INTRODUZIONE
Nell’aprile del 2015, l’Italia è stata amorevolmente benedetta dalla Visita
Divina di Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, nella sua Forma Sottile. In risposta alle
molteplici preghiere dei suoi innumerevoli devoti che da decadi lo imploravano
di visitarli, il Signore infine ha accettato, donando immensa gioia, pace e
incoraggiamento a tutti con la Sua Divina presenza.
Per direttive di Bhagawan, il Programma Pubblico è stato organizzato in
quattro diverse città dal 16 al 20 Aprile 2015.

Complessivamente vi sono state sette sessioni seguite da centinaia di
persone da tutto il paese e partecipanti provenienti anche da altri paesi. Tutti
interessati al programma, beneficiando dell’ascolto degli illuminati discorsi di
Bhagawan, preceduti dal suo stimabile gruppo di accompagnatori, inclusi
Narasimha Murthy, il Sig. Isaac Tigrett e Sri C. Sreenivas.
Infine i molto attesi discorsi Divini, che hanno sollevato la consapevolezza
di ogni persona riempiendola con il nettare del puro Amore Divino. Nella sua
compassione illimitata, Swami ha anche concesso, ad ogni programma, che Gli
fossero rivolte domande dal pubblico. Le sue risposte agli interrogativi non solo
hanno soddisfatto le menti e i cuori agitati di molti degli interroganti, ma ha
comprovato la naturale universalità, rivelando grandi misteri dell’uomo e
dell’Universo.
Tra i luoghi da Lui visitati, Swami ha benedetto con la Sua Divina presenza
il santuario costruito in suo nome a Pascarosa (Cisternino). Anni fa, Egli istruì
un devoto affinché iniziasse in quel luogo un piccolo tempio dedicato a Lui.
Durante la Sua visita, ha annunciato che il tempio crescerà per diventare un
luogo di importante potere spirituale e pellegrinaggio per molte persone
provenienti da tutto il mondo. Ha anche detto che visiterà questo sacro tempio
con il suo Corpo Sottile ogni anno e anche in futuro nella forma di Prema Sai
Baba.

Questo piccolo libro è stato preparato su ordine di Bhagawan Sri Sathya
Sai Baba, con una compilazione degli estratti dai suoi Discori Divini concessi in
Italia nell’aprile 2015. E’ auspicabile che possa aiutare i lettori a rivivere la
maestosa e benedetta esperienza avuta alla presenza del Divino e, per desiderio
di Swami, portare avanti il Suo messaggio con chiarezza e accuratezza onde
evitare confusioni e interpretazioni errate.
La trascrizione completa di questi discorsi sarà disponibile nella serie di
libri contenenti tutti i discorsi di Bhagawan Baba nel Corpo Sottile: della serie
“Sri Sathya Sai Uvacha”.
Per coloro che non hanno famigliarità con la Forma Sottile di Baba, anche
se ben noto, abbiano presente che Bhagawan Sathya Sai Baba ha lasciato il suo
corpo il 24 aprile 2011. Il passaggio nel Corpo Sottile del Grande Maestro alcuni
mesi dopo il suo 85° compleanno arrivò come uno shock per milioni di devoti in
tutto il mondo, specialmente dopo aver dichiarato, in varie occasioni, che la Sua
missione sarebbe proseguita fino a 96 anni.
Non molto più tardi, Bhagawan Baba iniziò a rivelare Se stesso nella forma
Sookshma Shareera, del Corpo Sottile. Come Egli stesso ha chiarito. “Tutti al
mondo hanno quattro tipi di corpi: Sthoola Shareera, il Corpo Fisico; Sookshma
Shareera, Il copro Sottile; Athi Sookshma Shareera – il Corpo Superiore Sottile;
e il Para Sookshma Shareera, l’Onnipresente Super Corpo Sottile. Lo Sthoola
Shareera è il corpo fisico che tutti possono vedere. Ora, Io non sono nel Corpo
Fisico, ma nel Sookshma Shareera (Corpo Sottile) che è oltre il fisico. Nel mio
Sookshma Shareera posso muovermi ovunque nel mondo senza alcun tempo.
Nel mio Athi Sookshma Shareera entro nei sogni e nelle meditazioni della gente
e li guido. Nel Para Sookshma Sareera, sono presente in ogni atomo. In questo
momento voi siete nel corpo fisico. Se siete in una stanza non potete vedere ciò
che c’è fuori, poiché vi è una parete di mezzo. Il Sookshma Shareera non essendo
legato a desha, kala e paristhiti (spazio, tempo e circostanze), non può essere
visto con gli occhi fisici”.
Da allora, Bhagawan ha continuato a lavorare incessantemente per
continuare la Sua Missione Divina, in India come altrove.
E’ nostra grande e buona fortuna che Swami abbia benedetto il suolo
italiano con la Sua Santa Presenza. Nonostante tutte le agitazioni e le incertezze,
che abbiamo visto intorno a noi, il Signore ci ha assicurato che dobbiamo
soltanto seguirlo e il resto si sistemerà da solo.

TORINO:
16 Aprile 2015
1.
Colui che porta tutti i nomi è quell’Uno che è l'incarnazione della Pace. Colui che porta
tutte le forme è l'incarnazione della Verità. La sua vera natura è Satyam (verità), Shivam
(buon auspicio), Sundaram (bellezza). Egli è sempre presente ed Egli è la verità assoluta.
2.
Dio è sempre presente. Quando i nostri cuori sono rivolti a Dio, lo percepiamo. Quando
i nostri cuori sono pieni del mondo, si perde la visione di Dio. Il sole che splende sopra
l'India è lo stesso sole che splende sull'Italia. Quel sole e questo non sono diversi. E' la
rotazione della terra che rende il sole visibile in entrambi questi Paesi.

Quando si dice che Sathya Sai Baba è l'incarnazione del Principio Divino, come può Egli
essere diverso qui e là? Come possono dire che Egli non esiste ora ma che esisteva prima?
Come possono dire che era venuto e poi se n’è andato? Non c'è morte all’eterno principio
dell’Atma. Come può esserci la morte di un Avatar? Sono soltanto i corpi che periscono,
non l'Atma. E' altrettanto vero per me come lo è per voi, perché siamo tutti in verità le
stesse Incarnazioni dell’Atma.
4.
La mente è alla base di tutta questa creazione, è la ragione della propria schiavitù o della
liberazione. Volgete la mente verso Dio, sarete liberati. Girate la mente verso il mondo e
ne sarete trattenuti. E’ come la porta con la chiave: se la si gira verso destra si aprirà, se
la si gira verso sinistra si chiuderà. La mente è la porta. Se l’aprite, vedrete la verità dal
lato opposto.
5.
A Puttaparthi ho insegnato a coloro che non credevano nell'esistenza di Dio, che Dio
esiste. Molti tra di voi, che sono seduti qui oggi, erano cosiddetti atei, quelli che non
credevano nella Sua esistenza. Dopo essere venuti vicini a Bhagawan, hanno appreso la
verità che Dio c’è.

Cionondimeno ancora pensavate che Dio esistesse al di fuori di voi, come Sathya Sai
Baba o come Gesù Cristo o Buddha o come è raffigurato in altre religioni. Ora Io vi sto
insegnando che Dio non esiste al di fuori, Egli esiste all'interno di voi stessi.

Questo è ciò che anche Gesù Cristo ha predicato. In primo luogo disse: ”Io sono il
messaggero di Dio”. Pensava che Dio fosse diverso da lui. Dio stava in cielo e Lui stava
sulla terra per predicare il suo messaggio. Poi, mentre veniva crocifisso, Gesù affermò:
“Io sono figlio di Dio, sono una parte di Dio, Dio è una parte di me”. Infine, dal momento
che aveva rinunciato al corpo, si rese conto che Lui e suo padre erano Uno. Vi sto
insegnando le lezioni più alte e le verità più alte della vita.

Tutto quello che aspetto da miei devoti ora è che non parlino e non discutano più, ma
che agiscano per raggiungere la propria Divinità. Vi sto frantumando l’illusione che si
può vedere Dio soltanto andando in un certo luogo e in un certo momento del tempo.
Dio è là dove siete voi: la vostra stessa esistenza è la prova dell'esistenza di Dio. Tuttavia,
conoscere la verità e sperimentarla sono due cose diverse.

Vi ho sempre chiamato ‘Incarnazioni della Divinità’, ‘Incarnazioni della Verità’, e
‘Incarnazioni dell'Amore’, perché so che siete già Quello. Così come abbiamo bisogno di
aprire la porta per vedere ciò che c'è fuori, allo stesso modo dovete rimuovere tutto ciò
che non è Dio per vedere chi realmente siete.

Dio esisteva prima che Sathya Sai Baba venisse. Dio è venuto sotto forma di Sathya Sai
Baba e verrà in molte altre forme, così come è venuto nei vostri Sé divini. Continuerò a
insegnarvi la stessa verità. Io non sono l'insegnante che permette agli studenti di fallire
e lasciare la scuola. Fino a che non passerete, dovrete studiare. Ancora una volta, ancora
e ancora.
10. Domanda: Vorrei chiederti, Swami, se ci puoi dire qualcosa sui mutamenti spirituali
che stanno avvenendo in questo periodo.
Swami: Ciò che si vede al di fuori è soltanto un riflesso di ciò che si è dentro. Se sei
divino, vedrai tutto come divino. Se sei un essere umano, vedrai tutto come essere
umano.
Una persona malata è sempre arrabbiata con tutti. Poiché è triste e arrabbiata, assorbe
la rabbia e la tristezza degli altri. Quando la malattia è passata, diventa felice e vede tutti
felici. Di conseguenza, quando si cambia, il mondo intero cambia. Tutto ha inizio
dall'interno.
Ciò che predico ora è che ciascuno realizzi la propria divinità. In tempi a venire, la
divinità in ciascuno sorgerà e molte persone in tutto il mondo predicheranno la verità
che tutti sono Uno. Coloro che non riusciranno a capire questa verità periranno, proprio
come le piante muoiono quando le stagioni cambiano.
Coloro che seguono il percorso del dharma saranno protetti dal dharma. In ogni epoca,
in ogni tempo, ci sono state persone buone e altre che non lo erano. Non è mai accaduto
che il mondo intero fosse pieno soltanto di bontà. Pertanto, sempre più persone
diventeranno migliori, diventeranno ricche di spiritualità e quella sarà l'Età dell'Oro.
Com'è la vostra visione, così sarà il mondo esterno. Ciò che impedisce di realizzarlo è il
vostro ego. Attraverso l'amore e il servizio, una volta rinunciato a questo ego, vedrete il
mondo intero come divino. E’ giunto il tempo nella storia del mondo che sempre più
persone spirituali comincino a emergere.
Siamo in un periodo di transizione. Proprio come il giorno si sposta verso la notte e la
notte va verso il giorno, la notte oscura dell’Età di Kali sta arrivando al termine. Tuttavia,
proprio come è buia la notte prima dell'alba, questo è il motivo per cui oggi vi è tanto
male nel mondo. Il male distruggerà se stesso per legge di natura e ciò che rimarrà sarà
più puro. Se non siete preparati per quell'età, non sarete in grado di sopravvivere,
proprio come avviene ad alcune piante quando le stagioni cambiano. Quindi,
preparatevi, diventando più puri, più altruisti, più divini.
L'amore in azione è dharma, l’amore in parole, è verità; l'amore nella comprensione, è
pace; l'amore nel pensiero, è non-violenza. E’ un unico amore che contiene tutte le altre
cose al suo interno. Sviluppate amore, l'amore disinteressato. Non “amate voi stessi”,
non “servite voi stessi”, bensì amate tutti, servite tutti”.

Domanda: Mi piacerebbe sapere che cosa fare per diventare uno strumento vuoto
affinché l'amore possa fluire attraverso di me.
Swami: Nessun amore rimane come amore, ma si esprime come servizio. La mente non
consente di condividere perché ha paura di perdere qualcosa. Abbandonate quella
paura, una volta persa, perché avete sviluppato la fede, il mio amore fluirà attraverso di
voi, senza ostacoli.
12. Domanda: Swami, come possiamo aiutare le persone che non hanno avuto la fortuna
di conoscerti? Sentiamo nel nostro cuore che sarebbe bene che sapessero di te.
Swami: “Ciò che impedisce alle persone di voler conoscere la verità, è paura; pensano
che ciò che già sanno sia la verità e non c'è altra verità da conoscere. Nel momento in cui
credono di sapere tutto, non vi è spazio per insegnargli altro. Solo chi è umile ed ha una
mente aperta può conoscere la verità. Pertanto, soltanto coloro che hanno una mente
aperta e sono umili, sono in grado di capirlo.
Nessuno può venire da me, se non lo voglio. Soltanto coloro che sono umili saranno
ammessi nella mia classe. La prima qualifica è l'umiltà. Tutti gli alberi carichi di frutti
sono piegati in basso. Soltanto gli alberi che non hanno frutti restano dritti. Se si ha
l'umiltà, si impara.
13.
Domanda: Bhagawan, che cosa possiamo fare per avere più purezza dentro e rafforzare
la nostra relazione con Dio?
Swami: Non chiedetemi questo o quello. Chiedete a me di me stesso: “Voglio Swami”.
“Voglio l'amore di Swami”. Qualunque cosa accada, ovunque accada, quando accada,
abbi solo questa preghiera. Una volta che conosci la destinazione, saprai come andarci.
Pertanto, riempi la tua mente con il Nâmasmarana, impegnati in atti di servizio e ama
disinteressatamente. Con l’amore disinteressato, si rimarrà sempre puri. Pregate solo
per me e nient'altro.
14. Domanda: Abbiamo provato a leggere la Bhagavad Gita per avere qualche conoscenza
in più. Se ricordo bene, il capitolo 10 e 11 della Bhagavad Gita parla dei maestri.

Vorrei avere alcuni insegnamenti che ci permettano di ottenere una maggiore
spiritualità.
Swami: Se si viaggia da Bangalore a Puttaparthi, lungo la strada, si vedrà Chikballapur.
Se Chikballapur non arriva, significa che non si è sulla strada giusta. Allo stesso modo,
quando si viaggia verso Dio e si sta crescendo spiritualmente, devono sopraggiungere
alcune destinazioni.
In primo luogo, verrà l'umiltà; poi, verrà l'amore per tutti; in seguito, arriverà un senso
di sacrificio: essere capaci di sacrificare tutto per amore degli altri. La destinazione finale
è la pace e la beatitudine. Si inizia con umiltà e si conclude con la pace. Pertanto è
necessario chiedersi continuamente se queste destinazioni sono in arrivo o meno.
La fiducia in se stessi arriverà per prima, che è come le fondamenta; poi l’auto-sacrificio,
che sono le pareti; infine l’auto-soddisfazione che è il tetto. Ciò che si trova all'interno è
la realizzazione del Sé.
Pertanto come prima cosa, si svilupperà un’enorme umiltà che vi arriverà con la fede che
Dio è colui che fa tutto; la fiducia in se stessi, che è fiducia nel vostro Sé Divino. Quindi,
la prima destinazione è questa fiducia che porterà l'umiltà.
Via, via che proseguirete, sarà necessario verificare di persona se queste stazioni sono in
arrivo o meno. Se non sono ancora arrivate sulla vostra strada, significa che il treno non
è in movimento o siete sul treno sbagliato.
15.
Domanda: Swami, puoi darci alcune indicazioni
su come sviluppare un buon carattere, perché a
volte il carattere è un ostacolo per la nostra
evoluzione e ci spinge a sviluppare l’ego. Forse il
carattere ci viene dalle nostre vite passate?
Swami: Cos’eri prima non è importante. Il passato
è passato, dimenticalo. Il futuro è incerto, quindi
non c'è motivo di preoccuparsi per il futuro. Il
presente è onnipresente. Questo presente è qui a
causa del tuo passato e questo presente,
condizionerà il tuo futuro. Pertanto, il presente è
nato dal passato e darà alla luce il futuro. Quindi, il
presente è onnipresente. Non preoccupatevi di ciò
che è accaduto o che cosa accadrà. Solo ciò che sta
accadendo
ora
deve
essere
la
vostra
preoccupazione.
Che cosa è il carattere? Fare la cosa giusta, è carattere. In ogni circostanza, per quanto
facile o difficile possa essere, è carattere seguire sempre la cosa giusta.
All'uomo sono state conferite due potenze. Una è viveka (la discriminazione), l'altra è
vairagya (il distacco). Quando vi si presenta una situazione, prendetevi un po' di tempo
per pensare ciò che è giusto e ciò che non è giusto; ciò che è egoista e ciò che è
disinteressato; ciò che farà piacere a Swami e cosa gli dispiacerà. In questo modo,
analizzando, si sceglie la cosa giusta, è questo il senso del vostro carattere.

Tuttavia, questo è solo il cinquanta per cento. L'altro cinquanta per cento è che, dopo
aver fatto la scelta, si deve seguire quel percorso. Quindi, sapere cosa fare e poi farlo
concordemente costruisce il carattere.
Inizialmente, si può cadere, ma ogni volta ci si deve rialzare e proseguire il viaggio. Non
smettete fino a che non avrete raggiunto il vostro obiettivo. Continuate a praticarlo ogni
volta e questo svilupperà il carattere. Come è il vostro carattere, così è il vostro destino.
Quindi mantenete pensieri, parole e azioni puri.
16. Domanda: La cosa più bella della mia vita è stata incontrare te. Ho perso la mia
famiglia molto presto e da quando sei arrivato tu, non ho più avuto bisogno di niente
altro. Eppure, da quando ti ho conosciuto, ho la sensazione di non aver fatto abbastanza.
Ho perso un sacco di tempo e sto ancora perdendo tempo. Temo di non essere in grado
di prendere ciò che mi stai dando.
Swami: Le nostre scritture, dicono che tre sono le cose estremamente importanti. Se le
hai ricevute, considerale come la Grazia di Dio. In primo luogo, la nascita umana;
secondo è il desiderio di liberazione; in terzo luogo, la compagnia di un Essere Divino.
Tu li hai avuto tutti e tre. Sii felice. Mettici dell’impegno. Il miglior servizio che si può
fare è quello di diventare un esempio.
17.
Domanda: Swami, sai che io credo nella vita extra-terrestre. Anche in un'intervista una
volta, hai parlato con una signora di vita extraterrestre. Vorrei sapere se puoi dirci
qualcosa di più su questo argomento, vorrei sapere se esiste o no.
Swami: Voi tutti siete nati in un certo luogo tra alcune persone, in una certa cultura,
basata sulla volontà di Dio. Proprio come molti paesi che esistono, con molte persone e
molte culture, molti esseri in molti piani di esistenza. Essi hanno le loro regole e
regolamenti, la loro cultura, le loro abitudini, la loro lingua, il loro modo di comunicare.
Tuttavia, proprio come deve fare uno studente di secondo grado, non ti dovresti
preoccupare di ciò che si fa al decimo grado, ci si deve concentrare su ciò che viene
insegnato oggi. Pertanto, a questo punto del tempo, essendo nato come essere umano,
dopo aver appreso queste verità da Swami, mettile in pratica e realizza la tua Divinità.
Non spendere il tuo tempo e le energie per curiosità, perché non ti porteranno a
destinazione.
18. Domanda: Potresti spiegarmi le ragioni delle malattie e perché, nel mio caso, le mie
gambe continuano a non stare bene e non sono in grado di camminare?
Swami: La ragione delle malattie è diversa da persona a persona. In alcuni individui,
può essere a causa del dolore fisico, come un incidente o una caduta, ma nella maggior
parte delle persone, è a causa dei loro problemi mentali. Se vi è una causa fisica data da
una malattia fisica, può essere curata in un ospedale. Se, invece, si tratta di un problema
mentale, la si può curare solo attraverso la mente.
Vivete il giorno chiedendo a Dio ciò che Egli gradisce e agite di conseguenza. Alla fine
della giornata, offrite tutto a Dio e andate a dormire. Se Dio vi trova degni, vi darà un
altro giorno per vivere. Ogni giorno che vi svegliate, ricordate a voi stessi che Swami si
fida ancora di voi. Vi sta dando nuovamente l'opportunità di avvicinarvi a Lui e, ogni
sera quando andate a dormire, ringraziateLo per l'opportunità che vi ha dato. Questa è
l'essenza della vita.

PADOVA:
17 Aprile 2015 – Sessione mattutina
1.
Qual è dunque il vostro dovere? Siamo tutti nati per non rinascere. Innumerevoli volte
nelle vite passate ci siamo impegnati in diverse azioni, abbiamo sperimentato i risultati
di tali azioni e così via, ripetutamente nel tempo, ma per evitare questo ciclo di morte e
nascita dev'essere compiuto qualcosa: il nostro dovere. Se perseguiamo il nostro dovere
raggiungeremo Dio. Swami è venuto a predicare la pratica di questo dovere.
2.
Eravate venuti tutti a studiare alla scuola primaria di Puttaparthi. Avete capito tutti che
Dio esiste. Ora, in questa scuola superiore si viene per capire che Dio è dentro e non fuori
da voi. Inoltre, se frequenterete l'Università di Prema Sai dovrete sapere che tutti siete
Uno. Questo è ciò che Gesù predicava: “Tutti siamo Uno, mio caro figlio. Sii come tutti.”
3.
Dalla dvaita (dualità), cioè dall'assunto che Dio è diverso: “Io sono diverso”, dovete
passare alla vishishtadvaita (non-dualità qualificata) per comprendere che “Io sono
una parte di Dio” e arrivare infine all’advaita (non-dualità) cioè al concetto che “tutti
siamo Uno”. Queste sono le tre tappe della vostra crescita. Ecco perché Swami l’ha
spiegata così: da Io a Noi e da Noi a Lui.

