He attended art and design schools and undertook numerous placements in different European capitals. It was indeed thanks to his multicultural knowledge and his passion for photography, art, fashion, design and architecture that he succeeded in forging his own personal aesthetic taste, free from mainstream trends and constraints. His creative and rather eccentric work grew remarkably following his collaboration with Giulio Cappellini. For the past ten years, Biagi has lived in Los Angeles, a city that has inspired him to produce a new body of works using tar as an expressive medium. His idea for black tar came forth while he was visiting the La Brea Tart Pits (a natural geological site featuring pools of tar that contain fossils). 003_7979_Apparati ok.qxp:01 Sciaccaluga Esposizioni Exhibitions 70 24-01-2011 9:54 Pagina 70 Mostre personali / Solo Exhibitions Mostre collettive / Group Exhibitions 2011 “Black Tar”, Officine dell’Immagine, Milano. 2010 “Recognize Your Spiritual Need, Rediscover Your Faith in Your Religion”, Holster Projects Gallery, London. 2009 “Sweet Dreams Are Made of These”, Holster Projects Gallery, London. “Panni stesi”, a cura di / curated by Amanda Shulman, Los Angeles, CA. 2008 “We All Are Guilty, We All Are Victims, And I Am the First One”, Los Angeles, CA. “Rose Like A Phoenix From the Ashes”, Anna Kustera Gallery, New York, NY. 2007 Deborah Page Gallery, Santa Monica, CA. 2005 Twentieth Art Gallery, Los Angeles, CA.
