INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on your purchase of the Wireless PDA Keyboard. Now, if you
replace your PDA, you won’t have to replace your keyboard. Using dual-beam
infrared technology to communicate with your PDA, this Belkin innovation lets you
input data to your PDA without physically attaching it to the Keyboard. It works
with most popular handhelds, including Pocket PC, Palm, and Sony CLIÉ devices.
Driver updates can allow it to work with future handheld product releases as well.
With the Wireless PDA Keyboard, Belkin presents you with another long-term
PDA solution.

SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
Installing Keyboard on your Pocket PC
Before installing the software, please note the following:
•

You must make sure any keyboard software previously installed on your Pocket
PC is disabled.
There must be at least 1.2MB of free memory on your Pocket PC.
We recommend that you back up all files in your Pocket PC prior to installation.
1. Close all active windows on your Pocket PC.
2. Connect your Pocket PC to your desktop computer and make sure Microsoft®
AcitveSync® is operational.
3. Insert the Wireless PDA Keyboard Setup CD into the CD-ROM drive of your
desktop computer; the setup program will launch automatically. (If it does not,
click “Start”, “Run”, and browse for your CD-ROM drive.)
4. Choose “Install the Pocket PC software” in the setup dialog box that appears.
5. The message, “Add/Remove Programs” of Microsoft ActiveSync will appear.
6. Click “Yes” in response to the message “Install Wireless PDA Keyboard using the
default application install directory?”
7. Click “OK” in response to the “Application Downloading Complete” message.
8. The Wireless PDA Keyboard software is successfully installed on your Pocket PC.
You can disconnect your Pocket PC from the desktop computer at this time.
9. The “Wireless PDA Keyboard” Configuration page will launch automatically on
the Pocket PC.
10. You should see the status “ON” indication, meaning the keyboard function is
on (Fig. 1). If the status is “OFF”, click the “Enable” button to turn on
the function.

Note: For Pocket PC 2002 users, please disable the beam-receiving mode according to
the following steps.
1. Tap “Start Menu” and then tap “Settings”.
2. Tap “Connections” and then tap “Beam”.
3. Uncheck the box “Receive all incoming beams and select discoverable mode”
and then tap “OK”. (Fig. 2)

Removing Keyboard from your Pocket PC
1. Close all active windows on your Pocket PC.
2. Disable the screen rotation function by unchecking the box next to option
“Screen Rotation” on the “Wireless PDA Keyboard” Configuration page. Next,
perform a soft-reset to the Pocket PC as instructed by your PDA’s user manual.
3. Go to the “Remove Programs” settings page under the “System” section in the
“Settings” menu.
4. Select “Wireless PDA Keyboard” and then tap “Remove”.
5. Tap “Yes” to confirm when the “Remove Program?” message appears.
Note: In order to use the Wireless PDA Keyboard in the future, you will have to
reinstall the software.
Installing Keyboard on Palm OS
Before installing the software, please note the following:
• You must make sure any keyboard software previously installed on your Palm is
disabled.
• There must be at least 180KB of free memory on your Palm.
• We recommend that you back up all files on your Palm before installation.
1. Insert the Wireless PDA Keyboard Setup CD into the CD-ROM drive of your
desktop computer; the setup program will launch automatically. (If it does not,
click “Start”, “Run”, and browse for your CD-ROM drive.)
2. Choose “Install the Palm software” in the setup dialog box that appears.
3. A dialog box will appear that allows you to choose the device to be installed.
You will also need to choose the appropriate user for installing the software.
After doing this, click “OK”.

5. Close all active applications. Place your Palm onto your HotSync cradle, and
perform a HotSync operation. The Wireless PDA Keyboard software will then be
installed in your Palm.
6. After the HotSync operation, you may detach your Palm from the cradle.
7. To launch the “Wireless PDA Keyboard” Configuration page, tap the “Wireless
PDA Keyboard” icon on your Palm handheld’s main menu.
8. Status “ON” means the keyboard function is on. If the status is “OFF”, tap the
“Enable” button and then the function will be on. (Fig. 3)

1. Set the “Screen Rotation” to 0º on the “Wireless PDA Keyboard”
Configuration page.
2. Close all active applications on your Palm device.
3. Open the menu bar and then choose “Delete” on the submenu “App”.
4. Choose “Wireless PDA Keyboard” and then tap the “Delete” button on the
“Delete” page.
5. Tap “Yes” in response to the “Delete Application” dialog in confirming the
removal of the software.
Note: In order to use the Wireless PDA Keyboard in the future, you will have to
reinstall the software.

