Quando nevica intensamente è spesso difficoltoso o pericoloso recarsi nelle zone più in alto o
sui ghiacciai. Ecco allora che, oltre ai magnifici
boschi della Val Veny (nel settore CourmayeurChécrouit), si pone come validissima alternativa
la zona del Pavillon con i suoi bellissimi boschi.
Qui dunque anche mentre nevica la visibilità
sarà buona e, data l’esposizione a Nord est di
quasi tutti gli itinerari, si troverà una ottima
powder. Con la funivia del Monte Bianco dalla
Palud si sale alla stazione del Pavillon (2174 m)
sul Mont Fréty e si scende di nuovo alla Palud
(1370m) con circa 800 metri di dislivello. Tutti
gli itinerari (tranne “Il Traforo”) confluiscono sui
prati dello Chapy. La discesa del “Traforo” può

essere effettuata o dal Pavillon, o scendendo
dal Toula con un dislivello complessivo di oltre
2000 metri. Queste discese sono spesso più
stancanti del Toula perché più “tecniche” e
qualche volta possono essere pericolose.

Quand il neige beaucoup il est souvent difficile
ou dangereux de se rendre dans les zones les plus
élevées ou sur les glaciers. C’est dans ces cas que,
en plus des magnifiques bois du Val Veny (dans le
secteur Courmayeur-Chécrouit), on a comme alternative d’exception la zone du Pavillon avec ses
superbes bois. Ici, donc, même quand il neige la
visibilité est bonne et, compte tenu de l’exposition
au nord-est de presque tous les itinéraires, on trou-
vera une excellente poudreuse. Avec le téléphérique du Mont Blanc depuis la Palud on monte à la
station du Pavillon (2174m) sur le Mont Fréty et
on descend de nouveau à la Palud (1370m) avec
environ 800 mètres de dénivellation. Tous les itinéraires, à l’exception de “Il Traforo” (le tunnel)
convergent sur les prés du Chapy. La descente du
“Traforo” peut être effectuée ou du Pavillon, ou
en descendant du Toula avec un dénivelé total de
plus de 2000 mètres. Ces descentes sont souvent
plus fatigantes puisque plus “techniques” et peuvent parfois être dangereuses.

During heavy snow falls it is often difficult or dangerous to go up in the higher zones or in the gla-
ciers. So, besides the beautiful woods of Val Veny
(in the Courmayeur-Chécrouit sector), you have
as valid alternative the Pavillon zone with its nice
woods. Here you will have good visibility also during snow falls, and a very good powder snow due
to the north-east exposition of most of the itineraries. With the Monte Bianco cable-car you go up
to the Pavillon station (2174m) on top of Mont
Fréty and you ski down again to La Palud (1370m)
with 800 meters vertical drop. All the itineraries
(except “Traforo”) end up to the Chapy fields. The
“Traforo” itinerary can be done starting from Pavillon or coming down from Toula, with a total vertical drop of more than 2000 meters. These itineraries in the woods of Pavillon are often more tiring
than those from Toula because are more “technical” and some times can also be dangerous.
