Hanno dato dimostrazione di
grande creatività gli architetti
che hanno progettato l’edificio
scolastico di Tiantai, nella
Provincia di Zhejiang. Consapevoli di non avere altro spazio da
dedicare alle strutture sportive, hanno infatti pensato di
ricavare una pista di atletica…
sul terrazzo! Questo escamotage
dà la possibilità agli oltre 1800
alunni della scuola di dedicarsi
all’attività sportiva. Per mettere
in sicurezza la palestra a cielo
aperto, sono stati costruiti ben
tre muri, di cui uno in materiale
trasparente, che separano il
tetto dallo strapiombo.

The architects who designed the school building of Tiantai, Zhejiang Provinc, have
shown great creativity. Aware of not having more space to devote to sports facilities, they decided to make an athletics track... on the terrace! This trick makes it possible to more than 1,800 school pupils to engage in sporting activities. To secure the
open-air gym 3 walls were built, one of which is a transparent material separating
the roof from the drop below.

Sempre a contatto con mani sporche, spesso appoggiato su superfici non proprio

Si chiama Vincent ed è nato con una rara malformazione agli arti inferiori. Il simpatico felino, infatti, non
aveva le tibie. Sembrava destinato all’immobilità e ad
una vita infelice ed invece la dottoressa Mary Sarah
Bergh della Iowa State University, ha trovato il modo
di realizzare delle protesi adatte a lui. Grazie ad una
stampante in 3d, la donna ha progettato delle zampette
sostitutive in titanio, che sono state impiantate con successo nelle ossa del gattino permettendo allo scheletro
sano di continuare a crescere. Ora Vincent ha 3 anni e
sembra molto soddisfatto delle sue nuove zampe!

malformation of the lower limbs. The friendly feline,
in fact, didn’t have shins. He seemed destined to a life of
misery and no mobility, instead Dr. Mary Sarah Bergh
of the Iowa State University, found a way to make
prosthesis suitable to him. Thanks to a 3D printer, she
designed replacement titanium legs, which have been
successfully implanted in the bones of the kitten allowing him to continue to grow. Vincent now has three
years and seems very happy with his new legs!

LA STRADA DEI FENICOTTERI

sono collegate alla terraferma da
una lunga strada di 27 chilometri.
Al tempo della sua costruzione,
sollevò le proteste degli ambientalisti per il pericolo che si temeva
potesse arrecare alla fauna e alla
flora marine. Fortunatamente la
natura ha saputo evitare da sola
ogni difficoltà e, lungo i lati della
strada, nelle acque basse che la
fiancheggiano, fanno il nido stupendi fenicotteri rosa, passeggiando alteri tra le mangrovie.
Apposite interruzioni attraversano adesso la diga, collegando
le acque un tempo separate, per
ristabilire il corretto flusso delle
maree. Percorrendo la Bahia de
Perros, è possibile raggiungere il
centro dell’isola per avventurarsi
in nuove escursioni.

i sono luoghi che nutrono l’anima:
con la loro preziosa bellezza
riempiono il cuore di gratitudine.
Uno di questi è Jardines del Rey, lo
splendido arcipelago con alcuni fra i
cayos più belli di Cuba. Questi isolotti
di sabbia bianchissima, perle incastonate in un mare di giada, riescono ad
incantare chiunque arrivi da queste
parti. Uno dei più amati è Cayo Coco,
con un nome ispirato all’ibis bianco
dei Caraibi e l’atmosfera incantata
delle sue coste da fiaba. Il respiro
tranquillo della natura si sposa ai ritmi
caldi delle melodie cubane, mentre la
sabbia lambita dall’Oceano scintilla
candida sotto un cielo turchese. Ci
si può perdere, a Cayo Coco. Non fisicamente, dato che il turismo gode di
una perfetta accoglienza, ma lasciando
smarrire spirito e pensieri lungo un
orizzonte lucente di cristallo, cullati
da un vento leggero nell’abbraccio
dondolante di una morbida amaca. Chi
ama la natura, troverà qui un Eden da
esplorare, non soltanto nelle eco-escursioni all’interno del Parque Nacionàl
El Bagà, ma anche immergendosi nelle
acque trasparenti che circondano
l’isolotto, muniti di maschera e boccaglio per ammirare la flora marina.
Se Cayo Coco vanta scenari di
struggente bellezza, come la soffice
Playa Flamenco, non è da meno Cayo
Guillermo, collegato a Cayo Coco
da una sottile lingua di terra. Qui si
trova Playa Pilar, nota per ammaliare
chiunque solchi le sue dune di finissima sabbia bianca. Considerata tra le
spiagge più belle di Cuba, è attrezzata
di bar e strutture turistiche, ma conserva la fierezza selvatica di un lembo
di terra ai confini del mondo. Anche
Hemingway ne restò affascinato, tanto
da omaggiare Cayo Guillermo con il
romanzo Isole nella corrente: non vi sarà
difficile ripercorrerne alcune tracce o
trovare il vostro personale modo di innamorarvi di questi luoghi. Snorkeling,
immersioni e birdwatching spalancano
un ventaglio di paesaggi naturali capace di lasciare letteralmente senza fiato. Per riprenderlo, vi basterà adagiarvi
su una spiaggia dorata e contemplare
l’Oceano di smeraldo sorseggiando un
frizzante Cuba Libre.

here are places that enrich the soul and that with their precious
beauty fill the heart with gratitude. One of these is the Jardines
del Rey, the splendid archipelago with some of the most beautiful
cayos of Cuba. These islets of white sand, like pearls set in a sea of
jade, manage to enchant anyone who visits. One of the most loved is
Cayo Coco, with a name inspired by the white Caribbean ibis and
the magical atmosphere of its fairytale like coast. The tranquil feel
of nature joins with the hot rhythms of Cuban melodies, while the
white sand of the lapping ocean sparkles under a turquoise sky. You
can lose yourself in Cayo Coco. Not physically, as the tourism here is
perfectly hosted, but letting spirit and thoughts lose along a shiny crystal horizon, lulled by a light wind in the embrace of a soft swinging
hammock. Nature lovers will find an Eden to explore, not only in ecotours within the Parque Nacionàl El Bagà, but also by immersing in
the clear waters that surround the island, with a mask and snorkel to

admire the flora.
If Cayo Coco offers scenarios of immense beauty, like the soft Playa
Flamenco, connected to Cayo Coco by a thin strip of land Cayo Guillermo is no less enchanting. Here you will find Playa Pilar, known to
charm anyone who walks along its dunes of fine white sand. Considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches of Cuba, it is equipped
with bars and tourist facilities, but retains the wild pride of a land
on the border of the world. Even Hemingway was fascinated by it,
so much to pay homage to Cayo Guillermo with the novel Islands
in the Stream: it is not difficult to retrace some of the passages or to
find your own way of falling in love with these places. Snorkeling,
diving and birdwatching make way to a range of natural landscapes
that can leave you literally breathless. To admire it simply lay down
on a golden beach and contemplate the emerald ocean while sipping a
sparkling Cuba Libre.

