RÈGLEMENT DU CONCOURS
Le 8ème Concours International de Quatuor à Cordes de Bordeaux aura lieu du 2 au 8
Mai 2016.
1. ADMISSION
Le concours s'adresse aux ensembles de toutes nationalités dont les membres sont nés
après le 1er Mai 1975, la moyenne d'âge des quatre participants ne devant pas dépasser
trente-trois ans (33) au 1er Mai 2016.
Des dérogations ne pourront être accordées qu'à titre exceptionnel.
Les ensembles devront produire un dossier d'inscription comportant:
a.

Pour le Quatuor:
le formulaire d’inscription ci-joint dûment rempli
une biographie
deux photos récentes du Quatuor
un DVD avec quelques morceaux récemment enregistrés par le quatuor et
choisis par ses soins (durée totale supérieure à 30 minutes). Ce document doit
être accompagné d’une notice mentionnant les dates et lieux des enregistrements
une référence écrite d'un professeur du quatuor
b. Pour chaque membre:
 copie du passeport / pièce d’identité
 un curriculum vitae indiquant les études accomplies

2. CONDITIONS GÉNÉRALES
Les candidats bénéficient de la gratuité de l'hébergement depuis la veille du concours
jusqu'à la fin des épreuves du concours. En outre, chaque quatuor recevra une aide
forfaitaire de € 400,00.
Le concert des lauréats aura lieu le 8 Mai 2016.
Les participants seront invités à jouer en différents lieux durant leur séjour.
Les lauréats devront recevoir personnellement leur prix et s'engagent à participer au
concert final. Le programme de ces concerts relève de la direction du concours.
Les épreuves du concours et les différents concerts pourront être enregistrés et diffusés;
ces captations sonores ou audiovisuelles ou photographiques dans le cadre du concours
sont libres de droits. Les droits des interprètes seront conformes aux dispositions de
l'article L212-3 du code la propriété intellectuelle.
Les candidats sont autorisés à participer à des émissions ou enregistrements à Bordeaux,
en dehors des épreuves, sous réserve de l'accord de la direction du concours.
Il est demandé aux candidats de contracter une assurance afin de couvrir leur personne,
leurs biens et leur responsabilité civile.
L'organisateur n'acceptera aucune responsabilité en cas d'accident survenu aux
personnes, ni en cas de perte, de vol ou de détérioration d'instruments pendant le
concours.
En envoyant leur inscription, les candidats acceptent toutes les clauses du Règlement
ainsi que les modifications qui pourraient intervenir dans la composition du Jury en cas
de défection d'un de ses membres.
Les Quatuors ayant remporté le Premier Grand Prix lors d'un précédent concours, ne
pourront se représenter.
Les candidats sont invités à poser les questions qu’ils jugeraient nécessaires en temps
utile, sans attendre l’acceptation ou le refus de leur dossier.
3. EPREUVES
Les candidats au concours 2016 seront soumis, dans le déroulement des épreuves, aux
obligations suivantes:
a. Les deux premières épreuves auront une durée de 50 à 60 minutes. La
finale une durée de 60 à 70 minutes.
b. Tous les candidats devront commencer la 1ère épreuve par:

 Choisir une oeuvre écrite entre 1772 et 1845 (à l'exclusion d'un quatuor
de Beethoven).

* La meilleure interprétation d'un des quatuors de Lucien Durosoir fera l'objet de
l'attribution d'un prix spécial d'un montant de 4.000,00 €. Toutefois les candidats
peuvent choisir un autre quatuor.
Ces obligations prises en compte, les candidats organiseront librement le programme de
chacune de leurs épreuves.
Pour arriver à la durée nécessaire de chaque épreuve (50 à 60 minutes pour les 2
premières et 60 à 70 minutes pour la finale), les candidats sont libres de leur choix. Ce
choix peut couvrir toute l'histoire du quatuor à cordes jusqu'en 2016!
Le Jury sera invité à se prononcer également sur la pertinence des programmes ainsi
composés.

