The Italian Chapter of AIDA has the pleasure to invite and welcome you at the XIV World Congress of AIDA
(Association Internationale de Droit des Assurances) that will be held in Rome from September 28, 2014
to October 2, 2014. I would like to thank AIDA for the decision to entrust again the Italian Chapter of the
organization of a World Congress. A return to the origin of our association: the very first World Congress was held in
Rome in the spring of 1962, strongly supported and inspired by Antigono Donati, president and founder of the Italian
Chapter organizing the event. The participants included eminent representatives of legal science and insurance world.
Long time has passed: AIDA, in these fifty-two years, lead us around the world with prestigious international congresses
and countless initiatives, developing, strengthening and building stronger and enduring relationships among national
chapters, members, insurance law scholars, professionals and insurance companies. Rome sends its greetings and
welcomes back AIDA and the old and new friends joining us.
On behalf of the Italian Chapter I would also like to express my earnest gratitude [to the President of the Italian Republic
Giorgio Napolitano for having granted its patronage to our initiative]. I also thank the European University of Rome
that will host the congress in their beautiful premises in Via degli Aldobrandeschi and each of the sponsors that are
generously supporting the organization of the event. Sincere gratitude goes to all members of the Presidential Council
and of the Scientific Committee, to the speakers and rapporteurs and to everybody who made this congress possible
with their valuable contribution. Finally a very special greeting to each participant: we will be honoured to host the
participants and those accompanying them, coming from all over the world and sharing their experience, knowledge,
ideas and horizons in productive and exciting sessions.
The congress will be hosted at a campus located in a beautiful park, a few steps from the Basilica of Saint Peter and
well connected to the city centre. The organization of the congress will ensure that the work will be entertained by the
traditional gala dinner, by cultural events and opportunities to socialize and discover the natural and artistic beauties of
our Country. We hope that the congress will be an opportunity to discover or rediscover Rome and its treasures.

La Sezione Italiana di AIDA ha il piacere di invitarVi e di darVi il benvenuto al XIV Congresso Mondiale di
AIDA (Association Internationale de Droit des Assurances) che si terrà a Roma dal 28 settembre al 2 ottobre
2014. Desidero ringraziare AIDA per la scelta di affidare nuovamente alla Sezione Italiana l’organizzazione
del Congresso mondiale. Un ritorno alle origini per la nostra associazione: il primo Congresso mondiale si tenne infatti
a Roma nella primavera del 1962, fortemente voluto e ispirato da Antigono Donati, nella sua qualità di Presidente
e fondatore della Sezione Italiana organizzatrice dell’evento. Fra i partecipanti figuravano i massimi esponenti della
scienza giuridica mondiale e del mondo
assicurativo. Molto tempo è trascorso: in questi cinquantadue anni AIDA, con prestigiosi congressi mondiali e innumerevoli
iniziative, ci ha accompagnato nel mondo, crescendo, rafforzandosi e creando legami sempre più solidi e duraturi tra le
sezioni nazionali, gli associati, gli studiosi del diritto delle assicurazioni, i professionisti, le compagnie di assicurazione.
Roma porge il suo saluto di bentornato ad AIDA e ai vecchi e nuovi amici che la accompagnano.
A nome della Sezione Italiana desidero poi esprimere la più sentita gratitudine [al Presidente della Repubblica Giorgio
Napolitano per aver concesso il proprio patronato alla nostra iniziativa]. Ringrazio poi l’Università Europea di Roma
che ospiterà i lavori nella propria splendida sede di Via degli Aldobrandeschi e ognuno degli sponsor che supportano
con generosità l’organizzazione dell’evento. I più sinceri ringraziamenti vanno poi a tutti i componenti del Presidential
Council, al Comitato Scientifico, ai relatori e a tutte le persone che con il loro prezioso contributo hanno reso possibile
questo Congresso. Un saluto e un ringraziamento particolare infine a ciascuno dei partecipanti: sarà un onore ospitare i
congressisti e i loro accompagnatori giunti da ogni parte del mondo portando con sé un bagaglio di esperienze,
conoscenze, idee e orizzonti da condividere e confrontare in giornate che si preannunciano ricche e stimolanti.
I lavori congressuali si terranno in un campus immerso nel verde, a pochi passi dalla Basilica di San Pietro e ben
collegato con il centro di Roma. L’organizzazione del congresso farà in modo che i lavori siano allietati dalla tradizionale
serata di gala, da iniziative culturali e da occasioni di socializzazione e di scoperta delle bellezze artistiche e naturali del
nostro Paese. Il congresso sarà quindi anche un’opportunità per scoprire o riscoprire Roma e i suoi tesori.