connected to the mainland by a road
long 27 kilometers. At the time of its
construction it raised protests from
environmentalists due to the danger it
could cause to marine fauna and flora.
Fortunately, nature alone avoided any
trouble and along the sides of the road
in the shallow waters that flank wonderful pink flamingos nest, walking
through the mangroves. Special breaks
are now placed along the dam connecting the waters once separated, to restore
the smooth flow of the tides. Along the
Bahia de Perros, you can reach the
center of the island to venture onto new
excursions.

esso non e’ la risposta; sesso e’ la domanda. Sì e’
la risposta.
Il sesso senza amore e’ un’esperienza vuota, ma
con le esperienze vuote che corrono di questi tempi…
Recentemente ho letto la Bibbia. Non male, ma il
personaggio principale e’ poco credibile.
I politici hanno una loro etica. Tutta loro. Ed e’ una
tacca piu’ sotto di quella di un maniaco sessuale.
Sagaci e innumerevoli le battute scritte da
Woody Allen per il cinema. Lui si presenta
da solo, altri non potrebbero che tentare di
abbozzarne un ritratto sommario e appiattire la
sua poliedrica personalità.
Cinico, colto, dall’umorismo raffinato, con un
irresistibile gusto per il paradosso e in un perenne stato di crisi esistenziale: newyorkese di
origini ebraiche, di bassa statura e con il fisic du
role di un giocatore di scacchi, è un mix letale,
che farebbe, e di fatto fa, impazzire le donne.
Quantomeno quelle di un certo livello.
Cinque figli e tre mogli alle spalle: Diane Keaton, Mia Farrow e, l’attuale consorte, la figlia
adottiva di origini asiatiche, Soon-Yi Previn. I
più maligni dicono che la sua filmografia ha, col
tempo, perso sempre più carattere al pari della
sua carriera matrimoniale. Sicuramente il pubblico ama ricordarlo come l’autore di Io e Annie,
Hannah e le sue sorelle, Manhattan; negli ultimi anni
non ha sempre fatto centro con la critica, ma ha
comunque prodotto delle pellicole che lo hanno
ben rappresentato: Match Point e Irrational man,
quest’ultimo uscito nelle sale italiane lo scorso
Natale, hanno ripreso le atmosfere thriller anticipate in precedenza da Crimini e Misfatti e Sogni e
delitti.
Ormai ottantenne, Allen ci manca come protagonista dei suoi film, ma lo riconosciamo dietro alle
battute taglienti e all’ironia intrisa di pessimismo
esistenziale cosmico, così finiamo per trovare
irresistibili anche i burattini che interpretano il
personaggio principale al suo posto. Ci auguriamo
altri 80 anni di Woody Allen, perché non vorremmo mai separarci dai suoi personaggi annoiati
della vita, depressi, fastidiosamente colti, sarcastici fino al paradosso. E noi donne continueremmo
a desiderarlo, perché non c’è niente di più sexy
che una mente brillante. Ma il giorno in cui non
ci sarà più, sorrideremo, ancora, di nuovo, grazie a
lui, ricordando una sua battuta: ci sono cose nella vita
peggiori della morte. Avete mai passato una serata con un
agente delle assicurazioni?

and closing credits of his films: a
font suggested to him by Ed Benguiat, famous American designer
of countless typefaces. The only
exception was for the film Interiors.

Sagacious and countless are the jokes written by Woody Allen for movies. He introduces himself, others could only try to sketch a summary
of his portrait and flatten his multifaceted personality.
Cynical, cultured, with refined humor and an irresistible taste for
paradox, and in a constant state of existential crisis: New Yorker with
Jewish origins, of short stature and with the body of a chess player, a
lethal mix that could, and in fact does, drive women crazy. At least
those of a certain level. Five children and three wives: Diane Keaton,
Mia Farrow and his current wife, his adopted daughter of Asian

origins, Soon-Yi Previn. Most, critisising, say his filmography has, over
time, lost more and more character just like his love life has. Surely the
public loves to remember him as the author of Annie Hall, Hannah
and Her Sisters, Manhattan; in recent years he has not always done
well with the critics, but has anyhow produced films that represented
him well: Match Point and Irrational Man, the latter released in
Italian cinemas last Christmas, which have taken back on the thriller
atmosphere of the past movies such as Crimes and Misdemeanors
and Cassandra’s Dream.
Now in his eighties, we miss Allen as the protagonist of his films, but
we can still recognise him behind the sharp jokes and irony full of
cosmic existential pessimism, so we eventually find irresistible even the
puppets who play the main character in his place. We hope for another
80 years of Woody Allen, because we don’t want to separate from his
characters who are bored with life, depressed, annoyingly educated and
sarcastic to the paradox. And us women will continue to desire him,
because there is nothing sexier than a brilliant mind. But the day when
he will no longer be, we will smile again, thanks to him, recalling one
of his jokes: There are things in life worse than death. Have you ever
spent an evening with an insurance salesman?

catena brividi. Ed emozioni. Con quella voce calda, potente,
profonda, a volte sofferente, con una straordinaria capacità di
coinvolgere chi la ascolta o chi la guarda cantare nei suoi concerti curatissimi in ogni dettaglio. Adele è la regina della scene
della musica internazionale, è una severa donna inglese, almeno
nell’aspetto, bella ma soprattutto bravissima, tanto che in pochi
anni ha collezionato premi, titoli e riconoscimenti che difficilmente si conquistano in un’intera carriera. Nel 2011 la rivista
statunitense Billboard l’ha premiata con il titolo di Artista migliore dell’anno, mentre la rivista TIME l’ha messa nella classifica
delle donne più influenti del mondo. Alla cerimonia dei Premi
Oscar 2013 si è aggiudica la statuetta per la migliore canzone con
Skyfall e nello stesso anno è stata insignita dell’onorificenza di
Membro dell’Ordine dell’Impero Britannico. Inoltre, i critici di
tutto il mondo la considerano, insieme a Duffy e alla scomparsa
Amy Winehouse, una delle migliori esponenti del soul bianco
della nuova generazione.
Apparentemente gelida, dotatissima di un self control molto britannico, Adele sa anche commuoversi. Nel suo recente concerto
al Radio City Music Hall di New York, il primo in quattro anni,
ma anche il primo suo spettacolo trasmesso interamente in tutto

il mondo, è stata accolta con un’assordante ovazione ed è scoppiata in lacrime: «Sono stata lontana da voi per un po’ di tempo –
ha detto - Volevo farvi una sorpresa con il mio ritorno alle scene.
Mi sento come se fossi di nuovo all’inizio. Abbiamo organizzato
questo concerto per mesi e sono felice». Ma ha anche ammesso
di essersi sentita così nervosa prima dello show da desiderare che
finisse subito.
Per avere un’idea del suo straordinario successo, il suo ultimo
album, il terzo in carriera, intitolato 25, ha venduto tre milioni di
copie in una settimana nei soli Stati Uniti: nessun altro artista era
riuscito a raggiungere questo risultato. Ormai ha fama planetaria,
confermata dai 62 milioni di like nella pagina Facebook. Ma ha
saputo controllare il successo. Che, anzi, l’ha perfino aiutata a
scegliere uno stile di vita più sano. Negli ultimi tempi ha smesso
di fumare e ha deciso di diventare vegetariana. Non solo. «Ho
eliminato dolci, alimenti troppo raffinati e bibite gasate ha raccontato – faccio esercizi di ginnastica pilates e lunghe passeggiate. E mi sento sempre meglio, sia fisicamente che mentalmente».
Ma ha anche aggiunto: «Non ho mai voluto somigliare alle donne
da copertina. Io rappresento la maggioranza delle donne e sono
molto orgogliosa di questo».

