80!MOLTENI
Molteni&C, fondata nel 1934, festeggia la sua storia di
qualità, ricerca e innovazione nell’anno di Expo Milano 2015
con 80!Molteni, una mostra che ha raccontato 80 anni di
storia, prodotta con la collaborazione di un’importante
istituzione culturale, la Galleria d’Arte Moderna di Milano,
un capolavoro intatto del neoclassicismo lombardo,
esempio e testimonianza di un’innovazione progettuale
ingegneristica e decorativa all’avanguardia già nel ‘700.
La mostra ha presentato per la prima volta, in un
progetto di allestimento curato da Jasper Morrison con
il progetto grafico di Studio Cerri & Associati, i prototipi
e i prodotti-icona delle quattro aziende del Gruppo. Ma
ha raccontato anche la storia italiana di un’attività che
prende avvio negli anni trenta come azienda artigianale,
per svilupparsi dagli anni ’50 in una produzione industriale,
con la collaborazione di architetti e designer italiani e
internazionali, come Foster+Partners, Jean Nouvel, Álvaro
Siza, Pier Luigi Cerri, Michele De Lucchi, Rodolfo Dordoni,
Ferruccio Laviani, Luca Meda, Dante Bonuccelli, Aldo
Rossi, Afra e Tobia Scarpa, Hannes Wettstein, Patricia
Urquiola, Ron Gilad, Werner Blaser, Richard Sapper.
Fino alla riedizione di una collezione di arredi disegnati
da Gio Ponti negli anni dal 1935 al 1970.

Established in 1934, Molteni&C has celebrating its history
of quality, research and innovation in the Expo Milano 2015
year with 80!Molteni, an exhibition about 80 years of history,
produced together with an important cultural institution, the
Galleria d’Arte Moderna di Milano, a perfectly preserved
masterpiece of Lombard neoclassicism, and an example
of the decorative design and engineering innovation that
was already avant-garde in the 18th century.
In an exhibition curated by Jasper Morrison with graphic
project by Studio Cerri & Associati, for the first time visitors
have see the prototypes and the most iconic products of
the Group’s four companies. But the show also tells the
Italian story of a business that started up in the 1930s
as a firm of artisan furniture makers, to develop in the
1950s on an industrial scale, boasting partnerships with
Italian and international architects and designers, such
as Foster+Partners, Jean Nouvel, Álvaro Siza, Pier Luigi
Cerri, Michele De Lucchi, Rodolfo Dordoni, Ferruccio
Laviani, Luca Meda, Dante Bonuccelli, Aldo Rossi, Afra
and Tobia Scarpa, Hannes Wettstein, Patricia Urquiola,
Ron Gilad, Werner Blaser and Richard Sapper. Right
through to remakes of a collection of furniture designed
by Gio Ponti between 1935 and 1970.

THE MOLTENI GROUP
Molteni è oggi tra i principali gruppi industriali del settore
dell’arredamento di alta gamma a livello internazionale.
Comprende quattro aziende, ciascuna leader nel proprio
settore: Molteni&C SpA (mobili per la casa), Unifor SpA
(mobili d’ufficio), Dada SpA (mobili per la cucina), Citterio
SpA (pareti divisorie e mobili per ufficio). Il Gruppo Molteni
propone un’offerta globale nel settore furniture in oltre
ottanta paesi nel mondo, oltre che in Italia.
The Molteni group is one of Italy’s leading international
furnishings companies. It consists of four companies,
each one at the forefront of its sector: Molteni&C SpA
(home furnishings), Unifor SpA (office furnishings),
Dada SpA (kitchens) and Citterio SpA (office furnishings
and partitions). Molteni offers global furnishing in Italy
and in over eighty countries all over the world.
Nel 1969 Molteni&C, acquisisce Unifor SpA, azienda che
realizza mobili per ufficio, e una partecipazione di Citterio
SpA, specializzata in pareti divisorie per ufficio. Comincia
anche l’attività Contract, ossia le grandi realizzazioni
in Italia e all’estero, progetti chiavi in mano per spazi
pubblici e di lavoro, come alberghi, musei, navi, catene
di negozi, ospedali e teatri. La ricostruzione del Teatro
la Fenice a Venezia, grandi navi da crociera per le più
importanti compagnie internazionali, alberghi e residence
in tutto il mondo. Nel 1979 il Gruppo acquisisce Dada
SpA, azienda specializzata in cucine componibili di alta
gamma. Così si risponde alla parola d’ordine degli anni
’80: internazionalizzazione.
Il Gruppo Molteni è tra i pochi a garantire il ciclo integrale
di produzione: ne ha infatti il controllo totale, dalla
scelta dei materiali fi no alla defi nizione del prodotto.
Le quattro aziende sviluppano un’ampia sinergia per
quanto riguarda tecnologie, ricerca, esplorazione di
nuove tipologie adeguate ai mutamenti in atto nella casa
e nei luoghi di lavoro.
In 1969 Molteni&C took over office furniture manufacturer
Unifor SpA, as well as acquiring a stake in Citterio SpA,
specialized in partition walls for offices. The Contract
business also got underway, with major assignments,
both in Italy and abroad, for customers with specific
requirements. The reconstruction of the Teatro la Fenice in
Venice, huge cruise ships for major international companies,
hotels and apartment hotels all over the world. In 1979
the Group acquired Dada SpA, specialists in top-of-therange modular kitchens. In this way Molteni rose to the
challenge of the 1980s: internationalization.
Today Molteni is one of the few groups guaranteeing an
integrated cycle – it has total control over every aspect
of production, from the choice of materials to the final
definition of the product. The current four companies have
developed an expansive synergy as regards technology,
research, and development of new products in responce
to changes in the home and in the workplace.

