“Well here I am back in the U.K. Still buzzing after such an amazing experience at the skydive
Spain Xmas boogie. In how many sports can you get to mingle and participate with world
class talented champions that are so passionate and eager to pass on their valuable skills?
I learnt so much in the sky and under canopy thanks to the load organisers. I was able to get
43 jumps in 6 clear weather days due to the quick cycles and well handled manifest and if
you’ve seen my packing, that’s good going.
The staff were excellent. Always sweeping, cleaning, helpful and fun keeping the operation
running. What an opportunity to meet and fly with various skydivers from across the globe
in such a great atmosphere. Happy Days!“

In quanti sport si può entrare in contatto, condividere e partecipare a un evento con Campioni di classe mondiale, così talentuosi ma soprattutto così appassionati e desiderosi di
trasmettere le loro preziose competenze?
Ho imparato tanto in cielo e a vela aperta grazie ai Load Organizer.
Ho potuto fare 43 salti in 6 giornate limpide, con un bel clima, grazie ai decolli rapidi e ben
gestiti dal manifest... e se aveste visto i miei ripiegamenti posso dire che è andato tutto bene.
Il personale è stato eccezionale. Sempre a spazzare, pulire, sempre disponibile e divertente
anche se stava lavorando per mandare tutto avanti.
Infile ho avuto l’opportunità di incontrare e volare con molti paracadutisti, provenienti da
tutto il mondo, in una bellissima atmosfera. Happy Days!“

Having attended the 2012 Xmas boogie I knew I wanted to return for Xmas 2013. What I didn’t
realise when I booked flights and hotel was how much bigger and better 2013 was planned to be!!!
For those that don’t know, Skydive Spain is a sister dropzone to Skydive Hibaldstow and benefits
from the Wingglider relationship – what this means to a jumper is that we get to fly in the awesome
G92 and to exit from 15,000ft. This year saw us using 3 of the beasts, meaning that we could manifest a 12 way and be on a call within minutes, three of the busiest days they were over 60 lifts!!
We arrived just after lunch and had kit and docs sorted within 15 mins, again showing how slick the
operation is. Over the next 3 days the group grew and grew, seeing people arrive from just about every European country and even from the US. We all know that a big group of jumpers is like herding
cats, but the staff here are always willing to help and the Load Organisers and manifest are especially
great at sorting stuff out for you.
As a committed flat flyer that is particularly passionate about 4 way it was great to have 2 world
champion load organisers in Herman Landsman and Julia Foxwell. Quite simply, this pair did an
awesome job of turning around 30 of us into better flyers, but most importantly, making it fun at
the same time. Alongside FS there were FF, Wingsuit, Crew and tracking load organisers – there
really was something for everyone. The other bonus was that if the group was big enough, Skydive
Spain provided free outside camera – an awesome addition allowing us to debrief effectively and to
improve much more quickly (and of course to get the ‘out takes’ for the bar tape).
The debrief area has 3 booths, each with its own screen and card reader/camera cables making the
debrief process efficient and easy.
I guess I should talk about some of the jumps; the group I joined were mainly Dutch and English and
included a pretty wide range of abilities; we started as a disparate group of 12 and within 2 days were
turning blocks. Our load organiser was Julia Foxwell (British 4 way champion and world medallist),
she started by determining our individual skills and developed jumps that would stretch and progress us – it is all set up to ensure you benefit in terms of improving your abilities whilst having fun.
At the beginning, the jumps would typically be 1 or 2 points with all of the jumpers infacing; as our
communication and levels improved we were able to increase both the complexity of the jumps and
the number of points. Towards the end they became 5 or 6 point jumps, including outfacing slots
and turning blocks.

