500th blow-moulding machine
With its Contiform S series, Krones AG
offers a concept that in the five years of
the brand’s existence has proved
outstandingly successful. So successful,
indeed, that early in January 2007 the
500th Contiform from the S series has
leaved Krones’ factory in Neutraubling:
the milestone PET stretch blow-moulding
machine is a Contiform S20, destined for
the beverage producer Tingyi-AsahiItochu in China.
• It was at the drinktec in September
2001 that the new Contiform S series
was premiered for the trade public. The
Contiform S has subsequently been
continually design-enhanced, and today
is available with a maximum hourly
output of 1,800 containers/h per station.
It is currently being produced in the
sizes S8 to S24, featuring 8 to 24 blowmoulding stations and maximum outputs
of 14,400 to 43,200 containers/h. The
drinktec in September 2005 premiered
the first medium-cavity machine for a
container size of up to 1.5 l, now
available in the Contiform S30M and
Contiform S40M models. Early in 2006,
finally, the first large-cavity machine was
delivered (a Contiform S12G for a
maximum container size of five litres).
This model is of course also available in
an H-version (hotfill). So today Krones is
able to blow-mould PET bottles ranging
in size from 0.1 to 5 litres on Contiform
machines.
Closure for kegs
The new Heineken 5 litre Draught Keg,
portable and disposable container for
dispensing the famous Dutch beer on
tap, is fitted with a patented closure
system that keeps the beer fresh in the
fridge for around 30 days. The closure,
easy to apply, comprises five PP
components, obtained by injection
moulding, and a small extruded tube,
this too in PP.
The components come in a practical
blister provided with a protective plastic
ring, capable also of acting as a handle,
and once assembled they ensure
maximum airtightness of the closure. All
the pieces have been produced by
Quadrant CMS (Creative Moulding &
Systems), in their Tielt works (B),
company specialised in the injection
moulding that – with this creation – are
debuting for the first time in the
beverage sector.
Con la serie Contiform S, Krones offre un concetto di
macchine che è si affermato in modo straordinario nei
suoi cinque anni di presenza sul mercato: il suo successo è stato tale che all’inizio di gennaio 2007 è uscita dallo stabilimento Krones di Neutraubling la Contiform
S numero 500: la soffiatrice per PET che ha l’onore di
portare questo numero è una Contiform S20 attiva ora
in Cina, presso il produttore di bevande Tingyi-AsahiItochu.
• La nuova serie Contiform S è stata presentata al pubblico specializzato per la prima volta alla drinktec del
settembre 2001. La Contiform S è stata poi costantemente perfezionata ed oggi è disponibile con un rendimento max. di 1.800 recipienti/h per stazione. Al momento è possibile scegliere le dimensioni dalla S8 alla
S24, con un numero stazioni di soffiaggio compreso fra 8 e 24 e rendimenti che
spaziano dai 14.400 ai 43.200 recipienti/h.
In occasione della drinktec svoltasi nel settembre del 2005 è arrivata anche la prima soffiatrice a cavità medie per recipienti di volume fino a 1,5 litri; questa macchina è ora disponibile nelle versioni Contiform S30M e Contiform S40M. Nella
primavera del 2006, infine, è stata consegnata la prima soffiatrice a cavità grandi: la Contiform S12G produce recipienti di volume fino a cinque litri, ed è naturalmente disponibile anche nella versione H (hotfill). Grazie a questa macchina,
oggi con le sue Contiform la Krones può produrre bottiglie in PET con capacità
compresa fra 0,1 litri e 5 litri.
Chiusura per keg
Il nuovo Draught Keg da 5 litri di Heineken,
contenitore portatile e monouso per la spillatura della celebre birra olandese, è dotato
di un sistema di chiusura brevettato in grado di mantenere la bevanda fresca, in frigorifero, per circa 30 giorni. La chiusura, di
facile applicazione, è costituita da cinque
componenti di PP, ottenuti per stampaggio
a iniezione, e da un piccolo tubo estruso,
anch’esso di PP. I componenti sono forniti in
un pratico blister munito di un anello protettivo di plastica, in grado di fare anche da
maniglia, e una volta assemblati assicurano
la massima tenuta della chiusura. Tutti i pezzi sono stati prodotti nello stabilimento di Tielt
(B) di Quadrant CMS (Creative Moulding &
Systems), azienda specializzata nello stampaggio a iniezione che - con questa realizzazione - debutta per la prima volta nel settore del beverage.
In paper for water
Stora Enso Speciality Papers has
devised a new paper substrate
specifically devised for labeling bottles
of water in PET.
EcoSet, this the name of the new paper,
has been tested during the entire
bottling phase and combines the low
environmental impact of cellulose
materials with the high performance in
the application phase. Avaiable in basis
weights of 70, 75 and 80 gsms, EcoSet
can boast a surface capable of ensuring
faithful quality printing, good brightness
(and good opacity should the label be
wetted), and lastly a high humidity
resistance.

Di carta per acqua
Stora Enso Speciality Papers ha messo a punto un nuovo supporto cartaceo specificamente pensato per l’etichettatura delle bottiglie d’acqua in PET. EcoSet, questo il nome della nuova carta, è stata testata durante tutte le fasi di imbottigliamento
e coniuga il basso impatto ambientale dei materiali cellulosici ad alte prestazioni in fase di applicazione. Disponibile in
grammatura da 70, 75 e 80 g/m2, EcoSet vanta una superficie in grado di assicurare stampe fedeli e di qualità, buona brillantezza (e buona opacità in caso l’etichetta si bagni) e, per finire, un’elevata resistenza all’umidità.