HOW YOU MAKE IT
Una galleria, uno spazio di rappresentazione, un luogo
dove raccontare la propria identità. Ron Gilad reinterpreta
i temi distintivi dell’identità aziendale in Glass Cube, uno
spazio espositivo di 400 mq: i materiali - il legno prima di
tutto - la qualità, l’esperienza, la tecnologia, l’industria e
l’artigianalità, i prodotti e le collezioni. Cuore del progetto
è una Wunderkammer, dove realtà e fantasia giocano
a inseguirsi e a mescolarsi, attraverso la tecnologia
multimediale delle proiezioni 3D mapping, in un ambiente
sonoro site-specific, eseguito dalla Budapest Symphony
Orchestra.
Oggi il Gruppo conta quattro siti produttivi in Italia e un
sito dedicato al Contract, 120 linee di prodotto, 161.000
metri quadrati di superficie produttiva coperta, quattro
centri di R&S, con il 5% del fatturato investito ogni anno
in ricerca. I processi produttivi, 100% Made In Italy, sono
certificati secondo le norme internazionali (FSC, ISO
9001 e 14001, USA-GreenCertificate). Passato e futuro,
ricerca e tradizione. Nel segno della qualità dell’abitare.
Today the Group numbers four production units in Italy
plus a site devoted to Contract work, 120 product lines,
161,000 square metres of covered manufacturing space,
four R&D centres, with 5% of turnover re invested in
research every year. Production processes 100% Made

Si rinnova nel polo produttivo Molteni&C anche lo Spazio
QallaM, luogo di rappresentazione del tema della Qualità,
realizzato nel 2006 da Patricia Urquiola, Menzione d’onore
del XXIII Premio Compasso d’Oro ADI e National Award
for Innovation “Premio dei Premi” ADI Presidency of the
Republic of Italy. Protagonista è l’installazione multimediale
“How you make it” sulla creazione industriale dei prodotti
Molteni&C e i suoi 80 anni di esperienza e qualità.
A gallery, a showroom, a space that conveys the Molteni
identity. Ron Gilad reinterprets the distinguishing themes
of Molteni’s corporate identity in Glass Cube, a 400-sq
m exhibition space: the materials – first and foremost
wood - quality, experience, technology, industry and
craftsmanship, their products and collections. The heart
of the project is a Wunderkammer, where reality and
fantasy chase each other and come together, via the
multimedia technology of 3D mapping projections, in a
site-specific sound setting, performed by the Budapest
Symphony Orchestra.
At Molteni&C’s production unit, its Quality space, known
as Spazio QallaM [Q to the power of M] is also being
renovated. Designed in 2006 by Patricia Urquiola, it won
a Menzione d’onore at the XXIII ADI Premio Compasso
d’Oro and National Award for Innovation “Premio dei
Premi” ADI Presidency of the Republic of Italy. The key
feature of the new set is the “How you make it” multimedia
installation which focuses on how Molteni&C manufactures
its products on an industrial scale and on the company’s
80 years’ experience and commitment to quality.

PASS-WORD Dante Bonuccelli
Pass-word is a versatile modular storage and home
entertainment system, designed to accommodate all the
very latest multimedia devices. The various wall-mounted or
floorbased storage units, fitted with different types of opening,
can be arranged alongside special features such as the
Grado° Bookshelf or the sliding-door bookcase. All wiring
and cabling is out of sight, thanks to a technological bench
that houses the tv, home theatre, dvd readers, smartphone,
tablet, digital modems, video game console and hi-fi sound
equipment. Internally, the system features a smart new finish
in cedarwood, a warm and fragrant wood, both to the touch
and to the eye.

Pass-word è un sistema definito dalla libera componibilità degli
elementi, dedicato al contenimento e all’home entertainment,
progettato per accogliere anche i più moderni sistemi
multimediali. Ai diversi contenitori appesi o a terra dotati di
diverse tipologie d’apertura, si affiancano elementi speciali
come Grado° Bookshelf o la libreria con anta scorrevole.
Nessun cavo di collegamento rimane a vista, grazie a una
panca tecnologica che ospita tv, home theatre, lettori dvd,
smartphone, tablet, modem digitali, consolle per videogiochi
e impianti audio hi-fi. Raffinata la nuova finitura interna in
cedro, legno profumato e caldo, sia al tatto che alla vista, che
si affianca a tutti i colori delle finiture laccate della gamma.

505 is a carrier shoulder system with an extensive range of
modular furnishings in 7 widths, 3 depths and 9 heights,
designed to house books and a television. The finishes, matt
or glossy lacquered or woods and glasses can be mixed and
matched to obtain different solutions in order to answer to
the modern needs. As well as the standard hinged opening
with handle, 505 also has hinged doors, internal and external
drawers, flap doors with pressure opening, sliding doors
and vertical sliding doors. To complete the system, there are
multimedia compartments, different worktops, but also the
possibility to compose set of containers, placed directly on the
floor or hung just above floor level.