But it wasn’t all load organising, there was lots of play too, including a 12 way hybrid as the last jump
of 2013 for the New Year’s Eve sunset lift (which was also Giuseppe’s 500th). Other notable jumps
were Charlottes 700th, Blanaids 300th and my 500th (last jump of the trip).
At the end of each day we all gathered in the bar to pay our beer fines and to watch a compilation
video of the days events – this was definitely worth hanging around for, it was always great fun to
watch and to hear everyone cheering when something funny was happening on the screen!
The centre really is set up to accommodate jumpers and our needs, right from having fantastic
airframes, stunning staff (and lots of them), a big bar, 2 packing halls, on site rigger, through to a
PLA that is incredibly easy to spot, including a well-defined and dedicated swoop lane if high performance landings are your thing. Unlike other DZs I have been to during boogies, there are ample
packers and wait time was never more than 10 mins for me. Basically, it feels more like a bunch of
mates getting together rather than a mechanical dropzone, in my view this is largely down to the
culture that Hannah and Jonno have worked to instil in the team – great job guys!
Outside of jumping, we stayed in Bormujos (about 15 mins from the DZ) which is a built up area that
has many bars and restaurants. In terms of food, there is something for everyone (the only thing we
didn’t find was a decent curry), with local Tapas being very good. Of course, a visit to Haystacks is
a must for any meat lover. Should you wish to take a half day off or have a bad weather day, Seville
is only a short hop away and is a stunning city. I am not typically into sight-seeing, but still think an
afternoon walking around was well worth it.
Whether you are an individual, a team looking to do a training camp or a big group of fun jumpers,
Skydive Spain really is the place to go. In case you hadn’t worked it out by now, I love this place and
in particular I love this place during the Xmas boogie – I’ll be back, see you all next year!!