with English and Dutch origins and of her
Afro-American patient, they named her after a

Store, in her home town. At four years of age

preferred target of harassment and discrimination. Certainly, not a lucky beginning, but the

l 12 settembre 2015 è una serata di fine estate a New York,
una grande serata di sport. Di americani davanti alla TV
ce ne saranno pochi, forse: in Italia, invece, tutto il Paese è
incollato al televisore per fare il tifo. A giocarsi gli US Open di
tennis non c’è la favorita, la campionessa degli States e numero
uno al mondo, Serena Williams, ma due tenniste azzurre. E
nonostante non siano esattamente le ultime arrivate, vederle in
campo a giocarsi una finale sul FlushingMeadows è una sorpresa
emozionante. Flavia Pennetta e Roberta Vinci, conterranee
e amiche da sempre, stanno per calcare uno dei palcoscenici
sportivi più importanti al mondo, una contro l’altra. L’incontro
ha finalmente inizio e le due tenniste sono visibilmente tese,
in particolare la Pennetta che parte con il pronostico a proprio
favore. La Vinci se ne accorge e prova a giocarsela, dimostrando
grande forza e determinazione. Flavia, però, al quinto game si
riprende: ha inizio la sua finale. Da qui è tutto un crescendo,
che la porta a prendere in mano le redini della gara. Una serie
di colpi da maestra mettono ben presto Roberta ko in due set
(7-6, 7-2), la Pennetta conquista lo Slam e diventa, per una notte,

eptember 12th 2015 is a late summer evening in New York, a great evening
of sport. There will only be a few Americans watching TV, perhaps: in Italy,
however, the whole country is glued to the TV to cheer. To play the Tennis
US Open is not their favourite, the US champion and world number one Serena
Williams, but two Italian tennis players. Although they are not exactly the latest
arrivals, seeing them on the set playing the final on Flushing Meadows is an exciting surprise. Flavia Pennetta and Roberta Vinci, both Italians and friends forever,
are going to play one of the major sporting venues in the world, against each other.
The match finally begins and the two tennis players are visibly tense, particularly
Pennetta who starts as the favourite to win. Vinci realises this and plays on it,
showing great strength and determination. However, Flavia, gains control again
during the fifth game: her final is about to begin. From here it’s all a crescendo,
which leads her to take lead in the game. A series of experienced shots soon put
Roberta out in two sets (7-6, 7-2), Pennetta wins the Slam and becomes, for one
night, Queen of the Big Apple. Roberta is defeated, but is happy nonetheless; she
already got her victory in the semifinals, dramatically stopping Serena’s chance at
the Grand Slam Now that the tournament is over, the party starts: hugs, smiles,
photos and tears of joy. From the courts in Puglia to the US Open, the two tennis
players are the stars of a modern fairy tale. The ending is happy, but there is a
surprise: Flavia approaches Roberta and whispers in her ear what soon everyone
will know, «I’m finished here, I retire».

into a taxi, as the transport preferred by tour guides, in Rome it is even used as an
itinerant shop, a moving shop which in some some cases also sells tasty street food.
An authentic, amazing chameleon of the road, capable of changing appearance and even
use. The Ape is an Italian invention, a true icon of transport, which in the world has
found an infinite series of successful uses. Born in 1948, when Italy was still devastated
by war. At the time the lack of transportation was evident, but many could not afford
to buy a four wheel vehicle. Piaggio then had the idea to build a commercial vehicle on
three wheels: a van derived from a scooter. The first model was built from the Vespa.
It was immediately a success. Over time this three-wheeled buggy became a charming
image, with a Mediterranean sophistication, cheerfulness, and even glamorous holiday

Bangkok c’è. Come a Cuba o a Lisbona o in molte altre
metropoli d’Oriente. Trasformata in taxi, come mezzo di trasporto preferito dalle guide turistiche, a Roma perfino come
negozio itinerante, un moving shop che in alcuni casi propone
pure gustoso street food. Un autentico, sorprendente camaleonte
della strada, capace di cambiare aspetto e anche destinazione
d’uso. L’Ape è invenzione italiana, una vera icona nei mezzi di
trasporto, che nel mondo ha trovato un’infinita serie di riproposizioni di successo. Nasce nel 1948, in un’Italia ancora stremata
dalla guerra. La carenza di mezzi di trasporto era evidente, ma
molti non potevano permettersi l’acquisto di un mezzo a quattro
ruote. Alla Piaggio venne l’idea di costruire un veicolo commerciale su tre ruote: un motofurgone derivato da uno scooter.

Inserito nel 2007 tra le Sette Meraviglie del Mondo, Chichen Itzà fu
uno dei centri più potenti della civiltà Maya. Qui sorge El Castillo, o
templio di Kukulcàn, circondato da
edifici adibiti al culto e alle funzioni
di rappresentanza. Tra questi, l’imponente Tempio dei Guerrieri, una
gigantesca piramide a gradoni sovrastata dalla statua Chac Mool. Posta
alla sommità della grande scalinata,
ad indicare l’entrata del tempio, la
statua porta in grembo una coppa,
anticamente destinata a raccogliere
il sangue delle vittime sacrificali.

di Equinozio, ecco che accade un antico prodigio.
Un serpente di luce, con la testa di pietra, scende

conservazione. Qui è possibile ammirare il Quadrilatero delle Monache, un complesso di quattro edifici
variamente decorati, con motivi geometrici ornati a
traforo e rappresentazioni delle divinità. Oppure la
suggestiva Piramide dell’Indovino, misteriosa e ammantata di leggenda, o il magnifico Palazzo del Governatore,
con una facciata di quasi 100 metri e un trono formato
da due giaguari in pietra. Alle incredibili rovine Maya
dello Yucatàn si accompagnano quelle del Guatemala,
nella foresta pluviale del Petén. È Tikal, la regina della
giungla, insediamento Maya dal 700 a.C. Un enorme
parco nazionale circonda le rovine, con la bellezza selvaggia della natura percorsa dalle grida delle scimmie
urlatrici. Tikàl annovera ancora piramidi dal fascino
unico, con la base più piccola e slanciate verso l’alto.
Dalla loro cima si spalanca un orizzonte mozzafiato:
un oceano verde e rigoglioso costellato da sgargianti
tucani e dai colori accesi dei fiori tropicali. La cornice
ideale di un magico tuffo nella fierezza di un passato

