From our herb garden
Le 60 erbe aromatiche coltivate nel nostro orto ingentiliscono eccezionali ricette con il
loro particolare sapore, ispirando ogni giorno le creazioni del nostro chef.
Il nostro giardino delle aromatiche ci offre anche il “tè benessere del Sonnenhof”, una
miscela di tè greco alpino, salvia, melissa bianca, menta, fiordaliso, ortica indiana e
calendola, ideale per la colazione.
Ingredienti:
125 g di burro fuso • 100 g di zucchero • 1 uovo intero
250 g di farina • ½ bustina di lievito in polvere • sale
Ripieno:
mele • zucchero • zucchero vanigliato • scorza e succo di
limone • uvetta • pinoli • cannella • pangrattato
Amalgamare tutto il necessario per la pasta. Sbucciare le
mele, tagliarle a fettine sottili e mescolarle agli altri ingredienti del ripieno. Spianare la pasta e, dopo avervi disposto
il ripieno, chiuderla. Spennellare con l’uovo e cuocere nel
forno preriscaldato a 170°C per circa 40 minuti. Prima di
servire, spolverare con lo zucchero a velo.
Ingredients:
125 g soft butter • 100 g sugar • 1 whole egg • 250 g flour
1/2 packet baking powder • salt
Filling:
Apples • sugar • vanilla sugar • lemon zest and juice • raisins
pine kernels • cinnamon • breadcrumbs
Knead all strudel ingredients to a paste. Peel the apples, cut into
thin slices and mix with the other filling ingredients. Roll out the
pastry, add the apple filling and fold over the pastry. Coat with
egg and bake for approximately 40 minutes in a pre-heated
oven at 170°C. Sprinkle with icing sugar and serve.
Fine foods are best improved with fresh herbs. In our herb garden we cultivate over 60 different species, each with its own special flavour. The various aromas inspire our head chef in
the creation of his daily dishes.
Our herb garden is also home to our “Sonnenhof well-being tea”, a mixture of Greek mountain tea, sage, white balm, mint, cornflower, bee balm and marigold, which is ideal as a
breakfast drink.

also welcome to participate in wine-tasting sessions at the hotel.
Lo Zweigelt è un tipico vitigno austriaco, perfetto per la
coltivazione in Val Venosta, che coniuga la corposità del
Franconia e l’eleganza del San Lorenzo, da cui ha avuto origine. L’aromatico Zweigelt 2011 di Maso Marinushof seduce
con le sue spiccate note di bacche e prugne e risulta particolarmente equilibrato al palato; infine, il gusto amabile e
fruttato e una sorprendente persistenza con nobili aromi ne
completano l’armonia.

Growing area: Schlossberg/Kastelbell 650 m
Zweigelt is a typical Austrian grape variety that is highly suited to
cultivation in the Vinschgau Valley. It combines the advantages
of its parents, i.e. the body of the Blaufränkisch grape with the
elegance of the St. Laurent. The 2011 Zweigelt from the Marinushof estate has a captivatingly pronounced aroma of berries and
plums: it is tangy and very harmonious on the palate. It enjoys
a natural sweetness; an impressive finish, marked by noble aromas, rounds off the harmonious overall impression.

a bag containing bathrobes and bath towels in each room. We offer weekly massages and lymph drainage, facial
care, body exfoliation, as well as manicure and pedicure services.
Having enjoyed the day to the full, enjoy spending time in the very spacious and fully equipped rooms and suites. Every
comfort is provided: bath or shower, WC, bidet, hairdryer and satellite TV are standard, as are a safe and telephone. Each
of our rooms also has a balcony from which you can enjoy breathtaking panoramas over the Meran mountain world.

per escursioni e arrampicate. Inoltre, nel Meranese potrete dedicarvi ad attività sportive, quali golf, mountain-bike, rafting e parapendio.
Momenti di puro incanto saranno la visita del centro storico di Merano e dei Giardini di Castel Trauttmansdorff, uno dei parchi più affascinanti d’Italia, in fiore dalla primavera all’autunno, che in estate offre concerti
estivi di diversi stili musicali nell’anfiteatro intorno al laghetto delle ninfee.
The special location of the Sonnenhof above Meran at the entrance to the Passeier Valley offers walks along the old
Waalwege (ancient irrigation channels) through vineyards and apple orchards, as well as being a starting point for
hikes and climbing tours up in the mountains. The Meraner Land also offers such sporting activities as golf, mountain biking, rafting and paragliding.
The sophisticated old city of Meran is certainly worth a visit, as are the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle, which
blossom between spring and autumn into one of Italy’s most beautiful parks. In summer various musical events are
staged at the amphitheatre by the water-lily pond.

Your room is available from 2.00 p.m. Departure is by
10 a.m. at the latest.
Dogs can only be accepted by previous arrangement
(no admission to dining or lounge areas nor to sunbathing area). We charge 8 euros per day without food
and 25 euros for final cleaning if necessary.
Cancellations: please inform us in good time if you have
to cancel your booking. No charge is made for cancellations made 30 days prior to arrival. If notification is made
later we will make a charge according to the room rate
and season. The same applies to early departures. We
offer cancellation insurance at excellent terms: for more