Per molti, molti anni i devoti provenienti dall’Italia sono venuti a Prashanthi Nilayam.
Sono venuti soprattutto per celebrare il Natale con Swami. Portavano cioccolatini,
decorazioni e dolci. Organizzavano tanti tipi di programmi, anche spettacoli musicali.
Qual era lo scopo di tutto questo? Compiacere Swami. Il solo scopo era che Swami fosse
felice. Se poi vi siete sforzati di rendere Swami felice durante tutto l'anno, non solo
durante il periodo natalizio, allora avete davvero imparato la lezione.
5.
La gente dice: “Swami è venuto da qui, Swami è venuto da lì”. Non credetelo. Da dove
può mai venire Swami? Lui è già qui. Questa mattina, Swami ha detto alla famiglia che
ci ospita: “Non pensiate che io venga da qualche parte”. Non crediate che sia soltanto
una foto o semplicemente una sedia vuota. Se credete veramente che la sedia non sia

vuota, non sarà vuota. Se credete veramente che la foto è Swami, Egli vi ascolterà. Se
credete veramente che dovete vedere Swami, sarà possibile vederlo. In primo luogo è
necessario credere fermamente. Per lungo tempo c’è stata l'illusione che si dovesse
andare a Puttaparthi per vedere Swami. Quella era la verità inferiore. La verità è che non
c'è bisogno di andare da nessuna parte. Potete trovare Swami ovunque vi troviate. Il fatto
stesso che state respirando e vivete è perché Swami è dentro di voi.
6.
Ovunque si canti il nome di Dio, sarà lì anche la sua forma. Ovunque la forma è presente,
anche il nome sarà lì. Abbiate la ferma fede che ogni volta che cantate il mio nome, Io
sono lì ad ascoltare. Ogni volta che cantate i bhajan, Io vengo ad ascoltare. Ogni volta
che servite il cibo, sto partecipando al pranzo. Ogni volta che mettete una sedia per me,
io sarò seduto lì. Se sviluppate questo tipo di fede, nessuno può abbatterla. Sentite la mia
presenza in tutto il mondo, in ogni momento.

E' molto facile amare coloro che vi amano. Ma la vera prova d'amore è essere in grado di
amare anche coloro che non vi amano. E' molto facile aiutare coloro che vi aiutano, ma
la vera prova del servizio è quando si sa aiutare anche coloro che vi danneggiano. Ecco
perché Gesù Cristo pregò così il Signore: “Perdona loro, perché non sanno quello che
fanno”. Vedete, questo era il tipo di amore che aveva nel suo cuore. Benedì anche coloro
che lo avevano condannato. Soltanto tale amore è vero amore e quando questo amore si
trasforma in servizio, è vero servizio.

Domanda: Swami, Come posso sentirti dentro?
Swami: Che cosa è Swami? E’ un corpo? Una mente? No, non è un corpo, non è una
mente. Swami è amore. Come ho detto, “L'amore è la mia forma. La verità è il mio
respiro. La beatitudine è il mio cibo”. Se senti amore dentro il cuore, quello è Swami e
se senti lo stesso amore per tutti intorno a te, allora senti Swami. Se c'è fede, c'è amore.
Se credi veramente che Swami è Colui che agisce attraverso tutti coloro che sono intorno
a te, allora amerai tutti intorno a te.

Domanda: Prima di tutto, Swami, voglio ringraziarti per quanto hai fatto per me e la
mia famiglia. So che mi hai seguito lungo tutto il mio percorso e in tutto ciò che ho fatto.
Grazie per tutto quello che mi hai dato e per aver salvato la vita di mia figlia. Nonostante
tutto questo, Swami, come mai sono ancora come un Tommaso dubbioso?
Swami: Non sei tu un Tommaso incredulo. La tua mente è il dubbioso Tommaso. E' la
mente che dubita e cambia. Se le cose che accadono sono favorevoli, allora si è felici e la
fede cresce. Quando le cose non accadono come si desidera, ecco che la fede vacilla. A
volte, una madre non da’ al bambino ciò che chiede, perché lei sa che non è un bene per
il bambino. Il bambino, però, fraintende e pensa che la madre non lo ami. Se avete la
devozione solo quando tutto accade secondo la vostra volontà, allora questa non è
devozione.
10. Domanda: Swami, perché l'ego è così forte?
Swami: Da numerose vite ti è stato detto che sei questo corpo. La tua bisnonna lo ha
detto alla nonna, la nonna lo ha detto a tua madre e tua madre ti ha detto che sei questo
corpo. Per secoli, questa menzogna è stata ripetuta così tante volte che hai iniziato a
credere che fosse la verità. Questo è il motivo per cui è difficile liberarsi di questo ego,
che nasce dal corpo. Quando si pensa, “Io sono diverso”, è qui che arriva l'ego. Questo
“Io” è legato al corpo. I corpi sono diversi, ma l'anima è la stessa. Così come le bottiglie
sono diverse, l'acqua è una, ma sembra diversa solo per via del colore della bottiglia.
Un giorno, una persona è venuta da me e Swami, gli ha detto: “Hai un sacco di ego”,
subito mi ha risposto: “Io non ho ego”. La risposta in sé era già piena di ego. In primo
luogo, sapere che hai ego, è già una grande cosa in sé.

Domanda: In questo percorso di purificazione del nostro sé, a volte mi sento come se
fossi in una lotta libera. Dimentico cosa significa realmente essere felici. Tu ci ricordi
sempre di essere felici. La mia domanda è, in questo percorso di evoluzione, come
possiamo rimanere felici?
Swami: La felicità è solo in unione con Dio. Se si è sempre in contatto con Dio, sarai
sempre felice. Pensa sempre a Dio e fai tutto per amore di Dio. Sarai felice.
12. Domanda: Puoi aiutarci con tutte le qualità negative che abbiamo?
Swami: Sono sempre pronto ad aiutarvi. Se vieni in classe con l'intenzione di
apprendere potrai imparare. Se vieni con la sensazione che sai tutto e non hai bisogno
di imparare niente, allora nessuno può insegnarti nulla. Io sono sempre lì come un
insegnante, pronto ad aiutare gli studenti.

Domanda: Dopo il tuo mahasamadhi, ho avuto un “blackout spirituale”. Non andavo
ne avanti, ne indietro. In quel momento, la mia anima si è evoluta comunque,
nonostante questo “blackout spirituale” o c’è stato l'arresto dell’evoluzione?
Swami: Dipendere dal “mio” corpo come “me” è ignoranza. Come tutti gli altri corpi,
anche questo se ne è dovuto andare. Se dipenderai dal vero Swami, che è con te tutto il
tempo, non ti sentirai mai solo. Qual è l’Avatar che è venuto e non se n’è andato? Ciò non
di meno, la sua gloria, il suo amore continuerà ad esserci. Dovete dipendere da quello,
non dal corpo. Il solo indossare l’immagine di Swami, non vi fa sentire Swami.

Soltanto se lo sentite dentro lo sperimenterete veramente.
14. Domanda: Ho fatto molti errori nella mia vita, Swami. Vorrei qualche consiglio da te.
Un'altra domanda, perché i cristiani sono perseguitati così tanto in questo momento
della storia?
Swami: Il passato è passato. Dimentica il tuo passato. E’ ciò che fai nel presente che è
più importante. Un errore non è un errore se impariamo da esso e non lo ripetiamo.
Pertanto, impara dai tuoi errori e non ripeterli. Chi non ha commesso un errore qui?
Tuttavia, tutti hanno imparato e progredito. Quindi, non vivere nel passato. Vai avanti.
Non è solo in questa periodo che si sono le persecuzioni. Coloro che non capiscono lo
spirito della religione hanno sempre conflitti. C’è sempre stato, è ancora lì adesso e lo
sarà anche in futuro. Non solo i cristiani, ma la gente di tutte le religioni stanno
soffrendo. Non è a causa della religione, è a causa della cattiva interpretazione della
religione. È la sensazione che una religione sia superiore alle altre, che fa pensare che il
loro Dio sia superiore rispetto agli altri. E’ a causa di questo che sorgono tutti questi
conflitti. Tutti sono uguali. Tutti sono uguali. Pregate per la pace nel mondo.

Domanda: Swami, come possiamo amare le persone che uccidono?
Swami: Se davvero mi ami molto, sarai anche in grado di amare tutti. Che cosa ho detto
prima? Gesù è stato crocifisso. Egli stesso ha pregato per il benessere di coloro che non
Lo hanno capito. Se ci si vendica su coloro che ci fanno del male, allora qual è la
differenza tra una persona comune e un mio devoto? Se Gesù avesse maledetto la gente
quando veniva punito e crocifisso, quale sarebbe stata la differenza tra un criminale
ordinario e Gesù? Gesù era Gesù, perché Egli poteva amare le persone, nonostante il
male che gli stavano facendo.

Quando si cresce e si evolve spiritualmente, si sente tutto il mondo come la propria
famiglia. In una famiglia, alcuni bambini saranno ben educati e alcuni non lo saranno
affatto. Tuttavia, non si buttano via i bambini che sono disobbedienti. Si correggono e si
riportano sulla retta via. Non è possibile correggerli punendoli. Se davvero volete
correggerli per sempre, li dovete amare.
16. Domanda: Ciao, Swami. Da molti anni, attraverso un'associazione che non porta il tuo
nome, abbiamo insegnato i valori umani ai bambini. Tuttavia, stiamo avendo grandi
difficoltà. Stiamo prendendo la direzione giusta? Ti prego, guidaci.
Swami: Il nome non è importante. Se decidete di mangiare con la mano destra o la
mano sinistra, il cibo andrà comunque nello stomaco. Se il lavoro è fatto con il mio nome
o senza, non influenza il lavoro. Bisogna ricordare che questo percorso del dharma non
è facile. Per molte, molte nascite, abbiamo seguito i dettami della mente, insegnare
improvvisamente alla mente di pensare a Dio non è facile.

Domanda: Sto probabilmente facendo una domanda che molte persone qui vorrebbero
fare, in quanto hanno lo stesso problema. Ieri, sono stato in una assemblea
dell’Organizzazione Sai, dove hanno letto una lettera che era molto critica riguardo
questo gruppo da Muddenahalli. Vorrei sapere come dobbiamo comportarci in queste
circostanze?.
Swami: C'è sempre stata gente che ha detto: “Non credere nei vari Baba dell'India”.
Tuttavia, quando hai deciso di venire e fare l'esperienza per tuo conto, hai capito. Quindi,
il bene possiamo impararlo da chiunque, ma dobbiamo avere una mentalità aperta. Così
come nessuno può mangiare per te o dormire per te, nessuno può sperimentare Dio per
te. Si deve scoprire Dio da soli.
Quando sei venuto da Swami, non hai forse affrontato la stessa situazione allora? La
gente dirà ogni genere di cose. In definitiva, dovete trovare il percorso da soli. Avere una
mentalità chiusa, non vi aiuterà a imparare. L'umiltà e la mente aperta sono molto
importanti. Se non lo imparano i miei devoti, chi potrà mai impararlo? I devoti non sono
quelli che lavorano per una organizzazione o lavorano per un centro. Questa non è una
scuola in cui lo studente è uno studente perché ha ottenuto l'ammissione. Quello che
studia è uno studente. Quello che segue il mio insegnamento è un mio devoto.

17 Aprile 2015 – Sessione pomeridiana
1.
In questo mondo tutto è temporaneo: nome, fama, benessere, famiglia, giovinezza sono
tutti valori momentanei. Solo la verità e un meritato buon nome sono permanenti. Col
passare del tempo, tutto cambia.
2.
Nel mondo di oggi, i giovani sono molto attratti dall’idea di restare giovani per sempre.
Si impegnano in ogni genere di artifici che li aiutino a sembrare giovani a lungo. Sono
sempre impegnati a cercare di apparire più belli, prendendosi grande cura dell’aspetto
esteriore e del proprio corpo. Ciononostante, qualunque cosa facciano, con il tempo il
corpo diventerà vecchio. Nessuno può fermare la ruota del tempo. Cosa rimane
immutato, anche dopo l'età adulta? Rimane il bene che avete fatto per gli altri.
3.
Che cos'è questo sacrificio? Tutto ciò che non è divino in te, lo devi sacrificare. Se sei
convinto di essere un uomo o una donna, sappi che questa non è la verità completa. La
verità profonda è che dovresti dire: “Io sono un uomo e non un animale”. Il corpo umano
è un dono molto prezioso, da un lato ha le qualità animali, dall'altro quelle divine. Un
uomo può modificarsi: diventare un animale o diventare divino. Dipende da ciò che si
sceglie di diventare.
4.
Dio vi ha dato due punti di forza: la discriminazione e il distacco. Discriminate ciò che è
bene e ciò che non lo è prima di fare qualsiasi cosa, prima di dire qualsiasi cosa, prima
di pensare qualsiasi cosa, chiedetevi se essa sia buona o no. Se è buona, fatela. Se non lo
è, non fatela. Capire se quella cosa è buona o no, è viveka o discriminazione, e avere il
coraggio di rinunciare a ciò che non è buono, è vairagya, il distacco. Pertanto, pensate
prima di parlare o di fare qualsiasi cosa, chiedete sempre a Swami che è dentro di voi.
Chiudete gli occhi per un attimo e chiedetemi: “Swami, questo è quello che mi sento di
fare. Ti fa felice o no?”. Se me lo chiedete onestamente e avete il coraggio di seguire la
risposta che verrà dal vostro cuore, Io risponderò sicuramente. Non sono in qualche
posto lontano. Sono proprio nel vostro cuore e vi risponderò dal cuore. Se lo praticate
oggi stesso sarete in grado di farlo per tutta la vita.

Come pensi, così diventerai. Polvere pensi, polvere sarai. Pensi a Dio, Dio sei. Dite
sempre a voi stessi: “Io sono Dio. Dio non è da nessuna parte. Egli è dentro di me. Egli
risponderà a tutto quello che chiedo”. Chiedi a Lui con sincerità e otterrai sicuramente
una risposta. Non chiedere a Dio solo quando sei in difficoltà. Hai chiesto forse a Dio
prima di metterti nei guai? Parla allora con Dio che è dentro di te e credi fermamente
che è possibile connettersi col proprio Swami interiore. Cerca la sua guida in ogni fase
della tua vita. Segui le sue parole e raggiungiLo. Se vuoi raggiungere Dio, è necessario
seguire le sue orme.
6.
Domanda: Swami, siamo tutti in attesa dell’Età dell’Oro che hai promesso. Che cosa
possiamo fare per prepararci? Il tempo è venuto?
Swami: Questa materiale Età dell’Oro non è quella che dovete aspettare. E’ la
trasformazione all'interno di ciascuno di voi. Chi è d'oro all'interno vedrà tutto come oro.
Colui che è puro all'interno, vedrà tutto puro. Un ladro pensa sempre che tutti gli altri
siano ladri. Un santo pensa sempre che tutti gli altri siano santi. L’Età dell’Oro non è al
di fuori di voi. Ogni volta che un cuore si trasforma in divino, diventa d'oro. Quando
tante persone si trasformeranno, tutto il mondo sarà pieno di felicità e di pace.
“Il primo dovere di voi giovani è diventare un esempio per gli altri. Osservando la vostra
condotta e il vostro carattere, altri giovani si trasformeranno. Non dovete fare discorsi
dalle tribune. Facendo semplicemente ciò che dovete fare potete cambiare il mondo.
Quindi, la trasformazione deve avvenire dentro, l'Età dell'Oro è dentro. E’ giunto il
momento che un maggior numero di voi sviluppi questo sentimento divino.
7.
Domanda: Swami, so che tu sei la Verità, ma perché hai lasciato il corpo prima dell'età
che avevi dichiarato?
Swami: Quand'ero giovane ho viaggiato molto e ho sviluppato progetti di educazione,
sanità e distribuzione d'acqua. Ho parlato con migliaia e migliaia di persone e le ho
guidate nel cammino verso Dio. Quando ero giovane come te e il mio corpo era forte, ho
viaggiato fisicamente attraverso molti luoghi, ho conosciuto tante persone e le ho
guidate. Quando il corpo è diventato un po' più debole, sono rimasto più a lungo a
Prasanthi Nilayam e, da lì, ho chiamato a me la gente, ho parlato con i devoti e li ho
guidati. Infine, quando il corpo è diventato ancora più debole, non potevo più parlare o
fare nulla, potevo soltanto comparire in pubblico per il darshan e tornarmene indietro.
Almeno in questo modo, sono stato in grado di servire ancora la gente. Poi il corpo è
diventato ancora più debole. Non ero nemmeno in grado di comparire in pubblico per
dare il darshan. Qual è l'utilità di un corpo che non può essere di aiuto a nessuno? E’
meglio abbandonare un corpo come quello. Non ho alcun attaccamento al corpo. Io sono
attaccato soltanto al mio lavoro.
Il mio corpo venne tra voi soltanto per farvi capire che Dio esiste. Prima pensavate che
Dio fosse a Puttaparthi. Si doveva andare a Puttaparthi per stare con Swami. Ora, dal
momento che non c’è più il corpo, vi sto insegnando che sono dentro di voi. Non c'è
bisogno di andare da nessuna parte per vedere Swami. Potete vedere Swami dentro di
voi. Infine, realizzerete che Swami non è differente da voi. Swami è voi stessi, Swami
siete voi. Questo è ciò che sto insegnando. Ecco perché ho lasciato il corpo. Continuerò
con questa forma di energia per qualche altro anno finché arriverà il prossimo Avatar.

Con il Corpo Fisico sono venuto, davo il darshan e ho fatto il mio lavoro. Ora, nel Corpo
Sottile potete percepirmi attraverso la vostra mente. Una mente pura e calma può
vedermi. Ecco come mi si può raggiungere adesso. Col mio Corpo Superiore Sottile,
invece, vengo nei tuoi sogni. Non sei tu a chiamarmi, sono Io che vengo perché è mio
desiderio. Non c'è più uno Swami fisico, c'è soltanto il Corpo Superiore Sottile di Swami.
Quando annullerò completamente anche questa mia identificazione con tutti i corpi, Io
sono il Dio Onnipresente. Questa è la verità.
8.
Domanda: Ho letto un libro sulle relazioni, soprattutto sulle relazioni tra le coppie, e
vorrei sapere come comportarmi in un rapporto in cui una persona vuole continuare la
relazione famigliare mentre l'altra non lo vuole più.
Swami: Se le persone entrano nella vita una dell’altra, non è a causa della loro scelta di
oggi, si tratta di una runanubandham, ovvero di un debito da pagare da molte, molte
nascite. Questa connessione va ben oltre il tempo presente. La gente si ritrova a causa
del passato. Tuttavia, lo scopo del loro incontro è quello di raggiungere Dio.
9.
Domanda: Come è possibile diventare più puri nei pensieri, nelle parole e nelle azioni?
Swami: Che cos'è la purezza? L'altruismo è purezza. Più si diventa altruisti, più si
diventa puri. L'unica differenza tra l'uomo e Dio sono i desideri. I desideri rendono
l’amore di Dio impuro.
Se vi è possibile amare tutti, senza alcuna aspettativa, se coltivate l'amore per il solo
piacere di amare, allora diventerete puri. Credete nel potere dell'amore! Vi porterà tutto
quello che serve, ma potrebbe non darvi tutto ciò che volete. Quindi, se potete amare
disinteressatamente diventerete più puri.
10. Domanda: Ci sono alcune persone che pensano che il loro credo sia superiore al credo
religioso altrui. Come è possibile convincerle che tutte le fedi hanno uguale dignità?

Swami: Verità e vera conoscenza è vedere l'Unità in tutto. Nell’unicità, come può
qualcuno essere superiore e qualcuno inferiore? Tutti sono uguali. Quindi, non si
dovrebbero nemmeno ascoltare queste persone. Perché dovete seguire ciò che si ascolta
e ciò che viene detto? Trovate la verità da voi stessi. Solo chi ha sperimentato Dio
diventerà Dio. Senza averLo provato, nessuno può definire Dio.
11.
Domanda: Insieme con un amico ho creato un'associazione basata sui tuoi valori
umani che è attiva anche nelle scuole. Vorrei avere la tua benedizione e sapere cosa
possiamo fare per migliorare.
Swami: I valori si insegnano meglio praticandoli. Una volta che li pratichi, ricaverai
gioia e la gioia vi farà praticare ulteriormente. Pratica tu e aiuta gli altri a praticare.
Diventate più gentili con i vostri genitori, più rispettosi con i vostri anziani, più
comprensivi nei confronti dei vostri stessi compagni e più amorevoli con i vostri giovani.
Potete praticare questi valori e incoraggiarne la pratica.
12. Domanda: Oggi nel mondo ci sono molti maestri illuminati. E' vero che sono tutte tue
manifestazioni?
Swami: Ieri ho detto che c'è un solo sole. In India si chiama “sole indiano”, in Italia
possono chiamarlo “sole italiano”, così come in America potranno chiamarlo “sole
americano”, ma il sole è uno solo. Se si riflette in diverse pozze d'acqua e voi vedete molti
suoi riflessi, non significa che ci siano molti soli. Tutti sono riflessi dello stesso Dio. Tutto
il bene è Dio.