4. JURY
Les résultats de la première et de la deuxième épreuve seront annoncés au terme de
chaque épreuve, ainsi que le jour et l’heure attribués à chaque quatuor pour l’épreuve
suivante.
Les résultats du concours seront annoncés à l’issue des délibérations du Jury au terme
de l’épreuve finale.

D’autres prix pourront s’adjoindre à cette liste.
De nombreux concerts en France et en Europe seront offerts aux lauréats. La mise en
oeuvre de ces concerts (établissement du planning, des conditions etc...) sera réalisée
par un bureau de concerts ou agence désignée par le concours. Les lauréats s’engagent à
respecter les conditions fixées par l’agent général de la tournée.
Le Premier Grand Prix ne peut être partagé.
Le Jury a la latitude d'accorder des mentions spéciales.

Les versions anglaise, allemande et italienne sont destinées à faciliter la lecture du
Règlement aux candidats non-francophones.
Cependant en cas de contestation le texte français est seul valable.

COMPETITION RULES
The 8th Bordeaux International String Quartet Competition will take place from May 2
to 8, 2016.
1. ADMISSION
The competition is open to ensembles of all nationalities whose members were born
after may 1, 1975. The average age of the musicians shall not exceed thirty-three (33)
years on may 1, 2016.
This ruling may only be waived under exceptional circumstances.
All ensembles must produce the following documents:
a.





For the Quartet:
the here enclosed application form filled in entirely
a biography
two recent photos
a DVD with a few recent recordings of the quartet’s own choice (total length not
less than 30 minutes). This recording must be accompanied by indication of the
date and place of such recordings
a written reference from one of the quartet’s teachers
b. For each member of the Quartet:
 copy of passport / ID
 a biography including music studies

2. GENERAL CONDITIONS
Free lodging will be provided to all selected ensembles from the day preceding the
competition until the end of the competition rounds. Each quartet will also be offered
400.00 Euros as expenses reimboursement.
The concert of the winners will take place on 8 May 2016.
Participants will be invited to perform concerts during their stay. Prize-winners shall
receive their prizes in person and shall take part, free, in the final concert.
The program of the different concerts will be decided by the competition’s management.
The competition rounds and all the concerts may be recorded and broadcast; such photo,
audio and video recordings are free of rights.
The performers’ rights comply with article L122-3 of the French law on intellectual
property.
Candidates are allowed to take part in radio/tv programs in Bordeaux without
connection to the competition, provided there is a prior agreement from the
competition's management.
We advise candidates to take insurance in order to cover themselves as well as their
personal belongings.
The competition's management will accept no liability whatsoever if candidates were
involved in any accident or if instruments are lost, stolen or damaged during the
competition.
By sending their application, candidates accept all termes and conditions of the
competition rules, including replacements of Jury members that may occur in case of
defection.
Previous winners of the First Grand Prix will not be allowed to participate again.
Candidates are kindly required to submit any question in due time, before being
informed on their admission to the competition.
3. ROUNDS
Candidates shall observe the following rules:
a. Length of first and second round performances: bet ween 50 and 60
minutes. Length of final round performance: between 60 and 70 minutes.

* A special prize of € 4,000.00 will be awarded to the best performance of one of
Lucien Durosoir’s quartets. Candidates are anyway free to choose any other work.
Given the above conditions, candidates shall decide their music programmes for each
round at their discretion. In order to reach the required duration of each round (50 to 60
minutes for the first and the second round, 60 to 70 minutes for the final round),
candidates may freely choose the works to be performed. Such choice may cover the
entire history of string quartet repertoire up to 2016!
The decisions of the Jury will take the music programmes into account, too.

4. JURY
The results of the first and of the second rounds will be announced at the end of each
round, together with the schedule for the following round.

A number of concerts in France and Europe will be offered to the winners. The
organisation of the tournée will be ensured by a concert agency appointed by the
competition. The winning quartet shall comply with the conditions set by the tournée’s
general manager.

