His distinctive voice and great acting skills have enabled him to perform in the major opera houses and orchestras around the world.
In 2000 he was invited by Claudio Abbado to perform as Don Alfonso in Così fan tutte at the Teatro Comunale di Ferrara, where he
returned in 2004 to perform again as Don Alfonso under Claudio Abbado’s baton. His collaboration with Claudio Abbado has been
particularly important and fruitful; under his baton he also made his debut with the Berliner Philharmoniker in a concert version of
Simon Boccanegra (Pietro) in 1999.
His career has taken him to Salzburg Festival, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Berlin Staatsoper, Théâtre des Champs Elysées de
Paris, Opéra National de Paris, Teatro São Carlos in Lisbon, Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Bruxelles, Wiener Konzerthaus,
International Edinburgh Festival, Teatro alla Scala, Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia di Roma and Teatro del Maggio Musicale
Fiorentino in Florence, in a variety of repertory that focuses on the bel canto, as well as many of the Mozart and Rossini works such
as Don Giovanni (Leporello), Così fan tutte (Don Alfonso), Le nozze di Figaro (Figaro), Die Zauberflöte (Papageno), La fille du
régiment (Sulpice), Il barbiere di Siviglia (Bartolo), La Cenerentola (Don Magnifico) Il turco in Italia (Don Geronio), La clemenza
di Tito (Seneca), L’elisir d’amore (Dulcamara), Don Pasquale (title role) and Falstaff (title role).
He has sung in opera and concert with the world's leading conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Rinaldo Alessandrini, Maurizio
Benini, Richard Bonynge, Gustav Kuhn, Andris Nelsons, Gustavo Dudamel, Lorin Maazel, Donato Renzetti, Corrado Rovaris and
with stage directors including Daniele Abbado, Luca Ronconi, Filippo Crivelli, Piero Faggioni and Stefano Vizioli.
In 1996 he made his Teatro alla Scala debut performing in Armida under the baton of Riccardo Muti. He returned to Milano Scala to
perform in the world premiere of Fabio Vacchi’s Teneke under the baton of Roberto Abbado, staged by Ermanno Olmi (season
2007/08).
He opened the 2014/15 season performing Don Giovannni (Leporello) in Como, Jesi, Pavia, Cremona and Pisa, followed by his
return to Teatro alla Scala as Seneca in Bob Wilson’s new production of L’Incoronazione di Poppea, Le Toreador at Teatro Massimo
di Palermo, Don Pasquale (title role) at Teatro Verdi di Trieste, La bohème (Colline) at Sferisterio di Macerata and at Teatro San
Carlo di Napoli.
Among his future plans are his role debut as Fiesco in Simon Boccanegra at Teatro Verdi di Pisa and during a tour in Livorno,
Rovigo and Lucca, Il barbiere di Siviglia (Bartolo) in Fermo, I Due Foscari (Jacopo), L’Incoronazione di Poppea (Seneca) and Le
nozze di Figaro (Bartolo; Antonio) at Teatro alla Scala di Milano.
Among his recent engagements are Don Giovanni (Leporello) with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra under the baton Roberto
Abbado, Don Pasquale (title role) at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Don Giovanni (Leporello) at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna,
Mozart’s Requiem with the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra in Tokyo and Così fan tutte at the Teatro Lauro Rossi di Macerata.
In the 2005/06 season, dedicated to Mozart celebrations, he made his outstanding debut as Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro) at the Théatre
des Champs-Elysées de Paris and performed as Don Alfonso (Così fan tutte) at the Monnaie in Bruxelles, at the San Carlo di Napoli,
at the Auditorium di Santa Cecilia in Rome and with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Roberto Abbado, and as
Leporello (Don Giovanni) at the San Carlo di Napoli.
Very active on the concert side, Andrea Concetti has sung Stravinskij’s Pulcinella and Schubert’s Mass in G at the Accademia
Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle at the Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Mozart’s Requiem in Paris,
Köln and on tour with the Théâtre des Champs Elysées.
Graduated at the “Gioachino Rossini” Conservatory of Pesaro, he continued his studies with Sesto Buscantini and Mietta Sighele. In
1990 he won the International Competition “Iris Adami Corradetti” in Padova and the 46th Competition for Young European Singers
“Adriano Belli” in Spoleto.
