ROME (ITALIA) - PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND (US), 02 aprile, 2008 –
Lottomatica S.p.A. annuncia che la controllata al 100% GTECH Corporation ha
firmato un contratto di servizi della durata di sei anni per fornire alla Lotteria del
Michigan (Michigan Bureau of State Lottery - Michigan Lottery), cliente di GTECH
dal 1988, una nuova tecnologia per le lotterie, nonché servizi correlati. Il
contratto, conseguito a seguito di una gara competitiva, inizierà
presumibilmente il 20 gennaio 2009 ed include sei possibili opzioni di rinnovo
della durata di un anno ciascuna. GTECH stima di ottenere ricavi pari a circa
US$250 milioni per il periodo di sei anni.

negli Stati Uniti e, in quanto tale, è chiamata a rispondere in modo dinamico ai
continui cambiamenti del settore ed alle richieste del mercato” ha commentato

La Lotteria del Michigan è attualmente la nona lotteria degli Stati Uniti in termini
di vendite totali con oltre US$2,3 miliardi registrati nell’ultimo anno.
In base ai nuovi termini contrattuali, GTECH sostituirà l’attuale sistema delle
lotterie con il sistema per lotterie on-line e istantanee Enterprise Series™ (ES).
La Società installerà inoltre una nuova rete IP-telecommunications e fino a
11.000 terminali Altura® .
Verranno installati inoltre circa 11.000 apparecchiature di tipo Ticket-Scan™,
ovvero delle macchine per la verifica automatica dei biglietti. GTECH fornirà
anche servizi di player messaging e di visualizzazione delle transazioni
attraverso la propria rete ES Multi-Media program, saranno installati inoltre
monitor a schermo piatto Club Keno a supporto dei circa 2.300 rivenditori Club
Kino del Michigan.
Tra i numerosi prodotti per lotterie che saranno consegnati alla Lotteria del
Michigan nel corso della durata del contratto, la Società prevede anche di fornire
fino a 1.350 Instant To Go™ 24 e 500 dei suoi chioschi automatici per lotterie
on-line, Lotto To Go™. Inoltre, si prevede che verranno installati anche fino a
200 Lottery To Go™ e 200 Instant Showcase™. I distributori automatici di
biglietti istantanei di GTECH, Instant To Go 24, offrono ai giocatori una selezione
di 24 giochi mentre Lottery To Go abbina le caratteristiche dei distributori di
biglietti per lotterie istantanee alle capacità di quelli automatici per lotterie online. Instant Showcase, un sistema di gestione automatizzato dei biglietti
istantanei, mette a disposizione biglietti istantanei direttamente nei punti
vendita. Grazie alla capacità di connessione di InfoAccess™ ITVM di GTECH,
questi distributori risulteranno interamente integrati con i sistemi e i terminali
della Lotteria del Michigan.
GTECH continuerà a garantire un data center principale in loco, con un data
center di back-up ad Austin in Texas. La Società fornirà anche servizi relativi ai
biglietti istantanei, compreso lo stoccaggio e la distribuzione dei biglietti stessi.
Infine, GTECH offrirà servizi correlati come la manutenzione del sistema
centrale, dei terminali e della rete, formazione ai rivenditori, assistenza
marketing e servizi di assistenza via call center.

ROME (ITALY) - PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND (US), April 02, 2008 Lottomatica S.p.A. announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, GTECH
Corporation, has signed a six-year integrated services contract to provide new
lottery technology and ongoing services to the Michigan Bureau of State Lottery
(Michigan Lottery), GTECH’s lottery customer since 1988. The contract, which
shall commence on January 20, 2009, includes six one-year extension options
and is the result of a competitive procurement process. GTECH expects to
receive approximately US$250 million in revenues over the six-year base period.

challenged to continue to respond to changes in the industry and the demands

The Michigan Lottery currently ranks ninth in the U.S. in terms of total sales with

Under the terms of the new contract, GTECH will convert the current lottery
system to GTECH’s Enterprise Series™ (ES) online and instants system solution.

displays instant tickets right at the retail checkout. The Company’s InfoAccess™

fully integrated with the Michigan Lottery’s systems and terminals.
GTECH will continue to provide an in-state primary data center, with a back-up
data center in Austin, Texas. The Company will also provide instant-ticket
services, including instant ticket warehousing and distribution. Moreover,
GTECH will offer ongoing services to the Lottery such as maintenance of the
central system, terminals, and communications network; field service; retailer
