XEED WUX5000 è la punta di diamante per la serie
da installazione Canon; come suggerisce il nome è un
proiettore LCoS da 5.000 ANSI Lumen che può essere
abbinato a una scelta di tre lenti della stessa Canon (uno
zoom standard per applicazioni classiche, uno zoom
tele per installazioni di dimensioni generose e una lente
wide a focale fissa indicata per retro proiezioni), che
sono intercambiabili anche con il modello di proiettore
WUX4000. Traendo vantaggio dalla settantennale
esperienza di Canon nel design delle lenti, queste
ottiche permettono di ottenere diagonali di schermo
dai 40” agli oltre 600”, un “tiro” massimo di 48,5 metri
e una completa assenza di riduzione di luminosità, sia
con il tele che con la lente wide per le retro proiezioni.
La stessa cura posta nella realizzazioni delle lenti
caratterizza l’elettronica di questo proiettore che, grazie
alla tecnologia LCoS abbinata alla risoluzione WUXGA,
restituisce immagini prive di artefatti o problemi tipici
di altre tecnologie video; in più, grazie alla tecnologia
proprietaria Canon AISYS (Aspectual Illumination
System), per ottimizzare la resa dei pannelli LCoS, e
al fatto di poter coniugare alta luminosità con elevato
contrasto nativo, riesce a trarre massimo beneficio dalla
tecnologia di calibrazione del colore della stessa Canon, e
riprodurre immagini che rasentano la qualità dei monitor
professionali calibrati secondo lo spazio colore sRGB.

The XEED WUX500 is the jewel in the crown of Canon’s installation series; as the name
suggests it is a 5000 ANSI Lumen LCoS projector which can be matched with a choice of
three lenses of the same company (a standard zoom for classic applications, a tele zoom
for generously sized installations and a fixed focal wide lens for rear projections), which are
interchangeable with the WUX4000 projector. Drawing advantage from the seventy year
experience of Canon in designing lenses, these optics allow to obtain screen diagonals that
range from 40 inches to over 600 inches, a maximum “throw” of 48.5 metres and a full
absence in the reduction of brightness, both with the tele and with the wide lens for rear
projections. The same care given to realizing the lens characterizes the electronics of this
projector which, thanks to LCoS technology matched with WUXGA resolution, restores
images free of artifacts or problems which are common to other video technologies;
furthermore, thanks to the Canon AISYS (Aspectual Illumination System) proprietary
technology, to optimize the performance of LCoS panels, and to the fact of being able to
combine high brightness with elevated native contrast, it succeeds in drawing the maximum
benefit from the colour calibration technology of Canon, and reproduces images which
represent the quality of professional monitors calibrated according to the sRGB colour space.

LUTRON
Le novità per Lutron risiedono in una serie di possibilità aggiuntive per il sistema di
gestione e controllo HomeWorks QS, nel sistema di controllo per le automazioni delle
tapparelle Serena e nell’immancabile applicazione per l’iPad giunta alla versione 3.3
anche per Android. HomeWorks QS gestisce in maniera completa l’impianto luci, e si
interfaccia con sistemi di terze parti per il controllo dell’audio-video e HVAC. Nuovo
invece il controllo della temperatura con termostato e sistema a parete seeTemp, che
può essere montato anche in zone normalmente poco adatte al posizionamento di un
termostato (al sole, o all’esterno): il “vero” termostato infatti è wireless e una volta
collocato nella giusta posizione invierà tutti i dati al sistema.

CONTROL4
Nello stand “in mostra”, almeno quanto i prodotti, c’era anche l’ecosistema di partner
di Control4, ovvero Tisco (per il driver KNX per le luci), Lutron (motorizzazioni), SubZero (elettrodomestici “intelligenti”), Harman (ricevitori A/V certificati Control4), Denon
(ricevitori audio certificati Control4), Channel Vision (iPod dock sempre certificato
Control4), AmBX (controllo luci legato al fluire della musica), Nyce Controls (dispositivi
di controllo accessi, sensori di movimento e contact switch), Leaf (switch AV certificati
Control4), Global Cache (IO certificati), Extra Vegetables (app e driver). Alla schiera
si aggiungono altri tre marchi che hanno ottenuto da poco la certificazione: Dune,
Atlona e WyreStorm. Per rinforzare questa rete di partnership Control4 ha anche
annunciato l’estensione del servizio di sostituzione dei prodotti in garanzia al secondo
anno dall’acquisto, e la gratuità dei costi di spedizione; inoltre offre una nuova lista di
apparecchiature per il networking consigliate e testate da Control4, e ha esteso al web il
proprio programma di formazione.

The new items for Lutron reside in a series of additional
possibilities for the HomeWorks QS management and
control system, in the control system for the automation of
Serena shutters and in the unfailing iPad application which
is now in its 3.3 version also for Android. HomeWorks QS
comprehensively manages the lights system and interfaces
with third party systems to control audio-video and HVAC.
The new feature is temperature control with a thermostat
and seeTemp wall system, which can also be mounted
in zones which are usually less suited to positioning a
thermostat (in the sun or outdoors): the “real” thermostat
is wireless and, once placed in the right position, it will
send all the data to the system.

The products “on show” at the stand also included
partner ecosystem of Control4, that is Tisco (for the KNX
driver for the lights), Lutron (drives), Sub-Zero (“intelligent”
household appliances), Harman (Control4 certified A/V
receivers), Denon (Control4 certified audio receivers),
Channel Vision (iPod dock, always Control4 certified),
AmBX (lights control connected with the music flow),
Nyce Controls (access control devices, movement sensors
and contact switches), Leaf (Control4 certified AV switch),
Global Cache (IO certified) , Extra Vegetables (apps and
drivers). Another three brands, which have recently obtained
certification, join the line-up: Dune, Atlona and WyreStorm.
To strengthen this partnership network Control4 also
announced the extension of the service to replace products
under warranty to the second year from purchase, and
free delivery costs; it also offers a new list of networking
appliances which are recommended and tested by Control4,
and has extended its training programme to the web.