The Jury is free to award special mentions.

Der VIII Internationale Wettbewerb für Streichquartette von Bordeaux wird in der Zeit
vom 2. bis 8. Mai 2016 ausgetragen.
1. TEILNAHMEBERECHTIGUNG
Teilnahmeberechtigt sind Ensembles aller Nationen, deren Mitglieder nach dem 1. Mai
1975 geboren sind; das Durchschnittsalter der vier Teilnehmer darf am 1. Mai 2016 das
dreiunddreißigste (33.) Lebensjahr nicht überschreiten.
Ausnahmen werden nur in Sonderfällen bewilligt.
Zur Zulassung der Quartette werden folgende Unterlagen verlangt:

Für das Quartett:
das beiliegende, vollständig ausgefüllte Anmeldeformular
eine Biographie
2 aktuelle Photos des Quartetts
DVD mit einigen jüngst vom Quartett eingespielten Stücken nach freier Wahl
(Gesamtdauer min. 30 Minuten), beschriftet mit Datum und Ort der Aufnahme
eine schriftliche Empfehlung eines Lehrers des Ensembles
b. Für jedes Quartettmitglied:
 Kopie eines amtlichen Dokuments (ID-Karte oder Reisepass)
 ein Lebenslauf mit Angabe des absolvierten Studiums

2. ALLGEMEINE BEDINGUNGEN
Den Kandidaten wird vom Vortag des Wettbewerbsbeginns bis zum Ende der
Wettbewerbsdurchgänge kostenlose Unterkunft gewährt. Jedes Quartett hat außerdem
Anspruch auf eine Pauschalvergütung von € 400,00.
Das Konzert der Preisträger findet am 8. Mai 2016 statt.
Die Wettbewerbsteilnehmer sind eingeladen, im Laufe der Woche bei Konzerten
aufzutreten.
Die Preisträger nehmen ihren Preis persönlich in Empfang und verpflichten sich auch,
am Abschlusskonzert teilzunehmen. Das Programm dieser Konzerte wird von der
Leitung des Wettbewerbs bestimmt.
Die Wettbewerbsdurchgänge und die Konzerte dürfen aufgenommen und übertragen
werden. Alle Rechte betreffend der Nutzung von Ton- und Bildaufnahmen im Rahmen
des Wettbewerbes gehören dem Veranstalter. Die Rechte der Interpreten nach Art.
L212-3 des Gesetzes über das geistige Eigentum sind gewährleistet.
Mit dem Einverständnis der Leitung des Wettbewerbs sind die Kandidaten berechtigt,
außerhalb des Wettbewerbs an Radio- oder Fernsehsendungen in Bordeaux
teilzunehmen.
Den Kandidaten wird empfohlen, eine Personen-, Haftpflicht- und Güterversicherung
abzuschließen.
Die Wettbewerbsorganisation lehnt jegliche Haftung für Unfälle, Verlust, Diebstahl
oder Beschädigung von Instrumenten während des Wettbewerbs ab.
Die Kandidaten erklären sich durch ihre Unterschrift mit den Bedingungen
einverstanden, sowie mit eventuellen Änderungen in der Zusammensetzung der Jury
aufgrund des Rücktritts eines oder mehrerer Mitglieder.
Preisträger des 'Premier Grand Prix' eines früheren Wettbewerbs werden nicht
zugelassen.
Die Kandidaten sind aufgefordert, eventuelle Anfragen umgehend einzureichen, ohne
das Ergebnisse der Vorauswahl abzuwarten.
3. WETTBEWERBSDURCHGÄNGE
Für den Ablauf der Wettbewerbsdurchgänge 2016 gelten folgende Auflagen:
a. Dauer der ersten beiden Vorrunden: 50 bis 60 Minuten. Dauer der
Schlussrunde: zwischen 60 und 70 Minuten.

