Conductor
One of the most interesting conductors of his generation, world acclaimed for his eclectic and elegant style, his
repertory includes seventy operatic titles and more than two hundred symphonic works.
Deeply influenced by the proximity of Claudio Abbado, Marco Guidarini debuted as assistant conductor of John Eliot
Gardiner. His career brought him on the podium of such prestigious venues as New York Metropolitan Opera, Teatro
alla Scala, Los Angeles Opera, Dallas Opera, San Diego Opera, Australia Opera House in Sydney, Canadian Opera of
Toronto, Teatro Colon de Buenos Aires, Teatro Municipal de Santiago de Chile, Bolshoi of Moscow, Liceu de
Barcelona, Palau de Les Arts Reina Sofia de Valenica, Berlin Deutsche Oper, Munich Staatsoper, Opéra de Nice, Opéra
de Marseille, Opéra de Montpellier, Saint Denis Festival, Choregies d’Orange, Savonlinna Festival, Teatro de La
Maestranza di Siviglia, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, Teatro Massimo di Palermo.
In Janaury 2017 he was appointed Musical Director of Mitteleuropa Orchestra.
From 2001 to 2009 he was Musical Director of Orchestre Philarmonique de Nice.
In Nice he founded the Ensemble Apostrophe, dedicated to modern music, and he directed the Sacred Music Festival.
He also was the founder and Artistic Director of “Concours International de Belcanto Vincenzo Bellini”.
He works with the world's major musical academies, especially with the Accademia della Scala di Milano.
Recent operatic engagements have included Così fan tutte at Palau Les Arts Reina Sofia di Valencia, Turandot at
Bolshoi in Moscow, Madama Butterfly at Scottish Opera in Glasgow, I vespri siciliani at Opéra de Nice, Mefistofele and
Romeo et Juliette at Opera de Prague, La traviata and Il Trovatore at Canadian Opera of Toronto.
He conducted on the podium of several international Ochestras including ABC Radio Orchestra of Melbourne,
Orchestre Nationale de Radio France, Orchestre Nationale de Montpellier, Orchestre Philarmonique de Radio France,
Orchestra Regionale Toscana, Orchestra of SWF in Baden-Baden, Quebec Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of
Stockholm, Philharmonic Orchestra of Hong Kong, Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra of St.
Petersburg, Staadkappelen of Hallen, Philharmonic Orchestra of Nice, Orchestra Sinfonica de Asturias, Symphony
Orchestra of Malaga, Orchestra of Accademia della Scala, I Pomeriggi Musicali a Milano, I Filarmonici di Torino.
Grand Officer of the Star of Italian Solidarity, a distinction of knighthood from the Italian Republic and Chevalier des
Arts et des Lettres from French Ministry of Culture.
He recorded for Deutsche Grammophone, Dynamic, Naive, Talents Records and Bongiovanni.
In 2004 he won the prestigious Prix Charles Cros (Orphée d'Or) for the recording of Le Villi (for Naive) with the
Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France.
