Nel 2005 ha fondato la Gae Aulenti Architetti Associati. Dopo la realizzazione a Parigi del Museé d’Orsay ha curato la ristrutturazione di Palazzo Grassi a Venezia. Tra i progetti più importanti: la riqualificazione di piazzale Cadorna a Milano e le stazioni “Museo” e “Dante” della Metropolitana a Napoli, le ex Scuderie del Quirinale a Roma, la piazza antistante la ex-stazione Leopolda di Firenze, il nuovo Asian Art Museum di San Francisco aperto nel 2003. Il Museo d’Arte Catalana a Barcellona completato nel 2004. Nel 2005 progetta l’Istituto Italiano di Cultura a Tokyo, il Palavela di Torino per i Giochi Olimpici e Piazza San Giovanni a Gubbio. Nel 2008 ultima la Biblioteca e il Centro Culturale di Paderno Dugnano, Milano, l’impianto di termovalorizzazione di Forlì e l’insieme della Città degli Studi di Biella un campus universitario distaccato del Politecnico di Torino. Nel 2012 anno della sua scomparsa è stato inaugurato Palazzo Branciforte a Palermo. Tra gli ultimi progetti a cui ha lavorato Gae Aulenti, ricordiamo anche l’Aeroporto di Perugia e l’Aeroporto di Aosta; la ristrutturazione e il recupero di Palazzo Vetus ad Alessandria; la riqualificazione del Complesso Sant’Agostino a Modena e la realizzazione di un intervento commerciale e residenziale nell’area dell’ex zuccherificio a Foligno. Fra i principali riconoscimenti, il titolo di Chevalier del la Legion d’Honneur (Parigi), Membro Onorario dell’American Institute of Architects - Hon. FAIA, il titolo di Cavaliere di Gran Croce della Repubblica Italiana, il Praemium Imperiale The Japan Art Association (Tokyo), la laurea ad honorem dalla Rhode Island School of Design, Providence (USA) e nel 2012 prima della sua scomparsa il 16 ottobre, è stata insignita del premio alla Carriera (Triennale di Milano). Il 7 dicembre 2012 viene inaugurata ed intitolata a suo nome la nuova piazza circolare situata al centro del complesso – Unicredit Tower di Milano. Gae Aulenti se forma en tant qu’architecte à Milan aux années 50 et exerça sa profession en s’occupant de conception architectonique, d’urbanisme, d’industrial design et de scénographie théâtrale. Après la réalisation du musée d’Orsay à Paris, elle s’est occupée de la restructuration du palais Grassi à Venise, de la restructuration de l’esplanade Cadorna à Milan et des stations « Museo » et « Dante » de la métropolitain à Naples, autrefois appelé “Scuderie del Quirinale à Rome” et la place située derrière la gate Leopolda de Florence. En 2003 le nouveau Asia Museum de San Francisco a été inauguré et en 2004 le Musée d’Art Catalan à Barcelone. En 2005 elle créa la Gae Aulenti Architetti Associati, l’Institut de Culture Italienne est inauguré à Tokyo, le palavela de Turin pour les Jeux Olympiques et la place San Giovanni à Gubbio; en 2008 la Bibliothèque et le centre de culture de Paderno Dugnano, Milan, l’incinérateur de déchets de Forlì et l’ensemble de la ville universitaire de Biella ; en 2012 le palais Branciforte à Palerme , l’aéroport S.Francesco de Pérouse et l’aéroport de Aoste. Parmi ses reconnaissances principales, le titre de Chevalier de la légion d’Honneur (Paris), membre honoraire de l’American Institute of Architects-Hon.FAIA, le titre de chevalier de GrandCroix de la République Italienne, le Premium Imperiale par la Japan Art Association (Tokyo), le diplôme honorifique auprès de la Rhode Island school of Design, Providence (Usa) et en 2012, avant sa mort qui eut lieu le 16 Octobre, le prix à la carrière lui fit conféré par la Triennale di Milano. Gae Aulenti bildete sich als Architektin in der Stadt Mailand der fünfziger Jahre aus, indem sie als Freiberuflerin tätig war, und sich vor allem mit architektonischer Planung, Innenraum-Design, Industrial Design und Bühnenbildnerei beschäftigte. Nach der Realisierung des Museé d’Orsay, hat sie die Umstrukturierung von Palazzo Grassi in Venedig besorgt, sowie die Umstellung von Cadorna-Platz in Mailand und die “Museo” und “Dante” U-Bahn-Stationen in Neapel, ex “Scuderie del Quirinale” Roma, und der platz ex Bahnhof Leopolda in Florence. Im Jahr 2003 wurde das neue Asia Museum von San Francisco eröffnet und im Jahr 2004 wurde das Nationalmuseum Katalanischer Kunst in Barcelona eröffnet. Im Jahr 2005 gründet