5 gennaio 2016 GARDININOTES.com http://www.gardininotes.com/turriga-isola-dei-nuraghi-igt-2011/ Turriga Isola dei Nuraghi IGT 2011 Argiolas Young but generous. Prevailing over the bouquet, obviously, are the fruity sensations of wild cherry and blackberry, rendered more Mediterranean by notes of myrtle and cinchona. Fruity and flavorful in the mouth, with a finish that recalls thyme and oak. Great capacity to improve in the bottle. RASSEGNA STAMPA 2016 5 gennaio 2016 THEVANCOUVERSUN Argiolas Costera Cannonau di Sardegna Red 2011, Sardinia, Italy $ 21.99 | 88/100 UPC: 8010544420754 Expect a spicy licorice, peppery, black cherry, meaty nose with pruny/floral notes. The attack is dry and slightly tannic but with juicy acidity and more pepper, smoky, savoury, black cherry fruit with vanilla flavours with a bit of cigar and orange peel on the finish. Rustic but tasty. Serve with grilles meats. RASSEGNA STAMPA 2016 7 gennaio 2016 VINOUS Vinous – January 2016 In “Sardinia: Sun, Sea, Sand and Alluring Wines,” Ian D’Agata reviews: ARGIOLAS Turriga Isola dei Nuraghi 2011 – 92+ points “Less obviously ripe on the nose than some recent vintages of Turriga, with herbal red berry and inky aromas complicated by tobacco leaf and a peppery nuance. Rich, dense and ripe, show an aromatic minty edge to the saline raspberry and mocha flavors. Very bright and precise on the mid-palate, then cool and brisk on the firm back end, this Turriga promises to develop slowly but surely. But as good as it is, I would have liked a little more generosity of fruit for an even higher score.” ARGIOLAS Costera Cannonau di Sardegna 2013 – 91 points “Deep aromas of blackberry, black cherry and mocha are complemented by balsamic nuances. Concentrated, sappy and savory, displaying saline nuances to the black cherry and plum flavors. Finishes with serious depth and the broad, polished tannins to support aging.” ARGIOLAS Is Solinas Isola dei Nuraghi 2012 - 91 points “Pungent mineral-accented aromas of cassis, candied flowers and aromatic herbs, with a bright violet topnote. Juicy, energetic and sharply focused, with blackcurrant and black cherry flavors picking up sweetness and weight with aeration. Very suave and smooth on the long finish, which features hints of cola and minerals. One of the better young versions of Is Solinas I can recall.” ARGIOLAS Iselis Monica di Sardegna Superiore 2013 - 91 points “Nuances of underbrush and ink complicate slightly subdued dark berries on the nose. Then much fruitier in the mouth, showing smooth, vibrant flavors of flinty blueberry and blackberry jam. Lively, harmonious acidity provides lift and clarity on the precise, long finish.” ARGIOLAS Perdera Monica di Sardegna 2013 - 90 points “Dark berries and musky floral aromas are complicated by underbrush and flint. Bright and juicy, with herbal blueberry and black cherry flavors lifted by a refreshing bitter edge. Finishes with good balance and youthfully chewy tannins.” RASSEGNA STAMPA 2016 7 gennaio 2016 VINOUS ARGIOLAS Iselis Bianco Nasco di Cagliari Secco 2014 – 90 points “Dusty, subdued aromas of apricot, pear and vanilla. Enters the mouth very smooth, but the floral and sweet herb flavors turn slightly austere on the back half. The long finish shows a peppery bite and a twinge of bitter herbs, but the 14.5% alcohol also makes its presence felt. I’m glad to see Argiolas dedicating attention to Nasco, which I believe is potentially one of Italy’s greatest white varieties.” ARGIOLAS S'Elegas Nuragus di Cagliari 2014 – 90 points “Aromas of fruit cocktail, flowers and vanilla are pure and enticing. Bright and juicy in the mouth, with flavors of canned pineapple, fresh citrus and bitter herbs carrying nicely through a smooth mid-palate. Finishes very long, with noteworthy saline bite. A trace of alcohol held down my score, but this is yet another vintage of S’Elegas that demonstrates Argiolas’s capable hand with the Nuragus variety.” ARGIOLAS Costamolino Vermentino di Sardegna 2014 – 89 points “Hints of flint and moss complicate aromas of ripe pineapple and papaya. Rich, dense and juicy, with very good acidity lifting the rich tropical fruit and saline flavors. The finish is clean and persistent but a tad warm for me (the label declares 14% alcohol).” ARGIOLAS Korem Isola dei Nuraghi 2012 - 89 points “Ripe red cherry, herbal dark berries and ink on the nose and palate. Ripe, fleshy, soft flavors of inky blackberry and bitter cherry show good depth and a building flintiness but could use more lift. The finish features dusty tannins and repeating cherry and ink notes, but this big, chunky wine lacks grace.” ARGIOLAS Angialis Isola dei Nuraghi 2012 - 88 points “Pungent aromas of honeyed grilled banana, mirabelle, clove and licorice. Supersweet, dense and unctuous, with strong anise and almond flavors complicated by notes of ginger, clove and peach-flavored tea. Quite unctuous, showing an almost viscous mouthfeel and a repeating note of tea on the persistent finish. I am normally a big fan of Angialis, which is usually one of Italy’s best sweet wines, but I don’t particularly like this year’s version: it's big and rich for sure, but also clumsy and one-dimensional.” ARGIOLAS Is Argiolas Vermentino di Sardegna 2014 - 87 points “Oak dominates subdued peach and orchard fruit on the nose and palate. Bright and juicy in the mouth, possessing enough texture and extract to handle its 14.5% alcohol well, but the finish betrays some bitterness.”
