26th Sunday in Ordinary Time – C Reflection
What most absorbs your time, your attention, and
your heart? In today’s Gospel we have the parable
of the rich man who refused to help the beggar
Lazarus. Jesus illustrates a scene of contrasts riches and poverty, compassion and indifference,
inclusion and exclusion. Thus, He calls us today to
be at the service of the poor for they too are the
children of God.
Canadian Bishops’ Collection
The annual Bishops’ Collection for the needs of
the church in Canada will be held this weekend
Sept. 24 & 25. These funds will be used by the
Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops to
represent Canadian Catholics in national and
international pastoral activity. Please take an
envelope at the church entrance for this special
collection in support of many worthy projects.

A friendly reminder to all our confirmandi that this

Monday Sept 26 , at 7:30 pm there will be a
special (and mandatory) Explained Mass in our
church that will help them better understand the
Holy Eucharist that we celebrate together every
Sunday. Please remind your friends to be there.
We will be taking attendance!!!
First Saturday

On Saturday, October 1 , after the 7:30 am Mass,
there will be a Holy Hour of Adoration with
Meditated Rosary. Come join us in prayer.

Join us Sunday, October 2 , at the corner of
Keele and Major Mackenzie from 2:00 pm to 3:00
pm to peacefully and prayerfully profess our belief
in the sanctity of human life from conception to
natural death. Defend life!!!!!
General Meeting for all Wedding Couples
An important meeting for those couples getting
married at St. David’s, between now and August

of 2017, will be held Monday, Oct. 3 at 8:00 pm
in our church. Spread the word.
New and exciting changes are coming to St.
David’s Youth Ministry starting this month! Come
visit the core leaders after every Mass every

weekend through to Sept. 25 and learn about our
new Diocese-wide program: Life Teen and Edge.
Along with smiles and excitement, you will receive
a registration form for your program of interest;
there will also be registration packages in the
office. EDGE is designed for youth in grades 6
through 8, and they meet every Friday night

starting Sept. 30 from 7:30 to 9:30 pm. LIFE
TEEN is designed for youth in grades 9 through

12, and they meet every Sunday starting Oct. 2
after the 5:30 pm mass until 8:30 pm. Spread the
word to all the youth of the area!
Blessing of Pets

Bring your pets to church Tuesday, October 4 ,
(Feast of St. Francis) at 6:30 pm for a short prayer
service during which we will invoke God’s special
blessing on these creatures that bring joy to our
homes and lives.
Life in the Spirit Seminar
St. David’s prayer group is hosting the Life in the
Spirit Seminar. Enjoy a series of amazing
speakers scheduled for this seminar which places
particular emphasis on the gifts and graces of the
Holy Spirit. This seminar is intended for anyone
who desires a new awareness and deeper
relationship with God, especially through the
working of the Holy Spirit. Seminar goes from

October 12 to November 30 at 7:00 pm in the
church hall. Registration will take place

materials is $20.
Thanksgiving Food Drive
Every year our parish organizes a food drive to
reach out to those in need in our community and
also to support the work of the Good Shepherd
Refuge and other organizations. You may drop off
non-perishable goods in the food bin until the
Friday before Thanksgiving. Thank you!!!!!
Knights of Columbus Thank-You
The Knights of Columbus Council 11535 held their

Annual Golf Tournament on Saturday,

September 17 at Glen Eagle Golf Club in Bolton.
Over 200 golfers participated this year. The Golf
Committee would like to thank all our Corporate
Sponsors, Hole in One Sponsors, Gift Sponsors,
food and drink sponsors, volunteers and
especially golf participants for making this a
successful day and tournament. We look forward
to next year’s tournament.

Colletta Annuale dei Vescovi Canadesi
Questa domenica, 25 settembre, ci sarà una seconda colletta per i bisogni della Chiesa in Canada. Troverete

Catena Per La Vita- Domenica 2 ottobre, 2016
Venite domenica, 2 ottobre per un’ora, dalle 2:00 alle 3:00 pm, all-angolo di Keele e Major Mackenzie per questa
manifestazione annuale svolta in silenzio e preghiera, per promuovere il rispetto alla vita e combattere l’aborto.

Con la ricorrenza del Thanksgiving, vogliamo aprire i nostri cuori ai bisognosi della comunità che hanno tanto
