www.fjthiollier.com François Joël Thiollier, piano Music for a Revival Fund Raising Concert for the Flood Victims University of Sannio Caritas Diocesana of Benevento Sannio Museum Benevento November 21 2015 6:30 p.m. Francois-Joel Thiollier is one of today' s most complete pianists and musicians. Franco-American by birth and culture, he played his first concert in New York at the age of 5. He studied in France with Robert Casadesus, and in the class of Sascha Gorodnitzki at the Juilliard School of Music, where he graduated at the record age of eighteen, with top honours in all subjects, both academic and musical. He went on winning 8 "Grand Prix" piano competitions, notably the Brussels Queen Elisabeth and the Moscow Tchaikowsky. He performs in all famous concert Halls, including the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, and the Salle Pleyel in Paris, the Teatro Real and the Auditorium in Madrid, the Victoria Hall in Genèva, the Accademia Santa Cecilia in Rome, the Scala in Milan, the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussells, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, the Philharmonie and the Konzerthaus in Berlin, the Suntory Hall and the Bunka Kaikan in Tokyo, the Beijing Concert Hall, the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall. F.-J. Thiollier recorded 36 LP and more than 40 CD and DVD, including the complete piano works of Rachmaninoff, Ravel, Debussy and Gershwin. For his outstanding contributions to music, Francois-Joel. Thiollier was named Officier des Arts et Lettres in 2003. François-Joël Thiollier has a long-standing, special relationship with Italy. This concert in Benevento is his heart-felt hommage, aimed at raising funds for the 15 October 2015 flood victims .
