Wednesday 10th December in the Cinema Trevi (vicolo del Puttarello 25), the
second day of the XVIII Tertio Millennio Film Fest, organized by the Fondazione Ente
dello Spettacolo.
Amongst the screenings on program, in first preview at 4.30pm Boko Haram –
Convertitevi o morite by Riccardo Bicicchi. At the presence of the director, the film
will be introduced by don Ivan Maffeis, President of the Fondazione Ente dello
Spettacolo and of the Tertio Millennio Film Fest, by father Giulio Albanese, director of
«Popoli e Missione», and by actress Anna Maria Iacopini.
The documentary is a trip to North-east Nigeria, through the states of Borno, Yobe and
Adamawa, in order to recount the tragedy of entire cities laid to waste by the militant
Islamic movement Boko Haram and of people tortured, enslaved or fleeing from their
homes, while yet another African holocaust is committed amidst the silence of the
world. With the aid of unreleased images and direct testimonies, Boko Haram –
Convertitevi o morite, gives voice to those who are victim of persecution, touching in
first person the suffering, the fear and the sense of loss. Despair is not the prevalent
voice though, as where there seems to be not even a glimmer of hope, dialogue still
thrives. A lesson of coexistence between Islamic and Catholic dignitaries. The
extraordinary experience of Women of Faith Network; an organization of brave Muslim
and Catholic women battling peacefully every day against unfathomable horrors.
At 6.00pm, introduced by Stefano Francia di Celle, L’udienza will be screened. After
42 years since its release, Marco Ferreri’s masterpiece returns to theaters thanks to
the restoration operation put together by Cineteca di Bologna and by Museo Nazionale
del Cinema di Torino in collaboration with Cristaldi Film. The film is interpreted by Enzo
Jannacci, Claudia Cardinale, Ugo Tognazzi, Michel Piccoli and Vittorio Gassman.
Amedeo is an ex official in discharge, who arrives in Rome to be received at a private
hearing by Pope Paul VI. It will not be easy: between the vague promises made by
police official Diaz and the advances made by Aiché, Amedeo will find himself trapped
in the contorted world of the Roman high social class, completely unprepared and