hen the Sun reaches the Equator and
illuminates the land of the jaguar,
twice a year, on the day of Equinox,
here an antique prodigy takes place. A snake
made of light, with a stone head, horribly
descends with its coils along the side of
a huge pyramid. It is the optical illusion
of Kukulcàn, one of the extraordinary
Mayan pyramids in the archaeological site
of Chichen Itza. Along with Uxmal and
Dzibilchaltun, it is one of the main sites
present in Yucatàn, between the Gulf of
Mexico and the Caribbean Sea, which saw
a civilization of grandiose proportions.
Here, where the tropical cedar grows and
the iridescent feathers of parrots shine in
the green vegetation, the Mayan founded
city-states with carved temples of majestic
beauty and monumental architecture. To the
severity of tufa and stone, cooked in stuccos,
plaster and cement, they added the glassy

shades of jade and obsidian, the fineness of
ceramics and fiery red crystals of cinnabar.
Suspended at the top, between the buildings,
they built roads to connect them and they
gave the urban centers fields for the game of
pelota. The colossal grandeur of the ancient
Mayan cities is still perceptible in the
beautiful Uxmal, the Three times rebuilt
city, today an archaeological site preserved
in excellent condition. Here you can admire
the Quadrangle of the Nuns, a complex of
four buildings differently decorated, adorned
with geometric motifs and representations
of deities. Or the evocative Pyramid of the
Riddle filled with legend and mystery, or
the magnificent Governor’s Palace, with
a facade of almost 100 meters and a throne
made of two stone jaguars. Adding to the
incredible Mayan ruins of Yucatàn there
are those of Guatemala, in the rain forest
of Petén. Tikàl, the queen of the jungle, is

ocoa arrived in Europe in the sixteenth century thanks to Hernán
Cortés, the conqueror of Mexico. The Aztecs, even before the Conquistatores, ate the seeds of cocoa, the almendras, but it was the Europeans who
chopped and mixed them with water and sugar inventing the first form
of chocolate drink. In Europe the use of cocoa spread from the Flanders at
the end of the sixteenth century, while in Italy the first to commercialise it
was the Tuscan Antonio Carletti (1606). Since then the uses of chocolate in
all cuisines of the world are many and varied, so are the recipes. The king
of patisserie, chocolate, is a complex ingredient: connoisseurs classify it by
aroma, persistent but soave; texture, consistent and not gritty; and appearance, homogenous and smooth, and even according to the sound it makes as it
breaks. The sound made gives information on the compactness of the product
and the homogeneity of the mixture. Rich in antioxidants, it is an excitant,
legal, and has beneficial effects on mood.

Q
uel che non si vede affascina. E’ l’idea del mistero, del
nascosto, così vicina anche al tentatore concetto di proibito. E quel che non si vede, in città meravigliose come
Roma e Napoli, quel che non appare perché è coperto dalla
storia e dalla vita di tutti i giorni, scatena una straordinaria
attrazione. Ecco perché i sotterranei di queste città sono
un patrimonio prezioso e spesso poco conosciuto, che però
si può svelare con semplicità. Perché il mondo sotterraneo
di Roma e Napoli, come quello di molte altre città, si può
visitare.
A volte è appena sotto l’asfalto, altre volte bisogna esercitarsi
in discese anche avventurose, ma sempre si è ripagati con
la scoperta avvincente di aspetti sorprendenti e nemmeno
immaginati. Roma propone itinerari diversi, suggestioni che
svelano lo sviluppo dell’Urbe in differenti epoche storiche.
I resti dell’acquedotto Vergine in via del Nazareno, ad
esempio, in pieno centro storico, magnifica testimonianza di
ingegneria idraulica concepita per rifornire le Terme di Agrippa, e che tuttora alimenta la Fontana di Trevi, splendidamente
restaurata proprio di recente: un tracciato sorprendente, quello
dell’unico acquedotto antico ancora funzionante dall’epoca di
Augusto. Oppure le tante vestigia di un passato che brillano
ancora di un’inimitabile bellezza, forse proprio perché rimaste
a lungo protette dal mondo che correva sopra di loro. Come
le tante Domus romane, a cominciare da quelle scoperte sotto
Palazzo Valentini, in via IV novembre. E poi la Domus Aurea,
che Nerone si fece costruire dopo aver incendiato la città, le
case romane del Celio sotto la Basilica dei Santi Giovanni e Paolo e un’intera Necropoli proprio sotto la Basilica di San Paolo.
Senza trascurare, naturalmente, tutti i percorsi catacombali che
nell’Anno Santo meritano una particolare celebrazione. Sempre
in tema di chiese, merita una visitala cripta dei Frati Cappuccini,
alla quale si accede da via Veneto, e dove sono raccolte le ossa
di oltre 4000 frati cappuccini. Il sottosuolo impressiona, per
l’imponenza di percorsi mai immaginati, per l’intrico di cunicoli
che si perdono in itinerari infiniti e corrono per chilometri e
chilometri sotto le strade ed i palazzi. A Roma come a Napoli,
dove esiste un fittissimo e complesso reticolo di cunicoli sotterranei, una vera e propria città che ricalca, in negativo, la città di
superficie. E’ la Napoli sotterranea, che si estende sotto tutto
il centro, con una serie di gallerie usate, nel corso dei secoli, in
diversi modi. Nate in seguito alla necessità di estrarre il tufo per
le costruzioni, sono state poi adibite ad acquedotto e utilizzate
come rifugio ai tempi della Seconda Guerra Mondiale: custodiscono ancora miti, leggende, timori che animano il già vivace
immaginario collettivo dei napoletani. Una ragione in più, per
emozionarsi: proprio lì, l’unico posto dove a Napoli non arriva
mai il sole.

hat is not seen is fascinating. It is the idea of mystery, of the hidden, so
close to the tempting concept of the forbidden. What is not seen, in wonderful cities such as Rome and Naples, what does not appear because it
is covered by history and everyday life, unleashes an extraordinary attraction.
That’s why the underground of these cities are a precious heritage and often
not known, but they can easily be unraveled. Because the underworld of
Rome and Naples, like many other cities, can be visited.
At times it’s just below the road, sometimes you have to descend adventurously, but they always pay off with the discovery of exciting and surprising
aspects, not even imagined. Rome offers different itineraries, routes that
reveal the development of the City in different historical periods. The remains
of the Virgin aqueduct in Via del Nazarenoa as an example, in the busy city
center, a magnificent example of hydraulic engineering designed to supply the
Baths of Agrippa, and that still today supplies the Trevi Fountain, beautifully
restored recently: a surprising route, the one of the only ancient aqueduct still
functioning from the time of Augustus. Or the many vestiges of a past that
still shine of inimitable beauty, maybe because they have long remained protected from the world that lives over them. Like the many Roman Domus,
starting with those discovered under Palazzo Valentini, in Via IV Novembre.
And then the Domus Aurea, which Nero built after having set fire to the city,
the Roman houses of Celio under the Basilica of Saints John and Paul, and a
whole Necropolis under the Basilica of St. Paul. Without forgetting, of course,
all the catacomb paths that in the Holy Year deserve a special celebration.
Staying with the church theme, the crypt of the Capuchin Friars is worth
a visit, which is accessed from Via Veneto, and where there is a collection of

over 4,000 Capuchin monk bones.
The underground is impressive, for the grandeur of routes never
even imagined, for the maze of tunnels lost in endless routes which
that run for kilometers under the streets and buildings. In Rome as in
Naples, where there is a dense and complex network of underground
tunnels, a real city lives under the city surface. There is the Naples
Underground, which extends under the entire center, with a series of
tunnels, used over the centuries in different ways. Created following
the need to extract tufa for the buildings, they were then used as
an aqueduct and as a shelter during the Second World War. These
tunnels still preserve myths, legends, and fears that enliven the already lively imagination of the Neapolitans. One more reason to get
excited: that is the only place in Naples where the sun never shines.