CISTERNINO:
18 Aprile 2015 – Sessione pomeridiana
1.
Ho sempre affermato: 'L’amore
è la mia forma'. Non ho mai detto: 'Il
corpo è la mia forma'. L’amore
stesso che alimentate dentro di voi è
la prova della mia presenza. Non c’è
altra definizione di Dio. Il cuore
pieno di amore è divino. Il sole si
riflette nell’acqua pura e pulita:
analogamente, Dio si riflette nei
cuori liberi dall’egoismo.
2. Finora avete sperimentato il
mio amore. Ora è il momento di
passarlo a coloro che hanno sete di
questo amore. In passato ho lavorato
attraverso il mio corpo, ora
continuerò attraverso i miei devoti. I
vostri corpi sono il mio corpo. Le
vostre mani sono le mie mani. I
vostri piedi sono miei piedi. La
vostra visione è la mia visione. Il
vostro cuore è il mio cuore. In verità,
non c'è differenza tra voi e me. Esiste
solo nell'ignoranza della mente. Una
volta che la mente svanisce, tra voi e
me non c'è più differenza.
Così come non potete vedere il vostro riflesso nello specchio se è coperto da un telo, allo
stesso modo non potete vedere il vostro vero Sé a causa della presenza della mente. La
mente non è altro che un insieme di desideri. Finché ci sono i desideri, è difficile sentire
Dio. Pertanto, se rimuoverete uno per uno i suoi fili, il telo scomparirà. Rimuovete uno
a uno tutti i vostri desideri egoistici e ciò che rimarrà sarà l'amore disinteressato: allora
sarà possibile vedere nello specchio il riflesso chiaro del vostro cuore, che non è altro che
il mio stesso riflesso. E’ tempo ora che i miei devoti agiscano per rispecchiare veramente
quell'amore che ho posto nei loro cuori e lo condividano con tutti quelli che non ne
hanno.
3.
La mia missione è in espansione. Non farà che crescere più velocemente perché userò
ciascuno di voi come la mia stessa forma. Ho detto che mi sarei moltiplicato in tanti e
che avrei continuato il mio lavoro, con ciò non significa che in ogni strada e in ogni luogo
vedrete Sai Baba. Quello che voglio dire è che lavorerò attraverso ciascuno di voi.
Ognuno di voi rifletterà me. Ognuno di voi diventerà la mia forma e il mondo saprà che
Sai Baba non è andato da nessuna parte. Egli è lì, all'interno di ciascuno dei suoi devoti
e continua il suo lavoro. E' tempo di cambiare, di iniziare la ricerca spirituale dentro e
non fuori.

Questo luogo diventerà certamente un importante centro spirituale in futuro. Non
perché ho deciso così. Non perché qualcuno ha deciso così. Accadrà soltanto se la vostra
fede incontrerà la mia grazia. Il sole splende in cielo, ma se le porte e le finestre sono
chiuse, la casa rimane buia. Non è colpa del sole. Aprite le finestre e le porte e lasciate
entrare la luce all'interno. Aprite la vostra mente, aprite i vostri cuori e riceverete
all’interno la mia grazia. Attivate tutti i vostri sforzi fino a che raggiungerete l’obiettivo
e non fermatevi fino a quando non avrete realizzato il vostro vero Sé, amando e servendo
tutti come veri riflessi di Swami.

Benedico questo luogo affinché in futuro possa diventare un grande centro spirituale per
l'intero Paese. Diventerà un Ashram molto grande nei tempi a venire e persone
provenienti da tutta Italia verranno qui per cercare conforto spirituale. Proprio come
l'approdo a un isola dà sollievo a chi sta nuotando nell’oceano, allo stesso modo questo
piccolo luogo diventerà un rifugio spirituale per tutti coloro che stanno lottando nelle
acque inquiete del mondo. Molte più persone di quante ne siano venute sinora verranno
qui: proprio come un fiume affiancato da molti altri rivoli diventa potente, allo stesso
modo questo piccolo corso d'acqua sarà affiancato da molti altri torrenti e diventerà un
fiume possente. So che vi state curando di questo luogo con grande fede e devozione e,
come ho detto, dove c'è amore c'è la devozione e Io lì mi manifesto. Quindi, nei tempi a
venire qui si svilupperà un centro spirituale. Iniziate a lavorare alla costruzione di un
tempio per i bhajan quì e allestite molte camere in cui possano riposarsi i devoti che qui
verranno per stare insieme, fare Satsang e seguire corsi spirituali. Entro un anno, ci
saranno significativi progressi. Quando Swami tornerà l'anno prossimo, qui ci sarà una
sala per riceverlo e non più questa tenda. Quando da questa radice, l'albero e tutti i rami
saranno sviluppati e quando ricomparirò nella prossima forma fisica di Avatar, qui
tornerò e questa, siatene certi, sarà la mia casa in Italia.
6.
Nel sogno (di un devoto che aveva parlato prima) dissi che non solo questo era il posto
esatto, ma anche che questo era il luogo dove Io sarei venuto. Oggi è l’inizio e ogni anno
accadrà la stessa cosa, fino a quando non darò il passo al prossimo Avatar. Sappiate
comunque che il prossimo non sarà un Avatar facile, come me. Sarà un insegnante molto
difficile e non parlerà quanto me. Insegnerà con il linguaggio del silenzio. Se non potete
capire e seguire le mie parole, come potrete comprendere e seguire il suo silenzio?
Quindi, prima che l’Avatar venga Io vi preparerò affinché quando sarete alla sua
presenza possiate capire cosa Egli dirà nel linguaggio del silenzio.
7.
Ho bisogno di questo tipo di devoti per continuare il mio compito. Tutto il lavoro
dipende dalle persone come voi. Costruire ospedali e scuole non è la mia missione. La
vostra Trasformazione è la mia missione. L’Età dell’Oro, che sta per sorgere, non sarà
avviata da me o da qualsiasi altro Avatar, ma da voi stessi. Proprio come il padre si ritira
e lascia la responsabilità sulle spalle del figlio, ho posto su di voi questa grande
responsabilità di portare nel mondo la pace e l'amore. Siate forti! Siate coraggiosi! Non
vacillate. Siate fermi! E consolidate questa vostra responsabilità. Seguite il mio percorso
e io vi seguirò, ovunque voi siate e mi manifesterò in ogni fase del vostro viaggio. Io
riempirò ogni cellula del vostro essere con la mia Divinità e voi diventerete templi di Dio
in movimento. Guardando voi, la gente guarderà Swami. Toccando voi, sentiranno il
tocco di Swami. Parlandovi, sentiranno di aver parlato con Swami. Stando con voi, si
sentiranno in presenza di Swami. Questa è oggi la possente responsabilità che metto
nelle vostre mani. Portatela avanti con ferma fede e convinzione. Io vi aiuterò. La mia
grazia è lì in abbondanza, proprio come la pioggia che si riversa nei torrenti. Ma quanta
ne possiate raccogliere dipende dalle dimensioni del contenitore.

Non abbiate menti meschine e cuori meschini. Espandetevi con l'espansione dell’amore
e catturare più pioggia possibile: andate dall' 'Io' al 'Noi' e dal 'Noi' a 'Lui'. Dall'egoismo
all'altruismo, dall’altruismo al vero Sé. Sono certo che i miei devoti non mi deluderanno,
come Io non ho mai deluso loro. Ho posto grande fiducia in voi. Siate degni di questa
fiducia.
8.
Domanda: Swami, quale deve essere il nostro comportamento nei Centri Sai che hai
creato? Come saprai, ci sono delle difficoltà al momento attuale. Quindi come dobbiamo
comportarci?
Swami: Ho sempre detto di non seguire il corpo: il corpo è una bolla d’acqua. Di non
seguire la mente: la mente è una scimmia pazza. Seguite il cuore: nel cuore risiede Dio.
Il cuore parla della verità. Si arriva a Dio solo attraverso il cuore, non attraverso la mente.
Che scopo può esserci nell’ottenere il possesso di tutto il mondo ma non del vostro vero
Sé? Una volta che avete conquistato il vero Sé, qual è lo scopo per il quale conquistare il
mondo?
Tutte le organizzazioni, le istituzioni, tutti i Centri vivono per un solo scopo: portarvi più
vicini al vostro vero Sé, che sono Io. Se vi è di aiuto partecipare alla loro attività, allora
partecipate. Ma se tutto ciò, messo insieme, non vi porta più vicini al vostro cuore, ma
lo riempite di aridi ragionamenti e di inquietudini, allora è meglio camminare da soli
lungo il giusto percorso. Sta a voi decidere e la risposta viene da dentro, non da fuori.
Così come un altro non può mangiare per voi, dormire per voi o respirare per voi,
nessuno può scegliere il percorso per voi. Dovete sceglierlo da soli. Questa è vera
spiritualità.
9.
Domanda: Che cosa possiamo fare per i giovani che sono disperati perché oggi non c’è
posto per loro nella nostra società?

Swami: I giovani sono come grandi fiumi: troveranno la loro strada. Hanno così tanta
energia da poter spaccare le pietre e crearsi il loro percorso. Chiedono soltanto direttive.
Pertanto, se gli date soltanto direttive predicando e parlando, non gli sarà di grande
aiuto. Se invece gli camminate davanti sulla giusta strada, allora li potrete guidare. Se
voi resterete fermi e gli direte di camminare, non andranno da nessuna parte. I giovani
imparano soltanto attraverso l’esempio. Dategli un esempio e potrete portarli alla giusta
destinazione. Sono giovani, hanno energia e una lunga vita davanti. Saranno in grado di
trovare la loro strada anche con una piccola indicazione. Quindi guidateli con l’esempio.
Questo è il servizio migliore che possiate fare alla gioventù. Con le sole parole e i consigli,
non li guiderete e non potrete aiutarli molto. Con la vostra esperienza di vita e la
conoscenza che avete del bene e del male, li potete invece dirigere. Per il resto saranno
loro a prendersi cura di se stessi. Ma non dategli cose con troppa facilità, ciò li fa
diventare pigri. Dargli cose che li rende indolenti non è compassione. Se davvero siete
compassionevoli nei loro confronti, mostrategli il giusto sentiero, così che anche dopo
che sarete andati via da tempo seguiranno il corretto cammino e raggiungeranno la loro
destinazione. Non pensate al loro oggi. Insegnategli ciò che può aiutarli domani. Che voi
esistiate o meno, le vostre direttive dovrebbero aiutarli a continuare il loro viaggio.
Guidateli col vostro stesso esempio. Questo è il miglior seva che potete fare ai giovani.
10. Domanda: Swami, qual è la differenza fra spiritualità e devozione?
Swami: La devozione è come un fiume. La spiritualità è come un oceano. La
destinazione finale della devozione è la spiritualità. Così come tutti i fiumi fluiscono
nell’oceano, tutte le devozioni devono infine condurvi alla vita spirituale.
Che cos’è la devozione? Fare qualsiasi cosa per amore di Dio è devozione, che vi laviate
i denti, indossiate i vostri abiti, mangiate il cibo, andiate al lavoro o andiate a cantare i
bhajan, oppure serviate qualcuno, se lo fate con amore, questa è devozione. Altrimenti
rimane mero lavoro. Anche il bhajan può restare soltanto una canzone se privata
dell’amore per Dio. Può restare un bel glorioso pezzo di musica, ma non potrà toccarvi o
trasformarvi. L’amore per Dio in ogni atto della giornata è devozione.

Che cos’è la spiritualità? E’ la consapevolezza del vostro Vero Divino Sé. E’ la
consapevolezza che nulla è diverso, che tutto è Uno. Tutti gli esseri, tutta la gente, gli
oggetti stessi vibrano tutti di divinità. Essere in grado di vivere in questa costante
consapevolezza di verità è spiritualità. Comunque voi raggiungiate questa Costante
Consapevolezza Integrata: attraverso la devozione, che è bhakthi marga, o lo facciate con
una costante meditazione, che è jnana marga, oppure attraverso il costante servizio agli
altri rinunciando ai frutti delle vostre azioni, che è karma marga, tutte le strade vi
porteranno infine a questa costante consapevolezza della verità. Così come tanti fiumi si
riversano nell’oceano, analogamente, che si pratichi karma, bhakthi o jnana, tutti questi
fiumi vi portano alla destinazione ultima: la spiritualità. La spiritualità non conosce
differenze fra questi sentieri.
11.
Domanda: Swami, sicuramente posso sentire il tuo amore qui oggi, ma sono molto
preoccupato per le separazioni e le divisioni nella famiglia Sathya Sai in giro per il
mondo. In Italia ci sono molti devoti Sai, tanta buona gente che ti ama e che è pronta a
dare la vita per te. Sfortunatamente non siamo in grado di lavorare tutti insieme. Allora
ti prego, Swami, dimmi che cosa posso fare. Cosa possiamo fare? Questa vita non è utile
se non siamo capaci di trovare il modo di dire ai nostri fratelli e alle nostre sorelle che ci
amiamo e ci accettiamo così come siamo.
Swami: Attualmente, ci sono milioni di persone in ogni continente che credono alla
divinità di Sri Sathya Sai Baba; ciononostante, se chiedi a Sreenivas, a Narasimha
Murthy e Tigrett saprai che c’erano giorni nei quali nessuno credeva che Sathya Sai Baba
fosse Dio, eccetto una manciata di persone. C’è stata gente che ha anche scritto contro
Swami. Anche allora quando i devoti venivano e mi chiedevano: “Swami, dici che tutti
sono la tua gente, allora perché non tutti sono in grado di capire e diventare Uno con
tutti noi? Perché scrivono e parlano contro di te?”. Anche per loro la mia risposta era la
stessa, quella che ti do oggi.
Due fratelli possono divergere sul cibo preparato dalla loro madre. Quello che avrà più
fame dirà che il cibo è davvero gustoso. Loderà la madre per aver preparato un pranzo
delizioso. Mentre l’altro fratello lo definirà ordinario, tale e quale quello di ogni altro
giorno. La diversità di opinione non deriva dalla qualità del cibo, bensì dall’intensità
della fame interiore. Lo stesso cibo sarà gustoso per quello affamato, ma mediocre per
quello che è già sazio.
Proprio come la madre nutre il bambino più affamato per primo, alcuni devoti sono
venuti prima. Altri verranno dopo. Si tratta sempre della battaglia tra mente e cuore.
Ogni singola battaglia combattuta attualmente nel mondo è in realtà la battaglia tra la
mente e il cuore. La mente, anche se conosce la verità, si preoccupa di ciò che gli altri
potrebbero pensare e spinge l'uomo ad ascoltare gli altri, piuttosto che se stesso. Il cuore
comunque conosce la verità e anche se gli altri dicono diversamente, crede in sé e il
devoto lo segue. Seguite il cuore. Coloro che seguono il cuore si riuniranno tutti. Vi
assicuro che alla fine tutti saranno uniti. Alcuni raggiungono il traguardo per primi, altri
lo raggiungeranno in un secondo momento. Ognuno dovrà finire la gara, un giorno.
Nella ricerca spirituale l'abbandono non è un'opzione.
12. Domanda: Cosa possiamo fare per avere più pace tra i Paesi? In Italia abbiamo il
problema dell’immigrazione. Molta gente arriva con barche in condizioni disperate.

Swami: Se la gente viene con buone intenzioni, dovete accettarla a braccia aperte. Se
potete permettervi di alimentarne un po' di più, dovete dar loro da mangiare. Se sono
disperati e indifesi, l'aiuto deve essere totale. Se, invece, dovessero prendersi un indebito
vantaggio a causa della nostra generosità, non dovreste consentirlo. Come cittadini avete
il dovere di proteggere il vostro Paese. Se qualche cosa danneggia il vostro Paese, dovete
fare ogni sforzo per opporvi. Se vi è l'evidenza, però, che qualcuno ha bisogno di aiuto e
ne è meritevole, il Paese e i suoi cittadini debbono fornirglielo. Anche se si concedesse a
più migranti di entrare nel Paese, chiedetevi: il Paese è in grado di nutrirli? Se non
possono essere alimentati, diventeranno criminali. Se non possono guadagnare da un
lavoro perfino faticoso, vorranno guadagnare attraverso modi sbagliati. Pertanto,
bisogna fornire loro istruzione e posti di lavoro, in modo che possano guadagnare e
nutrirsi, oppure trovare un modo per fermarli. Coloro che vengono con buone
intenzioni, disposti a lavorare e guadagnare e prendersi cura di se stessi, devono essere
aiutati”.

Domanda: Mi rattristano molto i tanti omicidi nei vari paesi. Che possiamo fare? Tutte
queste azioni terribili non sono divine, ma solo umane.
Swami: In tutte le ere, in qualunque tempo, c’è sempre stata gente buona e altra non
buona. Se vuoi illuminare tutto il mondo, sarà cosa impossibile, ma puoi certamente
accendere una lampada nel tuo cuore e assicurarti che coloro che sono intorno a te, siano
gentili e compassionevoli. Per questo motivo abbiamo la preghiera Samastha Lokah
Sukhino Bhavanthu. Comunque, visto che non puoi aiutare il mondo intero, non
significa che non puoi fare proprio nulla. Assicurati, almeno, che le persone della tua
cerchia, con cui sei in comunicazione, siano pieni di amore e compassione. Se ciascuno
fa un piccolo sforzo per creare un cambiamento, questo accadrà sicuramente.
Siamo in tempi dove stanno per accadere cose bellissime. Così come la stagione cambia
ed alcuni fiori cadono ed altri crescono, analogamente, in questi tempi di cambiamento,
il male distruggerà se stesso attraverso la lotta. La gente dharmica entrerà nel prossimo
livello. Come accade in una scuola, coloro che non hanno studiato non passeranno e non
saranno promossi. Ma voi metteteci tutto lo sforzo, per aiutare più persone possibile e
pregate per il resto.

19 Aprile 2015 – Sessione mattutina
1.
Oggi che siete cresciuti, siete sorpresi nel pensare che voi stessi per un giocattolo
insignificante avete litigato con altri. Quando guardi tuo figlio litigare con i compagni,
sorridi e dici che in fondo essi sono bambini, non sanno e per questo litigano. La verità
è: ‘Ma siamo davvero cresciuti?’. Dovremmo porcela questa domanda. Da piccoli ci
battevamo per giocattoli come una mazza o una palla, ora siamo alla ricerca di grandi
giocattoli come una macchina o una casa. Dopo i pochi amici di scuola, coi quali abbiamo
giocato, abbiamo visto entrare nelle nostre vite amici più importanti e persone più
grandi. Così come un ragazzo che non è felice con un piccolo giocattolo e ne vuole uno
più grande, cerchiamo costantemente di raggiungere la felicità con macchine più grandi,
case più grandi e maggiore benessere. Lottiamo per raggiungerli giorno e notte. Una
volta raggiunti questi traguardi, siamo felici per qualche tempo, ma allorché vediamo
altra gente che ha qualcosa di più prezioso di ciò che abbiamo noi, la lotta ricomincia per
possedere quel che ci appare un tesoro. Non c’è fine a questa avidità.
In questa eterna ricerca della felicità noi nasciamo e moriamo, per nascere e morire
ancora, ripetutamente, in un ciclo di nascite e morti. Il solo modo di sfuggire a questo
costante ciclo di nascite e morti è capire che tutto ciò che si trova fuori di noi non è altro
che illusione. La vera felicità o la vera gioia provengono da dentro.
2.
Il malessere di cui i giovani di oggi soffrono non è un malessere del corpo, ma della
mente. Così come un'infezione del corpo porta la febbre, rendendo insipido anche il cibo,
allo stesso modo l’avidità corrompe la nostra mente così che anche il delizioso nome di
Dio non ha più alcun sapore. A causa delle nostre tante vite impegnate nella ricerca della
felicità materiale, tutti soffriamo di questa infezione della mente che ci priva del piacere
di sentire il profumo dell’amore che si trova nel nostro cuore.