USING THE KEYBOARD
Setting Up the Keyboard
1. Detach the keyboard from the stand cover.
2. Hold the keyboard and press the release button to open it. Then place it on a
flat surface.
3. Install the battery.
a) Open the battery compartment located on top of the keyboard.
b) Insert a AAA battery in the battery compartment; note direction for correct
battery position, indicated by a “+” and “–“ sign.
c) Close the battery compartment.
4. Pull out the metal support wire at the back of the stand and rest it on a flat
surface. Pull and flip over the reflector to position it toward the IR port of
your PDA.
5. Place your PDA on the stand with its IR port on top.

USING THE KEYBOARD
Aligning the Keyboard
The keyboard automatically detects IR signals from the PDA. Press the two “Shift”
keys on the keyboard and look for a symbol to appear on the tool bar of the
PDA. This indicates that the connection is made, that the keyboard detects the
infrared signals from the PDA, and that you are within the correct distance for
typing. If the symbol does appear, slide the keyboard vertically and horizontally to
place it within the correct position. (Fig. 4)

To prevent false key entry, please be sure to place the keyboard outside the IR
receiving distance; or switch off the PDA before closing the keyboard.

TYPING WITH THE KEYBOARD
Typing Lowercase Letters
To enter lowercase letters with your Wireless PDA Keyboard, simply type them as
you would on a standard computer keyboard.
Typing Uppercase Letters
To capitalise one letter: Press “Shift” while typing the letter.
To capitalise a block of letters: Press “Caps Lock” then all other letters you enter
will be capitalised. Symbol
will appear on the lower right-hand corner of
the PDA screen.
To release “Caps Lock”, simply press “Caps Lock” again.
Typing Numbers and Symbols
To type a symbol: As on most keyboards, your Wireless PDA Keyboard places many
common symbols on the uppercase level of the number keys. Press “Shift” and the
relative number simultaneously to type the symbol on your PDA.

CONFIGURING THE KEYBOARD SOFTWARE
To access the keyboard application, tap “Start” and then “Wireless PDA Keyboard”
on your handheld device.
Enable – This will allow the Wireless PDA Keyboard driver to accept key input.
Disable – This will turn off the driver. Remember to enable the keyboard again,
before your next use.
Repeat Rate – This will determine the repeat frequency of a key when you hold it
down continuously.
Delay Until Repeat – This will determine the delay from your holding down a key
to the key repeating.
Close Software Keyboard (for Pocket PC users only) – An on-screen keyboard
will pop up while you type on the Wireless PDA Keyboard. Choose “Yes” to disable
this feature.
Click Sound – You can enable or disable your key click sound. In order for this
function to work properly, you must first turn on the hardware-buttons sound in
your PDA.

CONFIGURING THE KEYBOARD SOFTWARE
Screen Rotation
Some PDAs have the infrared port on the side, so you must rotate your screen to
place your PDA on the stand sideways. After enabling the screen-rotation function,
you can choose to rotate the screen 0º, 90º, 180º, or 270º.
You can simply choose the settings in your Configuration page or you can use the
Fn , Fn on the keyboard to rotate the screen.
For Pocket PC users, during the status of 90º or 270º rotation, you can use the
keys “ALT-PgUp” and “ALT-PgDn” to scroll up and down.
Note: You need to soft-rest your Pocket PC to enable this function. If the Pocket PC
does not function properly after enabling screen rotation, soft-reset your Pocket PC to
return to its normal state of operation.
Note: The screen rotation function may not be available on all PDA models. Please
check out our website at www.belkin.com for the latest PDA compatibility list.
Test Area – You can test your Wireless PDA Keyboard by typing in this area.

SPECIAL FEATURES ON THE KEYBOARD (POCKET PC)
After installing the Wireless PDA Keyboard software, the software runs automatically
and you can use the keyboard at any time. After setup, simply position the IR port
of your Pocket PC toward the IR port of the keyboard and then start typing.