DANIEL BUREN. AXER/DÉSAXER. LAVORO IN SITU 2015
In occasione del decennale dell’inizio
dell’attività del museo, il Madre ha stretto una collaborazione con Daniel Buren.
L’artista francese ha presentato il lavoro in
situ Axer/dèsaxer, una macro opera architettonica posta all’ingresso dell’edificio che
ospita il museo, che pone in asse il palazzo
rispetto alla via su cui si affaccia. Attraverso un gioco di specchi, superfici colorate e
righe, Buren ha creato un collegamento tra
interno ed esterno. Idealmente museo e comunità che si fondono compenetrandosi l’uno nell’altra. L’
opera è stata concepita per celebrare la relazione tra la galleria ed il suo pubblico, sugellare il rapporto tra istituzione
e comunità. Nell’aprile 2015 Buren aveva già realizzato una
prima installazione, Comme un jeu d’enfant, ancora visibile
al Madre. I due appuntamenti fanno parte di un unico progetto di mostra a cura di Andrea Viliani ed Enrico Viola
To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the
opening of the museum, the Madre has partnered with Daniel Buren. The French artist
presented the work in situ Axer/dèsaxer, a
macro architectural work placed at the entrance of the building that houses the museum, which puts it on an axis with respect
to the street it overlooks. Buren has created
a link between inside and outside, through
a game of mirrors, colored surfaces and lines. Ideally reppresenting the museum and
communities that blend together, penetrating into each other.
The work was created to celebrate the relationship between
the gallery and its audience, to consolidate the relationship
between institution and community. In April 2015 Buren had
already made a first installation, Comme un jeu d ’enfant, still
at the Madre. The two events are part of a single project curated by Andrea Viliani and Enrico Viola

La mostra ha come tema l’analisi del volto e del corpo nell’arte contemporanea, mediante l’esposizione di
opere in cui l’artista stesso si autorappresenta, raffigura
un altro artista o un personaggio in cui si rispecchia.
L’esposizione, curata da Claudio Crescentini, offre lo
spunto per approfondire e dimostrare, nel concreto
dell’arte stessa, la pittura di genere, con riferimento
all’autoritratto e al ritratto. Fino all’ultima mania, alla
portata di tutti, dei selfie. Una parte è riservata ad Alberto Moravia e Achille Bonito Oliva, due emblemi del
mondo della cultura italiana contemporanea, famosi
anche a livello internazionale, sul quale si è posta una
maggiore attenzione visuale, attraverso l’esposizione
dei ritratti di Moravia realizzati da Renato Guttuso,
Carlo Levi e Mario Schifano e quelli di ABO di Sandro
Chia, Francesco Clemente e Mario Schifano.

Hou Hanru e Anne Palopoli sono i curatori
di una mostra visionaria dedicata alla cultura contemporanea che riunisce il genio di
quattro artisti “sognatori” di fama internazionale. Il coreano Choi Jeong-hwa, l’italiano Martino Gamper, che vive a Londra, il
franco-portoghese Didier Fiuza Fustino e
il messicano Pedro Reyes, tutti legati al
mondo del design, sono i protagonisti del
progetto. Le opere allestite nella fondazione capitolina sono ispirate all’attualità,
soffermandosi sugli aspetti più rappresentativi di un mondo
in rapida trasformazione, globalizzato e segnato da conflitti
economici. Tra le istallazioni Golden Lotus, la gigantesca installazione da dieci metri di diametro che si gonfia e si sgonfia
riproducendo un respiro; Cosmos, una cascata di perline variopinte; Hubble Bubble, una foresta formata da palloncini
verdi che simboleggiano alberi. Per conludere Life Life: coloratissimi baloon istallati dall’artista a cui si aggiungono altri
gonfiati dai visitatori.

The exhibition’s theme is the analysis of face and body in contemporary art through the showing of works in which the
artist represents himself, another artist or a character which

and self-portrait. Going right to the latest craze, available to

arole e definizioni sembrano complessi, in realtà sono piuttosto semplici.
La Lady Be Art è un ramo della pop
art, il cui interprete principale è stato
Andy Warhol, definito concettualismo
pop: tutti i materiali utilizzati perdono
la funzione originaria e diventano uno
strumento della pittura. Con risultati
spettacolari. Come quelli di Lady Be,
appunto.
Letizia Lanzarotti, questo il nome di
Lady Be, è una giovane artista italiana
che sta riscuotendo grande successo di
pubblico e di critica. Le sue opere sono
Mosaici Contemporanei nati con uno scopo
ben preciso: focalizzare l’attenzione
sul riutilizzo artistico dei materiali di
recupero, oltre che su quello concreto
ed energetico. Lady Be utilizza materiali
che hanno perso la loro funzione originale per acquisire la funzione di colore.
Nei suoi quadri, paradossalmente, un
diamante e un giocattolo rotto acquisiscono lo stesso valore, quello artistico,

perché sono utilizzati come colore, o
meglio, come tasselli di un mosaico. Le
sue opere sono state esposte a New York,
Amsterdam, Barcellona, Bruxelles, Malta,
Edimburgo e perfino a Parigi sulla Torre
Eiffel. Alla I Biennale di Palermo, le sue
creazioni sono state presentata da due
importanti critici, Vittorio Sgarbi e Paolo
Levi. Proprio quest’ultimo ha scritto di
lei: «Lady Be manipola in modo mirato
ogni tipologia di materia, tramite un
intrigante costrutto a collage, per realizzare maschere umane ben riconoscibili,
indagate da un’inedita sapienza compositiva, e affrontando la sinfonia cromatica
come un indispensabile valore strutturale
e narrativo».
Il nome Lady Be nasce dalla passione
dell’artista per i Beatles, si tratta di un’assonanza con la canzone Let it Be. Inoltre,
ha spiegato l’artista, Be indica l’arte
dell’essere, ovvero un messaggio che mira
ad arrivare all’essenza delle cose, e non
alla loro apparenza. Proprio in relazione

del 2013, Lady Be ha realizzato una curiosa performance a Brescia, durante il Beatles Day: gli spettatori erano chiamati a

lasciando i soggetti completamente nudi.
Fu un enorme successo. Qualche mese
dopo, le opere di Lady Be erano esposte
sulla Torre Eiffel. E da allora la sua fama
è in continua ascesa. Dalla nativa Dorno,
5 mila abitanti in provincia di Pavia, fra il
Po e il Ticino, alla conquista del mondo.