 Ein Streichquartett Op. 59 oder Op. 74 oder Op. 95 von L. v. Beethoven.
 Ein Werk aus der Epoche zwischen 1772 und 1845 (ausgenommen die
Streichquartette Beethovens).
 1 oder 2 der folgenden Streichquartette:

* Der Sonderpreis für die beste Interpretation eines der Quartette von Lucien Durosoir
beträgt € 4.000,00. Den Kandidaten ist es freigestellt, keine Werk von Durosoir zu
spielen.
Vorbehaltlich der oben genannten Auflagen entscheiden die Kandidaten selbst das
musikalische Programm ihrer Wettbewerbsdurchgänge: um die für jeden Durchgang
geforderte Spielzeit zu erreichen (zwischen 50 und 60 Minuten für die beiden
Vorrunden, zwischen 60 und 70 Minuten für die Schlussrunde), haben die Teilnehmer
freie Wahl des Repertoire. Zugelassen sind alle Stücke aus der gesamten Geschichte der
Streichquartette bis 2016!
Die Jury berücksichtig bei ihrem Urteil auch die Zusammensetzung des ausgewählten
musikalischen Programms.

4. DIE JURY
Die Ergebnisse der ersten und zweiten Vorrunde werden am Ende jedes Durchgangs
zusammen mit dem Tag und der Uhrzeit des nächsten Durchgangs für jedes Quartett
bekannt gegeben.
Die Ergebnisse des Wettbewerbs werden bekannt gegeben, nachdem die Jury nach der
Schlussrunde die entsprechende Entscheidung getroffen hat.

Die Organisation behält sich die Möglichkeit der Vergabe weiterer Preise vor.
Den Siegern wird eine Konzertreihe in Frankreich und in mehreren Ländern Europas
angeboten. Die Organisation dieser Konzerte (Planung, Bedingungen, usw.) übernimmt
eine vom Wettbewerb ernannte Konzertgesellschaft bzw. Konzertagentur. Die vom
Generalagenten der Tournee bestimmten Bedingungen sind für den
Wettbewerbsgewinner verbindlich.
Der Premier Grand Prix ist unteilbar.
Der Jury steht es frei, besondere Auszeichnungen zu verleihen.
WICHTIGER HINWEIS:
Die Übersetzung ins Englische, ins Deutsche und ins Italienische dieses Reglements
dient lediglich als Lesehilfe der Wettbewerbsregeln für Kandidaten ohne
Französischkenntnisse.
Bei strittiger Auslegung ist jedoch ausschließlich der französische Text verbindlich und
rechtsgültig.

REGOLAMENTO DEL CONCORSO
L’ottavo Concorso Internazionale per Quartetto d’Archi di Bordeaux si svolgerà dal 2 al
8 maggio 2016.
1. AMMISSIONE
Il concorso è aperto alle formazioni di qualsiasi nazionalità i cui membri siano nati dopo
il 1 maggio 1975; l’età media dei quattro componenti del gruppo non deve essere
superiore a trentatré (33) anni alla data del 1 maggio 2016.
Solo in via eccezionale potranno essere concesse deroghe.
Ogni quartetto che intende partecipare al concorso deve produrre i seguenti documenti:

Per il Quartetto:
il modulo d’iscrizione allegato, compilato in ogni sua parte
una biografia
due foto recenti del Quartetto
un DVD con alcune recenti registrazioni a libera scelta del quartetto, per una
durata complessiva superiore a 30 minuti, recante l’indicazione della data e del
luogo delle registrazioni
lettera di presentazione redatta da uno degli insegnanti del gruppo
b. Per ogni componente del Quartetto:
 copia del passaporto / documento d’identità
 un curriculum vitae che specifichi studi e insegnanti

L’ammissione al concorso sarà notificata ai candidati entro il 1 marzo 2016. La
decisione sarà irrevocabile.