Assigning Quick Launcher
You can launch different applications quickly. Tap “Options” under the “File” menu
on your keyboard Configuration page to launch the assigning applications screen.
You can easily choose which program to launch with different key combinations.

The FaceBoard Button
Pressing the Fn :-) button will cause a window (Fig. 7) to pop up, which
contains various, less frequently used symbols and punctuation marks, as well as
popular “smiley” patterns for your e-mail. To select a symbol, you can either
touch the on-screen button or press the corresponding key shown below the
on-screen button.
You can also use an Alternative FaceBoard by activating the on-screen SIP
keyboard and then choosing FaceBoard as the input method. (Fig. 8)

Customising the FaceBoard
You can customise the FaceBoard with any combination of symbols or key string.
To configure FaceBoard:
1. Tap on “Edit” tab in the FaceBoard screen to bring up the editing screen. (Fig. 9)
2. Tap on the key you want to redefine, an input screen will come up. (Fig. 10)
3. Type the desired characters or symbols in the edit box. You can use the
on-screen SIP keyboard to input special symbols or international characters.
4. Tap “OK” to confirm the change.
To restore FaceBoard to its original settings, you can tap on the “Default” button
on the editing screen. (Fig. 11)

INTRODUCTION
Merci d’avoir choisi le clavier sans fil pour PDA. Désormais, si vous changez de PDA,
vous n’aurez plus besoin de changer de clavier. Grâce à la technologie infrarouge à
double faisceau pour communiquer avec le PDA, ce nouveau produit Belkin vous
permet de saisir des données sur votre PDA sans le relier physiquement au clavier.
Il fonctionne avec la plupart des terminaux de poche, notamment les PC de poche,

INSTALLATION DU LOGICIEL
Installation du clavier sur votre PC de poche
Avant d’installer le logiciel, veuillez noter les points suivants :
•
Assurez-vous que tout logiciel de clavier précédemment installé sur votre PC de
poche est désactivé.
• Votre PC de poche doit disposer d’au moins 1,2 Mo de mémoire libre.
• Nous vous conseillons de sauvegarder tous les fichiers présents sur le PC de
poche avant de commencer l’installation.
1. Fermez toutes les fenêtres actives sur le PC de poche.
2. Reliez le PC de poche à l’ordinateur de bureau et assurez-vous que Microsoft®
AcitveSync® est opérationnel.
3. Insérez le CD d’installation du clavier sans fil pour PDA dans le lecteur de CD-ROM
de l’ordinateur de bureau. Le programme d’installation démarre automatiquement.
(Si tel n’est pas le cas, cliquez sur « Démarrer », « Exécuter » et accédez au
lecteur de CD-ROM.)
4. Choisissez « Install the Pocket PC software » (Installer le logiciel du PC de
poche) dans la boîte de dialogue qui apparaît.
5. Le message « Ajout/Suppression de programmes » de Microsoft ActiveSync
apparaît.
6. Cliquez sur « Yes » (Oui) en réponse au message « Install Wireless PDA
Keyboard using the default application install directory? » (Voulez-vous installer
le clavier sans fil pour PDA en utilisant le répertoire d’installation par défaut de
l’application ?).
7. Cliquez sur « OK » en réponse au message « Application Downloading Complete »
(Téléchargement de l’application terminé).
8. Le logiciel du clavier sans fil pour PDA est correctement installé sur le PC de
poche. Vous pouvez maintenant débrancher le PC de poche de l’ordinateur de
bureau.
9. La page de configuration « Wireless PDA Keyboard » (Clavier sans fil pour PDA)
apparaît automatiquement sur le PC de poche.
10. L’indication « ON » (Activé) doit apparaître pour indiquer que la fonction de
clavier est activée (Fig. 1). Si le statut est « OFF » (Désactivé), cliquez sur le
bouton « Enable » (Activer) pour activer la fonction.

