Kranj is a pleasant old town situated on a rock between two mountain rivers, Sava and
Kokra. Today it is the fourth largest town in Slovenia and an economic, cultural and sports
centre of Gorenjska. The town’s advantages are that it is near the airport and that it has peaceful
surroundings. Due to its cultural, historical and natural landmarks, the old town centre was
declared a historical and cultural monument in 1983. The development of the town is giving
it an increasingly modern image. Many cultural events which take place throughout the year
contribute to the lively mood of the town. In Kranj, the old is merged with the new, and all
images are intertwined in harmony.
Kranj ist eine malerische Stadt, die auf einem Felsen zwischen den Gebirgsflüssen
Sava und Kokra liegt. Heute ist es die viertgrößte Stadt Sloweniens und das wirtschaftliche,
kulturelle und sportliche Zentrum von Gorenjska. In den letzten Jahren entwickelte sich in
Kranj auch ein abwechslungsreiches touristisches Angebot. Der Vorteil der Stadt ist die Nähe
zum Flughafen und die ruhige Umgebung. Der Altstadtkern wurde im Jahr 1983 wegen seiner
kulturgeschichtlichen und seiner natürlichen Sehenswürdigkeiten zum Geschichts- und
Kulturdenkmal erklärt. Gleichzeitig erhält die Stadt aufgrund ihrer Entwicklung ein immer
moderneres Aussehen. Zum angenehmen Stadttreiben tragen besonders die kulturellen
Ereignisse bei, die während des ganzen Jahres stattfinden. In Kranj verflechten sich liebevoll das
Alte mit dem Neuen, alle Gestalten verbinden sich abgewogen zu einer einzigen.
Kranj
è una pittoresca città che sorge su un promontorio roccioso tra i fiumi alpini Sava
e Kokra. Oggi Kranj è la quarta città della Slovenia per dimensioni nonché centro economico,
culturale e sportivo della Gorenjska. Negli ultimi anni la città vanta una ricca offerta turistica. La
vicinanza dell'aeroporto e l’ambiente tranquillo rendono Kranj, un’interessante meta per i turisti.
Nel 1983 grazie ai suoi monumenti culturali, storici e naturali il vecchio centro fu proclamato
patrimonio storico e culturale. Negli ultimi anni la vecchia immagine della città si fonde con
un’immagine più moderna donatale dallo sviluppo economico. Durante tutto l'anno a Kranj
si svolgono eventi culturali che donano un’anima speciale alla città. A Kranj l'antico s’intreccia
amorevolmente col nuovo e tutte le immagini si fondono armoniosamente in una sola.