sie die Gesellschaft Gae Aulenti Architetti Associati und wurden der Sitz des Italienischen Kultur-Instituts in Tokio, sowie das Palavela von Turin für die Winterolympiade und San Giovanni Platz in Gubbio eröffnet, im Jahr 2008 wurden die Bibliothek und das Kulturzentrum von Paderno Dugnano, Mailand, die Anlage zur thermischen Restmüllverwertung für Haus- und Gewerbemüll von Forlì und der Komplex der Città degli Studi“ in Biella eröffnet, und im Jahr 2012 wurden Branciforte Palast in Palermo, der Flughafen San Francesco von Perugia und der Flughafen von Aosta eröffnet. Unter den wichtigsten Anerkennungen kann man die folgenden erwähnen: der Ehrentitel von “Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur” (Paris), der Ehrentitel von Ehrenmitglied von American Institute of Architects - Hon. FAIA, und vom “Ordensritter Grosses Verdienstkreuzes” der Italienischen Republik, das Praemium Imperiale von The Japan Art Association (Tokio), der Ehrentitel von Doktor Honoris Causa der Rhode Island School of Design (Providence, USA), und im Jahr 2012 vor ihrem Verscheiden am 16. Oktober wurde sie von der Triennale von Mailand mit dem Ehrenpreis für ein Lebenswerk ausgezeichnet. Am 7. Dezember 2012 wird die neue kreisförmige Piazza im Zentrum des Unicredit-Tower-Komplexes von Mailand eröffnet und nach ihr benannt. Pipistrello nasce per uno specifico allestimento, quello del negozio Olivetti a Parigi. La lampada viene collocata sopra dei piani bianchi lungo le gradonate su cui poggiano le macchine da scrivere. Un corpo luminoso dalla luce diffusa, con base nel colore marrone scuro e un diffusore in metacrilato opal bianco, che diventa parte integrante dell’ambiente. In questi anni Pipistrello è stato prodotto, oltre che alla prima versione nel colore testa di moro, in altre varianti di colore, bianco, cromato, argento, rosso porpora, alluminio satinato, nero lucido, rame. Oggi, in occasione dei suoi 50 anni di produzione, Pipistrello viene proposto nella versione dorata, solo per l'anno 2015. Pipistrello was created for a specific setting, the one of the Olivetti shop in Paris. This lamp is placed on the white tops along the flight of steps the typewriters lie on. A bright body, with a diffuse light, with a dark brown coloured base and a diffuser in white opal methacrylate, which becomes an integral part of the environment. Over these years, Pipistrello has been produced, together with the first version in dark brown colour, in other colours, white, chrome, silver, purple-red, satin aluminium, bright black, copper. Today, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its production, Pipistrello is available in the golden version, only for the year 2015. Pipistrello est créé pour une installation spécifique, celle du magasin Olivetti à Paris. Cette lampe est placée sur des niveaux blancs le long de l’escalier sur lequel les machines à écrire sont appuyées. Un corps lumineux avec une lumière répandue, dont la base est en marron foncé et le diffuseur en méthacrylate opale blanc, qui devient une partie intégrante de l'euvironnement. Au fil des années, Pipistrello a été produit, non seulement dans la première version au marron foncée, mais aussi dans d’autres couleurs blanc, chromé, argent, rouge pourpre, aluminium satiné, noir brillant, cuivre. Aujourd’hui, à l’occasion du 50ème anniversaire de sa production, Pipistrello est disponible dans la version dorée, et cela seulement pour l'année 2015. 2 Pipistrello wurde für eine bestimmte Einrichtung geplant, d.h. die Einrichtung des Olivetti-Geschäfts in Paris. Die Lampe wird auf einigen weißen Auflageflächen gesetzt, entlang der Stufentreppe worauf die Schreibmaschinen stehen. Ein Leuchtkörper mit gestreutem Licht, mit einer Basis in der dunkelbraunen Farbe und einem Methakrylat-Strahler in der opal-weißen Farbe, der zum wesentlichen Bestandteil des Innenraums wird. In diesen Jahren wurde Pipistrello nicht nur in der ersten Version d.h. dunkelbrown sondern auch in anderen Farbevarianten, weiß, silber, verchromt, purpurrot, in der satinierten Aluminiumfarbe, shwarz glänzend, kupferrot hergestellt. Heute, anlässlich seiner 50 Jahre Produktion, wird Pipistrello in der goldenen Version, nur fürdas yahr 2015 angeboten.