Remarque : Les utilisateurs de Pocket PC 2002 doivent désactiver le mode de

1. Sélectionnez « Start Menu » (Menu Démarrer), puis « Settings » (Paramètres).

Suppression du clavier de votre PC de poche
1. Fermez toutes les fenêtres actives sur le PC de poche.
2. Désactivez la fonction de rotation de l’écran en désélectionnant la case « Screen
Rotation » (Rotation de l’écran) de la page de configuration « Wireless PDA
Keyboard » (Clavier sans fil pour PDA). Ensuite, effectuez une réinitialisation
système du PC de poche comme indiqué dans le mode d’emploi de votre PDA.
3. Accédez à la page des paramètres « Remove Programs » (Suppression des
programmes) dans la partie « System » (Système) du menu « Settings »
(Paramètres).
4. Sélectionnez « Wireless PDA Keyboard » (Clavier sans fil pour PDA), puis
« Remove » (Supprimer).
5. Sélectionnez « Yes » (Oui) pour confirmer le message « Remove Program? »
(Supprimer le programme ?).
Remarque : À l’avenir, pour pouvoir utiliser le clavier sans fil pour PDA, vous devrez
réinstaller le logiciel.
Installation du clavier sous Palm OS
Avant d’installer le logiciel, veuillez noter les points suivants :
•
Assurez-vous que tout logiciel de clavier précédemment installé sur votre Palm
est désactivé.
• Votre Palm doit disposer d’au moins 180 Ko de mémoire libre.
• Nous vous conseillons de sauvegarder tous les fichiers présents sur le Palm
avant de commencer l’installation.
1. Insérez le CD d’installation du clavier sans fil pour PDA dans le lecteur de CD-ROM
de l’ordinateur de bureau. Le programme d’installation démarre automatiquement.
(Si tel n’est pas le cas, cliquez sur « Démarrer », « Exécuter » et accédez au
lecteur de CD-ROM.)
2. Choisissez « Install the Palm software » (Installer le logiciel du Palm) dans la
boîte de dialogue qui apparaît.
3. Une boîte de dialogue apparaît. Elle vous permet de choisir le périphérique à
installer. Vous devrez également choisir l’utilisateur approprié pour l’installation
du logiciel. Une fois ceci terminé, cliquez sur « OK ».

4. Fermez toutes les applications actives. Placez le Palm sur son support HotSync
et effectuez une opération HotSync. Le logiciel du clavier sans fil pour PDA est
ensuite installé sur le Palm.
5. Après l’opération HotSync, vous pouvez retirer le Palm du support.
6. Pour lancer la page de configuration « Wireless PDA Keyboard » (Clavier sans fil
pour PDA), sélectionnez l’icône « Wireless PDA Keyboard » (Clavier sans fil pour
PDA) du menu principal du terminal de poche Palm.
7. Un statut « ON » (Activé) signifie que la fonction de clavier est activée. Si le
statut est « OFF » (Désactivé), sélectionnez le bouton « Enable » (Activer) pour
activer la fonction (Fig. 3).

1. Réglez l’option « Screen Rotation » (Rotation de l’écran) sur 0º sur la page de
configuration « Wireless PDA Keyboard » (Clavier sans fil pour PDA).
2. Fermez toutes les applications actives sur votre Palm.
3. Ouvrez la barre de menus, puis choisissez « Delete » (Supprimer) dans
le sous-menu « App ».
4. Choisissez « Wireless PDA Keyboard » (Clavier sans fil pour PDA), puis
sélectionnez le bouton « Delete » (Supprimer) de la page « Delete »
(Supprimer).
5. Sélectionnez « Yes » (Oui) en réponse au message « Delete Application »
(Supprimer l’application) afin de confirmer la suppression du logiciel.
Remarque : À l’avenir, pour pouvoir utiliser le clavier sans fil pour PDA, vous devrez
réinstaller le logiciel.

UTILISATION DU CLAVIER
Configuration du clavier
1. Détachez le clavier du support.
2. Tenez le clavier et appuyez sur le bouton d’ouverture afin de l’ouvrir. Placez-le
ensuite sur une surface plane.
3. Installez la pile.
a) Ouvrez le compartiment de la pile situé dans la partie supérieure du clavier.
b) Insérez une pile de type AAA dans le compartiment. Notez l’orientation pour
un positionnement correct de la pile indiqué par les signes « + » et « – ».
c) Fermez le compartiment de la pile.
4. Sortez la partie métallique à l’arrière du support et posez-la sur une surface plane.
Tirez le réflecteur et retournez-le pour le positionner vers le port IR du PDA.
5. Placez le PDA sur le support avec le port IR en haut.