Gliss Walk-In is a walk-in wardrobe system for design compositions
tailored to the centimetre, with linear and corner solutions. The
compositions can be wall-mounted or equipped with backs in
different finishes. The components can be arranged as desired
in height with a system of invisible, self-blocking brackets. Fully
extractable, highly specialized, modular units include wooden
drawers, glass drawers, open drawers, open and shut shoe
racks, pull-out trays, trinket trays and trouser holder trays. Even
the internal arrangement of the various units can be overhead
or on the ground. A complete series of fittings for a product that
is perfect in every detail.
Gliss Walk-In è un sistema di cabine armadio che consente di
progettare composizioni al centimetro con soluzioni lineari e

Gliss-Up is the first completely suspended bedroom system for
the wardrobe. It takes the traditional concept of a wardrobe as
a floor-standing cabinet and hangs it on the wall. A free space
remains on the floor, below the support shelves, which can
be filled with other things, such as drawer units. The Gliss-Up
wardrobe system has standard modules in different sizes (three
heights and five widths), which can also be reduced to fit a
space with special measurements. The support shelf comes
in three standard widths and can be ordered custom cut to
the centimetre (max. length for a single piece is cm 298 - 117
3/8”, minimum: cm 134 - 52 7/8”). The structure is made with
the interior finished in millerighe or cedar, and the exterior of the
side panel is available in eucalyptus and matt or glossy lacquer.

MONTECATINI
Comò disegnato in diverse varianti tra il 1952 e il 1955. È caratterizzato
dai frontali dei cassetti verniciati a mano in colore bianco con maniglie
applicate di varie essenze (olmo, noce nazionale, mogano e palissandro).
La struttura in essenza di olmo è sostenuta da piedi in ottone satinato.
Libreria disegnata nel 1956-1957 per casa Ponti in via Dezza a Milano. Realizzata in multistrato sagomato con rivestimento in olmo, in parte con finitura
trasparente naturale, in parte verniciato a mano in colore bianco. Alla libreria
può essere aggiunta una cornice con specchio della collezione D.950.1.
Chests of drawers designed in several versions in the period from 1952 to
1955. Marked by hand-painted white drawer fronts with applied handles
in various wood kinds (elm, Italian walnut, mahogany and rosewood). The
elmwood structure rests on satin brass feet.
Bookcase designed in 1956-1957 for Casa Ponti in via Dezza in Milan.
Made from shaped multi-layered material with elm veneer, partly with
natural transparent finish, partly hand-painted in white. The bookcase can
be enhanced by the addition of a framed mirror from the collection D.950.1.

La poltrona, è stata disegnata per uno dei progetti più cari a Gio Ponti,
la villa dei collezionisti Planchart a Caracas (1953-57). Oggi la poltrona,
che è come un guscio accogliente, ha una scocca in poliuretano rigido,
una controscocca in poliuretano morbido e un cuscino, ed è rivestita nella
gamma dei tessuti Molteni, con la possibilità di differenziare gli elementi.

The armchair, was designed for one of the projects closest to gio Ponti’s
heart, the villa of the Planchart collectors in caracas (1953-57). Today the
armchair, which is like a cosy shell, has a rigid polyurethane frame, a soft
polyurethane counter-frame and a cushion, and is upholstered in the Molteni textile range, with the option of differentiating the component parts.

caratteristico piede regolabile è disponibile in due finiture: alluminio lucido
e cromo nero. Per arricchire le possibilità compositive è stata aggiunta una
nuova altezza di spalla H.51 cm.
Mobile secretaire a cassetti in essenza, con ripiano estraibile protetto da

Completing the 505 system, can be used to create compositions that are
raised off the floor by adjustable feet. Offered in two depths (40 and 54),
four heights and ten standard widths, the compositions can be given the
same finishes and doors that are in the serie. The stylish adjustable foot is
available in two finishes: shiny aluminium and black chrome. To enhance
compositional potential, a new side panel height of 51-19” has been added.

Libreria composta da un piano di sostegno, fissato a parete o a soffitto, al
quale sono agganciati dei montanti metallici con tacche graduate poste
a diverse altezze. In rapporto alle tacche vengono posizionati i ripiani,
sostenuti da agganci invisibili. Il piano di sostegno e i ripiani sono in finitura
alluminio naturale o nero con bordo in multistrato in tinta abbinata.
Contenitore completamente in cristallo con ante scorrevoli apribili su
entrambe i lati in modo da creare un vero e proprio espositore da centro
stanza. Fianchi e ante scorrevoli in vetro trasparente extrachiaro; profili e
piani in alluminio finitura bronzo; cassettiera in eucalipto. I cassetti possono
essere accessoriati con fondo in pelle brown e accessori in legno (divisori,
vaschetta). Kristal è realizzato in tre diverse configurazioni.
Madia con apertura a pacchetto disponibile in tre versioni. Il basamento
interno può avere diverse finiture. Le ante vetro sono sempre realizzate con

Bookcase consisting of a wall-mounted or ceiling-mounted supporting
shelf, to which are attached metal uprights with graduated notches
placed at different heights. Shelves can be set in different positions, in
correspondence to the graduated notches, thanks to small hidden hooks.
The supporting top-shelf and the shelves have a natural or black aluminium
finish with plywood edging in colour matching.