efinitions and words seem complex, but really they are actually quite simple.
“Lady Be Art” is a branch of pop art, whose main contributor was Andy
Warhol, called “conceptualism pop”: all the materials used lose their original
function and become a tool for painting, with spectacular results. Like those
of Lady Be, precisely. Letizia Lanzarotti, also known as Lady Be, is a young
Italian artist who is having great success with audiences and critics. Her pieces
of work are “Contemporary Mosaics” born with a purpose: to focus attention
towards the reuse of recycled materials to create art, as well as looking to
the concrete and energy. Lady Be uses materials that have lost their original
function to become “colour”. In her paintings, paradoxically, a diamond and
a broken toy acquire the same value, the artistic one, because they are used as
colour, or rather, like pieces of a mosaic. Her pieces have been exhibited in New
York, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Brussels, Malta, Edinburgh and even the Eiffel
Tower in Paris. At the First Biennale of Palermo, two important critics, Vittorio
Sgarbi and Paolo Levi, presented her creations. The latter even wrote about her:
«Lady Be manipulates with purpose all types of material, through an intriguing
creation in collage style, to create recognisable human masks, investigated by a
new compositional skill, and addressing the chromatic symphony as an essential
value to structure and narrative ».
The name Lady Be comes from the artist’s passion for the Beatles, an assonance
with the song “Let it Be”. In addition, the artist explained, “Be” means the art of
being, or a message that aims to get to the essence of things, and not just their appearance. In relation to her link with the Beatles, in June of 2013, Lady Be did a
curious performance in Brescia, during the Beatles Day: viewers were called to
remove a piece of the work (four life size silhouettes of the Beatles) leaving the
subjects completely “naked”. It was a huge success. A few months later, the pieces
of work from Lady Be were exhibited in the Eiffel Tower. Since then her fame
keeps growing. From her native Dorno, 5,000 inhabitants in the province of
Pavia, between the Po and the Ticino, to conquer the world.

ttraversando le onde turchine del
Mar di Marmara, là dove Istanbul si affaccia sulla costa, eccola
stagliarsi contro l’orizzonte, con i suoi
sei minareti innalzati verso il cielo. È
Sultan Ahmet Camii, meglio nota come
la Moschea Blu, l’eccezionale luogo di
culto con cui il sultano Ahmet I sfidò la
bellezza di Aya Sofya. Eretta proprio al
cospetto della Basilica di Giustiniano, la
Moschea Blu è ammantata di leggenda.
Si narra infatti che il giovane sultano,
volendo competere con l’imponenza
del tempio cristiano o della moschea di
Solimano, costruita quarant’anni prima,
ordinò di circondare la Moschea Blu di
scintillanti minareti d’oro. Ma l’architetto Sedefkar Mehmet Ağa avrebbe
frainteso il turco “altin” (oro) con la
parola “alti” (sei), dotando la splendida

moschea dei sei celebri minareti che a
tutt’oggi la contraddistinguono. Certo è
che la Moschea Blu è una delle gemme più luminose di Istanbul, immersa
nel cuore della città, dove un tempo
sorgeva il Gran Palazzo di Costantinopoli. Alla sontuosa eleganza delle cupole
e alla grazia snella delle sue guglie, si
somma la meraviglia che suscitano
i suoi materiali. 21.043 piastrelle di
delicata ceramica turchese compongono la cupola e le pareti, conferendo alla
moschea le sfumature da cui prende il
nome. All’interno, le maioliche di Iznik,
che ricoprono archi, pareti e colonne,
impreziosiscono l’immensa sala della
preghiera di un fascino cristallino e
sovrannaturale, complice l’illuminazione di 260 vetrate colorate che la luce
del giorno attraversa, sciogliendosi
in suggestivi riflessi luminosi. Ogni
maiolica, finemente decorata con
immagini di fiori e frutti del Paradiso,
digrada nei toni del verde e dell’azzurro,
passando per il celeste e l’acquamarina, mentre immensi lampadari in stile
ottomano, un tempo tempestati di oro
e di gemme, scendono dal soffitto fino
a tre metri da terra. I pavimenti della
Moschea Blu sono coperti da finissimi
tappeti e quattro pilastri a zampa di
elefante sostengono la cupola arabescata.
Uno spettacolo che toglie il fiato e invita lo spirito al raccoglimento. Quando
il tramonto incendia l’orizzonte, la
pietra si tinge del colore dell’ambra e la
Moschea Blu si trasforma in oro. Poi si
accende di luce artificiale e, brillando
come una luna, adombra le stelle nella
notte cobalto.
In Istanbul, the splendor of a sacred place of Islam

pon crossing the turquoise waves of the Sea of Marmara, where
Istanbul overlooks the coast, like a silhouetted against the horizon,
with its six minarets raised skyward there is the Sultan Ahmet
Camii. Better known as the Blue Mosque, the unique place of worship
with which the Sultan Ahmet I challenged the beauty of Aya Sofya.
Standing right in front of the Basilica of Justinian, the Blue Mosque
is covered in legends. It is said that the young Sultan, wanting to
compete with the grandeur of the Christian church and the mosque of
Suleiman built forty years earlier, ordered to surround the Blue Mosque
with gleaming gold minarets. But the architect Mehmet Ağa Sedefkar
misinterpreted the Turkish word “altin” (gold) with the word “alti” (six),
giving the beautiful mosque the six famous minarets that still distinguish
it today. It is certain that the Blue Mosque is one of the brightest gems
of Istanbul, nestled in the heart of the city, where once stood the Great
Palace of Constantinople. Added to the sumptuous elegance of the domes
and the grace of slender spiers, is the beauty that is given through its
materials. 21,043 delicate turquoise ceramic tiles make up the dome and
walls, giving the mosque colourful shades from which it takes its name.
Inside, the Iznik tiles that cover arches, walls and columns adorn the
vast prayer hall with a supernatural and crystal like charm, adding to
it the lighting of 260 stained glass windows through which the light of
day bursts through, creating bright reflections. Each majolica, decorated
with images of flowers and fruits of Paradise, goes from shades of green
to blue, passing through sky blue and aquamarine, whilst huge Ottoman
style chandeliers, once studded with gold and gems, come down from the
ceiling up to three meters from the ground. The floors of the Blue Mosque
are covered with fine carpets and four “flared leg” pillars supporting the
arabesque dome. A view that takes your breath away and invites the
spirit to recollection. When the sun sets fire to the horizon, the stone takes
on the color of amber and blue mosque is transformed into gold. Then the
artificial lights are turned on, and shining like a moon, overshadow the
stars in the cobalt night.

