Epidemiologists & statisticians have A thing in common: they tend to travel! ONE world,
Many journeys.
Researchers share a curiosity about other people with common scientific interests that inspires
us to travel and seek them out. And it is travel that makes this understanding, connection and
opportunity for advancement possible for all of us. The map of the world pinpoints the crossings
of paths and places of shared moments in our multiple voyages. It is not exceptional that these
encounters in the different stages of our lives lead to a long-term professional and personal
friendship, the most rewarding kind of scholarship. Then there are no longer 'them' and 'us',
there is really only one like-minded people living in the global village.