2. CONDIZIONI GENERALI
Ai candidati sarà offerto l’alloggio dal giorno prima dell’inizio del concorso fino alla
fine delle prove di concorso. Ad ogni quartetto sarà inoltre offerta la somma forfettaria
di € 400,00.
Il concerto dei vincitori avrà luogo l’8 maggio 2016.
I partecipanti al concorso saranno invitati a esibirsi in concerto durante la settimana.
I vincitori dovranno ritirare il premio personalmente e si impegnano a esibirsi nel
concerto dei vincitori.
I programmi di tali concerti saranno decisi dalla direzione del concorso.
Le prove di concorso e tutti i concerti potranno essere registrati e trasmessi. Tali
registrazioni (foto, audio, video) sono libere da diritti. I diritti degli interpreti saranno
rispettati secondo quanto previsto dall’articolo L212-3 della legge sulla proprietà
intellettuale.
I candidati sono autorizzati a partecipare a trasmissioni o registrazioni a Bordeaux, al di
fuori delle prove di concorso, previo accordo con la direzione del concorso.
I candidati sono invitati a stipulare un’assicurazione per la loro persona, i loro beni e la
propria responsabilità civile.
L'organizzazione del concorso non è responsabile in caso di incidente, né in caso di
perdita, furto o danno agli strumenti durante lo svolgimento del concorso.
L’iscrizione al concorso comporta l’accettazione di ogni articolo del regolamento del
concorso stesso, comprese le modifiche che potranno avvenire nella composizione della
giuria in caso di defezione di uno o più dei suoi membri.
I quartetti che abbiano vinto il Premier Grand Prix in una precedente edizione del
concorso non possono ripresentarsi.
I candidati sono invitati a porre ogni quesito che giudicassero necessario in tempo utile,
senza attendere i risultati della preselezione.
3. PROVE
Durante lo svolgimento delle prove, i partecipanti al concorso 2016 dovranno rispettare
i seguenti obblighi:
a. Le due prime prove devono durare tra i 50 e i 60 minuti. La finale
deve durare tra i 60 e i 70 minuti.
b. Tutti i candidati devono cominciare la prima prova con uno dei
seguenti brani:

ESECUZIONE, IN NESSUNA ALTRA PROVA DEL CONCORSO.
c. Ogni quartetto dovrà inserire nel programma delle prove:
 1 quartetto dell’op. 59 oppure dell'op. 74 oppure dell'op. 95 di L. van
Beethoven.
 Un’opera composta tra il 1772 e il 1845 (con l’esclusione dei quartetti di
Beethoven).
 1 o 2 quartetti tra i seguenti:

A. Bax, Quartetto n. 1 in sol maggiore

* Alla migliore interpretazione di uno dei quartetti di Lucien Durosoir sarà attribuito un
Premio Speciale di € 4.000,00. I candidati sono comunque liberi di scegliere di non
eseguire alcuna opera di Durosoir.
Una volta rispettati gli obblighi sopra descritti, i candidati decidono liberamente il
programma musicale di ciascuna delle loro prove di concorso: per raggiungere la durata
temporale richiesta per ogni prova (tra 50 e 60 minuti per le prime due prove, tra 60 e
70 minuti per la prova finale), le scelte musicali sono totalmente libere. Tali scelte
possono coprire l’intera storia del quartetto d’archi fino al 2016!
La giuria, nell’esprimere i propri giudizi, terrà conto anche della pertinenza dei
programmi musicali proposti.

4. GIURIA
I risultati della prima e della seconda prova saranno annunciati al termine di ciascuna
delle due prove, insieme al giorno e all’ora attribuiti a ogni quartetto per la prova
successiva.
I risultati del concorso saranno annunciati dopo che la Giuria avrà deliberato in
proposito, al termine della prova finale.

Numerosi concerti in Francia e in Europa saranno offerti ai vincitori. L’organizzazione
di tali concerti (calendario, condizioni ecc.) sarà affidata dal concorso a un’agenzia di
concerti. Il quartetto vincitore si impegna a rispettare le condizioni fissate dal general
manager della tournée.
Il Premier Grand Prix è indivisibile.
La Giuria ha facoltà di attribuire menzioni speciali.