Solo quando si prende la medicina giusta, accompagnata dalla dieta adeguata, ci si può
liberare di questa infezione e del conseguente malessere. La medicina per questo male è
ricordare il nome di Dio, praticare il Nasmarana (la continua pronuncia del suo nome n.d.r) e la dieta appropriata è dare un Tetto ai Desideri. Se volete coltivare un desiderio,
fate che non sia soltanto per i vostri scopi egoistici, ma che sia un desiderio allargato per
il benessere di tutti. Quando recitate Samastha Lokaha Sukhino Bhavanthu, state
pregando affinché tutti gli esseri di tutti i mondi siano felici. Se tutti gli esseri del mondo
sono felici, fra costoro non ci siete anche voi? Allora anche voi sarete felici.
3.
I problemi nella vita sono gli stessi per tutti, ma a dispetto delle nostre difficoltà c’è
sempre un modo per essere felici. Se pensate soltanto ai vostri grattacapi e a come
risolverli, non sarete mai capaci di risolverli ed essere contenti. Anche in quei momenti
di depressione e disperazione, se riuscite a pensare a coloro che vivono veramente nella
sofferenza, dimenticando la vostra, facendo qualcosa per loro invece che solo per voi,
siate certi che Dio verrà e risolverà i vostri problemi. Aiutate gli altri e Dio aiuterà voi.
4.
Oggigiorno tutti chiedono a Swami: “Hai promesso che tra qualche anno inizierà l’Età
dell’Oro. Quando arriverà?”. Rispondo sempre che non verrà in una particolare data del
calendario. Accadrà nel momento in cui il vostro cuore diventerà d’oro. Dal momento
che la vostra visione cambierà, tutto il mondo si modificherà intorno a voi.
5.
Narasimha Murthy (presente all'incontro-n.d.r.) ha raccontato la storia di Duryodhana.
Duryodhana sapeva cosa fosse giusto, ma non aveva la forza d’animo di battersi per
realizzarlo. Sapeva che cosa fosse sbagliato ma non aveva la forza d’animo di fermarsi di
fronte all'errore. Pertanto non portò la rovina soltanto su di sé, ma anche su tutta la sua
tribù.
6.
Dov’è Dio? E’ a Puttaparthi? A Muddenahalli? In una chiesa? O in un tempio? No, no!
Voi continuate a cercare in questo modo, proprio come il cervo cerca la fragranza al di
fuori di sé e l’assetato cerca l’acqua nel deserto. Non lo troverete al di fuori di voi. Lo
troverete internamente. Egli è voi. Non siete diversi da Lui. Nella vita, partecipiamo tutti
a un concorso in maschera e abbiamo messo un trucco che ci fa credere di essere italiani,
indiani, americani o britannici. Una volta che lo spettacolo sarà finito, tolto il costume e
rimosso il trucco, vi renderete conto che tutti sono Uno al proprio interno. Il corpo è
soltanto il costume. La mente è il trucco. In realtà il cuore è la vera persona. Non fatevi
illudere dall'apparenza esteriore, non lasciate che si sviluppi la diversità là dove essa non
esiste. Un uomo con l’amore nel cuore vede l’unità nella diversità e non la diversità
nell’unità. Se veramente amate Swami, allora amerete Swami che si trova in ogni
persona intorno a voi. Non c’è ragione di amare lo Swami che risiede a Puttaparthi,
andandovi e facendo un servizio a volte molto faticoso per poi non essere in grado di
servire fuori da Puttaparthi.
7.
Come i soldati prima di essere mandati in battaglia vengono addestrati nella loro città,
Puttaparthi era per voi soltanto una palestra di addestramento dove Swami vi ha
insegnato a combattere la vostra stessa negatività con le armi dell’amore e del servizio e
a cercarLo non fuori, ma dentro ciascuno di voi. Poiché quello era un terreno di
addestramento, eravate protetti e lì era tutto più facile, ma oggi siete nel mondo reale e
qui la battaglia è in atto. Qualunque cosa abbiate imparato, mettetela in pratica adesso.
Fate in modo che tutti gli sforzi che Swami ha fatto per addestrarvi non siano stati vani.

8.
Un maestro è davvero felice quando vede gli alunni imparare e mettere in pratica. Uno
studente è veramente tale non quando è stato ammesso in classe, ma allorché diventa
un autentico studente, cioè quando impara e pratica ciò che il Guru gli ha insegnato.
Swami è venuto per disperdere l’oscurità e l’ignoranza, che tutti sono diversi. Se
considerate Swami il vostro Guru, allora in verità tutti siamo Uno. Ecco perché Gesù
disse: “Tutti siamo Uno, miei cari figli. Siate equanimi con tutti”. Per realizzare ciò,
dovete togliere dal cuore questa maschera dell’egoismo. Rimuovere il trucco e gli
attaccamenti e realizzare finalmente che non siete italiani, indiani o americani, ma che
siete tutti incarnazioni dello stesso Swami.
9.
In questo mondo la maggior parte della gente è oggi sul sentiero dell’Adharma
(L'ingiusto Male-n.d.r.), ed è molto facile diventare adharmici e continuare a far parte
di quella moltitudine che marcia verso il proprio inquieto destino. E’ molto difficile e
richiede coraggio, invece, camminare da soli sul sentiero della verità. Non dovete
pensare che se tutti perseguono qualcosa, essa sia quella giusta. Anche se mille persone
dichiarano che la bugia è verità, essa non potrà mai diventare verità. Se nessuno chiama
la verità per quella che è, anche questa non potrà mai essere bugia. Pertanto, credete
nella verità che vi dico: non siete deboli. Non siete poveri. Non siete soli. Siete forti. Avete
il benessere dell’amore. Siete sempre con Swami e Swami è sempre con voi. Se davvero
credete a queste parole, portatele al cuore, mettetele in pratica ogni minuto della vostra
vita. Vi assicuro che l’Età dell’Oro è proprio qui e proprio adesso. Voi siete l’Età dell’Oro.
10. Io conto sulla mia gente affinché porti il mio messaggio nel mondo, non facendo discorsi
dai palchi o discutendo nei grandi forum, bensì nella semplicità, praticando
silenziosamente ciò che ho insegnato. Le azioni parlano più forte delle parole e nelle
vostre azioni tutti vedranno me; nelle vostre parole sentiranno me; nel vostro tocco
sentiranno me, perché voi diventerete davvero me stesso. Questo è ciò che aspetto dai
miei ragazzi. Avete una lunga vita davanti, siete ancora in tempo per correggervi. C'è
ancora tempo per correggere i vostri modi e raggiungere ciò che siete veramente. Coloro
che mi seguono, saranno seguiti da me e li seguirò ovunque. Anche la vostra ombra può
abbandonarvi in tempo di oscurità, ma Swami, che è dentro di voi, è sempre con voi, che
sia scuro o chiaro fuori. Portate questo Swami con voi, ovunque. Vivete in accordo con i
principi di Swami e vi assicuro che la vostra vita sarà sempre piena di beatitudine. La
vostra sola presenza darà beatitudine agli altri. Un migliaio di lampade accese non
possono eguagliare lo splendore del sole. Non possono portare la luce o il calore che il
sole può donare. Pertanto, diventate quel sole e diffondete questa luce d'amore, di
compassione e servizio nel mondo. Questo è il vero tributo a tutto ciò che Swami ha detto
e fatto per tutti voi.
11.
Ora Swami non ha un corpo. I vostri corpi sono il suo corpo. Le vostre mani sono le sue
mani. Il vostro discorso è il suo discorso. Le vostre azioni sono i suoi atti. Diventate puri,
liberatevi da ogni egoismo e dagli attaccamenti, abbiate coraggio e crediate che tutto ciò
che vi serve, dove è necessario, come e quando è necessario, Swami ve lo fornirà, pensate
agli altri e non pensate a voi stessi. Per lungo tempo avete pensato di essere Umani.
Abbandonate l'illusione. Siete Divini.
12. Domanda: Anche se sono un membro dell’Organizzazione Sri Sathya Sai, sono cento
volte più felice di essere qui. Il direttore del Consiglio di Prashanthi Nilayam e del
Consiglio Europeo ci hanno mandato una lettera in cui ci sono parole di Swami che mette
in guarda i devoti dicendo che tu non usi medium.

Quando questi dirigenti hanno saputo che saremmo venuti qui con tutto l’amore per il
nostro Divino Maestro, ci hanno detto che ci avrebbero “scomunicati” e hanno voluto
che ci dimettessimo dalle nostre cariche. Ricordo che nel passato Swami ha affermato
che dovevamo restare nell’organizzazione che tu hai creato, qualsiasi fosse il prezzo da
pagare. Ho seguito l’ordine di Baba. Non andrò via. Cento volte con più piacere, mi sento
unito a questi fratelli. Spero però che domani tutti i devoti di Bhagawan possano essere
uniti, perché il messaggio di Baba è sempre un invito all’Unità. Se mi dovessero però
mettere in difficoltà, dirò loro che l’atto della separazione saranno loro a farlo e non certo
io. Io sarò sempre con te.
Con umiltà chiedo a Baba: che cosa dobbiamo rispondere a queste persone che
continuano ad asserire che Baba quando era nel corpo affermò che non avrebbe mai
avuto nessun medium? Grazie Swami.
Swami: Swami è apparso a molte persone in tutto il mondo. Ci sono molti qui che non
hanno nemmeno visitato Puttaparthi ma che hanno visto, incontrato o sentito parlare
persone alle quali è apparso Swami che ha dato loro messaggi o che sono state da Lui
guidate a fare ciò che dovevano fare. Swami ha sempre avuto i propri imperscrutabili
strumenti e le proprie vie. Anche ora, è la stessa cosa. Coloro che vedono la diversità
negli altri, in realtà hanno paura. E' la paura di condividere con gli altri ciò che hanno
che gli fa dire che gli altri sono diversi da noi, così che non c'è bisogno di condividere ciò
che si possiede.
Cristo non appartiene alla Chiesa, è la Chiesa che appartiene a Cristo. Se la Chiesa vi
aiuta a raggiungere Cristo, allora siate nella Chiesa attraverso qualsiasi mezzo. Ma se
questa non vi consente di raggiungere il vero Sé, che è Cristo, allora dovreste avere il
coraggio di andarvene da soli e trovare la vostra strada.
Accettare ciò che fa comodo, ignorando ciò che non è gradito, non è la verità. Tutto
dovrebbe essere visto alla luce della verità. La mente è molto ingannevole. Sceglie di dire
la verità che le conviene, evitando quella scomoda. La mente presenta l'immagine che
vuole che tu veda. Ti dice ciò che desideri ascoltare. Il cuore, invece, dice la verità e
mostra l'immagine di ciò che è reale. Pertanto, nessuno può portarvi verso Dio o lontano
da Lui. E' solo il tuo cuore che può conoscere la verità e dice la verità. Segui il tuo cuore
e scoprirai te stesso.

Domanda: Non riesco a parlare alla presenza di più di due o tre persone in una stanza.
Molte volte ho avuto il timore di svegliarmi all'improvviso e di credere che tutto questo
fosse un sogno. Non penso di essere ancora nella fase dell’asilo e neanche prima. Per
favore, Swami, aiutami a capire la sottile differenza che c'è tra la fiducia in se stessi, che
io non ho poiché credo di non essere di alcuna utilità, e l'ego.
Swami: Niente è inutile in tutto ciò che ho creato. Anche un filo d'erba, che potrebbe
sembrare insignificante, nutre o dà riparo ad altre creature, gli insetti. Quando nasci
come essere umano, cioè il gioiello che è all’apice di tutta la creazione, come puoi pensare
di essere inutile? Il fatto stesso che Io ti stia dando un altro giorno di vita ti parla della
fede e della fiducia che ho in te. E' in ciò che devi credere. Sei vivo, e questa è la prova
che Swami pensa ancora che un giorno sarai al servizio degli altri. Se polvere si pensa di
essere, polvere si è. Se si pensa di essere Dio, Dio si è. Tutto dipende soltanto da ciò che
si pensa.

20 Aprile 2015 – Sessione mattutina
1.
Ho sempre detto, e continuo a dirlo, che il corpo è una bolla d'acqua. Viene e va in
pochissimo tempo. Fintantoché rimane una bolla, è diversa dalle acque da cui è emersa.
Fino a quando questa bolla esiste, esisteranno tutti i riflessi su di essa che vi fanno
credere che sia tutto vero, e invece non lo è. Solo quando la bolla scoppia e si fonde
nuovamente nell’oceano, tutti i riflessi scompariranno e si sarà diventati un tutt'uno in
esso. Finché avrete attaccamento ai vostri corpi e crederete che il corpo sia la verità
ultima, sarete sempre separati dalla vostra vera identità. Non seguite il corpo.
2.
La mente è una scimmia pazza, non pensa al passato, ne’ al futuro. Si occupa solo della
sua vita di oggi. E' felice se il suo stomaco è pieno in quel momento. Essa non si
preoccupa per gli altri. Se aveste mai visto un gruppo di scimmie che combattono per il
cibo, per il dominio del territorio, per la protezione della famiglia, capireste ciò che dico.
La mente è molto più di una scimmia pazza. Non seguite la mente, seguite il cuore.
Il cuore è la sede di Dio; è qui che risiede Sai. Nella parola “Sai”, ci sono tre lettere: S. A.
I. (See Always Inside ‘Guardate sempre dentro’ -un gioco di parole in inglese, n.d.r.). Voi
dovete trovare ciò che è nascosto nel luogo in cui è nascosto. Se lo cercate al di fuori, non
lo troverete. Io risiedo solo nella parte interna del vostro cuore. Pertanto, cercatemi
dentro di voi.

3.
Prima Io sono venuto in una forma, affinché poteste essere con me, vedermi, sentirmi e
sperimentarmi per quello che ero, senza molto sforzo. Ora mi sono elevato, affinché
possiate elevarvi con me e sentirmi nel vostro cuore, come fonte indistruttibile di gioia,
una fonte eterna di pace e una fonte inesauribile di beatitudine. Mi eleverò ancora più
in alto e farò venire anche voi con me per capire, finalmente, che io e voi siamo Uno.
4.
Anche Gesù Cristo prima disse: “Io sono il messaggero di Dio”. Egli sentiva che Dio era
diverso da lui. Questo è ciò che avete sentito quando ero nel corpo. Poi Lui ha detto: “Io
sono il figlio di Dio”. Significa che sentì di essere parte di Suo Padre e che non era diverso
dal Padre. È solo questione di quantità. La qualità è sempre la stessa in un grande
cristallo di zucchero, come in una piccola particella. Questa è l’adwaita bhaavam, il
sentimento di Unità. Questo è ciò che ora si deve sperimentare.
5.
Nella forma in cui mi trovavo, ho insegnato a coloro che non credevano nell'esistenza di
Dio, che Dio esiste. Egli è amore, Egli è compassione, e dovreste sviluppare l'amore per
Dio. Ora, in questa forma, vi sto insegnando che Dio non si trova al di fuori, è
esattamente con voi e con la vostra intensità di amare, Lo potrete sperimentare
all'interno. Portandovi ancora più in alto, vi insegnerò che Dio non è né fuori, né è
dentro, ma che voi siete Dio. Lui è voi. Non solo voi, tutti sono Dio.
6.
Se si vuole andare dal piano terra al secondo piano, si deve passare attraverso il primo
piano. Non si può andare direttamente dal piano terra al secondo piano. Quindi, ci sono
tre piani. Il piano terra è: “Dio esiste”. Abbi fede, abbi fede nel Suo amore, nella Sua
compassione. Egli è la fonte di tutta la pace e la gioia. Quando ti troverai lì, vedrai delle
scale che salgono al primo piano, dove sentirai in te: “Io sono una parte di Dio. Io non
sono diverso da Lui”. Vedrai altre scale che salgono e, se le sali, gradino dopo gradino, ti
renderai finalmente conto che tu e Dio siete Uno. Questo è quello che sto cercando di
fare con voi, tutto ciò che non è divino perdetelo, gradino dopo gradino.
7.
Tutti voi dite: “Fammi Divino, fammi Divino. Rendimi come te, rendimi come te”.
Quando ho iniziato a togliere in te tutto ciò che non è come me, hai pianto di dolore:
“Non voglio abbandonare questo, non voglio rinunciare a quest’altro”. Non potete essere
sulla terra e contemporaneamente in cielo. Se si desidera volare in cielo, si deve salire
oltre la terra. Non si può essere umani e anche divini. Bisogna rinunciare a questo
egoismo per salire in alto e diventare Divini. Un vaso non può avere aria e acqua. Se c'è
acqua, non c'è aria. Se c’è aria, non c'è acqua. Se c'è “io”, non c'è Sai. Se c'è Sai, non c'è
“io”. Meno “io”, più Sai. Più “io”, meno Sai. Il viaggio è: dall’ “Io” al “noi”, dal “noi” a
“Lui”. Dalla tua individualità alla società e dalla società alla Divinità. Questi sono i tre
punti. Per quanto se ne discuta, per quanto si spieghi, non si è in grado di capirlo. Si
capirà quando si praticherai anche in minima parte ciò che viene insegnato, altrimenti
non si capirà nulla.
8.
E' giunto il momento per i Miei devoti di mettere in pratica tutto quello che ho insegnato.
Anche se falliste qualche volta, non arrendetevi. Rinunciare non è la qualità del mio
devoto, perché non è nelle mie qualità la rinuncia. È inoltre necessario che seguiate le
mie orme e diventiate un esempio ideale per tutti coloro che non sono stati così fortunati
di vivermi in precedenza. Costoro verranno in cerca di soccorso, di pace e conforto. Essi
non mi troveranno, ma troveranno voi, e in voi troveranno me. Le vostre vite devono
diventare il mio messaggio. Vivete ogni momento in modo divino e siate la prova vera
delle mie parole: le “Incarnazioni della Divinità”, per il mondo intero.

Dimostrate loro, che il vostro Maestro non diceva falsità, quando affermava che voi siete
le Incarnazioni della Divinità, che Egli diceva la verità suprema. Ora, conducendo una
vita che palesi questa mia dichiarazione, porterete davvero gloria a voi stessi, al vostro
paese e a me. Vi benedico affinché ciascuno di voi mantenga le mie parole nel proprio
cuore, capisca quello che Swami dice e che lo metta in pratica. Per quanto difficile possa
essere, non arrendetevi, perché rinunciare non è una mia qualità e non deve essere la
qualità dei miei devoti. Dovremmo sforzarci finché non raggiungeremo il successo. Le
mie benedizioni sono in abbondanza.
9.
Domanda: Swami, come possiamo abbandonare la nostra identificazione con il corpo
e pensare a te tutto il tempo?
Swami: Se pensi che il corpo è tuo, non c'è nessun problema. Devi pur usare questo
corpo per arrivare a Dio, quindi il corpo deve essere curato, proprio come la vostra auto.
Pertanto, il corpo deve essere rispettato e curato, fintantoché si capisce che è solo un
veicolo per arrivare a Dio. Tuttavia, se sei così posseduto dalla consapevolezza del corpo
e ritieni che questo sia il tuo vero sé, e che non c'è nulla al di là del corpo, allora è questo
attaccamento al corpo che non è corretto. L'unico modo per sbarazzarsi di esso è, prima
di tutto, pensare che il corpo è solo uno strumento datovi per raggiungere Dio. Come si
fa a raggiungere Dio attraverso questo corpo? Utilizzandolo per servire gli altri:
piegando il corpo, piegando la mente. Fintantoché le tue mani non sono impegnate nel
servizio, la tua mente non può essere purificata. Pertanto, il corpo è uno strumento e gli
devi solo il dovuto rispetto. Niente di più, niente di meno.
Molte persone pensano che il corpo sia un ostacolo nella loro realizzazione e torturano i
loro corpi in tutti i modi. Se invece utilizzaste questo corpo per il servizio agli altri,
sareste orgogliosi di utilizzarlo per il bene altrui e non sviluppereste attaccamento.
10. Domanda: Caro Swami, spesso mi accorgo che non diamo molta attenzione alle
persone disabili. Penso che quando li serviamo, non dovremmo solo prenderci cura di
loro, ma aiutarli quanto più possibile, e aiutarli ad esempio con la loro famiglia.
Swami: Tutta la mia vita, mentre ero nel corpo, ho servito tante persone attraverso i
nostri vari progetti. Io continuo a farlo attraverso gli strumenti che ho ora.

Un giorno, un ragazzo mi chiese, “Swami, hai fatto abbastanza. Hai lottato tanto per
aiutare così tante persone. Almeno ora, potresti riposarti”. Gli ho risposto: “Non è in me
il riposo quando vedo gli altri che soffrono, perché io non li considero come gli altri. Essi
sono una parte di me, e così come ogni parte del mio corpo soffre, tutto il corpo soffre.
Un piccolo dolore al dente non permetterà al vostro corpo di dormire. Ma non lo
estirpate e gettate via solo perché fa male. Si cura. Allo stesso modo, quando si
incontrano i bisognosi dei poveri, non disfatevene come sfortunati e indesiderati. Sono
come la parte del corpo che ha bisogno di più attenzione.
Se si sente veramente l’unità con tutta la creazione, non è necessario darvi un libro di
regole su come aiutare. Il tuo cuore saprà cosa fare.
11.
Domanda: Sai Ram, Bhagawan. Tu hai detto che Il tuo soggiorno nel Corpo Sottile
durerà per altri sei anni. Puoi dirci qualcosa circa la tua futura incarnazione come Prema
Sai?
Swami: Prema Sai non sarà un Avatar facile. Io sono un insegnante molto indulgente,
faccio passare tutti. Anche se si scrive una sola lettera, io do ”la sufficienza” e aiuto a
passare. Prema Sai è come un professore. All’università, dovete fare da soli i vostri
compiti. Nessuno verrà a insegnarvi, dovete insegnare a voi stessi. Solo quando avrete
dei dubbi o delle domande potrete chiedere al professore. Sathya Sai ha parlato molto.
Non solo ha parlato, ma ha fatto un sacco di cose per mantenere la vostra attenzione in
classe. Ho dovuto fare molti miracoli per mantenere la vostra attenzione, proprio come
fa un insegnante di scuola elementare che a volte canta una canzone, racconta una storia,
o balla per mantenere gli studenti attenti. Con Prema Sai, invece, a meno che non
abbiate fatto il vostro dovere, non sarete in grado di capirlo. Lui sarà un Maestro
silenzioso; parlerà da cuore a cuore. Questo è il miglior linguaggio. Le parole
contaminano il pensiero. Il pensiero puro viene comunicato nel cuore. Non viene
attraverso la bocca. A meno che il vostro cuore non è sintonizzato per ricevere quel
segnale, non capirete niente.
Io sono un insegnante disattento! Lascio i fogli con le risposte qui, affinché possiate
praticare ed essere sicuri di passare. Ora è tutto nelle vostre mani e dovete metterci voi
lo sforzo. Ho fatto la mia parte. Voi fate la vostra.
12. Domanda: A volte, a causa del nostra ego, oppure per il senso di giustizia, noi
roviniamo il rapporto che abbiamo con una persona che si ama, e le strade si separano.
In seguito, attraverso le tue parole, si arriva ad un punto di pentimento, a causa anche
delle azioni sbagliate che riconosciamo di aver commesso. Tuttavia, anche se abbiamo
raggiunto un senso di perdono o di pace per cui abbiamo interrotto la relazione, a volte
la persona non ricambia il rispetto o il perdono, che porta un grande senso di colpa.
Come possiamo aiutarci a superare questo sentimento? Per sentire che non abbiamo
offeso noi stessi, l'altra persona, o i tuoi insegnamenti?
Swami: L’ego è la causa principale di tutti i mali. Se vi siete resi conto di aver fatto un
errore, siete già al 50%. Molte persone non si rendono nemmeno conto dell’errore che
hanno fatto. A causa del loro ego, per tutta la vita, continuano a incolpare gli altri. Se vi
siete resi conto che l’errore è stato vostro, avete già vinto la battaglia. Questo vi renderà
più tranquilli. Tuttavia, realizzare questo non è di per sé sufficiente. Dovete fare ogni
sforzo per correggere le vostre azioni. L'amore è la chiave principale che può aprire
qualsiasi cuore. Pregate, pregate, pregate. Pregate Dio di aiutarvi.