Dopo aver partecipato al Xmas boogie 2012 sapevo che sarei voluto tornare anche per il Natale 2013.
Quello che non sapevo, quando ho prenotato un volo e l’hotel, era che l’evento del 2013 sarebbe stato
organizzato per essere più grande e migliore!
Per tutti coloro che non la conoscono Skydive Spain è una zona di lancio “sorella” di Skydive Hibaldstow (Regno Unito) e beneficia degli ottimi rapporti tra i due gestori, per un paracadutista questo
significa poter saltare da un bellissimo Dornier G92 da una quota di 15.000 ft (4500 metri)
Quest’anno erano in campo 3 Dornier, il che significa che si poteva manifestare un lancio a 12 elementi ed essere in decollo in pochi minuti.
In tre dei giorni con il maggiore afflusso di persone si sono fatti più di 60 decolli!
Siamo arrivati appena dopo pranzo e ci hanno fatto il controllo materiali e documenti entro 15 minuti, dimostrando ancora una volta grande competenza. Nei successivi tre giorni il gruppo è cresciuto
sempre di più, con le persone provenineti da quasi tutti i paesi Europei e anche dagli Stati Uniti.
Sappiamo tutti che un grande gruppo di paracadutisti non è facile da gestire, ma lo staff è sempre
pronto ad aiutare tutti, i Load Organizer e il manifest sono bravissimi a risolvere ogni problema.
Come paracadutista relativista, particolarmente appassionato al 4 way è stato fantastico avere due
Load Organizer di livello mondiale quali i campioni Herman Landsman e Julia Foxwell.
Questa coppia ha fatto un lavoro semplicemente impressionante trasformando 30 di noi in dei paracadutisti migliori, ma cosa più importante, facendoci allo stesso tempo divertire.
Insieme ai Load Organizer di Relativo c’erano quelli per il Freefly, Wingsuit, CRW e Tracking, c’era
davvero qualcosa per tutti i gusti. L’altro vantaggio era che se il gruppo era abbastanza grande,
Skydive Spain metteva a disposizione gratuitamente un video esterno, un bellissimo regalo che ci
ha permesso di fare i debriefing in modo efficace e di migliorare molto più rapidamente (e, naturalmente, vedere i video al bar). L’area debriefing ha 3 postazioni, ognuna con il proprio schermo e cavi
card reader/fotocamera rendendo il processo di debriefing efficiente e facile.
Credo che dovrei parlare di alcuni dei lanci, il gruppo in cui mi sono iscritto era composto principalmente da Olandesi e Inglesi e comprendeva una gamma piuttosto ampia di differenti capacità,
abbiamo iniziato come un gruppo eterogeneo di 12 elementi ed entro 2 giorni stavamo girando dei
blocchi. Il nostro organizer era Julia Foxwell (Campionessa Britannica a 4 elementi e podio mondiale 4way femminile), ha iniziato individuando le nostre capacità individuali e sviluppato dei salti che
ci facessero progredire, il tutto impostato per avere un sicuro beneficio in termini di miglioramento
delle singole capacità, pur divertendoci.
All’inizio, i salti erano con 1 o 2 punti e con tutti orientati infacing; come sono migliorati la comunicazione e i livelli siamo stati in grado di incrementare sia la complessità dei salti che il numero dei
punti. Verso la fine sono diventati lanci con 5 o 6 punti, con slot outfacing e blocchi da girare.
Ma non c’erano solo lanci organizzati, ci sono stati tanti lanci divertenti, tra cui un ibrido a 12, come
sunset, l’ultimo salto del 2013 (che è stato anche il 500simo lancio di Giuseppe).
Altri salti da ricordare: il 700 di Charlottes, il 300 di Blanaids e il mio 500 (l’ultimo salto del boogie).
Alla fine di ogni giornata ci ritrovavamo tutti al bar per pagare le nostre birre e guardare la video
compilation dei lanci del giorno, è sempre molto divertente guardare e sentire le urla e le risate di
tutti quando accadeva qualcosa strano sullo schermo!
Il centro è organizzato per ospitare i paracadutisti e tutte le loro esigenze, per trascorrere giorni fantastici, con uno splendido staff (e numeroso), un grande bar, 2 sale ripiegamento, un rigger locale,
con una zona di atterraggio che è incredibilmente facile da individuare e in cui vi è una corsia ben
definita e dedicata per gli atterraggi ad alte prestazioni, se sono la vostra passione. A differenza di
altre Drop Zone in cui sono stato durante dei Boogie, ci sono tanti ripiegatori e il tempo di attesa non
è mai più di 10 minuti. In sostanza ci si sente più come un gruppo di amici che si ritrovano piuttosto
che una fredda dropzone, questo secondo me è in gran parte derivato dalla cultura che Hannah e
Jonno hanno saputo infondere alla squadra, bel lavoro, ragazzi!
Al di fuori di saltare, siamo stati a Bormujos (a circa 15 minuti dalla DZ) un centro abitato che ha
molti bar e ristoranti. Per il cibo c’è qualcosa per tutti i gusti (l’unica cosa che non abbiamo trovato
era un curry decente), in particolare le buonissime Tapas locali. Naturalmente, una visita a Haystacks è un must per ogni amante della carne.
Se desiderate prendere una mezza giornata o c’è una giornata di maltempo, Siviglia è solo a due passi di distanza ed è una splendida città. Io non sono il genere del turista ma continuo a pensare che
ne è valsa proprio la pena trascorrere un pomeriggio a passeggiare nelle sue vie.
Che tu sia da solo, una squadra che vuole fare un camp di allenamento o un bel gruppo di paracadutisti che si vuole divertire, Skydive Spain è davvero il posto dove andare. Se ancora non lo avete
capito, amo questo posto e in particolare adoro questa DZ durante il boogie di Natale.
Di sicuro ci ritorno, ci vediamo durante tutto l’anno!

Skydive Arena Freefall Record
06:06:06 Czech guy Petr Beranek breaking the world record for the longest indoor free fall.
He felt bad when he got out of the wind tunnel. But after a while he spoke differently and drank the
champagne. Petr Beranek endured fly longer than 6 hours and broke the world record for the longest
free fall. He broke the previous world record at Skydive Arena wind tunnel in Prague, Czech
Republic.
“I had two critical points – one was during the third hour and the other was around the fifth hour.
My back hurts and I can not hear properly but I hope it will get better soon”, Beranek explained
everything after 6 hours 6 minutes and 6 seconds. The goal was achieved and the previous world
record has been broken.
Now they will put together all the materials and send them to Guinness. Then they have to wait
about a month for approval.
Everything was filmed during the record attempt. The time was measured by two stopwatches and
there were also two responsible persons who monitored everything.
“About a month I strengthened mainly the upper half of my body. I still do a lot of sports so it helped
me a lot. I trained in the tunnel as well, mainly the resting techniques”, said Beranek.
Other skydivers and friends were standing around the glass chamber. Sometimes they wrote some
message on the whiteboard to support him. They even brought him a TV so he could watch movies.
“We can fly with him, we can briefly touch him but he can not hold anything or anyone”, said skydiving and tunnel instructor Roman Štengl who helped Beranek with preparation for this event.
Fifteen minutes before the 6 hour limit Beranek came alive and showed a couple of turns. Thanks
to the messages on the whiteboard he agreed with the organizers that he will end at the time of
06:06:06. The stopwatches were stopped and the record holder stood with his feet on the net.

