6. 4 1. Check the level with a spirit level. - 3 - Do not place the Ice Cream Showcase close to strong heat-emitting sources, and do not expose it to extensive sunlight. Never place the Ice Cream Showcase to direct sunlight. - 4 - Note that the ultra-violet rays of the sun can affect the goods stored in the Ice Cream Showcase. - 5 - To minimize operating costs and maximize the life time of the compressor it is essential to allow a good ventilation of the cabinet. The cabinet is designed for free standing with access from all 4 sides. 2. ELECTRICAL CONNECTION The Pool type Ice cream Showcase is equipped with a non-rewire able plug. If the plug doesn't fit with the socket or the supply cord is damaged it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard. WARNING: This Ice Cream Showcase must be earthed. Plug the mains lead into a socket, which will supply the voltage indicated on the rating plate. Usually Europe is 230V/50Hz. Variations in the mains voltage of +/- 10% are allowed, but major variations will reduce the life time of the compressor. If there is any doubt about the correctness of the installation, we recommend that a qualified electrician check it, He can assure that the ice cream show case is operating satisfactorily and that it has not been damaged in transit. 3. CONTROL PANEL The control panel, built-in in the bottom back side cover, includes the following components: - 1 - Switch with red control lamp to cut-off the compressor. Some models can be without that switch. Be careful not to switch it off through normal operating. - 2 - Switch with red control lamp to cut-in/cut-out the light. Never cut-in the light if the compressor is not cut-in. - 3 - Electronic, digital, multifunction controller which regulate the temperature and the defrost. USING (1) Before use the interior of the Pool type Ice Cream Showcase should be cleaned by using a solution of one spoon bicarbonate of soda to 0.5 litre warm water. Do not clean the side glasses with powder or scrubbing detergents. (2) If the Ice Cream Showcase has been exposed to very low ambient temperatures do not switch it on until the compressor temperature is estimated to be at least +10C. (3) Always ensure that the ice boxes are correctly mounted and loaded so they do not impede the free air circulation as this may give rise to excessive differences in temperature in the Ice Cream Showcase. (4) The cabinet is equipped with a fin type condenser placed at the bottom of the cabinet behind the rear bottom grill. The fan motor for the condenser is reversible. It means that it will clean the condenser when the compressor is off. In areas with a high contents of dust or oil from cooking we recommend to clean the surface of the condenser min. each month. For cleaning you have to use a soft brush, a vacuum cleaner or compressed air. (5) Never load the ice cream showcases with ice cream until the temperature has reached the normal operating temperature (-12 to –18°C) about 2-3 hours after the ice cream showcase has been cut-in depending on the ambient temperature. 5. FROZEN FOOD STORAGE Commercially frozen ice cream should be stored in accordance with the ice cream manufacturer's instructions. To ensure that the high quality achieved by the ice cream manufacturer is maintained, the following should be remembered: Place the ice cream as quickly as possible after it has been taken out from the cold store or the back up freezer. If there are instructions for storing the ice cream, carefully follow these instructions regarding storage times. The storage life of ice cream varies and the recommended storage times should not be exceeded. IMPORTANT: If a substantial temperature rise occurs in the ice cream, then storage life and the quality of the ice cream may be reduced and the storage time stated may not then apply. If the ice cream has started to melt we cannot recommend freezing it down again. It has to be discarded. 6. DEFROSTING. As time goes on frost will be build up on the two fin type block evaporators in certain areas. The amount of frost build up on the evaporators will reduce the airflow through the evaporators, the capacity of the ice cream showcase and will increase the temperature in the ice cream showcase. The ice cream show cases is equipped with automatic defrost in form of hot gas defrost which is set to take place every 12 hours. During the hot gas defrost the ice on the evaporator will be melted and the water runs down in an evaporator tray where it will be evaporated by the heat from the condenser. If the ice cream showcase is used in areas with high humidity it is necessary to change the setting of the interval between each defrost from 8 hours to 6 hours. See point - 3 -. 7. FLUORESCENT LIGHT The Pool cabinet is equipped with 2 pcs. 30W horizontal fluorescent tubes. The tubes are located in the cabinet under the top frame at front and rear side. For changing the ballast or the starter placed in the compressor compartment you have to call for service. 7 Italiano English This may occur: - during defrosting if the humidity is high so defrost takes place more than each 6 hours - due to non compliance with the manufacturer's instructions - due to factors such as electric power failures or faults.