Pregate Dio di darvi quell'amore, sia in termini di qualità sia in termini di quantità.
13.
Domanda: Swami, stiamo attraversando momenti difficili per la nostra nazione e per
il pianeta. Oggi, Swami è arrivato e benedetto l'Italia con la sua presenza. Tuttavia, siamo
preoccupati per il futuro del nostro paese. In questo cambiamento spirituale che sta
accadendo, qual è il ruolo dell’Italia?
Swami: Per lungo tempo, l'Italia è stata guidata dall’avidità per le ricchezze materiali.
Proprio come accade quando si mangia troppo e nel momento sbagliato si sviluppano
dolori di stomaco, l'unico modo per curarlo è non mangiare per un certo periodo.
L'avidità che ha portato l'Italia in questo stato può essere annullata solo modificando
questa abitudine, e riapprendere la virtù dell’accontentarsi. Questa è la terra di Dio.
Questa è la terra dei Santi. Tutti loro non sono andati da nessuna parte. Sono tutti qui,
vi proteggono, sono qui a dirvi la verità. Avrebbe potuto andare peggio. Se l'Italia non si
è ancora fatta a pezzi, è per via delle benedizioni di grandi Santi.
Non ti preoccupare. Il futuro dell’Italia è al sicuro, ma il futuro non è come ti aspetti che
sia. Il progresso non è al di fuori, ma è dentro. E’ proprio a causa di questa sofferenza
che l'Italia sta attraversando questo, niente altro che il risultato di una eccessiva avidità
per soddisfare la quale, molti hanno preso un percorso adharmico (ingiusto). L'unica
soluzione possibile è che le persone diventino più spirituali, e capire che il progresso non
è fuori, ma dentro. Quando ognuno di voi accenderà questa lampada d'amore nei vostri
cuori e la porterà ovunque andiate, accendendo molte più luci con questa lampada, le
tenebre d'Italia scompariranno.
Se sviluppate la forza spirituale, il giorno in cui tutta l'Italia sarà piena di felicità, non è
lontano. Insegnate questo ai vostri figli. Dopo ogni estate c'è un inverno, seguito da una
primavera, e una nuova estate. Questo è il ciclo mutevole del mondo. Ogni volta che la
gente va sulla strada dell’adharma, che soffre a causa delle sue azioni, è allora che guarda
verso Dio. Poi crescono spiritualmente e trovano la soluzione a tutti i loro problemi.
Questa terra non sta per perire. Coloro che non appartengono allo spirito di questa terra,
questi sì che periranno. Coloro che sono dharmici e spirituali continueranno a
prosperare.

ROMA:
20 Aprile 2015 – Sessione pomeridiana
1.
Tutto al mondo è transitorio. Il benessere che possedete, le persone con cui avete delle
relazioni e persino la vostra gioventù sono provvisori. Sono tutte nuvole passeggere. La
sola cosa che rimane permanente è l'onestà con cui vivete e il buon nome che vi costruite.
2.
In quest'età moderna tutti vogliono diventare immortali, essere ricordati per sempre ed
essere amati da tutti. Ma non sanno come riuscirci. Pensano, avendo tanti soldi, che
possano grazie a ciò diventare famosi, ricchi ed essere ricordati per sempre. Oppure,
acquisendo molto potere e posizioni autorevoli, che possano governare la nazione ed
essere anche per questo ricordati per sempre. Oppure, più semplicemente, essere
ricordati per sempre perché hanno una famiglia, dei figli, nipoti e pronipoti. Eppure,
niente di tutto questo è vero.
3.
Solo il buon nome e la verità prevalgono per sempre. Tutto il resto che appare duraturo
in realtà è soltanto fugace e momentaneo e un attimo dopo è già scomparso. Quando gli
oggetti fuori, nel mondo esterno, sono così caduchi, come si può trarre da essi gioia
permanente?
Il segreto sta nelle lettere della parola JOY: prima c’è la J che sta per Jesus, poi la O che
sta per Other, gli Altri o il Prossimo, poi la Y che sta per Yourself ovvero per Te stesso
(acronimo inglese JOY da J=Jesus, O=Others, Y=Yourself- Gesù, gli altri, te stesso).
Gesù vi compare per primo, gli altri subito dopo, infine ci sei tu. Questo è il più breve
percorso per raggiungere la gioia permanente. Se inserite Dio per primo nella vostra vita
e qualunque cosa facciate la fate per amore di Dio, sarete in grado di trovare la vera gioia.
Se pensate prima agli altri, anziché a voi, facendo tutto a beneficio degli altri, anziché di
voi stessi, troverete la gioia. Se riuscite a mettervi ultimi della lista e dare la priorità ai
bisogni altrui, prima che al vostro, ci sarà la gioia.

Una volta raggiunta la fede in Dio, dovreste conservarla a tutti i costi. Chiedere a Dio di
dimostrare la sua Divinità a ogni passo non è una qualità del buon devoto. Una volta che
hai dato il tuo cuore a Dio, non chiederlo indietro. Una volta dato, è dato. Dio si prenderà
cura di tutto il resto.
5.
Sia Sreenivas così Tigrett hanno dedicato tutta la loro vita a Swami. E come li ha usati,
Swami? Non per se stesso, non per loro stessi, ma per gli altri. Quando lasciai il mio
corpo, tutti costoro erano molto tristi. Si sentivano davvero perduti. Non sapevano più
cosa fare della loro vita, perché non sapevano come stare al mondo senza Swami. Non
avevano alcun motivo per continuare la loro vita senza di Lui. Sapevano di essere
soltanto degli “zeri”. Swami era il loro Eroe. Swami allora si mise di fronte a questi “zeri”
e ridonò valore alle loro vite. Per tener fede alla mia promessa, sono ritornato a fargli
visita in questo modo, dando loro indicazioni per aiutarmi a continuare la mia missione
al servizio della società, servendo i poveri, i bisognosi, servendo tutti coloro che hanno
bisogno di aiuto, indipendentemente dalla casta, dal credo, dalla religione o dalla
nazionalità.
Qui siete tutti giovani, proprio come allora lo erano loro. Avete una lunga vita davanti a
voi. La vostra stazione di arrivo comparirà all'orizzonte molto tardi. Altri, invece,
dovranno scendere lungo il percorso. Avete quindi tanto tempo, fatene un buon uso ogni
minuto e rendete la vostra vita degna di essere vissuta.
6.
Non pensiate di essere deboli. Voi siete i figli dell'immortalità. Voi siete i figli di Dio.
Siete fatti a mia immagine. Non siete meno di me. Non pensiate di essere deboli e soli.
Swami è con voi, in ogni momento. Sviluppate questa forte fede, vivete la vostra vita
nella fede e siate testimoni dei miracoli che accadono, così tanti miracoli, in ogni
momento della vostra vita. Il mondo vi guarderà crescere come giganti spirituali e gli
altri vedranno me riflesso in voi: mille riflessi, proprio come un sole che si riflette in
migliaia di corpi d’acqua, altrettanto brillanti e potenti. Il mondo saprà di me grazie a
voi.

Quando Gesù era vivo e aveva molti nemici, i cosiddetti discepoli lo abbandonarono per
paura di perdere la propria vita. Che cosa diede loro la forza allora di tornare e
raccontare di Lui? Che cosa li rese così coraggiosi? Che cosa gli fece sopportare tanta
sofferenza e li aiutò a predicare ciò che Gesù aveva insegnato, tanto che, alla fine, tutti
loro furono martirizzati dai propri governanti? Non li spaventava la perdita della vita.
Che cosa accadde a quelle persone così deboli di mente da renderle poi capaci di
sviluppare coraggio e forza? Che cosa le fece andare avanti senza paura e predicare gli
insegnamenti del Maestro, portandoli in ogni parte del mondo? Fu la fede. Quando
pensavano che il loro Maestro fosse soltanto un corpo, il suo corpo per loro era davvero
temporaneo perché questo era il livello della loro fede. Anche dopo che il Maestro non
fu più fisicamente presente, tornò da loro e diede uno scopo alle loro vite.
8.
Io vi ho insegnato tante cose in tutti questi anni, ed
è tempo per voi di praticarle, e praticarle senza paura,
perché nessun danno potrà esservi fatto avendo messo le
mie mani protettrici proprio sopra la vostra testa. Io sarò
con voi in ogni momento, ovunque. Non sentitevi soli o
deboli.
9.
È giunto il momento di rendere vostro il mio
messaggio, metterlo in pratica nella vita quotidiana e
diffondere GOIA ovunque andiate. Non sarà possibile
rimuovere le tenebre del mondo intero, ma se accenderete
la lampada dell'amore nel vostro cuore, ovunque andiate,
si diffonderà la Sua luce alle persone intorno a voi.
Ci saranno momenti molto gloriosi più avanti e ciò che sta
per accadere nel futuro e che potrete testimoniare nella
vostra vita è di gran lunga al di là di quanto sia mai
accaduto nella storia dell'umanità. Questo tempo
meraviglioso è davanti a noi. Siate preparati. Siate
fiduciosi. Avere fiducia in se stessi è motivazione
fondamentale; ciò che si deve fare è il sacrificio di sé;
l’auto-soddisfazione è ciò che si otterrà, per giungere,
infine, alla Realizzazione del Sé.
10. Domanda: Swami, Come possiamo servirti in ogni momento?
Swami: Chi sono io? Io non sono diverso da tutte le persone che sono intorno a te: la
tua famiglia, i tuoi amici, il tuo gruppo di devoti, le persone con le quali lavori, che
conosci, e anche quelli che non conosci. Io sono ciascuno di loro, Io sono anche te!
Servendo chiunque servirai me. Saluta tutti e quel saluto andrà a Dio e se ridicolizzerai
qualcuno, anche questa offesa arriverà a Dio. Io non sono diverso da tutti quelli che sono
seduti qui. Chiunque tu serva, sappi che stai servendo me. Chiunque aiuti, sappi che
aiuti me. Vedi me in ciascuno di voi e potrai vedermi ovunque. L’opportunità non verrà
in un giorno particolare o in un momento specifico. Ogni momento è un'occasione.
Coglila e usala bene.

Domanda: A volte mi chiedo quale sia il significato della vita. Ad esempio, quando vedo
un grosso animale che mangia un piccolo animale penso che la sofferenza non nasca
dalla nostra mente ma sia il crudele meccanismo col quale funziona il mondo.

Tutti combattono per sopravvivere, a vari livelli. Nel frattempo, inseguendo una vita di
spiritualità io mi sento in parte separato da questa logica di crudeltà e prevaricazione,
non mi sento di questo mondo.
Swami: Anche se un leone va a caccia, uccide soltanto un animale e si ciba con quel
tanto che possa riempirgli lo stomaco. Non teme per il proprio futuro e quindi non
uccide altre prede, non le accumula nella sua tana. Anche una mucca mangia soltanto
l'erba della quale ha bisogno. Non porta l'erba a casa e non costruisce un fienile per il
domani. Niente nella natura mangia o desidera più di quanto gli sia necessario oggi.
E' soltanto l'uomo che, per paura del futuro e per avidità, senza alcun bisogno, rompe la
legge di natura e, per sentirsi sicuro e a proprio agio, non disdegna di danneggiare gli
altri. Anche se l’uomo ha magazzini pieni di cereali, non è disposto a condividerli con gli
affamati. Anche se ha conti correnti bancari con tanti soldi, non ha cuore per condividere
un centesimo con nessun altro. Anche se a volte ha una posizione o ha forza, non si piega
verso il basso per servire i poveri e gli umili. Questo atteggiamento appartiene soltanto
all'uomo.
Non c'è crudeltà nella legge della natura. Se oggi siete umani, significa che siete stati
anche animali in un lontano passato e avete attraversato tutte queste fasi per essere
uomini oggi. Pertanto, rispetta il fatto che in questa esistenza sei nato come essere
umano, e vivi la tua vita nella condizione umana. Vivi la tua vita in modo che diventi
divina e non fermarti alla condizione di essere umano. Tutta la vita è un continuo
progresso. Ogni giorno, ogni momento noi dobbiamo progredire. Ciò che eravamo ieri,
non possiamo rimanere oggi. Ciò che siamo oggi, non dovremmo essere domani.
Dobbiamo continuamente salire verso la Divinità.
12. Domanda: Swami, questa mattina hai parlato dei grandi cambiamenti che stanno
avvenendo e delle tre fasi attraversate dal tuo insegnamento. Ce li puoi spiegare
nuovamente?
Swami: La mia scuola elementare l'avete frequentata quando sono arrivato come
Avatar in una Forma Fisica. Arrivava da me ogni tipo di devoto: alcuni erano interessati
a Dio, alcuni soltanto al mondo. Alcuni credevano che Dio esistesse, altri che Egli non
esistesse. Alcuni erano certi che Swami fosse Dio, altri non lo credevano, ma proprio
come i bambini che non conoscono la verità e che devono ancora essere educati, Io li
ammettevo tutti nella mia scuola elementare. Quella era Puttaparthi.

Poi, per tenerli tutti silenziosi in classe ed essere in grado di insegnare le lezioni che
impartivo, ho fatto tutti i tipi di miracoli, esibendomi anche in tante piccole
rappresentazioni per attirarli. Proprio come fa un insegnante di scuola elementare che,
oltre alla lezione, mette in scena anche cose da circo per avere l’attenzione dei bambini.
Ho detto che con il prossimo Avatar sarà come andare all’università. Se non avete fatto
bene il liceo, non vi sarà possibile entrare all'università. Non capirete niente e, come
molti altri studenti confusi, dovrete abbandonare gli studi. Come Avatar Prema Sai
parlerò con il linguaggio del silenzio e per capire quel linguaggio anche voi dovete
imparare a diventare silenziosi. Tutto il rumore della vostra mente e tutto ciò che è
chiacchiera egoistica devono essere rimossi e la mente va messa a tacere. Allora si sentirà
la mia voce sgorgare dal vostro cuore, perché Io parlo nella lingua del cuore. C'è un solo
linguaggio, il linguaggio del cuore. Per essere ammessi all'università, dovete fare il
vostro lavoro ora. Praticare l’amore disinteressato.

Domanda: Ho alcuni amici che soffrono di depressione e io non sono in grado di
aiutarli. Sono totalmente depressi e non credono in niente. La gente mi dice che io sono
sempre colmo di luce grazie al tuo aiuto. Anch’io a mia volta vorrei aiutare queste
persone e farle diventare come me.
Swami: “Che cosa ti ho dato? Non ho fatto un miracolo o ti ho dato cose che avevi perso
con lo scorrere degli anni: le tue relazioni, il tuo buon nome, i tuoi amici, il lavoro e il
tuo denaro. Non ho creato nulla e non ti ho dato nulla di nuovo. Ti ho dato soltanto la
speranza; la speranza che fosse possibile cambiare il tuo futuro; che siete tutti figli di
Dio e che Dio è con voi in ogni momento.
14. Domanda: Stavo riflettendo sul servizio disinteressato e l’aiuto ai bisognosi. A volte
capita che i poveri usino egoisticamente l'aiuto che si dà loro. Come è possibile aiutare
senza rischiare di essere usati?
Swami: Quando inizi qualsiasi servizio, ci sono due cose che devi sapere: la prima è se
quelli che servi meritano il tuo servizio; la seconda e più importante è se tu sei meritevole
di servire loro. Il più delle volte ci chiediamo se l'altra persona merita davvero il nostro
aiuto. Raramente ci interroghiamo in primo luogo se ”noi” meritiamo di aiutare “loro”.
Ciò che stai dicendo oggi è se loro meritano il tuo aiuto o no. Ciò che invece io ti chiedo
oggi è se tu meriti di servirli. Ogni servizio fatto anche con una minima aspettativa non
è disinteressato. Quando avete aiutato qualcuno perché il vostro cuore ve lo suggeriva,
non avreste dovuto guardare indietro per vedere ciò che era avvenuto grazie a
quell'aiuto. Una volta che l'aiuto è stato dato, non vi appartiene più e non c'è modo di
pretendere o giudicare ciò che è stato fatto con esso. Pertanto, prima ascoltate ciò che
dice il vostro cuore e poi fate servizio.

INTRODUCTION
In April 2015, Italy was truly and uniquely blessed by the Divine Visitation
of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba in the Subtle Form. In response to the prayers
of countless Italian devotees over many decades, the Lord finally submitted and
granted supreme joy, peace, and courage to all with His Divine Presence.
As per Bhagawan’s direction, Public Programs were organised in four
different cities from 16 to 20 April, 2015:
Torino – 16 April, 2015 – Morning Programme
Padova – 17 April, 2015 – Morning and Evening Programmes
Cisternino (Brindisi) – 18 April, 2015 – Evening Programme
and 19 April, 2015 – Morning Programme
Roma – 20 April, 2015 – Morning and Evening Programmes
Altogether, there were seven sessions attended by hundreds of people
from across the country and participants from overseas as well. All who
attended the Programs benefitted by listening to illuminating discourses from
Bhagawan’s highly accomplished entourage, including Sri Narasimha Murthy,
Mr. Isaac Tigrett, and Sri C. Sreenivas.
Finally, the much awaited Divine Discourses, which uplifted each person’s
consciousness and filled them with the pure nectar of Divine Love. In His
unlimited compassion, Swami also permitted questions from the audience at
each program. His answers to the queries not only soothed the agitated minds
and hearts of many a questioner, but proved to be universal in nature, and reveal
great mysteries of man and the Universe.
Among the places He visited, Swami also blessed with His Divine Presence
the shrine built in His name at Pascarosa (Cisternino). Years ago, He had
instructed a devotee to begin a small temple there for Him. During this visit,
Bhagawan said the temple would grow to become an important place of spiritual
power and pilgrimage for people from all over the world. He also said He would
visit the holy shrine every year in His Subtle Form, and even in future, in the
form of Prema Sai Baba.

This Booklet has been prepared at the command of Bhagawan Sri Sathya
Sai Baba and is a compilation of excerpts of His Divine Discourses granted in
Italy in April 2015. It is hoped that it will help readers relive the awe-inspiring
and blessed experience of being in the Divine Presence and, as per Swami’s wish,
put forth His message clearly and accurately to avoid confusion and
misinterpretation.
The complete transcripts of these discourses will be available in the series
of books containing Bhagawan Baba’s Divine Discourses in the Subtle Body, “Sri
Sathya Sai Uvacha”.
For those unfamiliar with the Subtle Form of Baba, it is well known that
Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba left His corporeal body on 24 April, 2011. The
passing of the Great Master months after His 85th Birthday came as a shock to
millions of His devotees all over the world, especially since He had said on more
than one occasion that He would continue His Mission till the age of 96.
Not long thereafter, Bhagawan Baba began revealing Himself in the
Sookshma Shareera, or Subtle Body. As He Himself explained, “Everyone in
this world has 4 types of bodies: Sthoola Shareera - the Physical Body;
Sookshma Shareera - the Subtle Body; Athi Sookshma Shareera - the Higher
Subtle Body; and Para Sookshma Shareera - the Omnipresent Super Subtle
Body. Sthoola Shareera is the physical body which anyone can see. Now, I am
not in the physical body, but in the Sookshma Shareera (Subtle Body) which is
beyond the physical. In My Sookshma Shareera I can move to any part of the
world without taking any time. In My Athi Sookshma Shareera I enter the
dreams and meditations of people and guide them. In the Para Sookshma
Shareera, I am present in every atom. At this point of time, you are in the
Physical body. If you are in a room, you cannot see what is outside, since there
is a wall in between. However, the Sookshma Shareera is not bound by desha,
kala and paristhiti (space, time and circumstances) and, therefore, cannot be
seen with the physical eyes.”
Since then, Bhagawan has been working tirelessly to continue His Divine
Mission, both in India and abroad.
It is our great and good fortune that Swami blessed the soil of Italy with
His Holy Presence. Despite the turmoil and uncertainties we see all around us,
the Lord has assured us that we only need follow Him, and the rest will take care
of itself.

TORINO:
16 April 2015
1.
The One who bears all names is the One who is the Embodiment of Peace. The One who
bears all forms is the Embodiment of truth. His true nature is sathyam (truth), shivam
(auspiciousness), sundaram (beauty). He is ever-present and He is the absolute truth.

God is ever-present. When our hearts are turned towards God, we perceive Him. When
our hearts are full of the world, we lose the vision of God. The sun that shines over India
is the same sun that shines over Italy, too. That sun and this sun are not different. It is
just a matter of the rotation of earth that makes the sun visible to these countries.