studi, aziende. Questo libro documenta, con ricchissime fotografie,
alcune interviste e brevi testi, la
sua attività, la cui anima è tutta nel
potere estetico delle piante. Satoshi propone una contaminazione
di verde e stile urban, che porta
all’interno di case, uffici, laboratori,
dell’estetica del quotidiano insomma, uno stile alternativo per arricchire il life style dell’uomo metropolitano di un tono più verde.
Titolo: Atlante dei paesi che non esistono. Sottotitolo: Alla scoperta di 50 nazioni che non hanno confini. La poesia
di questi titoli potrebbe già da sola
valere il prezzo di copertina, ma il
contenuto risponde alle aspettative.
Nick Middleton, professore di geografia di Oxford, ci conduce in un
viaggio attraverso quelle tante, piccole, porzioni di terra non politicamente riconosciute come stati, ma
che hanno una loro forte, fortissima
identità. Questo libro è un connubio
di cura grafica e tipografica, rigore
scientifico delle informazioni e di
quella capacità poetica che sa far sognare il lettore, conducendo al di là
del concetto di confine anche coloro
che questa capacità a volte dimenticano. Consigliatissimo.

Parte da due domande: ma se tutta questa ricerca della felicità costi

giusta? Cosa c'è di male nell'accettare di buon grado un pò di sana negatività nella nostra esistenza? Sarà
per la raffinatezza della sua scrittura,
sarà per l'intelligenza del sarcasmo
inglese, sarà per la solidità delle sue
fonti, ma di certo questo testo appare più convincente dei tanti, troppi,

identity. This book is a combination of
graphic and typographic care, scientific
rigor of the information and poetic ability to allow the reader to dream, by going
beyond the concept of border even for
those who sometimes forget this capacity.

1963 and Pier Paolo Pasolini made a video investigating sexuality along the boot
from South to North: he makes women
talk, men and children from different social backgrounds. The questions are simple
and direct – Do you think the importance
of sex in your life is a good or bad thing?
Have you ever experienced masochistic
feelings? According to you is a person homosexual from birth or do they become
so? -; the answers are unknowingly rich
in subtexts, that Pasolini, as a reputable
and honest intellectual, tries to translate
with the help of Moravia and the famous
psychoanalyst Musatti. The publishing
house Contrasto, exactly 40 years since
the murder of Pasolini, has published the
transcript of the film enriched with highly sought pictures and documents.

COLDPLAY – A HEAD FULL OF DREAMS

THIS IS THE KIT – BASHED OUT
NOTHING BUT THIEVES – NOTHING BUT THIEVES
C’è bisogno dei Coldplay per rendere un album dei
Coldplay ancora più colorato, vivace e brillante. Dopo
Ghost Stories, sul quale è difficile non proiettare l’ombra
della rottura tra il frontman Chris Martin e Gwyneth Paltrow, il nuovo album della band britannica è una cavalcata
di melodie esplosive e ritmi dance battimani. Un disco
che vede anche collaborazioni eccellenti: Noel Gallagher imbraccia la chitarra e Beyonce canta nello sfondo
dell’ottimistica Up&Up, con la cantante statunitense che
torna per il bis nella traccia dal sapore R’n’B Hymn for the
Weekend. E, a dare un senso di chiusura all’album – ma non
solo –, il cameo della stessa Paltrow, che canta una strofa
in Everglow, a lei dedicata. Un album coerente e sostenuto, mancante forse di quel picco al quale ogni traccia
sembra prepararci . Ma che non arriva mai.
Una cantante che ha fatto del rimorso la sua musa. Ma
mentre nel precedente 21 a cantare era una ragazza piegata
dal cuore spezzato, in 25 Adele è una donna che si affaccia con risolutezza e forza sul quel che è stato. Basta uno
sguardo alla tracklist per afferrarne il tema: Water under the
bridge, When we were young, Hello (che suona più come un
Goodbye). Un mood decisamente nostalgico, che guarda al
passato, proprio come lo stile della cantante. Il singolo Hello ha già battuto ogni record possibile, esplodendo al pari
del cantato del ritornello. In When we were young Adele fa
tesoro di ricordi passati, immortalati come tante Polaroid
in una ballata da ascoltare e riascoltare. La dolcissima Remedy si aggrappa ad una singola linea di pianoforte, mentre
Send My Love (To Your New Lover) è uno dei suoi pezzi più
pop, ma non per questo meno virtuoso.
Elementi d’elettronica, pezzi di psichedelica, uno
stampo indie e una inconfondibile vena folk: This is the
kit non è forse un album che colpisce con virtuosismi e
acuti, ma un lavoro che cresce ascolto dopo ascolto, fino
a quando non se ne può più fare a meno. Kate Stables,
voce e fondatrice del gruppo, mette anima e sangue nel
disco. Una voce vellutata, che, come in Silver John – uno
dei pezzi migliori –, si adagia su una tappezzeria di elettronica che fiorisce in un outro che vale tutto l’album.
La vena country prende il sopravvento grazie al banjo di
Spores all settling, mentre il pizzicato della title track ci
trasporta in atmosfere più buie e fumose. Ogni nota di
questo Bashedout è pennellata con cura: il risultato è un
disco minimalista e profondo, nel quale immergersi, con
calma, per comprenderlo a fondo.
Lo diciamo adesso: questi ragazzi stanno giocando le
carte giuste per ritrovarsi protagonisti sui palchi per
i quali, al momento, si limitano ad aprire gruppi del
calibro di Awolnation e Muse. Nothing but Thieves è un
Bignami dell’alternative-rock di successo. Poco originali?
Forse. Scarna tecnica? Senza dubbio. Eppure il giovane
quintetto britannico le fa tutte giuste: Excuse Me ci introduce alla voce angelica del frontman che si staglia sugli
sporchi riff di chitarra, continuando con il puro rock di
Wake up call.
Un intermezzo più soft arriva grazie a Graveyard Whistling, per poi lasciare nuovamente spazio al pulsare della
vena alternative con l’aggressiva Painkiller. Un album di
debutto molto speciale per una band destinata a togliersi
più di una soddisfazione.
You only need Coldplay to make a Coldplay album even more
colorful, lively and bright. After Ghost Stories, through which
it is difficult not to project the shadow of the break up between
frontman Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow, the new album
by the British band is a wave of explosive melodies and clapping
dance rhythms. An album that also sees excellent collaborations:
Noel Gallagher on the guitar and Beyonce sings in the background
of the optimistic Up & Up, with the American singer also singing
on the track in the R’n’B flavored Hymn for the Weekend. To
give a sense of closure to the album and much more, the cameo
of Paltrow who sings a verse in Everglow, which is dedicated to
her. A coherent and strong album, perhaps missing that peak for
which every track seems ready, but that never comes.
A singer who turned her remorse into her muse. While in the
previous 21 she sang as a heartbroken girl, in 25 Adele is a
woman who looks with strength and determination over what
has been. All you need is glance at the tracklist to grasp the
theme: Water under the bridge, When we were young,
Hello (which sounds more like a Goodbye). A decidedly nostalgic mood, which looks at the past, just like the singer’s style. The
single Hello has already broken every record possible, exploding
just like the singing of the chorus. In When We Were Young
Adele treasures past memories, immortalised like a polaroid in
a ballad to listen and listen to again. The sweet tune Remedy
clings to each piano line, while Send My Love (To Your New
Lover) is one of her most pop feel pieces, but no less virtuous.
With electronic elements, pieces of psychedelic, an indie feel and
a distinctly folk vein: This is the kit is maybe not an album with
striking virtuosity and acutes, but a piece of work that grows
on you listening after listening, until you cannot be do without
it. Kate Stables, voice and founder of the group, puts soul and
blood in the disc. A velvety voice which, as in John Silver (one
of the best pieces) lies on a tapestry of electronic music which
blooms in an outro that is worth the entire album. The country
sound takes over thanks to the banjo in Spores All Settling,
while the pizzicato of the title track takes us into the darker and
smokier atmospheres. Each note of this Bashedout is carefully
created: the result is a minimalist and deep disc, in which to
dive, calmly, to understand it thoroughly.
We can say it now: these guys are playing the right cards to
be the protagonists on stage for which they currently are
limited to the opening act for the likes of Awolnation and
Muse. Nothing but Thieves is a Bignami of successful
alternative-rock. Not very original? Maybe. Lacking technique? No doubt. Yet the young British quintet does everything right: Excuse Me introduces us to the angelic voice
of front man that works on a dirty guitar riff, continuing
with the pure rock of Wake up call. A softer alternative
is offered with Graveyard Whistling, to then come back
again to the alternative pulsing vein with the aggressive
Painkiller. A very special debut album for a band destined
to gain off more than one satisfaction.

