mai eliminare i peccati.
Cristo, invece, avendo offerto un solo sacrificio per i
peccati, si è assiso per sempre alla destra di Dio, aspettando ormai che i suoi nemici vengano posti a sgabello dei suoi piedi. Infatti, con un'unica offerta egli
ha reso perfetti per sempre quelli che vengono santificati. Ora, dove c'è il perdono di queste cose, non c'è
più offerta per il peccato.
GLORIA
Gloria a Dio nell'alto dei cieli e pace in terra agli
uomini di buona volontà. Noi ti lodiamo, ti
benediciamo, ti adoriamo, ti glorifichiamo, ti
rendiamo grazie per la tua gloria immensa, Signore
Dio, Re del cielo, Dio Padre onnipotente. Signore,
Figlio unigenito, Gesù Cristo, Signore Dio, Agnello
di Dio, Figlio del Padre; tu che togli i peccati del
mondo, abbi pietà di noi; tu che togli i peccati del

Dalla pianta di fico imparate la parabola: quando ormai il suo ramo diventa tenero e spuntano le foglie,
sapete che l'estate è vicina. Così anche voi: quando
vedrete accadere queste cose, sappiate che egli è vicino, è alle porte. In verità io vi dico: non passerà
questa generazione prima che tutto questo avvenga. Il
cielo e la terra passeranno, ma le mie parole non passeranno. Quanto però a quel giorno o a quell'ora,
nessuno lo sa, né gli angeli nel cielo né il Figlio, eccetto il Padre».

IL CREDO
Credo in un solo Dio, Padre onnipotente, creatore

verrà, nella gloria, per giudicare i vivi e i morti, e il
suo regno non avrà fine.
Credo nello Spirito Santo, che é Signore e dà la vita,
e procede dal Padre e dal Figlio e con il Padre e il
Figlio é adorato e glorificato e ha parlato per mezzo
dei profeti.
Credo la Chiesa, una, santa, cattolica e apostolica.
Professo un solo battesimo per il perdono dei
peccati. Aspetto la risurrezione dei morti e la vita del
mondo che verrà.
Amen.
Chi non ama resta sempre nella notte
e dall’ombra della morte non risorge;
ma se noi camminiamo nell’amore,