When one says that Sathya Sai Baba is the Embodiment of that Divine Principle, how
can He be different here and different there? How can they say that He does not exist
now and that He existed earlier? How can someone say that He had come and then He
left? There is no death to the eternal principle of Atma. How can there be death for an
Avatar? It is just the bodies that perish, not the Atma. It is as much true for Me as it is
for you, because we are all verily the same Embodiments of Atma.

The mind is the basis for this entire creation. It is the reason for one’s bondage or
liberation. Turn the mind towards God – you are liberated. Turn the mind towards the
world – you are bound. Like the door with the key – if you turn the key to the right, it
opens; to the left, it locks. The mind is the door. If you open it, you will see the truth on
the other side.

While in Puttaparthi, for those who did not believe there is God, I taught them that God
exists. Many amongst you who are seated here were so-called atheists. Many of you did
not believe in the existence of God. After coming in the proximity of Bhagawan, you
learned the truth that God exists.

However, you thought God exists outside as Sathya Sai Baba, or as Jesus Christ, or
Buddha, or as described in other religions. Now I am teaching you that God does not
exist outside, He exists within.

That is what Jesus Christ also preached. First He said, “I am the messenger of God.” He
thought God was different from Him. God existed in heaven and Jesus was on Earth to
preach the message. Then, while He was being crucified, Jesus declared, “I am the son
of God.” I am a part of God; God is a part of Me. Finally, once He renounced the body,
He realized that He and His Father were One. This is the way I am teaching you the
higher lessons and higher truths of life.

All I expect from My devotees is no more talking and discussing, but now you must act
to realise your Divinity. I am breaking this illusion that you can only see God by going
to a certain place at a certain point of time. God is there where you are; your very
existence is proof of God’s existence. However, knowing the truth and experiencing it
are two different things.

I always call you ‘Embodiments of Divinity’, ‘Embodiments of Truth’, and ‘Embodiments
of Love’, because I know you already are That. Just as you must open the door to see
what is outside, likewise, you must remove all that which is not God in you to see what
you really are.

God existed before Sathya Sai Baba came. God came in the form of Sathya Sai Baba. He
will come in many other forms, including your own Divine self. I will continue teaching
you the same truth. I am not the teacher who allows students to fail and leave the school.
Until you pass, you must study; again, and again, and again.
10. Question: I would like to ask You, Swami, if You could tell us something about the
spiritual changes that are happening during this period.
Swami: What you see outside is just a reflection of what you are inside. If you are
Divine, you will see everything as Divine. If you are human, you will see everything as
human.
A sick person is always angry with everyone. Because he is sad and angry, he receives
sadness and anger from others. The moment his sickness is cured, he becomes happy
and sees everyone as happy. Therefore, when you change yourself, the entire world is
going to change. It all starts from within.
I am now preaching that each one must realise their Divinity. In times to come, the
Divinity inside will start rising and many people around the world will preach the truth
that all are One. Those who cannot understand this truth will perish, just as some plants
perish when the seasons change.
Those who follow the path of dharma, will be protected by dharma. In every age, in every
time, there were some people who were good and others who were not. It has never
happened that the entire world was only full of goodness. Therefore, more and more
people will become better, become spiritual, and that is the Golden Age.
As is your vision, so will be the world outside. That which stops you from realising this
is your own ego. Through love and service, once you give up this ego, you will see the
entire world as Divine. The time has now come in the history of the world that many
spiritual people will start coming up.
We are in a period of transition. Just as day moves into night and night moves into day,
the dark night of the Kali Age is coming to an end. However, just as the night is the
darkest before the dawn, so there is so much evil at this point in time. Evil will destroy
itself as per the laws of Nature, and what will remain will be pure. If you are not prepared
for that age, you will not be able to survive there; just as when the seasons change,
certain plants don’t survive. Hence, prepare yourself by becoming more pure, more
selfless, and more Divine.
Love in action is dharma. Love in speech is truth. Love in understanding is peace. Love
in thought is non-violence. It’s just one love which has all the other things inside it.
Develop love, selfless love. Not ‘love myself’, ‘serve myself’; love all, serve all.

Question: Swami, I would like to know what to do to become an empty instrument so
love can flow through me.
Swami: No love remains as love, it expresses as service. The mind does not allow you
to share because it is afraid of losing something. Lose that fear. Once you have lost all
the fear because you have developed faith, My love will flow through you, unhindered.
12. Question: Swami, how can we help those people who didn’t have the good luck to meet
You? We feel in our heart that it is good that they should know about You.
Swami: What prevents people from wanting to know the truth is the fear that what they
already know is the truth and there is no more truth left. The moment one thinks he
knows everything, there is no scope for teaching him. Only one who is humble and has
an open mind can learn the truth. Therefore, those people who have an open mind and
are humble alone can understand this.
No one can come to Me unless I will it. Only those who are humble will be admitted into
My class. The first qualification is humility. All the trees that bear fruits are bent low.
Only trees that do not have fruits stand straight. If you have humility, you will learn.

Question: Bhagawan, what can we do to have more purity inside and strengthen our
connection with God?
Swami: Don’t ask Me for this or that. Ask Me for Myself, “I want Swami. I want Swami’s
love.” Whatever happens, wherever, whenever, have only this prayer. Once you know
the destination, you will know how to go. Therefore, fill your mind with namasmarana,
engage in acts of service, selfless love. With selfless love, you will always remain pure.
Pray only for Me and nothing else.

14. Question: We tried reading the Bhagawad-Gita to develop knowledge. If I remember
well, the 10th and 11th chapter of the Bhagavad Gita talk about masters. I would like to
know some teachings that will enable us to advance higher spiritually.
Swami: If you travel from Bangalore to Puttaparthi, on the way, you will see
Chikballapur. If Chikballapur does not come, it means you are not on the right road.
Likewise, when you travel towards God and you are growing spiritually, certain
destinations will come.
First, humility will come. Then, love for everyone will come. Then, a sense of sacrifice
will come, to sacrifice everything for others’ sake. The final destination is peace and bliss.
It starts with humility and ends with peace. Therefore, you must continuously ask
yourself whether these destinations are coming or not.
Self-confidence comes first, which is like the foundation. Self-sacrifice is the walls. Selfsatisfaction is the roof. That which resides inside is Self-realisation.
First, you will develop tremendous humility that comes to you with the faith that God is
the doer of everything. Self-confidence is confidence in your Divine Self. So, the first
destination is this confidence that will bring humility.
As you progress, you must check for yourself, whether these stations are coming or not.
If these destinations are not coming on the way, it means either the train is not moving
or you are on the wrong train.
15.
Question: Swami, can you give us some
guidance on how to develop good
character, because sometimes character is
an obstacle through our evolution and
allows us to develop ego. Perhaps
character has come from our past lives.
Swami: What you were is not important.
The past is past, forget the past. The
future is uncertain, so there is no point
worrying about the future. The present is
omnipresent. This present is here because
of your past, and because of this present,
your future will occur. So, the present was
born out of the past and will give birth to
the future. Therefore, the present is
omnipresent. Do not worry about what
happened or what will happen. Only what
is happening now should be your concern.
What is character? Doing the right thing
is character. In all circumstances,
however easy or difficult, always following
the right thing is character.

Man has been bestowed with two powers: viveka (discrimination) and vairagya
(detachment). When a situation comes, you must take a little time and think what is
right and what is not right; what is selfish and what is selfless; what will please Swami
and what will displease Swami. Like this, if you analyse and choose the right thing, that
is your character. However, that is only 50%. The other 50% is, after having chosen, you
must follow that. Knowing what to do and then doing it, together consists of character.
Initially, you may fall, but you must always get up and continue your journey. Don’t stop
till you reach your goal. Continuously practise this, and that will develop character. As
your character, so your destiny. Keep your thoughts, words and actions pure.
16. Question: The most beautiful thing in my life is meeting You. I lost my family very
early. When You arrived, I didn’t need anything else. Yet, since I met You, I have the
feeling that I’ve not done enough. I lost lots of time and am still losing time. I fear not
being able to take what You are giving me.
Swami: In our scriptures, they say three things are extremely important. If you receive
them, consider it as the Grace of God. First, is human birth; second is the desire for
liberation; third, the company of a Diving Being. You have got all the three. Be happy.
Put in the effort. The best service you can do is to become an example.
17.
Question: Swami knows that I believe in extra-terrestrial life. Even in an interview
once, You were talking to a lady about extra-terrestrial life. I would like to know if Swami
can say something more about it, because I want to know if it exists or not.
Swami: You all are born in a certain place between certain people, in a certain culture,
based on God’s will. Just as many countries exist, with many people and many cultures,
many beings in many planes exist. They have their own rules and regulations, their
culture, their habits. They have their own language, they have their own way of
communication. However, just as a second grade student need not worry about what is
in the tenth grade, you should concentrate on what is being taught now. Therefore, at
this point in time, having been born as a human, having learned these truths from
Swami, put them into practise and realise your Divinity. Do not spend your time and
energy on idle curiosity. That will not take you to your destination.
18. Question: Swami, could you explain to me the reason for diseases and why, in my case,
my legs continue to be not well and I am unable to walk?
Swami: The reason for diseases is different in different people. In some people, it is due
to physical hurt, like an accident or a fall, but for most of people, it is because of their
mental problems. If there is a physical cause for a physical disease, it can be cured in a
hospital. If, however, it is a mental problem, only through your mind can you cure it.
Live the day asking God what He would be pleased with and act accordingly. At the end
of the day, offer everything to God and go to sleep. If God finds you worthy, He will give
you another day to live. Every day you wake up, remind yourself that Swami still trusts
you. He is again giving you an opportunity to become closer to Him. Every night when
you sleep, thank Him for the opportunity given. That is the essence of life.

PADOVA:
17 April 2015 – Morning Session
1.
What is your duty? We are all born so that we should not be born again. Again and again,
we engage ourselves in different actions, we experience the results of these actions, and
it goes on and on. To avoid this cycle of death and birth, we must do our duty. If we
follow that duty we will attain God. Swami has come to preach about this duty.
2.
You have all come and studied in the Primary School in Puttaparthi. You have all
understood that God exists. Now, in this High School, you must understand that God is
within, not without. Furthermore, in the University of Prema Sai, you must know that
all are One. That is what Jesus preached, “All are one, my dear son. Be alike to everyone.”
3.
From dvaita (duality) – God is different, I am different; to vishishtadvaita (qualified
non- duality) – the understanding that I am a part of God; to advaita (non-duality) – all
are One; these are the three stages of our growth. That is why Swami has put it as, ‘I’ to
‘we’ and ‘we’ to ‘He’.
4.
For many, many years, devotees from Italy have been coming to Prasanthi Nilayam.
They have come especially to celebrate Christmas with Swami. They would bring
chocolates, decorations, and cakes. They organised all kinds of programmes and musical
performances. For what purpose was all this? To please Swami. The only purpose was
that Swami should be happy. If you always strive, not only during Christmas, but
throughout the year to make Swami happy, then you have really learnt your lesson.
5.
People are saying, “Swami has come from here; Swami has come from there.” Don’t
believe that. Where can Swami come from? He is already here. This morning, Swami
was telling the family here, “Do not think that I come from somewhere. Do not think it
is just a photo or just an empty chair.” If you truly believe that the chair is not empty, it
won’t be empty. If you truly believe that the photo is also Swami, He will listen to you.

If you truly believe that you must see Swami, you can see Him. First and foremost, you
must firmly believe. For a long time, the illusion has been there that you have to go to
Puttaparthi to see Swami. That was the lower truth. The truth is that you don’t have to
go anywhere. You can find Swami wherever you are. The very fact that you are breathing
and alive is because Swami is inside you.
6.
Wherever you chant the name, the form is also there. Wherever the form is present, the
name is also there. Have this tremendous faith that every time you chant the name, I am
listening. Every time you sing bhajan, I am coming to listen. Every time you serve Me
food, I am partaking it. Every time you put a chair for Me, I am sitting there. If you
develop this kind of faith, no one can shake it. Feel My presence everywhere, all the time.

It is very easy to love those who love you. However, the true test of love is being able to
love even those who do not love you. It is very easy to help those who help you, but the
true test of service is when you can help even those who harm you. That is why Jesus
Christ prayed to the Lord, “Forgive them, they do not know what they are doing.” See
the kind of love He had in his heart! He blessed even those who punished him. Such love
alone is real love, and such love, when transformed into service, is true service.
8.
Question: Swami, How can I feel You inside?
Swami: What is Swami? Is Swami the body? Is Swami the mind? He is not the body,
nor the mind. Swami is love. I said, “Love is My form. Truth is My breath. Bliss is My
food.” If you feel love inside your heart, that is Swami, and if you feel the same love for
everyone around you, then you will feel Swami. If there is faith, there is love. If you truly
believe that Swami is the One who is acting through everyone around you, then you will
love everyone around you.

9.
Question: First of all, Swami, thank You for everything You have done for me and my
family. I know You have followed me all along my path and in everything I’ve done.
Thank You for everything You have given me, and for saving my daughter’s life. Despite
all this, Swami, why am I still like a doubting Thomas?
Swami: You are not a doubting Thomas. Your mind is the doubting Thomas. It is the
mind which changes. If things happen which are favourable, you are happy and faith
grows. When things do not happen as you wish, then the faith wobbles. Sometimes, a
mother does not give the child what it asks for. She knows it is not good for the child.
The child, however, misunderstands that the mother does not love him. If you only have
devotion when everything happens according to your will, then that is not devotion.
10. Question: Swami, Why is the ego so strong?
Swami: From many, many births, you have been told that you are this body. Your greatgrandmother told your grandmother, your grandmother told your mother, and your
mother told you that you are this body. For ages, this untruth has been repeated so many
times that you started believing it is the truth. That is why it is difficult to get rid of this
ego, which arises out of the body. The ego comes when you think, “I am different.” This
‘I’ is related to the body. Bodies are different, but the soul is the same; just as bottles are
different, but water is one. It looks different because of the colour of the bottle.
One day, a person came to Swami and I told him, “You have a lot of ego.” He immediately
replied, “I have no ego!” The reply itself was full of ego. First, to know that you have ego
is, itself, great.

Question: In this path of purifying myself, I sometimes feel as though I am in a
wrestling match. I forget what it really means to be happy. You always remind us to be
happy. My question is, in this path of evolution, how can we remain happy?
Swami: Happiness is only in union with God. If you are always in touch with God, you
will always be happy. Think of God all the time and do everything for the love of God.
You will be happy.
12. Question: Can You help us with all the bad qualities we have?
Swami: I am always there to help. If you come to class with the intention of learning,
you can be taught. If you come with the feeling that you know everything and do not
need to learn anything, then no one can teach you. I am always there like a teacher, ready
to help the students.
13.
Question: After Your mahasamadhi, I had a ‘spiritual blackout’. I was not moving
forward nor backward. In that moment, did my soul evolve or stop evolving, even though
I felt this ‘spiritual blackout’?
Swami: Depending on My body as Me is ignorance. Like all other bodies, this body also
had to go. If you depend on the true Swami, who is with you all the time, you will never
feel lonely. Which Avatar has not come and gone? Nevertheless, His glory and love
continue to be. You must depend on that, not on the body. Just by wearing Swami’s
picture, you will not feel Swami. Only if you feel Him inside will you really experience
Him.

14. Question: I have made many mistakes in life, Swami. I would like some guidance from
You. Another question, why are Christians being persecuted so much during this time
in history?
Swami: Past is past; forget about your past. What you do with your present is more
important. A mistake is not a mistake if we learn from it and do not repeat it. So, learn
from your mistakes and do not repeat them. Who has not made a mistake here?
However, all have learnt and progressed. So, don’t live in the past. Move on.
It is not only in this age that there are persecutions. Those who do not understand the
spirit of religion always have conflict. It has been there earlier, it is there even now, and
it will be there in the future, too. Not only Christians, but people of all religions are
suffering. It is not because of religion. It is because of the misunderstanding of religion.
It is the feeling that one religion is superior to the other, that one God is superior to the
other. That is when these conflicts arise. All are equal. All are equal. Pray for world peace.
15.
Question: Swami, how can we love people who kill?
Swami: If you really love Me very much, you will be able to love everyone as well. What
did I say earlier? Jesus was crucified. He Himself prayed for the welfare of those who
did not understand Him. If you take revenge on those who hurt you, then what is the
difference between an ordinary person and My devotee? If Jesus would have cursed
people when he was being punished and crucified, then what would have been the
difference between an ordinary criminal and Jesus? Jesus was Jesus because He could
love people, despite the harm they did.

When you grow and evolve spiritually, you will feel the entire world is your family. In a
family, some children will be well-behaved, and some will not be. However, you don’t
throw away the children who are disobedient. You correct them and bring them back.
You cannot correct them by punishing them. If you really want them to be corrected
forever, you must love them.
16. Question: Hello, Swami. For many years, through an association that does not bear
Your name, we have been teaching human values to children. However, we are having
great difficulties. Are we taking the right direction? Please guide us.
Swami: The name is not important. Whether you eat with the right hand or the left
hand, food has to go into the stomach. Whether work is done with My name or without
My name, it does not affect the work. Remember, the path of dharma is not an easy one.
For many, many births, you have followed the dictates of the mind. Suddenly teaching
the mind to think of God is not easy.
17.
Question: I am probably asking a question that many people here want to ask, as they
have the same problem. Yesterday, I was in an assembly of the Sai Organization, and
they read a letter which was very critical of this team from Muddenahalli. I would like to
know how we should behave in these circumstances.
Swami: There were some people who always said, “Don’t believe in the Babas of India.”
However, when you decided to come and experience for yourself, you understood.
Hence, whatever good we can learn from whomever we can learn, we should be openminded. Just as no one can eat for you or sleep for you, no one can experience God for
you. You must find out for yourself.
When you came to Swami, did you not face the same situation at that time? People would
say all kinds of things. Ultimately, you have to find out for yourself. Being closedminded will not help you learn. Humility and an open mind are very important. If My
devotees do not learn this, who is going to learn? Devotees are not those who work for
an organization or a centre. This is not a school where a student is a student because he
has gotten admission. One who studies is a student. One who follows My teaching is My
devotee.

17 April 2015 – Evening Session
1.
In this world, everything is temporary. Name, fame, wealth, family, youth – all are
temporary. Only truth and the good name that you earn remain permanent. As time
passes, everything is going to change.
2.
In today’s world, the youth are very fond of remaining young forever. They engage in all
kinds of things to help them look young for long. They are always trying to look better
and more beautiful by decorating themselves and their bodies. However, whatever you
do, with time, this body will become old. No one can stop the wheel of time. What will
remain permanent, even after you age, is the good that you have done for others.
3.
What is sacrifice? All that is not Divine in you, you must sacrifice. When you say you are
a man or a woman, it is not the complete truth. “I am a man and not an animal.” That is
complete truth. The human body is a very precious gift. On the one side, it has animal
qualities. On the other side, it has Divine qualities. A man can slip to become an animal
or rise to become Divine. It depends on what you choose to become.
4.
God has given you two strengths – discrimination and detachment. Discriminate what
is good and what is not. Before doing anything, before saying anything, before thinking
anything, ask whether it is good or not. If it is good, do it. If it is not, do not do it.
Knowing whether something is good or not is viveka or discrimination, and having the
courage to give up what is not good is vairagya, or detachment. Therefore, think before
you speak or do anything. Ask Swami, who is within you. Close your eyes for a minute
and ask Me, “Swami, this is what I am feeling like doing. Are You going to be happy or
not?” If you honestly ask Me and have the courage to follow the answer that comes from
your heart, I will definitely respond. I am not somewhere far away. I am right in your
heart, and I will respond from your heart. If you practise this today, you will be able to
do it throughout your life.

The way you think, so will you become. Dust you think, dust you are. God you think, God
you are. Tell yourself all the time, “I am God. God is not anywhere. He is within me. He
will respond to whatever I ask.” Ask Him sincerely, and you will surely get an answer.
Don’t ask God only when you are in trouble. Had you asked God before, why would you
get into trouble in the first place? Therefore, talk to God, who is inside you, and believe
that it is possible to connect to your own Swami within. Seek His guidance at every step
of your life. Follow His words and reach Him. If you want to reach God, you have to
follow the footsteps of God.
6.
Question: Swami, we are all waiting for the Golden Age that You promised. What can
we do to prepare for it? Has the time come?
Swami: This external Golden Age is not what you should wait for. It is the
transformation within. One who is golden inside will see everything as golden. One who
is pure within will see everything as pure. A thief always thinks everyone else is a thief.
A saint always thinks everyone else is a saint. The Golden Age is not outside. Every time
a heart is transformed into Divine, it becomes golden. When more and more people are
transformed, the entire world will be full of happiness and peace.
As a youth, your prime duty is to become an example for others. By observing your
conduct and character, other youth will also transform. You don’t have to give speeches
from podiums. By doing what you are supposed to do, you can change the world. Hence,
transformation is within; the Golden Age is within. It is time now that more and more
of you should develop this Divine feeling.
7.
Question: Swami, I know You are the Truth, but why did You leave the body before the
age You declared you would do so?
Swami: Earlier, when I was young, I travelled all around and developed projects of
education, health and water. I spoke to thousands and thousands of people and guided
them on the path towards God. When I was young like you, and My body was strong, I
physically travelled to many places, met many people and guided them. When the body
became a little weak, I stayed in Prasanthi Nilayam, and from there, called people to Me,
spoke to them, and guided them. Finally, when the body became weaker, I could not
speak or do anything. I could only come for darshan and then return. At least that way,
I was able to serve people. Then the body became further weak. I was not even able to
come and give darshan. What is the use of such a body which cannot be of any use to
anyone? It is better to discard such a body. I have no attachment to the body. I am only
attached to My work.
The body only came to make you understand that God exists. You thought that God is in
Puttaparthi. You had to go to Puttaparthi to be with Swami. Now, when there is no body,
I am teaching you that I am within you. You don’t have to go anywhere to see Swami.
You can see Swami within you. Ultimately, you will realise that Swami is not different
from you. Swami is you. You are Swami. This is what I am teaching. That is why I gave
up the body. I will continue with this Energy Form for a few more years until the next
Avatar comes.
With the Physical Body, I came and gave darshan and did My work. Now, in the Subtle
Body, you can perceive Me through your mind. A pure and calm mind can see Me. That
is how you can reach Me now. In My Higher Subtle Body, I come into your dreams.

