Hiking
More than 200 km of hiking trails in Leukerbad, the Gemmi and Torrent region
take you through different landscapes with different plant life.
A panoramic map of Leukerbad and its surrounding area can be obtained from
the Leukerbad Tourismus office for free.

Monster scooters can be hired at the Torrent cableways.

Nine-hole disc-golf course
In summer, sports fans can look forward to trying out a new sport on the ninehole disc-golf course. The aim is simple: to get your discs into the nine baskets
around the course in as few throws as possible. Fun for all the family!
Fishing
Fishing is permitted in the Dala river from the first Sunday in June to the first
Sunday in October. You can also fish in Lämmerensee lake from the first Sunday
in June to the last Sunday in November. Daily fishing permits may be bought at
Gemmi cableways (approx. CHF 30.–/35.–).

Golf
The 18-hole golf course in the Rhône valley is around 18 km from Leukerbad
and takes only half an hour to reach. The par 72 course is 54 ha wide in total.
Golf can be played here for some 9 months of the year.

Via Ferrata Gemmi–Daubenhorn
The steep rock faces of the Daubenhorn that tower above Leukerbad have been
equipped with 216 meters of ladders and over 2,000 meters of steel cable.
The via ferrata leads visitors up high for a unique panoramic view of the Valais
Alps. A special feature in an approx. 100-metre section where climbers must
pass though a natural cave; in the winter it provides a channel for the avalanches that thunder down towards the valley.
Please note: This is a challenging via ferrata suited to experienced, sure-footed
mountaineers with a high level of fitness. It is not recommended for vertigo
sufferers. The via ferrata is closed in rainy and stormy weather conditions due
to the risk of falling rocks. Climbers should be aware that they use the via
ferrata at their own risk. For more information and opening times, visit

Gemmi adventure via ferrata
The Gemmi adventure via ferrata is situated at 2,300 metres a.s.l. on the historic Gemmi Pass, just below the Gemmi cableway mountain station. Visitors can
look forward to lots of exciting features such as the 65-metre-long rope bridge
and the 20-metre-high ladder that turns through 540°!
Thermal canyon walk
Rock climbing
Almost dramatic and still poetic – the imposing thermal canyon walk path
leads to the Dala gorge. To walk the almost 600-metre thermal spring trek
along Dala Gorge at least 4 meters above water level, you need a head for
heights and good walking shoes.
The thermal canyon walk can be accessed by wheelchair (gradient of max. 22%,
width: 65 cm). Must be accompanied by two strong helpers.
There are over 100 possible climbing routes in and around Leukerbad, and every
one of them is a thrilling experience.
A new via ferrata area for kids and beginners is now open in the forest above
Leukerbad with twelve exciting new routes. For more information, as well as

The Albinen Ladders: The oldest via ferrata in Switzerland and the Alps –
opened in 1781.

Thermal spring trek
From spring to autumn, you can find out a great deal about Leukerbad’s
thermal water from a series of nine well-designed information boards. The
information is in both German and French and the trail stretches over 3 km
through the village.

Torrent ridge trail
Those who love a challenge shouldn’t miss out on the ridge trail up on the
Torrent. The trail begins at the Torrenthorn secondary summit and passes via
the Schafberg to the Rinderhütte mountain station.

Piu di 200 km di percorsi escursionistici di Leukerbad, della regione del Gemmi e
del Torrent conducono attraverso paesaggi diversi, dalla vegetazione variegata.

Avete voglia di cimentarvi in una velocissima discesa dal Torrent a bordo
dei Monstertrottinettes? Li potete prendere a prestito presso gli impianti del
Torrent.
Da quest’estate potete dedicarvi a un nuovo tipo di golf sul Torrent: il percorso
a 9 buche di disc golf. Quest’innovativa tipologia sportiva si pone l’obiettivo di
centrare il canestro con un disco (frisbee). Play the game and enjoy Torrent!
Pesca
Dalla prima domenica di giugno fino alla prima domenica di ottobre è possibile
pescare nel fiume Dala. Nel lago Lämmerensee la stagione di pesca, invece, va
dalla prima domenica di giugno all’ultima domenica di novembre. A Leukerbad
si possono ottenere le licenze giornaliere presso gli impianti del risalita del
Gemmi (ca. CHF 30.–/35.–).

Golf
Il campo da golf a 18 buche della valle del Rodano si trova a circa 18 km da
Leukerbad ed è raggiungibile in mezz’ora. Il campo con par 72 si estende lungo
54 ha. È praticabile circa 9 mesi all’anno.

Via Ferrata Gemmi–Daubenhorn
Nelle rocce ripide del Dauberhorn, che sovrasta Leukerbad, sono stati installati
216 metri di funi e oltre 2.000 metri di cavetti d’acciaio.
Il percorso di scalata ferrata avvicina i visitatori all’eccezionale panorama delle
Alpi del Vallese con la massima efficacia. Assolutamente unica è la grotta
naturale di ben 100 metri circa di lunghezza, che può essere attraversata e dalla
quale scendono a valle delle piccole valanghe.
Requisiti: persone esperte della montagna, sicure, che non soffrono di vertigini
e in ottime condizioni fisiche. In caso di pioggia o temporale è vietato utilizzare la ferrata per il rischio di caduta di massi. L’escursione viene effettuata
sempre a proprio rischio e pericolo. Ulteriori informazioni e orari di apertura

Via ferrata avventurosa sul Gemmi
La strada ferrata mozzafiato del Gemmi si trova sullo storico valico del Passo
del Gemmi, al di sotto della stazione montana degli impianti di risalita del
Gemmi, a ben 2.300 m s.l.m. Numerose attrazioni attendono il visitatore,
garantendo sicuramente forti emozioni. Veri highlight sono il ponte su funi
sospese di ben 65 m di lunghezza o la scala a pioli girevole di 20 m, che compie
rotazioni di 540°.
La passerella delle sorgenti termali
Una nuova passerella delle sorgenti termali vi conduce attraverso la gola della
Dala: è un momento molto emozionante ma anche poetico. Per percorrere la
passerella delle sorgenti termali di quasi 600 metri nella gola della Dala, ad
almeno 4 metri sopra il livello dell’acqua, è necessario non soffrire di vertigini e
indossare scarpe solide.
La passeggiata delle sorgenti termali è accessibile con la sedia a rotelle fino alla
cascata (pendenza massima del 22%, larghezza 65 cm). Necessari due accompagnatori dotati di forza.

Percorso/passerella sulla cresta del Torrent
Da primavera ad autunno 9 interessanti tabelloni informativi lungo un percorso
di 3 km attraverso il paese offrono esaurienti notizie sull’acqua termale di
Leukerbad in lingua tedesca e francese.
Chi ama il brivido dell’adrenalina deve assolutamente provare l’impegna­tivo
percorso/passerella sulla cresta del Torrent, che porta dalla cima del Torrenthorn fino al monte Schafberg per tornare poi alla Rinderhütte.

Forti emozioni sono una promessa delle numerose aree di scalata (con oltre
100 percorsi) a e nei dintorni di Leukerbad. Novità: zona di scalata per bambini
e principianti con 12 nuovi percorsi per bambini e principianti nel bosco sopra
Leukerbad. Ulteriori informazioni e cartine topografiche e dei percorsi sono
disponibili sul sito www.viaferrata-leukerbad.ch. Scale di Albinen: la più antica
via ferrata della Svizzera o rispettivamente delle Alpi, risalente al 1781. Scale di
Varen: mini strada ferrata presso Rumeling.