Ora tutto il materiale verrà messo insieme e inviato al Guinness World Record, quindi si dovrà aspettare circa un mese per l’approvazione ufficiale.
E’ stato tutto ripreso durante il tentativo di record. Il tempo è stato misurato da due cronometri,
c’erano anche due responsabili che hanno monitorato il tutto.
Beranek ha dichiarato: “Circa un mese fa ho rafforzato soprattutto la parte superiore del mio corpo.
Faccio ancora tanto sport e questo mi ha aiutato molto. Mi sono allenato nel tunnel, soprattutto per
le tecniche di riposo“. Altri paracadutisti e gli amici stavano in piedi intorno alla camera di volo, a
volte hanno scritto qualche messaggio su una lavagna per sostenerlo. Gli hanno portato anche un
televisore in modo che potesse guardare dei film.
“Possiamo volare con lui , possiamo brevemente toccarlo, ma non può tenersi o reggersi a nessuno
e a niente “, ha detto l’istruttore di paracadutismo e di tunnel Roman Stengl che hanno contribuito
con la preparazione di Beranek per questo evento.
Quindici minuti prima del limite di sei ore Beranek si è ripreso e ha fatto un paio di giri. Grazie ai
messaggi sulla lavagna era d’accordo con gli organizzatori che il tempo di sarebbe fermato a 6:06:06
I cronometri sono stati fermati e il detentore del record si è messo in piedi sulla rete.
STORIA DI RECORDS FREEFALL INTERNI
06:06:06 Un ragazzo Ceco, Petr Beranek, ha battuto il Record del Mondo per la più lunga “caduta
libera” indoor (maggior tempo in volo in un wind tunnel)
Si è sentito male quando è uscito dalla galleria del vento, ma dopo qualche minuto ha ripreso a
parlare in modo differente e ha bevuto lo champagne. Petr Beranek ha volato per più di 6 ore e ha
battuto il record mondiale per il più lungo tempo in “free fall”. Ha infranto il precedente record del
Mondo volando nel Wind Tunnel di Skydive Arena, a Praga, Repubblica Ceca.
“Ho avuto due punti critici. Uno è stato durante la terza ora e l’altro intorno alla quinta ora, mi fa
male la schiena e non riesco a sentirci bene, ma spero che andrà meglio presto”.
Beranek ha volato per 6 ore 6 minuti e 6 secondi. L’ obiettivo è stato raggiunto e il precedente record
del mondo è stato battuto.

Dubai Swoop League
Skydive Dubai has introduced a new Canopy Piloting league, and is offering a guest coach at each
competition, to help improve standards and encourage safety. Skydive Dubai Desert Campus and
the Emirates Aerosports Federation (EAF), are proud to announce the creation of the Dubai International Swoop League (DISL) for this season 2013 - 2014, to take place at Skydive Dubai Desert
Campus. This season’s DISL will be 5 competitions total, with massive cash prizes on offer to all
categories at each event
Each competition will be 6 jumps total: 2 Distance, 2 Speed, 2 Accuracy. For Beginners, it will be 6
jumps of Sport Accuracy, which can be modified per jump to challenge the participant’s skills.
Competition Dates: Meet 1: 29 December 2013 - Meet 2: 26 January 2014
Meet 3: 23 February - Meet 4: 30 March - Meet 5: 27 April
Skydive Dubai ha introdotto un nuovo Campionato di Canopy Piloting e metterà a disposizione un