You don’t have to call Me. It is I who come; it is My wish. There is no physical Swami.
There is only Swami’s Higher Subtle Body. When I give up identification with the body
altogether, I am the Omnipresent God. That is the truth.
8.
Question: I have read a book on relationships, especially between couples, and I would
like to know how to behave in a relationship where one person wants to continue the
family relation, while the other doesn’t want it anymore.
Swami: Why people come into each other’s’ lives is not because of their choice today.
It is a runanubandham – there is a debt to be paid from many, many births. This
connection goes far beyond the present time. People come together because of their past.
However, the purpose of their coming together is to reach God.
9.
Question: How is it possible to become purer in thought, word, and deed?
Swami: What is purity? Selflessness is purity. The more selfless you become, the purer
you become. The only difference between man and God is desires. Desires make God’s
love impure.
If you can love everyone without any expectations, love for the sake of loving, then you
will become pure. Believe in the power of love. It will bring you all that you need, but it
may not get you what you want. Hence, if you can love selflessly, you will become purer.
10. Question: There are some people who feel that their beliefs are superior to others’
beliefs. How is it possible to convince such people that all beliefs are equal?

Swami: Truth and true knowledge is seeing the oneness of all. In oneness, how can
someone be greater and someone, lesser? All are equal. So, you should not listen to such
people. Why go by what is heard and what is said? Find out for yourself. Only one who
has experienced God will become God. Without having experienced, no one can define
God.
11.
Question: Swami, together with a friend, I created an association based on Your values
that also works in schools. I would like to have Your blessing and know what we can do
to improve.
Swami: Values are best taught by practicing. Once you practice, you derive joy, and the
joy will make you practice further. You practice and help others practice. Become kinder
to your own parents, more respectful to your own elders, more understanding of your
own peers, and more loving to your younger ones. You can practice these values.
Encourage practice.
12. Question: Today, in the world, there are many enlightened masters. Is it true that they
are only Your manifestations?
Swami: Yesterday, I said there is only one sun. In India, it is called ‘Indian sun’, in
Italian they may call it ‘Italian sun’, similarly in America, they may call it ‘American sun’,
but the sun is only one. It reflects in various pools of water. Just because you see many
reflections, it does not mean there are many suns. All are reflections of the same God.
All good is God.

1. I have always been saying,
“Love is My form.” I never said,
“Body is My form.” The love
within you is the proof of My
presence. There is no other
definition of God. The heart that
is full of love is Divine. The sun
reflects in pure and clear water.
Similarly, God reflects in a heart
free of all selfishness.
2. So far, you have experienced
My love. Now it is time for you to
pass it on to those who thirst for
it. Earlier, it was My body
through which I worked. Now, it
is through My devotees that I will
continue My work. Your bodies
are My body. Your hands are My
hands. Your feet are My feet.
Your vision is My vision. Your
heart is My heart. Truly, there is
no difference between you and
Me. Difference only exists in the
ignorance of the mind. Once the
mind vanishes, there is no
difference.
Just as you cannot see your reflection in the mirror if it is covered by a curtain, likewise,
you do not see your true Self because of the presence of the mind. The mind is nothing
but a bundle of desires. So long as there are desires, it is difficult to feel God. Therefore,
one by one, remove the threads, and the curtain will disappear. Remove, one by one, all
your selfish desires, and what will remain is selfless love, and then you can see your clear
reflection in the mirror of your heart, which is nothing but My own reflection. It is time
that My devotees rise to truly reflect the love that I have given them in their hearts and
share it with all those who do not have it.
3.
My mission is growing. It is only going to grow faster because I will use each one of you
as My own form. I said that I will multiply into many and will continue My work. It does
not mean that, in every street and every place, you will see Sai Baba. What I mean is, I
will work through each one of you. Each one of you will reflect Me. Each one of you will
become My form, and the world will know that Sai Baba has not gone anywhere. He is
there within each of His devotees and continues His work. It is time for us to change.
Start looking inside, not outside.

This place is definitely going to be an important spiritual centre in the future. It is not
because I decided it so. It is not because someone decided it so. It is only if your faith
meets My grace. The sun shines in the sky, but if the doors and windows are closed, the
house will remain dark. It is not the fault of the sun. Open the windows and doors and
bring the light inside. Open your mind, open your hearts, and receive My grace within.
Put every effort until you reach the goal, and do not stop unless you realise your true
Self, by loving and serving everyone as true reflections of Swami.
5.
I bless that this place will grow in the future into a great spiritual centre for the entire
country. It will grow into a very big ashram in times to come, and people from all around
the country will come here to seek spiritual solace. Just as an island gives relief to one
who is swimming in the ocean, likewise, this little place will become a spiritual refuge
for all those who are struggling in the worldly waters. Many, many more people will
come. Just as a river is joined by many other rivulets to become mighty, likewise, this
little stream will be joined by many more streams and will become a mighty river. With
great faith and devotion, you are looking after this place, and, as I said, where there is
love, there is devotion, I manifest there. Therefore, in times to come, it will grow into a
spiritual centre. Start working on building a bhajan temple here, and many rooms for
devotees to stay, to come together and have satsang and spiritual workshops. Within a
year, there will be significant progress. When Swami comes back next year, there will be
a hall here to receive Him, and not this tent. From that root, the tree and all the branches
will grow, and when I return as the next Physical Avatar, I will definitely make this My
home in Italy.
6.
In the dream (of a devotee who spoke earlier), not only did I say this is the place, but I
said this is the place I will come. Today is the beginning, and every year this will happen,
until I hand it over to the next Avatar. However, the next Avatar will not be an easy
Avatar like Me. He will be a very difficult teacher. He will not speak like Me. He will
teach in the language of silence. If you cannot understand and follow My words, how
will you understand and follow His silence? Therefore, even before the Avatar comes, I
am preparing you, so that when you are in His presence, you will understand what He is
saying in the language of silence.
7.
I need such devotees to continue My work. All the work depends on people like you.
Building hospitals and schools is not My mission. Transformation is My mission. The
Golden Age which is about to dawn will be brought about not by Me or any Avatar, but
by you. Just as the father retires and places the responsibility on his son’s shoulders, I
place this great responsibility of bringing peace and love upon you. Be strong! Be
courageous! Do not waver. Be firm! And carry on this responsibility. Follow My path and
I will follow you, wherever you are, and I will manifest in every step of your journey. I
will fill every cell of your being with My Divinity, and you will become moving temples
of God. By looking at you, people will look at Swami. By touching you, they will feel the
touch of Swami. By talking to you, they will feel they have spoken to Swami. By being
with you, they will feel they are in the presence of Swami. Such is the mighty
responsibility that I place in your hands today. Carry it with firm faith and conviction. I
will help you. My grace is there in abundance, just like the rain that pours torrents. But
how much you can collect depends on the size of the vessel. Don’t have petty minds and
petty hearts. Develop expansion love and capture as much rain as possible – from ‘I’ to
‘we’ and from ‘we’ to ‘He’. From selfish to selfless and from selfless to the real Self. I am
sure My devotees will not disappoint Me, just as I have never disappointed them. I place
great faith on you. Be worthy of this.

Question: Swami, how we are to behave in the Sai Centres You have created? As You
know, there are some difficulties at this moment in time. How should we behave?
Swami: I have always preached, do not follow the body; body is a water bubble. Do not
follow the mind; mind is a mad monkey. Follow the heart; heart is the seat of God. The
heart speaks the truth. You can reach God only through the heart, not through the mind.
What is the use if we gain the entire world and not our true Self? Once you gain your
true Self, what is the use of conquering the entire world?
All the organizations, all the institutions, all the Centres are for only one purpose – to
bring you closer to your true Self, which is Me. If it is helping you do that, then definitely
behave that way. If all these put together are not letting you go closer to your heart, but
only fill your heart with dry logic and suspicion, then better to walk alone and walk on
the right path. It is for one to decide for oneself, and the answer comes from within, not
from outside. Just as no one can eat for you, sleep for you or breathe for you, no one can
choose your path for you. You must choose for yourself. That is true spirituality.
9.
Question: What can we do for our youth, who are desperate, because there is no place
for them in society?
Swami: Youth are like mighty rivers. They will find their way. They have so much
energy that they can even break the stones and make their way. They only need direction.
However, if you give them direction by preaching to them or talking to them, it won’t
help. If you walk ahead on the right path, you can lead them. By standing here and telling
them to walk, they won’t go anywhere. Youth will learn only through personal example.
You set a personal example and you will be able to lead them to the right place. They are

young, they have the energy, and long life ahead. They will be able to find their way with
a little direction. So, lead them by your example. That is the best service you can do for
the youth. By mere speaking and advising, and not really following, you cannot help
much. With your experience of life, and your knowledge of good and bad, you can lead
them. The rest, they will look after themselves. But don’t give them things so easily that
they become lazy. Giving them things that make them lazy is not compassion. If you are
truly compassionate, show them the right path, so that even after you are long gone, they
will still follow the right path and reach their destination. Don’t think about their today.
Teach them what will help them tomorrow. Whether you exist or not, your direction
should help them continue their journey. Lead them by your own example. That is the
best seva you can do for the youth.
10. Question: Swami, what is the difference between spirituality and devotion?
Swami: Devotion is like the river. Spirituality is like the ocean. The ultimate destination
of devotion is spirituality. Just as all rivers flow into the ocean, all the devotion should
ultimately lead you to a spiritual life.
What is devotion? Doing everything for the love of God is devotion, whether you brush
your teeth, wear your clothes, eat your food, do your work, sing bhajans, or serve anyone
– if you do it with love, that is devotion. Otherwise, remains mere work. Even a bhajan
will remain but a song, if bereft of love for God. It will remain merely a glorious piece of
music, but it will not touch or transform you. Love for God in every act is devotion.
What is spirituality? It is the awareness of your true, Divine Self. It is the awareness that
nothing is different, everything is One. All the beings, all the people, all the objects –
everything is vibrant with Divinity.

To be able to live in this constant awareness of truth is spirituality. Whether you achieve
this state of Constant Integrated Awareness through devotion, which is bhakthi marga,
or you do it through constant meditation, which is jnana marga, or you do it through
constant service to others, by renouncing the fruits of all your actions, which is karma
marga, they all should ultimately lead you to this constant awareness of the truth. Just
as many rivers flow into the same ocean, likewise, whether karma, bhakthi, or jnana,
all these rivers should lead you to the ultimate destination – spirituality. Spirituality
knows no difference between these paths.
11.
Question: Swamiji, I can definitely feel Your love here today, but I am very concerned
about all the separations and divisions in the Sathya Sai family all around the world. In
Italy, there are lots of Sai devotees, lots of beautiful people who all love You and are
ready to give their lives to You. Unfortunately, we are unable to work together. So, I pray,
Swami, tell me, what can I do? What can we do? This life is of no use if we are not able
to find the way to say to our brothers and sisters that we love each other and accept each
other the way we are.
Swami: Today, there are millions of people around the world who believe in the
Divinity of Sathya Sai Baba. However, ask Sreenivas, Narasimha Murthy and Tigrett –
there were days when nobody believed Sathya Sai Baba was God, except for a handful.
There were people who even wrote and spoke against Swami. Even then, when devotees
came and asked Me, “Swami, you say all are Your people, then why are they not able to
understand and become one with all of us? Why do they write and speak against You?”
To them also, My answer was the same as what I am giving today.
Two brothers may fight over the food prepared by their mother. The one who is really
hungry will say the food is tasty. He will praise the mother for preparing such delicious
food. Whereas, the other brother may call it ordinary, just like any other day. The
difference of opinion arises not because of the quality of the food, but because of the
intensity of the hunger within. The same food is tasty to the one who is really hungry,
but may be tasteless to the one who is already full.
Just as the mother feeds the hungry child first, some devotees have come first. Others
will come later. Truly, it is just the battle between mind and heart. Every single battle
fought in the world is actually a battle between the mind and the heart. The mind, even
if it knows the truth, thinks about what others would think, and listens to others rather
than itself. However, the heart knows the truth, and even if others say otherwise, it still
believes in itself, and follows it. Follow the heart. Those who follow the heart will all
come together. I assure you that eventually, everyone will be united. Some reach the
finish line first, some reach it later. Everyone has to finish the race some day. Dropping
out is not an option in spirituality.
12. Question: What can we do to have more peace between countries? In Italy we have the
problem of immigration. Many people come in boats in desperate conditions.
Swami: If people come with good intentions, you must accept them with open arms. If
you can afford to feed a few more, you may also feed them. As long as they are deprived
and helpless, help should be extended. If, however, they take undue advantage of your
kindness, they should be not allowed.

As a citizen of the country, it is your duty to protect your country. If something is not
going to help your country, make every effort to stop it. However, if people need help
and they are deserving, the country and countrymen should provide for them. Even if
you allow more people inside the country, is the country capable of feeding them? If they
cannot be fed, they will become criminals. If they can’t earn by hard work, they will earn
through wrong ways. Therefore, either provide education and jobs for them, so that they
can earn and feed themselves, or find a way to stop them. Those who come with good
intentions to work and earn and look after themselves should be helped.
13.
Question: I feel very sad with all the killing in many countries. What can we do about
it?
Swami: In every age, in every time, there were always people who were good and not
so good. You cannot light up the entire world, but you can definitely light a lamp in your
heart, and make sure that people around you are kind and compassionate. For the others
whom you cannot reach directly, pray for their welfare with all sincerity. That is why we
have the prayer, ‘Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavanthu’. However, just because you
cannot help the entire world, it does not mean that you should do nothing about it. At
least the people within your reach, who are in touch with you – make sure they are full
of love and compassion. If everyone does their own little effort to bring about a change,
it will definitely happen.
A very beautiful time is coming. Just as the seasons change and some flowers fall and
others grow, likewise, in these changing times, evil will destroy itself by fighting, and
people who are dharmic will enter the next stage; just as in a school, those who did not
study will not pass and cannot be promoted. Put every effort to help as many to pass,
and pray for the rest.

1.
After you have grown up, you will be surprised at yourself that for silly toys, you ever
fought with others. When you see your children fighting, you laugh it off, saying they are
children, they do not know, therefore, they are fighting. The truth is – have we really
grown up? We must ask ourselves this question. From little toys like a bat or a ball, now
we are searching for bigger toys like a car and a home. From a few friends in school
whom we played with, we want to have bigger friends and bigger people in our lives. Just
as a boy is not happy with a small toy, and wants a bigger one all the time, we are
constantly trying to achieve happiness with bigger cars, bigger homes, and more wealth.
We struggle to achieve it day and night. Once we achieve it, we are happy for some time,
but then again we see other people having something better than us, and our struggle
begins to achieve that as well. There is no end to this greed.
In this eternal search for happiness, we are born and we die, and we are born again and
we die again. Again and again, this cycle of birth and death continues. The only way to
escape this constant cycle of birth and death is to know that all that is outside is merely
an illusion. True happiness or joy lies within.
2.
The disease that young people in modern times suffer from is not the disease of the body,
but of the mind. Just as an infection of the body leads to fever, rendering even the tastiest
of food tasteless, likewise, greed for things infects our mind, and the delicious name of
God is also rendered tasteless. Because of our many, many births of struggle for
happiness outside, we all are suffering from this infection of the mind, and unable to
experience the taste of the love which is in the heart.

Only when you take the right medicine, accompanied by the proper diet, can you get rid
of this infection and the disease. The medicine for this malady is remembering the name
of God – namasmarana, and the proper diet is Ceiling on Desires. If there has to be a
desire, let it not be for one’s own selfish means, but for a larger desire for the welfare of
all. When you chant, ‘Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavanthu’, you mean to say that all
the beings in all the worlds should be happy. If all the beings in all the worlds are happy,
then are you not a part of the same? Then you too will be happy.
3.
The problems in life are equal for everyone, but despite all of our problems, there is a
way you can still be happy. If you only think of your problems and ways to solve your
problems, you will never be able to solve them and be happy. However, even in those
moments of depression and despair, if you can think of others who are in pain and
suffering, and forget about your pain and suffering, and do something for them instead
of yourself, be assured that God will come and solve your problems. You help others and
God will help you.

Nowadays, everyone is asking Swami, “You promised there will be a Golden Age. When
is the Golden Age coming?” I always tell them, it will not come on a particular date on
the calendar. It will happen the moment your heart becomes golden. The moment your
vision changes, the whole world will change around you.
5.
Narasimha Murthy told the story of Duryodhana. Duryodhana knew what was right, but
did not have the will-power to follow it. He knew what was wrong, but did not have the
will-power to give it up. Therefore, he not only brought doom upon himself, but also to
his entire clan.
6.
Where is God? Is God in Puttaparthi? Or in Muddenahalli? Or in a church? Or in a
temple? No, no. You keep searching like this, just like the deer searches for the fragrance
outside, or a thirsty man looks for water in the desert. You will not find Him outside.
You will find Him within. He is you. You are not different from Him. We are all
participating in a fancy dress competition, and we have put on this make-up of being
Italian, Indian, American or British. Once the show is over, and you discard your
costumes and remove your make-up, you will realise that inside, all are one. The body is
just a costume. The mind is the make-up. However, the heart is the real person. Do not
be deluded by these external appearances and develop diversity where there is none. A
man with love in his heart will see unity in diversity, and not diversity in unity. If you
truly love Swami, then love Swami who is there in each person out there, around you.
There is no point in loving a Swami who resided in Puttaparthi, going and doing service
tirelessly in Puttaparthi, and not being able to serve people outside of Puttaparthi.
7.
Soldiers, before they are sent to battle, are given training in their own town. Puttaparthi
was a training ground for all of you, where Swami taught you to fight your own negativity
with the weapons of love and service, and to look for Swami, not outside, but inside each
one of you. Since it was a practice ground, you were protected and it was easy, but today
you are in the real world. The battle is on. Whatever you have learnt, put it into practice
now. Let all the effort that Swami put to train you not go in vain.

A teacher is truly happy when he sees the students learn and practice. One becomes a
student not merely by getting admission in a class, but by learning and practicing what
the Guru has taught. Swami has come to dispel the darkness of ignorance, that all are
different. If you consider Swami as your Guru, then learn that all are truly One. That is
what Jesus said, “All are One, my dear son. Be alike to everyone.” To realise this, you
must discard the costume of selfishness, remove the make-up of attachments, and
realise that you are not Italians or Indians or Americans, but truly, the embodiments of
Swami, Himself.
9.
In this world, where most of the people are on the path of adharma (unrighteousness),
it is very easy to become adharmic and join the many who are marching towards their
doom. It is very difficult and requires courage to walk alone on the path of truth. Do not
think that if everyone follows something, it is right. Even if a thousand people declare
an untruth to be truth, it cannot become the truth. If no one calls the truth as truth, still
it cannot become untruth. Therefore, believe in this truth which I am telling you, that
you are not weak. You are not poor. You are not alone. You are strong. You have this
wealth of love. You are always with Swami, and Swami is with you. If you truly believe
in these words, take them to heart, and put them into practice every moment of your life,
I assure you that the Golden Age is right here and right now. You are the Golden Age.
10. I depend on My people to take My message forward into the world, not by giving
speeches from platforms, or having discussions in big forums, but by simply, silently
practicing what I have taught. Action speaks louder than words, and in your acts, people
will see Me; in your words, they will hear Me; in your touch, they will feel Me, for you
truly will become Myself. That is what I expect from My youth. You have a long life
ahead. You can still correct yourself. There is still time to walk on the right path. There
is still time to mend your ways and achieve what you truly are. For those who follow Me,
I follow them everywhere. Even your shadow may give you up in times of darkness, but
Swami, who is inside you, is always with you, whether it is dark or bright outside. Take
this Swami with you everywhere. Live in accordance with Swami’s principles, and I
assure you your life will always be full of bliss. Your mere presence will give bliss to
others. A thousand lit lamps cannot match the brilliance of the sun. They cannot bring
about the light or warmth that the sun can bring. Therefore, become that sun, and spread
this light of love, compassion, and service in the world. That is the true tribute to all that
Swami said and did for all of you.
11.
Now Swami does not have a body. Your bodies are His body. Your hands are His hands.
Your speech is His speech. Your acts are His acts. Become pure, free of all selfishness
and attachments, have courage, and believe that what you need, wherever you need,
how-much-ever you need, Swami will provide, and think about others and not yourself.
For long, you have been thinking you are humans. Give up that illusion. You are Divine.
12. Question: Although I am a member of the Sathya Sai Organisation, I am now a
hundred times happier to be here. The Directors of the Prasanthi Council and the
European Council have sent us letters in which there are words of Swami in which You
have advised devotees that You don’t use mediums. When these Directors knew that we
were coming here, with all the love for our Divine Master, they told us that we would be
excommunicated, and they wanted us to resign from our positions. I remember that in
the past, Swami affirmed to remain in the Organisation that You created, whatever the
cost. I have followed the command of Baba. I will not go away. One hundred times with
more pleasure, I am united with these brothers. I hope that tomorrow, all the devotees

of Bhagawan will be united, because Baba’s message is always that of unity. If they put
me to difficulty in this sense, I will say to them that the act of separation, you will do it,
I will not do it. I will always stay with you.
With humility, I ask Swami, what do we have to answer to these people who continuously
say that Baba affirmed while He was in the body that He didn’t have any mediums?
Swami: Swami has appeared to many
people all around the world. There are many
here who have not even visited Puttaparthi,
but they have seen, met, or heard of people
to whom Swami appeared or gave messages,
or guided to do what they needed to. Swami
has always had His own instruments and His
own ways. Now also, it is the same thing.
Those who see diversity, the truth is that they
are afraid. It is the fear of sharing what you
have with the others that makes you say that
others are different from you, so that you
don’t have to give away what you already
have.
Christ does not belong to the Church. It is the
Church that belongs to Christ. If the Church
helps you reach Christ, then by all means, be
in the Church. But if the Church is not letting
you reach the true Self, which is Christ, then
you should have the courage to walk alone
and find your way.
Picking up things conveniently and leaving what is not convenient is not the truth.
Everything should be seen in the light of truth. The mind is very tricky. It chooses to
speak the convenient truth, and avoids the inconvenient truth. It presents the picture it
wants you to see. It tells you what you want to hear. The heart, however, tells the truth,
and shows the picture of what is real. Therefore, no one can take you towards God or
away from God. It is only your heart that knows the truth and tells the truth. Follow your
heart and discover for yourself.
13.
Question: I am unable to speak when there are more than two or three persons in a
room. Many times, I had the fear of waking up and believing all this was a dream. I don’t
think I am in the kindergarten stage, but even before kindergarten! Please, Swami, help
me to understand the balance between self-confidence, which I don’t have – thinking
that I am of no use – and the ego.
Swami: Nobody is useless, whom I have created. Even a blade of grass, which might
seem insignificant, feeds and shelters beings, insects. When you are a human, the crest
jewel of all creation, how can you be useless? The very fact that I am still giving you
another day to live tells you about the faith and trust that I have in you. It is that that
you must believe in. You are alive - that is proof that Swami still believes that you will be
of service to others. Dust you think, dust you are. God you think, God you are. Therefore,
it just depends on how you think.

