LUCIANO ACOCELLA Direttore d’orchestra Expert and eclectic conductor, Luciano Acocella is equally at home in the symphonic, contemporary and opera repertory. From 2011 to 2014 he was Music Director of Opéra de Rouen Haute Normandie. He has appeared in some among the world’s best theaters, including Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Teatro Filarmonico di Verona, Opéra d’Avignon, Opéra de Marseille, Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse, Opéra de Nancy, Opéra Royal de Wallonie de Liège, Théâtre de Champs Élysée de Paris, Opernhaus in Zurich, Opera de La Coruña, Choregies d’Orange, as well as in Tokyo, Seoul and Moscow. He also conducted in such festivals as e presso Festival de Radio France de Montpellier, Rossini in Wildbald Festival, Festival di Martina Franca and Festival de Musique Sacre de Marseille. Also active in the symphonic fields, he conducted on the podium of such important orchestras as St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre National de France, Orchestre Philharmonique de Marseille, Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre National de Montpellier, Orquestra Sinfonica de Galicia, Orchestre National d'Ile de France and Orchestre Philharmonique de Montecarlo. In Italy he led the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Filarmonica Toscanini di Parma and Orchestra I Pomeriggi Musicali di Milano. In July 2014 he made his Germany debut conducting Adelaide di Borgogna by Rossini at Festival Rossini in Wilbad. Other recent engagements have included a symphonic concert on the podium of the New Russia Symphony Orchestra at Cajkovski Hall in Moscow. He opened the 2015/16 season conducting Otello at Opéra de Massy, followed by Maria Stuarda at Opéra d’Avignon. Among his future plans are productions of Requiem by Mozart at the International Music House of Moscow, Demetrio e Polibio and Le Comte Ory at Rossini in Wildbad Festival. His recordings inlcude I Capuleti e i Montecchi (cd/dvd) and Adelaide di Borgogna (cd/dvd, coming soon). He studied at Conservatoy of Santa Cecilia in Rome, at Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen, and he attended specialized courses at Accademia Musicale Chigiana, at Accademia Nazionale di S. Cecilia and at Kondrashin Masterclass in Hilversum. He also worked as assistent of Daniele Gatti at Teatro Comunale di Bologna, and in many operatic international productions.
