In Italy, in nearly every place where two paths cross - there is a square.
And in nearly every square there is a bar, which is actually also a café, which
actually serves pizza, pasta, antipasti and more… Because that's what the
Italians like to do, to sit outside their café-bar-restaurant, eat something
which has just come out of the oven or the pan and drink. Ten years after
Rustico established itself on Rothschild Boulevard, and five years after
being joined by Rustico Basel, we saw a square and said to ourselves:
"That's it, this is Piazza Rustico". Both Rustico and a square. You won›t
find anything more Italian than that from here all the way to Naples.

In Italia, quasi in tutto il paese, dove si incrociano due strade, c’è una piazza. Pressoché in
tutte le piazze esiste un bar che in definitiva è anche un caffè e che in realtà serve anche
pizza, pasta, antipasti ed altro. Questo è quello che agli italiani piace fare: sedersi fuori ad
un bar - caffè - ristorante, mangiare qualche cosa appena sfornato e bere.
Dieci anni dopo che il ristorante Rustico si è stabilito in Viale Rothschild, e cinque anni
dopo che Rustico Basel si è unito ad esso, abbiamo visto una piazza e ci siamo detti:
“è questo, qui si apre piazza Rustico”.
Sia Rustico che piazza. Più italiano di così non si trova nulla da qui fino a Napoli.