ROMA:
20 April 2015 – Morning Session
1.
I have always been saying, and I continue to say that the body is a water bubble. It comes
and goes away in no time. So long as it remains a bubble, it is different from the waters
from which it has emerged. As long as this bubble exists, all the reflections exist on the
bubble, making you believe it is all true, which it is not. Only when the bubble bursts
and merges back into the ocean, will all the reflections disappear, and will it become one
with the ocean. As long as you have attachment to your body, and believe the body to be
the ultimate truth, you will always stay separate from your real identity. Do not follow
the body.
2.
The mind is a mad monkey. It does not think of the past. It does not think of the future.
It is only busy with its life today. It is happy if its stomach is filled now. It does not care
for others. Have you ever seen a group of monkeys fighting? For the sake of food? For
the sake of territory? For the sake of family? You will understand what I say. The mind
is much more than a mad monkey. Do not follow the mind. Follow the heart.
The heart is the seat of God; that is where Sai resides. In the word ‘Sai’, there are three
letters: ‘S’, ‘A’, and ‘I’ – See Always Inside. You have to find what is hidden in the place
where it is hidden. If you look for it outside, you won’t find it. It is only in the inside of
your heart that I reside. Therefore, look for Me inside you.

First I came as a form so that you could be with Me, see Me, hear Me, and experience
Me just as I was, without much effort. Then I rose, so that you may rise with Me, and
feel Me in your heart as an indestructible source of joy, an eternal source of peace, and
an unlimited source of bliss. I shall rise still higher and will make you also come up with
Me to finally understand that you and I are One.
4.
Even Jesus Christ first said, “I am the messenger of God.” He felt God was different and
He was different. That is what you felt when I was in the body. Then He said, “I am the
son of God.” It means He felt that He was a part of His Father. He was not different from
His Father. It is only the question of quantity. Quality is just the same. In a big crystal of
sugar, the quality of sweetness is the same, just as in a small particle of sugar. The
quantity is different. That is advaita bhavam, the feeling of Oneness. That is what you
must experience now.
5.
In the form that I was in, I taught those who did not believe in the existence of God, that
God exists. He is love, He is compassion, and you should develop love for God. Now, in
this form, I am teaching you that God is not anywhere outside. He is right within you,
and with your intensity of love, you can experience Him within. As I take you higher, I
will teach you that God is neither outside, nor is He inside, but you are God. He is you.
Not only you, everyone is God.
6.
If you want to go from the ground floor to the second floor, you have to go through the
first floor. You cannot go directly from the ground floor to the second floor. So, there are
three floors. The ground floor is – God exists. Have belief, have faith in His love, His
compassion. He is the source of all peace and all joy. Once you reach there, you see the
stairs going up to the first floor, where you feel, “I am a part of God. I am not different.”
Again, you see some stairs going up, and if you climb, step-by-step, you finally realise
that you and God are One. This is what I am trying to do. All that which is not Divine,
step-by-step, give it up.
7.
You all say, “Make me Divine. Make me Divine. Make me like You. Make me like You.”
When I start taking away all that is not Me in you, you cry in pain, “I don’t want to give
this up! I don’t want to give this up!” You cannot be on the earth and also be in the sky.
If you want to fly in the sky, you have to rise above the earth. You cannot be human and
also be Divine. You have to give up selfishness and then rise above to become Divine. A
pot can have either air or water. If there is water, there is no air. If there is air, there is
no water. If there is ‘I’, there is no Sai. If there is Sai, there is no ‘I’. The less of ‘I’, the
more of Sai. The more of ‘I’, the less of Sai. The journey is: ‘I’ to ‘we’ and ‘we’ to ‘He’;
from your individuality to society, and from society to Divinity. These are the three steps.
How much ever we discuss, how much we hear or explain, you are not going to
understand it. Unless you practice even a bit of what is being taught, you will not
understand anything.
8.
It is now time for My devotees to practice all that I have taught. Even if you fail a few
times, don’t give up. Giving up is not the quality of My devotee, for it is not My quality
to give up. You must also follow in My footsteps, and become an ideal example for all
those who were not as fortunate to experience Me earlier. They will come looking for
succour, peace and solace. They will not find Me, but they will find you, and in you, they
will find Me. Your lives must become My message. Live every moment in a Divine way
and prove My words, ‘Embodiments of Divinity’, true, to the entire world. Prove to them
that your Master did not speak untruth.

When He said you are Embodiments of Divinity, He spoke the Supreme Truth. Now, by
conducting yourself in a way that proves this statement of Mine, you will really bring
glory to yourself, to your country, and to Me. I bless that each one of you will take My
words to your heart, understand what Swami is saying, and put it into practice. However
difficult it might be, don’t give up, for giving up is not My quality, and it should not be
the quality of My devotees. We should strive until we achieve success. My blessings are
in abundance.
9.
Question: Swami, how can we abandon our identification with the body and think of
You all the time?
Swami: If you think the body is yours, there is no problem. You have to use this body
to reach God, so the body must be taken care of, just like your car. Therefore, the body
must be respected and taken care of, as long as you understand that it is only a vehicle
to reach God. However, if you are so possessed with body consciousness that you think
the body is your real self, that there is nothing beyond the body, then it is body
attachment, which is not correct. The only way to get rid of it is, first and foremost, think
that the body is only an instrument given to you to achieve God. How do you attain God
through this body? By using this body to serve others. Bend the body; mend the mind.
Unless your hands are engaged in service, your mind cannot be purified. Therefore, the
body is an instrument. Give it only that much respect; not more, not less.
Many people think body is an obstruction in their realisation, and they torture their
bodies in various ways. Instead, if you use this body for the service of others, you will
not develop attachment.
10. Question: Beloved Swami, often I notice that we don’t give much attention to disabled
people. I think that when we serve disabled people, we must not only take them into our
hands and help them, whenever possible, but also help them to be integrated into the
community, for example, their family.

Swami: All My life, while in the body, I served many people through various projects. I
continue to do so through My instruments here. One day, a boy asked Me, “Swami, You
have done enough. You have struggled so much to help so many people. At least now,
You can take rest.” I told him, “It is not in Me to take rest when I see others suffering,
because I don’t consider them as others. They are a part of Me, and just as any part of
My body suffers, the whole body suffers.” A small pain in the tooth will not allow you to
sleep. You don’t break your tooth and throw it away just because it hurts. You treat it.
Likewise, when you meet the needy and the poor, don’t discard them as unfortunate and
unwanted. They are like the part of the body which needs more attention.
If you really feel oneness of the entire creation, no one needs to give you a rulebook of
how to help. Your heart will know what to do.
11.
Question: Sai Ram, Bhagawan. You said that You will stay in the Subtle Body for six
more years. Can you say something to us about your future incarnation as Prema Sai?
Swami: Prema Sai is not an easy Avatar. I am a very lenient teacher. I pass everybody.
Even if you write a letter, I give ‘grace-marks’ and help you pass. Prema Sai will be like
a professor. In the university, you have to do your own homework. Nobody will come to
teach you. You have to teach yourself. Only when you have some doubts or questions
can you ask the professor. Sathya Sai spoke a lot. Not only spoke, but did all kinds of
things to keep your attention in the class. I had to perform many miracles to keep your
attention, just as a primary school teacher sometimes sings a song, tells a story, or
dances along to keep the students still. With Prema Sai, however, unless you have done
your homework and come, you are not going to understand Him. He will be a silent
master. He will speak from heart to heart. That is the best language. Words contaminate
thought. Pure thought is communicated in the heart. It doesn’t come through the mouth.
Unless your heart is tuned to receive that signal, you will understand nothing.
I am such a poor teacher! I leave the answer paper here, so that you can practice and you
are sure to pass. Now it only lies in your hands to put in the effort. I have done My part.
You do your part.
12. Question: Sometimes, due to our ego or sense of justice, we ruin a relation we have
with a person we love, and roads separate themselves. Later, through Your words, we
arrive at a point of repentance, due to the wrong actions we recognize we committed.
However, even if we have a sense of forgiveness or peace with whom we stopped the
relation, sometimes the person doesn’t reciprocate respect or forgiveness, which leads
to a great sense of guilt. How can we help ourselves to overcome this sense of guilt? To
feel that we have not offended ourselves, the other person, or Your teachings?
Swami: Ego is the root cause of all evil. If you have realised that you have made a
mistake, you are already 50% there. Many people don’t even realise that it is their
mistake and, because of their ego, all their lives, they keep blaming others for their
mistake. If you have realised that it was your mistake, you have already won the battle.
That itself will make you more peaceful. However, just realising this is in itself not
enough. You must every effort to correct your actions. Love is the master-key that can
open any heart. Pray, pray, pray. Pray to God to help you. Pray to God to give you that
love, both in quality and quantity.

Question: Swami, we are passing through difficult moments for our nation and the
planet. Today, Swami has come and blessed Italy with His Presence. However, we are
worried about the future of our country. In this spiritual change that is happening, what
is the role of Italy?
Swami: For a long time, Italy has been driven by greed for material wealth. Just as by
eating too much and at the wrong times, you develop stomach pains, and the only way
to cure it is by not eating for some time, the greed that drove Italy to this state can be
undone only by abstaining from further acquisition, and learning the virtue of
contentment. This is the land of God. This is the land of saints. All of them have not gone
anywhere. They are all right here, protecting you, to tell you the truth. It could have been
worse. If Italy has still not broken into pieces, it is because of the blessings of great saints.
Do not worry. Italy’s future is safe, but the future is not the way you expect it to be.
Progress is not outside. It is inside. Only because of this pain that Italy is going through,
which is nothing but the result of excessive greed, to fulfil which, many have taken to
adharmic (unrighteous) paths, that the only solution is for people to become more
spiritual, and understand that progress is not outside, but inside. When each one of you
light this lamp of love in your hearts and take it with you wherever you go, and light
many more lamps with this lamp, the darkness of Italy will disappear.
If you develop spiritual strength, the day is not far when all of Italy will be full of
happiness. Teach your children this. After every summer there is a winter, followed by a
spring, and summer again. This is the changing cycle of the world. Every time people go
on the path of adharma, they suffer because of their own acts, and that is when they
look towards God. Then they grow spiritually and find the solution to all their problems.
This land is not going to perish. Those who don’t belong to the spirit of this land – they
will be extinguished. Those who are dharmic and spiritual will continue to flourish.

ROMA:
20 April 2015 – Evening Session
1.
Everything in this world is temporary. The wealth that you earn, the people that you
make relationships with, and youth is also temporary. These are all passing clouds. The
only things that remain ever-permanent are the truth with which you live and the good
name that you earn.
2.
In this present, modern age, everyone wants to be immortal, to be remembered forever
and to be loved by everyone. However, they do not know how to achieve it. They think
that by earning a lot of wealth, they can became rich and famous and will be remembered
forever. Or, by acquiring many powers and positions of authority, they can rule the
nation, and will be remembered forever. Or, they think that by having family and
children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they will be remembered forever.
Yet, none if this is true.
3.
Only good name and truth prevail forever. Everything else which seems to be
permanent, in a true sense, is only temporary. It is momentary, and the very next
moment, it disappears. When the objects outside, in the external world, are so
temporary, how can you derive permanent joy from them?
The secret is in the letters of the word, “Joy” – ‘J’ for ‘Jesus first’, ‘O’ for ‘Others next’,
‘Y’ for ‘Yourself last’. J, O, Y – Jesus first, others next, yourself last. This is the main
foundation to achieve permanent joy. If you place God first in your life and whatever you
do, you do it for the love of God, you will be able to find joy. If you think of others first,
before yourself, and do everything which will benefit others, rather than yourself, you
will find joy. If you can place yourself last on the list, and give priority to others’ needs
over yours, you will find joy.

Once you achieve faith in God, you should not lose it at any cost. Asking God to prove
His Divinity at every step is not the quality of a good devotee. Once you have given your
heart to God, do not ask for it back. Once given, it is given. God will take care of the rest.
5.
Be it Sreenivas or Tigrett, they all dedicated their lives to Swami. And what did Swami
use their lives for? Not for Himself; not for them; but for others. Soon after I left the
body, they were very sad. They were feeling very lost. They did not know what to do with
their lives, because they did not know how to live life without Swami. There was no
meaning to their lives without Swami. They knew they were just ‘zeroes’. Swami was
their ‘Hero’. Swami was the one who stood in front of the ‘zeroes’ and gave value to their
lives. However, to keep My promise, I visited them again in this way and gave them
directions to continue My mission of serving society, serving the poor and needy, serving
everyone who needs help, irrespective of caste, creed, religion or nation.
You are all young people, just as they were then. You have a long life ahead. Your station
comes very late. Others have to get down on the way. You have so much time with you.
Make best use of every minute and make your lives worth living.
6.
Never feel that you are weak. You are the Children of Immortality. You are the Children
of God. You are made in My image. You are no less than Me. Do not think you are weak
and alone. Swami is there with you, every moment. Develop that tremendous faith, live
your lives with that faith, and see the miracles happen; so many miracles, every moment
of your life. The world will watch you grow into spiritual giants, and they will see My
reflection in you – a thousand reflections – just as one sun reflects in thousands of
bodies of water, equally bright and powerful. The world will know Me because of you.
7.
When Jesus was alive and there were many enemies, out of fear of their own lives, the
so-called disciples abandoned him. Then what gave them the strength to come back and
preach about Him? What made them so fearless? What made them withstand all the evil
and go on preaching what Jesus taught, so much so, that in the end, all of them were
killed by the rulers?

Loss of life did not scare them. What made those weak-minded people develop so much
courage and strength? What made them go fearlessly and preach the teachings of the
Master, and take Him to every part of the world? It is faith. When they thought their
Master was just a body, the body was temporary, and so was their faith. However, even
after the Master was physically no more, He came back to them, and He gave purpose to
their lives.
8.
I have taught you so many things all these years; it is time now for you to practice, and
practice fearlessly, for no harm can come to you with My protective hands right on top
of you. I will be there with you at every moment, everywhere. Never feel alone or weak.
9. It is time now for you all to pick up My message, put
it into practice in your daily lives, and spread JOY
wherever you go. It is not possible to remove the
darkness of the entire world, but if you light the lamp
of love within your heart, wherever you go, you will
spread this light of love to people around you.
There are very glorious times ahead, and what is going
to unfold in the future, which you will see in your own
lifetime, is far beyond what has ever happened in the
history of mankind. Such a wonderful time is ahead. Be
prepared. Be confident. Self-confidence is the
fundamental basis. Self-sacrifice is what you need to
do. Self-satisfaction is what you will gain. Finally, it will
lead to Self-Realisation.
10. Question: Swami, how can we serve You in every
moment?
Swami: Who am I? I am not different from all the
people around you – your family, your friends, your
group of devotees, people whom you work with, people
whom you know, and even those whom you do not
know. I am each and every one of them. I am you, too!
Serve anyone and you will serve Me. Salute anyone and
it goes to God, and if you ridicule anyone, that also goes
to God. I am not different from all of you sitting here.
Whomever you serve, you serve Me. Whomever you help, you help Me. See Me in each
one of you, and you will experience Me everywhere. You are already Divine. Through
service, get rid of your humanness and develop Divinity. You already are Divine. There
is an opportunity to serve every moment. It depends on you to grab it and use it well.
11.
Question: Sometimes, I ask myself, what is the meaning of life? For example, a big
animal eats a little animal. So, suffering is not only something of our mind, but only a
mechanism by which this world functions. Everyone fights to survive at various levels.
Meanwhile, I follow spirituality and feel apart from this logic of cruelty and
prevarication, and I feel not of this world.

Swami: Even if a lion hunts, it only kills one animal, only so much that it eats and will
fill its stomach. Out of fear for the future, it does not simply kill many more and store
them in its den. Even a cow eats only as much grass as it needs. It doesn’t carry the grass
home and stock it up for tomorrow. Nothing in Nature eats or takes more than what is
needed today.
It is only man who, out of fear for the future, and out of greed and not just need, breaks
the Law of Nature and, to make himself comfortable, does not mind harming others.
Even if he has stores full of grains, he is not ready to share it with the hungry. Even if he
has accounts full of money, he does not have a heart to share a penny with anyone. Even
if he is strong in position or strength, he does not bend down to serve the poor and the
meek. It is the problem with man alone.
There is no cruelty in the Law of Nature. If you are human today, know that you have
been an animal at some earlier time, and you have crossed all these stages to be a human
today. Therefore, respect the fact that you are born as a human now, and live your life
as per human nature. Live your life so that you become Divine, and not remain just a
human. All life is progress. Every day we must progress. Every moment we must
progress. What we were yesterday, we cannot remain today. What we are today, we
should not be tomorrow. We should continually grow towards Divinity.
12. Question: Swami, this morning you spoke of the moment we are approaching and the
three phases of Your teaching. Can you please explain this further?
Swami: Primary school was when I came as a physical Avatar. All kinds of devotees
came to Me – some interested in God, some interested in the world; some believing God
exists, some believing He does not exist; some believing Swami is God, some believing
Swami is not; but just like little children who don’t know the truth, who are yet to be
educated, everyone was admitted into My primary school. That was Puttaparthi.
Then, to keep them all silent in the class and learn the lessons I was teaching, I
performed all kinds of miracles and did all sorts of things that would attract them, just
like a primary school teacher who, apart from teaching lessons, puts on a circus to keep
the children attracted.

I said that the next Avatar is going to be like a university. Unless you have done well in
high school, you cannot enter the university. You will not understand anything, and like
many other confused students, you will also drop out of the university. As Avatar of
Prema Sai, I will speak in the language of silence, but to understand that language, you
also have to learn to become silent. All the noise of your mind, all that selfish chatter has
to be removed from your mind; it has to be silenced. Then you will hear My voice in your
heart, for will I speak in the language of the heart. There is only one language, the
language of the heart. To become eligible to enter the university, you must do your
homework now. Practice selfless love.

Question: I have some friends who are suffering from depression. I am unable to help
them because they are totally depressed and they don’t believe in anything. People tell
me I am always shining, thanks to Your help. I want to help these people be like me.
Swami: What did I give you? I did not perform a miracle and give you things that you
had lost in your life – your relationships, your good name, your friends, your work, or
your money. I did not create anything and give it back to you. I only gave you hope; hope
that it is possible to change your future; that you are all children of God, and that God is
with you every moment.
14. Question: I was reflecting on selfless service, on helping the needy. Sometimes it
happens that poor people take advantage of the help you give them. How is it possible
to help someone without the risk of being used?
Swami: When you do any service, there are two things that you must know: one,
whether whom you want to serve deserves your service; and second, more importantly,
whether you deserve to serve them. Most of the time we ask whether the other person
truly deserves our help. Rarely do we question ourselves whether we deserve to help
them, in the first place. What you talk about today is whether they deserve your help or
not. However, what I ask you today is whether you deserve to serve at all. Any service
done with any expectation is not selfless. Once you have helped someone, because your
heart told you so, don’t even turn back and see what they have done with it. Once it is
given away, it is no more yours and there is no way you can claim it or judge what was
done with it. However, listen to what your heart says and then serve.