Per proteggervi contro la nuova minaccia derivante dagli esplosivi liquidi, l’Unione
Europea ha adottato nuove regole di sicurezza che limitano le quantità di liquidi
che possono essere introdotti nelle aree sterili. Tali regole si applicano nei confronti
tutti i passeggeri in partenza dagli aeroporti dell’Unione Europea verso qualsiasi
destinazione.
Ciò significa che ai controlli di sicurezza, il passeggero e il relativo bagaglio a mano
devono essere controllati per verificare la presenza di liquidi. Comunque, le nuove
regole non limitano la quantità di liquidi che possono essere acquistati presso gli
esercizi commerciali situati oltre il punto di controllo del titolo di viaggio od a bordo
di un aeromobile di compagnia appartenente all’Unione Europea.
Le nuove regole si applicano a partire da lunedì 6 novembre 2006, in tutti gli aeroporti dell’Unione Europea, in Norvegia, Islanda e Svizzera a meno di eventuali
modifiche.

This time Checco Zalone plays the role of a provincial
services employee for hunting and fishing, who after

the sought after permanent job. In order to save his job,
he accepts a move facing several transfers in Italian
localities, but eventually ending up in a scientific base
in cold Norway, so different from the sunny province
of Bari. Just as the guy is going to pack it all in, true
love enters his life making him change his mind. Once
again the comedian manages to entertain the audience,
playing irony on current issues and succeeding in giving
his film a touch of depth that only good comedy can
communicate.

fans of the made in Puglia comedy that perhaps will
be the prelude to a future collaboration. The actor, icon

To protect you against the new threat of liquid explosives, the European Union
(EU) introduced new security rules to limit the amount of liquids that you can take
through security checkpoints. They apply to all passengers departing from EU airports to all destinations.
This means that, at security checkpoints, you and your hand luggage must be
inspected for liquids screening in addition to other prohibited articles. However,
the new rules do not limit the liquids that you can buy at shops located beyond
the checkpoints.
The new rules are in force as to Monday 6th November 2006 at all airports in the
EU and in Norway, Iceland, Switzerland until further notice.

Sometimes you “biological clock” may not welcome the time changes involved
in air travel and it finds ways of letting you know about this. Some of the most

and appetite loss. To minimize jet lag effects, make sure you get a good night
sleep before leaving and, if you plan to stay abroad less than two days, keep
you biological clock set on your home time (i.e. keep your regular eating and
sleeping habits). In the event of a longer trip, it is advisable to get used to local
time as soon as possible and to conduct a regular and healthy life. Remember
that getting over jet lag is generally quicker when travelling westwards than
eastwards.

with us, just follow these tips and suggestions designed to
enhance your well being on board
Stare a lungo seduti in una stessa posizione può farvi sentire a
disagio sull’aereo. Sgranchitevi gambe e braccia ogni due ore
circa. Alzatevi di tanto in tanto e camminate su e giù per il corridoio oppure fate i semplici esercizi* di stretching illustrati per
prevenire problemi circolatori.
Prolonged sitting in a fixed position can make you feel uncomfortable in the plane. Every few hours, stretch your arms and legs
or carry out some easy exercises* suggested below.
Consumate pasti leggeri, mangiate con moderazione e limitare
bevande gassate, tè e caffè.
Eat a light meal and moderate you intake of fizzy drinks, tea and
coffee.
Bevete molta acqua naturale, meglio se in piccole quantità e
spesso.
Drink plenty of water to keep you hydrated.
Moderate il consumo di bevande alcoliche, poiché queste sono
assorbite più facilmente dal corpo ad alta quota a causa della
bassa pressione dell’aria all’interno della cabina.
Moderate your intake of alcohol.
In caso di permanenza prolungata a bordo è consigliato sostituire le lenti a contatto con degli occhiali per evitare irritazioni
oculari. Togliete sempre le lenti a contatto prima di dormire.
In case of a long flight it is recommended to wear eyeglasses
rather than contact lenses. Remove contact lenses before sleeping.
*Vi suggeriamo di sospendere immediatamente questi esercizi
se causano dolore o disagio.
*We suggest you stop doing these exercise immediately should
you feel pain or discomfort.

Iniziate gli esercizi stando seduti in modo comodo ed eretto.
Start the exercise by sitting in comfortably in your seat in an upright position.

Poggiate entrambi i piedi sul pavimento. Flettete i piedi puntando i talloni in su e poi in giù. Ripetete per cinque volte.
Rest both feet on the floor. Flex both feet with toes pointing
upward, then point your toes downward Perform this exercise
five times.

Sollevate dolcemente il ginocchio verso il busto per alcuni secondi, poi lasciatelo andare, poggiando nuovamente il piede
sul pavimento. Fate lo stesso con l’altra gamba. Ripetete cinque
volte per gamba.
Raise you knee gently towards the chest for a few seconds and
then release, placing your feet back on the floor. Continue with
the other leg. Repeat five times for each leg.
4.
Mettete le mani sotto una coscia e sollevatele dolcemente verso il busto. Ruotate la caviglia in modo circolare per 5 secondi.
Ripetete con l’altra gamba. Ripetete questo esercizio cinque
volte per gamba.
Place your hands under one thigh, and gently lift toward your
chest. Rotate your ankle in a circular motion for 5 seconds. Repeat with the other leg. Perform this exercise five times with
both legs.