Serie di librerie a giorno o con ante vetrate con telaio in metallo di forma
quadrata, diviso in quattro da una croce interna. La facciata laccata opaco
bianco calce, platino o antracite viene abbinata ad una struttura laccata
opaco o eucalipto. Il vetro delle ante oltre che trasparente, è disponibile
anche acidato. I ripiani interni sono disponibili in legno o in vetro extra
chiaro sp. 1,2 cm. È possibile illuminare l’interno con una o più coppie di
faretti per il cui uso si consiglia la versione con ripiani in vetro extra chiaro.
Scrittoio dall’originale forma triangolare destinato ad assolvere, all’interno
degli ambienti, funzioni specifiche dialogando con le moderne tecnologie.
La struttura esterna e l’anta possono essere realizzati in noce canaletto oppure in eucalipto mentre la struttura interna è sempre in laccato opaco nero.
A series of bookcases either open or with glass doors, with square metal
frame,divided in four by an interior cross. The front lacquered in chalk
white, platinum or anthracite is matched to a matt lacquered or eucalyptus
structure. The door glass is transparent or etched. The internal shelves are
in wood or in extralight glass 1,2 cm th. (1/2”). It is possible to insert one or
more spotlights, in this case the use of extralight glass shelves is advised.

Il sorprendente equilibrio degli elementi nasce dalla costruzione
proporzionata delle singole componenti: i piedini, dal tratto essenziale con
una presenza decisa ma discreta, la seduta continua senza cuscinature,
il bracciolo sinuoso ed accogliente. La seduta in poliuretano espanso a
quote differenziate è integrata nella struttura. Gli schienali in piuma, sono
liberamente organizzabili. I rivestimenti sono completamente sfoderabili sia
nelle versioni in tessuto che in pelle. Piedi: cromo nero, cromo lucido.
Il divano si ispira all’idea originale del progetto Chelsea, collezione di
sedie e poltrone, dotandolo di un nuovo elemento d’arredo, protagonista
della zona living. Un telaio in legno massello, disponibile in diversi colori,
essenziale nel disegno ma raffinato nelle proporzioni, accoglie una seduta
avvolgente ed ergonomica ma soprattutto confortevole grazie agli ampi
cuscini in piuma d’oca. I rivestimenti sono completamente sfoderabili sia
nelle versioni in tessuto che in pelle. Struttura: eucalipto, rovere grigio.
Serie di imbottiti fissi e componibili caratterizzati dalla seduta sporgente
rispetto alla struttura. Questo aspetto si evidenzia maggiormente nelle
composizioni, quando l’elemento terminale si innesta sotto la seduta
dell’elemento a cui si combina. Lo stesso gioco può essere realizzato con
un piccolo pouf che funziona come seduta aggiuntiva. Il piede è sempre
in finitura acciaio lucido.
Divano componibile caratterizzato dalla struttura sottile che accoglie
morbidi cuscini di seduta e schienale, realizzati con miscele di materiali
naturali ed innovativi. I rivestimenti in tessuto e pelle sono completamente
sfoderabili. Tutti gli elementi possono essere utilizzati singolarmente. Piedi:

The surprising balance of the elements arises from the proportioned
construction of the individual components: the minimalist feet have a
sharp but discreet shape, the seat is continuous without cushions, and
the armrests are slinky and cozy. The seat, in polyurethane foam in different

The sofa, which takes its inspiration from the original Chelsea project,
collection of chairs and armchairs, brings a new and important addition to
the living area. A solid wooden frame, available in various colors, with an
essential but wellproportioned design, accommodates an ergonomic seat
which embraces the sitter in large and comfy goose-down-fi lled cushions.
Textiles and leathers from the molteni&c collection enrich the project,
making it unique and timeless. Covers are completely removable, both for
fabric and leather versions. Structure: eucalyptus, grey oak.
A series of upholstered sofas, individual or modular, characterised by
a L shaped double structure when combining 2 sofas together, as the
structure of one element is extended in order to be inserted under the sofa
next to it. The feet are always in shiny steel finish.
Modular sofa with a thin structure that accommodates soft seat and
backrest cushions, made with mixtures of natural and innovative materials.
The fabric and leather slipcovers are fully removable. All elements can be

Una semplice struttura in multistrato rivestito in essenza, anche con piani
d’appoggio a sbalzo. Lo stile disinvolto del divano gioca sui contrasti:
l’essenzialità elegante della struttura in legno contro la coinvolgente
morbidezza dei cuscini in piuma d’oca. Prodotto completamente
sfoderabile sia nelle versioni in tessuto che in pelle. Struttura: noce
canaletto, rovere tinto nero; piedi: cromo nero, alluminio lucido.
Sistema componibile che sfrutta l’infinita possibilità di abbinamento tra i vari
elementi a disposizione, per la realizzazione di soluzioni lineari ed angolari
con la massima libertà dimensionale. I sedili possono unirsi a schienali
di diverse dimensioni in modo simmetrico o asimmetrico. Freestyle
prevede anche due tipi di bracciolo: un classico elemento da affiancare
alla struttura che si allinea all’altezza dello schienale oppure un cuscino
laterale a guanciale che diventa corpo unico con il sedile. Oltre ai classici
sedili è disponibile anche un terminale trapezoidale e un’isola. Freestyle si
completa con cuscini aggiuntivi di schienale in tre dimensioni che possono
essere utilizzati liberamente per quantità e tipo di tessuto.

