From the Pastor's Desk
Dear Parishioners:
It has been an honour to
have served St. Clare's
parish for these last several
years as your pastor. I was
especially blessed to have
been placed here at St
Clare's, since this was my
mother's first parish when
she immigrated to Canada
from Italy in 1957. Cardinal
Collins has asked me to take
on
a
new
pastoral
assignment
at
Precious
Blood Church in Scarborough. My last weekend here will
be June 25-26. Fr. Francesco Marrone will be replacing
me. I am sure you will show him the same caring and
welcoming nature you afforded me during my stay here.
Again I would like to thank all of you for your support and
care over these last couple of years. Aby, my dog, and I
were happy to be part of this community. I look forward to
meeting you at the next Knights of Columbus coffee
Sunday, June 5th to share some stories and memories.

Holy Hour & Healing
Mass
Please join us on First Friday, June 3 rd, for Holy Hour at
8:00 a.m. with Healing Mass to follow at 9:00 am. This is
an opportunity for you to receive the healing oil that
refreshes us and brings us closer to Jesus. The oil of the
sick is administered to all the faithful as a sign of our
communion with The Lord and His constant care for us.
Coffee Sunday
Next Sunday, June 5th, you are invited to join
us in the Hall after Mass for some coffee,
refreshments & to spend some time with Fr. Xavier
and your fellow parishioners!
Bundle Weekend
On the weekend of June 11/12th, the SVDP
truck will be parked in the school yard. If
you have any good used items that you’d
like to donate, please bring them to the truck then. Thanks
for your ongoing support!

Sharelife Sunday – Today
Working wonders for people in our
homes and parishes…
In 2012, Nadia was brought to Street Haven’s emergency
shelter by the police. She was an immigrant from India and
had been locked in a garage by her husband and mother-inlaw for two years, rarely able to visit the two children.
Upon her arrival at Street Haven, Nadia thrived. She slowly
built trust with the counselors, participated in household
responsibilities, and loved looking after the gardens. Her
counselor set Nadia up with a lawyer and after a year of
legal consultations, she received custody of her two
children.
Street haven helped them find housing and Nadia and
her children now live in a beautiful, safe home where
they have started a new chapter in their lives.

Carissimi Parrocchiani:
E 'stato un onore avervi servito come
parroco di questa chiesa durante questi
ultimi anni.
Sono stato particolarmente
contento di essere stato assegnato a St
Clare, specialmente perché è stata la prima
parrocchia di mia madre quando è immigrata dall’Italia nel
1957. Ora, il Cardinale Collins mi ha chiesto di assumere un
nuovo incarico pastorale nella Chiesa di Precious Blood a
Scarborough. Il mio ultimo fine settimana qui sarà 25-26
giugno. Padre Francesco Marrone mi sostituirà. Sono sicuro
che lo accoglierete calorosamente come lo avete fatto con me.
Ancora una volta, vorrei ringraziarvi tutti per il vostro sostegno
durante questi ultimi due anni. Aby ed io siamo stati felici di
far parte di questa comunità. Domenica 5 giugno, dopo la
messa, vi invito a scendere giù in sala per un caffè e per stare
un pò insieme e scambiare qualche parola. Dio vi benedica, P.

Oggi – Domenica di Sharelife
Creando meraviglie nelle nostre case e
parrocchie
Nel 2012, Nadia è stata portata dalla polizia con emergenza a
Street Haven - una Casa di Ricovero. Questa immigrata
dall'India è stata tenuta rinchiusa per due anni in un garage
dal marito e dalla suocera, privandola anche di vedere i propri
figli. Lì, a Street Haven, col tempo, Nadia ha preso fiducia nei
suoi consulenti, e riprendendosi ha potuto assumere alcune
responsabilità domestiche. Un suo consulente l’ha messo in
contatto con un avvocato, che dopo un anno di consultazioni
legali, ha ricevuto la custodia dei suoi due figli.
Street Haven li ha aiutati a trovare un alloggio, e oggi Nadia e i
suoi figli vivono in una bella casa dove hanno iniziato un nuovo
capitolo nella loro vita.
Oggi, abbiamo l' ultima di tre collette per SHARELIFE! Si prega
di dare generosamente.
Messa di Guarigione
Venerdì, 3 giugno, abbiamo l’ora santa alle 8:00 a.m. seguita
dalla Messa di Guarigione alle 9:00 a.m.
Prendiamo un Caffé Insieme
Domenica prossima, 5 giugno, dopo la messa, siete invitati a
scendere giù in sala per un caffè e per stare un po insieme, e
anche per salutare Padre Saverio.
RACCOLTA SAN VINCENZO DE PAOLI
Nel weekend del 11/12 giugno, sarà parcheggiato nel cortile
della Scuola di St. Clare (su Westmount Ave.) il camion della
Società San Vincenzo de Paoli. Portate i vostri articoli che non
vi sono più utili, ma che sono ancora in buone condizioni.
