San Luca Church
Located on a hill dominating Bologna, Santuario di San Luca is one of the symbols of the city. The
most charming way to reach it is to walk along the 666 arches of the longest portico in the world!
The portico, built in the 18th century, starts from Via Saragozza and leads to the sanctuary with a
route lasting almost four kilometers, which starts on flat ground and ends at 220 meters on Colle
della Guardia. The views over the city that can be seen from the portico and hill will fully repay the
effort. Inside the Sanctuary you can see the famous picture of the Madonna, a Byzantine painting
that legend attributes to the evangelist Luke.

DA via Indipendenza A Villa Spada  BUS nr. 20
Il biglietto si acquista prima di salire sul bus, presso edicole o tabacchi.
Le corse sono ogni 5 minuti ed il bus impiega circa 20 minuti per raggiungere Villa Spada.
DA Villa Spada AL Santuario di S. Luca  MINIBUS PRIVATO
Il biglietto si acquista sul minibus: corsa semplice: £. 3.000 - biglietto andata e ritorno: £. 5.000.

Domenica e festivi - Ogni 20” dalle 8 alle 12 e dalle 15 alle 17.20.

• A PIEDI
Partendo dal “Meloncello”, è possibile salire a piedi sino al Santuario;
dalla base del colle di S. Luca inizia infatti il famoso porticato.
Per raggiungere l’Arco Meloncello prendere il bus nr. 20 - come sopra descritto -, scendere
alla fermata successiva a Villa Spada e procedere sotto i portici per circa 2 Km (35’’ circa).
• IN AUTO ED IN PULLMAN TURISTICO
Strada consigliata per raggiungere il Santuario :
da Porta Saragozza, proseguire per via Saragoz
za e all’altezza di Villa Spada ,
voltare a sinistra per via di Casaglia seguendo le indicazioni per S.Luca.

• BY BUS
FROM via Indipendenza TO Villa Spada  BUS nr. 20
You buy the ticket before you take the bus in any tobacconist or new-agent.
The bus runs every 5 minutes and takes approximately 20 minutes to join Villa Spada.
FROM Villa Spada TO Santuario di S. Luca  PRIVATE MINIBUS
You buy the ticket in the bus: one fare: £. 3.000 - return ticket : £. 5.000.
Time table of the minibus:
Weekdays - 7.00 - 7.30 - 8.00 - 9.00 - 12.00 - 12.30 - 13.00 - 13.30 - 14.00 - 17.30 - 18.00 - 18.30- 19.00
Sunday and Holidays - Every 20 minutes, from 8 to 12 and from 15 to 17.20.
From March to October also at 14.00 - 14.20 - 14.40 - 18.00 - 18.20.
• ON FOOT
You can join the Sanctuary on foot starting from “Meloncello”
because the famous arcades begin from the base of the hill of S. Luca.
To join the Arch Meloncello take bus nr. 20 - see the above mentioned information -,
get off at the bus-stop after Villa Spada, then you can follow the arcades for about 2 Km. (35 min).
• BY CAR OR BY TOURIST BUS
The way we suggest to join the Sanctuary is:
from Porta Saragozza proceed along Saragozza Street , turn left at Villa Spada and
you are on Casaglia Street , follow the signes to S.Luca.