Meeting with the assistant and the bus in the hotel and
departure for Naples. Short scenic tour ending in the
boarding area to Capri. Arrival in the gorgeous island and
guided minitour (Marina Grande, Anacapri, Capri). Lunch
in restaurant. In the afternoon, weather permitting, it will
be possible to visit the famous Grotta Azzurra (optional
entrance). Later on, return to Naples by hydrofoil. Transfer
in the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
4th October
Breakfast in hotel. Meeting with the local guide and
departure for the tour of the Costiera Amalfitana main
destinations (Positano, Amalfi). Stop for the lunch.
Ravello. In the late afternoon, return to Naples. Dinner

Breakfast in hotel. Transfer to Pompei, meeting with the
local guide and visit to the Excavates of this flourishing,
ancient, Roman city, totally destroyed by the Vesuvio
volcano’s burst in 79 a.D. Lunch in restaurant. In the

Incontro con la hostess ed il pullman in hotel e partenza per
Napoli. Breve visita panoramica con termine all’imbarco
per gli aliscafi per Capri. Arrivo nella splendida isola e
minitour (Marina Grande, Anacapri, Capri, Marina Grande)
con la guida. Pranzo in ristorante. Nel pomeriggio, tempo
permettendo si potrà visitare la famosissima Grotta
Azzurra (ingresso facoltativo). Più tardi rientro in aliscafo
a Napoli, trasferimento in hotel. Cena e pernottamento
4 ottobre
Colazione in hotelRitrovo con la guida locale e partenza
per la visita delle principale destinazioni della Costiera
Amalfitana (Positano, Amalfi, sosta per il pranzo),
Ravello. Rientro a Napoli nel tardo pomeriggio. Cena e

Colazione in hotel. Trasferimento a Pompei, incontro con
la guida locale e visita agli Scavi di questa fiorente antica
città Romana distrutta completamente dall’eruzione
del vulcano Vesuvio nel 79 d.c. Pranzo in ristorante. Nel
pomeriggio rientro a Roma. Fine del tour.

Meeting with the assistant and departure by bus to Siena.
Short tour of the old town centre where you can see the
magnificent Cathedral and piazza del Campo (where the
Palio horse race takes place) with the Mangia tower. Lunch
in restaurant. In the afternoon, travelling to Florence. Dinner
and overnight stay.
4th October
Breakfast in hotel. Meeting with the local guide and
departure for the tour of the main monuments of the city:
Santa Maria del Fiore with the Basilica, Giotto’s bell tower
and the Baptistery, piazza della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio.
Lunch in restaurant. In the afternoon, transfer to Pisa for the
guided scenic tour (Pisa tower, Cathedral and Baptistery).
Return to Florence in the evening. Dinner and overnight
stay.
5th October
Transfer to Arezzo, meeting with the local guide and tour
of the ancient city, which was Etruscan in the beginning,
then Roman military district, and after that it became free
municipality, to finaly become a county seat. Lunch in the
local restaurant. In the afternoon, return to Rome. End of
the tour.

Colazione in hotel Ritrovo con la guida locale e partenza per
la visita dei principali monumenti della città: il complesso
monumentale di Santa Maria del Fiore con la basilica, il
campanile di Giotto ed il Battistero, Piazza della Signoria,
Ponte Vecchio. Pranzo in ristorante. Nel pomeriggio
trasferimento a Pisa per la visita guidata panoramica (Torre
di Pisa, cattedrale e Battistero). Rientro a Firenze nel tardo
pomeriggio. Cena e pernottamento.

Colazione in hotel. Trasferimento ad Arezzo, incontro con
la guida locale e visita della antica città, prima etrusca,
poi presidio romano poi libero comune fino a diventare

years of history, led by Piero Angela and Paco Lanciano,
discovering a magnificent archaeological site, once the centre of
city life in ancient Rome, that begins from the still visible marbles
of the Forum of Augustus.A captivating reconstruction, rich in
scientifically and historically detailed information, situated inside
the archaeological site itself. Here, spectators can witness a
multi-projection show of lights, images, short films and animation
set to a background of music, sound effects and the narration by
Piero Angela in 6 languages ​(Italian, English, French, Russian,
Spanish and Japanese).
Please note that event starts at 23:00 h on Monday 29th
after the Visit to Capitoline Museums and cocktail at Terrazza

archeologico, un tempo al centro delle vicende dell’antica Roma.
Una rappresentazione emozionante ed allo stesso tempo ricca di
informazioni dal
grande rigore storico e scientifico che viene ricostruita proprio
all’interno del sito archeologico. Qui gli spettatori assistono
ad una multiproiezione di luci, immagini, filmati e animazioni
accompagnate da musiche, effetti sonori e dal racconto di Piero

giapponese).