proporzioni generose, con un cuscino sedile unico di nuova concezione
(piuma + ecomemory) migliorativo del comfort di seduta, della manutenzione
e dell’aspetto estetico. Large integra gli elementi tradizionali con una serie
di componenti (panca, poltrona angolare e tavolini) che aggiungono al

Poltrona e divani dalle proporzioni classiche ed equilibrate unite alla

Modular system that exploits the endless combination possibilities of the
pieces available to create linear and corner solutions with the greatest
freedom in terms of size. The seats can be joined to backs in varying sizes
symmetrically or asymmetrically. Freestyle also has two types of arm: a
classical piece that flank the structure level with the back or a side cushion
that forms one with the seat. As well as the traditional seats there is also
a trapezoid end piece and island element. Freestyle is completed by
additional back cushions in three sizes that can be used in the number
and fabric type desired.
Sofa system, with preset composition or modular, marked by wellbalanced volumes and generous sizes, and a new concept for the single
seat cushion (down + ecomemory) for improved sitting comfort, easier

Night&Day è un sistema di sedute tutto improntato sul tema della versatilità
inteso come espressione della capacità di interpretare gli spazi. Night&Day
propone soluzioni innovative che coniugano con sapiente ironia comfort,
gusto, fantasia e razionalità. La sottile struttura con schienale reclinabile
può accogliere, oltre ai cuscini sedili in morbida piuma, una serie di
accessori (bracciolo, cestone, contenitori, bisacce) che consentono di
variare la funzionalità di questo prodotto per soddisfare diverse esigenze. I
rivestimenti in tessuto o pelle sono completamente sfoderabili.
Oz, è un prodotto che da “vero divano” si trasforma con estrema facilità
in un comodo “vero letto”. La trasformazione in “vero letto” è possibile
grazie ad un meccanismo brevettato di nuova concezione che, oltre ad
estrarre un piano letto profondità 200 cm, fa scomparire automaticamente
i braccioli laterali sotto la struttura. Il rivestimento tessile, completamente
sfoderabile, si caratterizza per la scelta di parti trapuntate dall’originale
trama con cuciture colorate in contrasto con il tessuto utilizzato.
Collezione di imbottiti sia fissi che componibili che consente di realizzare
oltre alle tradizionali composizioni, moderne soluzioni di arredamento grazie
ai particolari elementi a penisola di diverse dimensioni. I divani e le poltrone,
grazie ad un innovativo sistema, hanno schienale regolabile in tre posizioni
consentendo così di ottenere sedute di diverse profondità e comodità. La
struttura in poliuretano espanso a densità variabile si completa con comodi
cuscini reversibili disponibili in due versioni. Nelle versioni in pelle i cuscini
non sono reversibili. I rivestimenti sono completamente sfoderabili.
Reversi ’14 mostra una personalità forte, calda e razionale e si riconferma
particolare per comfort e accoglienza. Il meccanismo schienale, a tre
posizioni, consente di differenziare la profondità delle sedute, per creare,
nel singolo divano, uno spazio razionale associato ad un’area di lavoro o ad
una coinvolgente isola relax. Reversi ’14 propone un’ eccellente soluzione
ai temi della componibilità grazie alla sua logica modulare con un’ampia

a product of great functional versatility able to satisfy differing needs. The

Oz is an item that is easily converted from “sofa” into a comfortable “bed”.

A collection of fixed and modular upholstered furniture that, as well as
traditional compositions, can be used for modern furnishing solutions
using special peninsula pieces in various sizes. Thanks to an innovatory
system that adjusts the back to three positions, settees and armchairs
can adopt different conformations, creating seats of various depths and
comfort. The seat cushions are reversible. The cushion filling has a central
polyurethane foam insert and feathers. The polyurethane foam has variable
densities to allow two different versions of seating: hard seat (lounge) or
soft seat (comfort). The leather cushions are not reversible. The covers are
fully removable.
Reversi ’14 reveals a strong, rational personality and affirms its reputation
for comfort and warmth. The 3-position backrest mechanism makes it

Stage, un tavolo dalla forma rigorosamente geometrica. Un solido delineato
da un sottile profilo, simile ad un foglio di carta, ma vuoto al centro. L’utilizzo
di finiture differenti tra esterno (eucalipto) e interno (lacca lucida o opaca
nei colori Molteni), accentua l’effetto di un solido che galleggia nel vuoto. Il
vano è accessibile aprendo lo sportello posto sul top.
Tavolo basso con piano in cristallo extrachiaro e struttura metallica. La
struttura portante è ottenuta dal taglio e dalla stiratura in stampo di un
unico foglio d’acciaio. Finiture: inox spazzolato opaco o verniciato bronzo.
Come in ogni progetto di Foster+Partners, la componente tecnologica
risulta fondamentale per il suo sviluppo. La struttura, realizzata in acciaio,
nasconde un meccanismo sofisticato di traslazione dei piani in marmo
molto sottili ma strutturalmente molto efficaci. Piano superiore girevole,

the traverse movement of the slim but structurally effective marble table

Occasional furnishings in solid wood which complete the living area and
the bedroom thanks to the structure design which follows the lines of the

