From stakeholder management to communications to human resources
management, elements of change management appear throughout the PMBOK and
other PMI’s foundational standards but are not explicitly identified as “change
management”. In 2013, the PMI has published “Managing Change in
Organizations: a Practice Guide”. This guide contains all the hard skills required
to manage organizational change in an intelligent way. The first part of the
presentation is dedicated to this PMI Practice Guide.
The success of organizational changes also depends on people engagement. This
is the healthy part of change management. Some approaches rise resistance to
change while other encourage people to commit to change. The second part of the
presentation is about how to engage people in change.
