Appointed from 1984 to 1987 as consultant & advisor on the Labour government working
party on the transcultural social, health and welfare needs for the Italian migrant
community of the state of Victoria, Australia for the following ministerial government
working parties :

- the Ministry of Social and Health Affairs

In 1986, appointed as expert coordinator and organizer at Victoria University with the
function of developing & leading the first masters specialist course for health
professionals in Transcultural health care.


in the School of health studies Policlinico of Modena
From 1990 to 1992 Appointed as Coordinator of the team for theoretical development of
the school of health studies at the Policlinico of Modena

From 1993 - 94 Appointed Head of Community Health Care Department - Senior
Manager responsible for all community health services for the province of Modena
 From 1995 to 1996 Appointed Senior Manager in Health care and staff development at
the Policlinico University Hospital of Modena, Italy, with responsibility for :
1995 . Responsible for the development of quality assurance services
1996. Responsible for inservice and continuing education development for staff
 Appointed in 1997 to 2003 Head & Coordinator - school of health Sciences.

Mediation unit and Intercultural services for the University Policlinic of Modena

didactic organizer and head responsible for the Masters program: Intercultural studies in
the health, welfare, labour and integration field at the University of Modena
 Appointed in 2004 as member of the Provincial Government working council on
Intercultural & Multiethnic affairs and migration
 Appointed in 2005 to 2007 developer and coordinator of the 6 months inservice
intercultural education project
 Appointed in 2008 as interagency developer and coordinator of masters programs in the
public welfare areas for the University of Modena and the 4 big Universities of Emilia

In 2010 Nominated by the Council of Europe, Brussels, as an Intercultural Cities
Expert for the greater European region as an intercultural cities expert for the
major intercultural cities within Europe

In 2009 -2013 publically elected as a local government political administrator for
the Council of Castelvetro di Modena with responsibility for Social, Welfare and
Integration Policies.

expert, leader with the function of developing a new and innovative educational curriculum
for all regional health science institutions
 In 1994 consultant to the Bocconi University of Milano to work on a project aimed at
developing the health sciences.

activity affiliated to the Italian National Network of Intercultural Cities) of the local gov’t

From 1992 to 1996 , consultant to CESPI ( Centre for Research and Education in Torino.)
as expert on questions of education methodology, curriculum development and leadership
principles.
 In 1992, representative for Italian Gov’t. Italy, to the W H O health office for Europe in
Copenhagen in the three day residential seminar on organizational, leadership, conflict
management and didactic methodology questions held in Cekoslovakia, involving
countries representing Est, North,Central and Southern Europe and Egypt.


in the three day seminar on questions of the quality of organization, the change agent, the
education and motivation of personnel,
 Appointed from 1992 to 1994 to represent the Office of the National Minister for Health,

‘ Tu sei importante ’ The project involved all 900 health staff of the hospital with the
aim of understanding the personal ongoing educational needs of all. The project
followed on by developing a personalized ongoing education program which suited every
single staff member according to his/her specific identified needs.

National Research Project financed by the University of Modena : What is being taught
in Italian faculty of health and Medicine with regards to the field of TransculturalMultiethnic health and welfare care. All faculties of nursing and medicine in the country
where involved as subjects.
4. Over la last 10 years I have supervised over 60 Master thesis and over 25 degree thesis
within my work as senior lecturer , course coordinator and director of various schools and
programs.