Letto matrimoniale imbottito dalla linea unica: la testata, infatti,
proseguendo per tutta la lunghezza del letto fino alla pediera e ripiegandosi
su se stessa, disegna una forma molto originale che ricorda una clip. La
testata può assumere diverse inclinazioni. Il letto può accogliere ogni tipo
di rete di spessore variabile da 6,5 a 17,5 cm, grazie al sistema d’appoggio
regolabile. I rivestimenti, completamente sfoderabili, possono essere scelti
entro una gamma ricca di tessuti e pelle.
Fulham, un letto nato per un riposo confortevole e rigenerante. La
testata avvolgente, in tessuto o pelle, permette di creare intorno a sè un
confortevole ambiente dove riposarsi, leggere o guardare la televisione in
tutto relax. Una panca da posizionare ai piedi del letto completa il progetto.
I rivestimenti in tessuto e pelle sono completamente sfoderabili. Essenze:
eucalipto e rovere grigio. Due differenti versioni di fascia: fascia bassa H.11
(altezza piano letto 32), fascia alta H.22 (altezza piano letto 43).
Serie di letti in legno dalla linea precisa ed elegante addolciti dalla testata
curvata. Le finiture, in essenza o in rovere laccato nei colori, consentono
di poter proporre liberamente il letto in soluzioni d’arredo moderne o
classiche. Il letto può accogliere ogni tipo di rete di spessore variabile grazie
al sistema d’appoggio regolabile. Essenze: rovere grigio, rovere nero, olmo

An upholstered double bed in a unique design: the headboard continues
along the length of the bed to the footboard and folds back on itself to
trace a highly original form similar to a paperclip. The headboard can tilt at
various angles. The bed can take all types of mattress-base in a variable
thickness 6,5-17,5 cm (2 1/2-6 7/8”) thanks to an adjustable support
system. The fully removable covers can be chosen from an extensive
range of fabrics and leather.
Fulham road gives its name to the bed that the designer has created for a
comfortable and regenerating night’s sleep. The wrap-around textile or leather
headboard provides a cosy and relaxing niche in which to rest, read or watch
television. A bench to be placed at the foot of the bed completes the project.
Fabric and leather covers are completely removable. Woods: eucalyptus and
grey oak. Two different bedframes: lower bedframe H.4 3/8” (bed base height
12 5/8”), higher bedframe H.8 1/2” (bed base height 16 3/4”).
Letto tessile dalla linea sobria, caratterizzato dalla comoda e morbida
testata e dalla lavorazione sartoriale del rivestimento. Nel letto Honey il
posizionamento delle reti è fisso (H. max 5,5 cm) e non possono essere
inserite reti con movimento. I piedi sono sempre in metallo verniciato nero.
I rivestimenti in tessuto e pelle sono completamente sfoderabili. Nella
versione con contenitore la rete ha due posizionamenti: apertura frontale
per movimentare i materiali contenuti e sollevamento orizzontale per un
comodo rifacimento del letto.

Ribbon è un letto tessile con caratteristiche di assoluta morbidezza
unita ad un design giovane e moderno, utilizzando materiali naturali. Il
rivestimento, tessile o di pelle, si aggancia a un nastro, con dettagli in pelle,
che corre lungo tutto il perimetro della testata e del giroletto, con funzioni
sia strutturali che estetiche. La testata alta, e la morbida imbottitura ne
fanno un prodotto di grande contemporaneità.
Il progetto si propone il recupero delle forme tradizionali, dei letti di
memoria, dalle forme sottili ma dalla presenza estetica decisa, dove il
tocco di ebanisteria dei particolari della testata e del disegno delle gambe
attribuiscono originalità e classe pura. Testata e sommier in eucalipto,
noce canaletto, rovere o olmo. Prodotto completamente sfoderabile sia
nelle versioni in tessuto che in pelle. Il letto puo’ accogliere ogni tipo di rete
di spessore variabile grazie al sistema di appoggio regolabile. Essenze:

Molteni è tra i principali gruppi industriali del settore
dell’arredamento di alta gamma a livello internazionale.
Comprende quattro aziende, ciascuna leader
nel proprio settore: Molteni&C SpA (mobili per la
casa), Unifor SpA (mobili per ufficio), Dada SpA
(mobili per la cucina), Citterio SpA (pareti divisorie
e mobili per ufficio).
The Molteni group is one of Italy’s leading
international furnishings manufacturers.
It consists of four companies, each at the
forefront of its sector: Molteni&C SpA (home
furnishings), Unifor SpA (office furnishings),
Dada SpA (kitchens) and Citterio SpA (office
furnishings and partitions).
Il Gruppo Molteni propone un’offerta globale nel
settore furniture in oltre ottanta paesi nel mondo, oltre
che in Italia. Molteni&C è stata fondata nel 1934 a
Giussano, nel cuore della Brianza, a pochi chilometri
da Milano. Da laboratorio artigiano si è trasformata
prima in azienda e poi in gruppo internazionale. È
un’azienda di avanzata tecnologia e antica tradizione.
Nel 1969 Molteni&C acquisisce Unifor SpA, azienda
che realizza mobili per ufficio, e una partecipazione
di Citterio SpA, specializzata in pareti divisorie per
ufficio. Comincia anche l’attività Contract, ossia
le grandi realizzazioni in Italia e all’estero, progetti
chiavi in mano per spazi pubblici e di lavoro, come
alberghi, musei, navi, catene di negozi, ospedali e
teatri. Nel 1979 il Gruppo acquisisce Dada SpA,
azienda specializzata in cucine componibili di alta
gamma. Così si risponde alla parola d’ordine degli
anni ’80: internazionalizzazione.
Il Gruppo Molteni è tra i pochi a garantire il ciclo
integrale di produzione: ne ha infatti il controllo
totale, dalla scelta dei materiali fino alla definizione
del prodotto. Le quattro aziende sviluppano
un’ampia sinergia per quanto riguarda tecnologie,
ricerca, esplorazione di nuove tipologie adeguate
ai mutamenti in atto nella casa e nei luoghi di
lavoro. Intensa la collaborazione con alcuni dei
più prestigiosi designer italiani ed internazionali:
Gio Ponti, Aldo Rossi, Luca Meda, Afra e Tobia
Scarpa, Jean Nouvel, Alvaro Siza, Foster+Partners,
Pierluigi Cerri, Dante Bonuccelli, Rodolfo Dordoni,
Ferruccio Laviani, Patricia Urquiola, Ron Gilad, solo
per citarne alcuni. Oggi il Gruppo conta quattro siti
produttivi in Italia e un sito dedicato al Contract,
120 linee di prodotto, 161.000 metri quadrati di
superfi cie produttiva coperta, quattro centri di
R&S, con il 5% del fatturato investito ogni anno in
ricerca. I processi produttivi, 100% Made in Italy,
sono certificati secondo le norme internazionali
(FSC, ISO 9001 e 14001, USA-GreenCertificate).

Molteni offers global furnishing in Italy and in over
eighty countries all over the world. Molteni&C was
founded in 1934 in Giussano, Brianza, just a few
kilometers from Milan. The traditional artisan’s
workshop grew first into a company and then
into an international group. Molteni&C combines
advanced technology with old-fashioned tradition.
In 1969 Molteni&C took over office furniture
manufacturer Unifor SpA, as well as acquiring
a stake in Citterio SpA, specialized in partition
walls for offices. The Contract business also got
underway, with major assignments, both in Italy and
abroad, for customers with specific requirements.
In 1979 the Group acquired Dada SpA, specialists
in top-of-the-range modular kitchens. In this
way Molteni rose to the challenge of the 1980s:
internationalization.
Today Molteni is one of the few groups guaranteeing
an integrated cycle – it has total control over every
aspect of production, from the choice of materials
to the final definition of the product. The current four
companies have developed an expansive synergy
as regards technology, research, and development
of new products in responce to changes in the
home and in the workplace.
Close partnerships were established with some
well-known italian and international designers:
Gio Ponti, Aldo Rossi, Luca Meda, Afra and Tobia
Scarpa, Jean Nouvel, Alvaro Siza, Foster+Partners,
Pierluigi Cerri, Dante Bonuccelli, Rodolfo Dordoni,
Ferruccio Laviani, Patricia Urquiola and Ron Gilad,
to name but a few. Today the Group numbers four
production units in Italy plus a site devoted to
Contract work, 120 product lines, 161.000 square
metres of covered manufacturing space, four R&D
centres, with 5% of turnover re-invested in research
every year. Production processes 100% Made in
Italy are certified to international standards (FSC,
ISO 9001 and 14001, USAGreenCertificate). Past
and future, research and tradition. All in the name

with massproduced items created by designers
with extensive international experience: Banco

Accanto alla produzione di serie, Dada realizza
forniture personalizzate per progetti speciali,
anche di dimensioni rilevanti, sviluppando e
producendo modelli specifici su disegno del
committente, che si integrano perfettamente
in contesti architettonici più vasti e che spesso
diventano prodotti di serie. Come Albion Riverside
di Londra (progetto Foster+Partners, complesso di
residenze sulla sponda sud ovest del Tamigi), 40
Mercer (progetto di Jean Nouvel, complesso
residenziale nel quartiere di Soho a New York),
One Brooklyn Bridge Park a New York, e i services’
apartments del Four Seasons a Shanghai.
Dal 2008 il Gruppo Armani e il Gruppo Molteni
hanno dato vita a una partnership per la produzione
e distribuzione della collezione Armani/Dada.
Tra le realizzazioni Contract Armani/Dada: lo
sviluppo di sistemi cucina personalizzati per
le esclusive Armani Residences all’interno del
Burj Khalifa a Dubai, i services’ apartments San
Pietro all’Orto a Milano, l’Imperial Cullinan a Hong
Kong, le residenze private White City a Tel Aviv.
Alongside its standard ranges, Dada also produces
customized designs for special projects, even
on a large scale. Specifi c customized models
can be integrated into broader architectural
contexts and eventually get introduced into the
Dada collection.
Examples are Albion Riverside in London (a
residential complex designed by Foster+Partners
on the south west bank of the River Thames), 40
Mercer (a residential complex designed by Jean
Nouvel in the Soho district of New York), One
Brooklyn Bridge Park, also in New York, and the
Four Seasons Services’ Apartments in Shanghai.
In 2008 Gruppo Armani and Gruppo Molteni formed
a partnership for the production and distribution
of the Armani/Dada collection. Armani/Dada
Contract projects include: the development of
customized kitchen systems for the exclusive
Armani Residences in the Burj Khalifa in Dubai,
the private residences of San Pietro all’Orto in
Milan, the Imperial Cullinan in Hong Kong, the
White City private residences in Tel Aviv.

Care, hanno promosso il nuovo sistema di certificazione
dei prodotti con la Digitag Product Information Card.
Un servizio nato per la certificazione delle opere
d’arte, oggi disponibile per la prima volta al mondo
anche per i prodotti di arredamento Molteni&C e
Dada. La documentazione relativa al prodotto, che
veniva allegata alle cucine Dada, è stata sostituita
dalla Product Information Card, simile nell’aspetto a
una carta di credito. Ogni Card riporta un ologramma
non replicabile, volto a garantire l’autenticità e
l’originalità del prodotto acquistato. La Card permette
di accedere a tutte le informazioni sul prodotto
acquistato attraverso un QR code o consultando il sito
http://www.productinformationcard.dada-kitchens.
com. Tra le principali informazioni consultabili on-line
ci sono: disegni della cucina acquistata, schede
prodotto, istruzioni d’uso e manutenzione, istruzioni
di montaggio, link ai marchi di elettrodomestici e
rubinetteria, garanzia legale e modalità per estensione
della garanzia in Italia.
Molteni&C Dada, always attentive to Customer
Care, have promoted the new Digitag Product
Information Card. A service set up to certify
art works, is now available for the first time in
the world for Molteni&C Dada furnishings. The
product data sheet formerly attached to Dada
kitchens has now been replaced by the Product
Information Card, in appearance similar to a
credit card. Each Card has a nonreproducible
hologram, designed to guarantee the authenticity
and originality of the product purchased. The
Card gives access to full information about the
product purchased via a QR code or by consulting
the http://www.productinformationcard.dada-‐
kitchens.com website. The main information
available on line includes: drawings of the kitchen
purchased, product data, user/maintenance/
assembly instructions, links to the relevant brands
of household appliances, taps and fittings, legal
warranty and procedures for extending the
warranty in Italy.

Gli spessori dell’anta si riducono a 13 mm,
assottigliandosi e smaterializzandosi. La tecnica
costruttiva si evolve e stratifica materiali differenti,
compensandone le tensioni e disegnando nuove
proporzioni e dettagli tecnici distintivi, come il nuovo
meccanismo di apertura battente che consente una
particolare rotazione dell’anta. Sovrapposizione di
linee sottili caratterizzano i top, che nascondono
la tecnologia delle lavorazioni.

Doors are a mere 13 mm thick, slim to the point
of imperceptibility. Technology is cutting edge and
uses different materials, balancing the tensions and
designing new proportions and special technical
details, including the original mechanism that allows
doors to swing. Countertops present overlapping
lines that conceal the manufacturing technology.

Banco, nato nel 1994 dalla matita di Luca Meda,
concentra nella struttura autoportante, brevettata
da Dada, le funzioni principali di cottura e lavaggio.
Una solida estrusione di alluminio sostiene la sottile
linea del piano lavoro che definisce l’orizzonte dei
volumi. La struttura rimane aerea, sospesa, e si
completa con le basi a terra. La nuova Banco
ridefinisce i contrasti materici e privilegia il bianco
e il nero. La struttura a isola sostiene i contenitori
sotto-Banco. Il piano ha uno spessore minimo e
si adagia nella struttura in alluminio, nascondendo
la sua anima massiccia.

BANCO
Banco, created by Luca Meda in 1994, concentrates
the main cooking and washing functions in the
free-standing structure, patented by Dada. A
solid extrusion of aluminium supports the slimline
worktop which defines the horizon of the volumes.
Thus the structure stays elevated and suspended,
and can be completed with base units. The new
Banco redefines material contrasts and opts for
black and white. The island supports the storage
units below. The slim worktop rests on the aluminium
frame, concealing its solid core.

Set è un laboratorio per sperimentare, un’officina
dove tutto è a portata di mano. Il progetto recupera il
solido concetto delle cucine americane e l’atmosfera
delle cucine tradizionali. Le mensole e i ripiani sono
aperti, come una libreria. Set può avere uno sviluppo
verticale e usare tutta l’altezza delle pareti. Intorno,
mensole, dispense a vetro, boiserie e materiali

Set is an experimental lab, a workshop where
everything is within easy reach. The design harks
back to the solid concept of American kitchens
and the atmosphere of traditional kitchens. The
shelves are open, like a bookcase. Set can be
developed vertically and take up the whole height
of the walls. All around, shelves, glass-fronted
cupboards, wood paneling and natural materials:
stone, steel, glass. The technical components are
concealed, for a functional, hi-tech, but nevertheless
light and elegant kitchen.

The revolving column was developed in 1988 by Dada
R&D. It is basically a corner pantry, with an amazing
storage capacity thanks to full use of the shelves inside.
A concealed but accessible space, with functional
shelves and safety profile, all lit with dichroic spotlights.
One column offers as much space as five 60 cm base
units. The system is based on a central pillar in extruded
aluminium and a patented rotation mechanism that pivots
for 360° on two sets of ball bearings, making every part of
the five chrome metal wire shelves accessible. The
safety profiles effectively protect hands when the pantry
is accessed.

Perfect storage of supplies in only 30/45 cm width. With
hanging and individually height-adjustable shelves, the

high shelves. Up to 100 kg can slide gently out of the
closet. The closing movement, if electrified, is activated
by a gentle push on the door.

ripiani sono in finitura alluminio anodizzato con profilo in
multistrato.
Bookcase consisting of a wall-mounted or ceiling-mounted
supporting shelf, to which are attached metal uprights with
graduated notches placed at different heights. Shelves
can be set in different positions, in correspondence to the
graduated notches, thanks to small hidden hooks. The
supporting top-shelf and the shelves have an anodized
aluminium finish with plywood edging.