UTILISATION DU CLAVIER
Alignement du clavier
Le clavier détecte automatiquement les signaux IR du PDA. Appuyez sur les deux
touches « Maj » du clavier et recherchez le symbole dans la barre d’outils du
PDA. Il indique que la connexion est établie, que le clavier détecte les signaux
infrarouges qui proviennent du PDA et que vous êtes à une distance correcte pour
pouvoir taper au clavier. Si le symbole apparaît, faites glisser le clavier
verticalement et horizontalement afin de le placer dans la bonne position (Fig. 4).

Pour éviter d’appuyer sur une touche par erreur, placez le clavier hors de portée de
réception IR. Vous pouvez également éteindre le PDA avant de fermer le clavier.

SAISIE À L’AIDE DU CLAVIER
Lettres minuscules
Pour entrer des lettres minuscules à l’aide du clavier sans fil pour PDA, tapez-les
simplement comme vous le feriez sur un clavier d’ordinateur standard.
Lettres majuscules
Pour mettre une lettre en majuscule : appuyez sur la touche « Maj » tout en tapant
la lettre.
Pour mettre un bloc de lettres en majuscule : Appuyez sur la touche « Verr Maj » et
toutes les lettres que vous taperez seront en majuscule. Le symbole
apparaît
dans l’angle inférieur droit de l’écran du PDA.
Pour déverrouiller les majuscules, il vous suffit simplement d’appuyer à nouveau sur
la touche « Verr Maj ».
Saisie de chiffres et de symboles
Pour taper un symbole : Comme pour la majorité des claviers, votre clavier sans fil
pour PDA est équipé de symboles sur les majuscules des touches de chiffres.
Appuyez simultanément sur la touche « Maj » et sur le chiffre choisi pour taper le
symbole sur votre PDA.

CONFIGURATION DU LOGICIEL DU CLAVIER
Pour accéder à l’application du clavier, sélectionnez « Start », puis « Wireless PDA
Keyboard » (Clavier sans fil pour PDA) sur votre terminal de poche.
« Enable » (Activer) : permet au pilote du clavier sans fil pour PDA d’accepter la
saisie au niveau du clavier.
« Disable » (Désactiver) : désactive le pilote. N’oubliez pas de réactiver le clavier
avant la prochaine utilisation.
« Repeat Rate » (Fréquence de répétition) : permet de déterminer la fréquence
de répétition d’une touche lorsque vous la maintenez enfoncée.
« Delay Until Repeat »(Délai avant répétition) : permet de déterminer le délai
entre l’enfoncement d’une touche et sa répétition.
« Close Software Keyboard » (Fermer le logiciel du clavier) : uniquement pour
les utilisateurs de PC de poche. Un clavier apparaît à l’écran lorsque vous tapez sur
le clavier sans fil pour PDA. Choisissez « Yes » (Oui) pour désactiver cette fonction.
« Click Sound » (Son de frappe) : vous pouvez activer ou désactiver le son de
frappe des touches. Pour que cette caractéristique fonctionne correctement, vous
devez d’abord activer les sons de boutons sur le PDA.

Rotation de l’écran
Le port infrarouge de certains PDA est situé sur le côté. Vous devez donc faire
pivoter l’écran pour placer le PDA horizontalement sur son socle. Après avoir activé
la fonction de rotation d’écran, vous pouvez choisir de faire pivoter l’écran de 0º,
de 90º, de 180º ou de 270º.
Il vous suffit simplement de choisir les paramètres dans la page Configuration ou
d’utiliser Fn , puis Fn
sur le clavier pour faire pivoter l’écran.
Pour les utilisateurs de PC de poche : pendant la rotation à 90º ou à 270º, vous
pouvez vous servir des touches « ALT-Pg Préc » et « ALT-Pg Suiv » pour faire défiler
le contenu de l’écran vers le haut ou vers le bas.
Remarque : Vous devez effectuer un redémarrage à chaud du PC de poche pour activer
cette fonction. S’il ne fonctionne pas correctement après l’activation de la rotation
d’écran, effectuez un redémarrage à chaud du PC de poche pour rétablir le
fonctionnement normal.
Remarque : Il est possible que la fonction de rotation de l’écran ne soit pas
disponible sur tous les modèles de PDA. Visitez notre site Web à l’adresse
www.belkin.com pour obtenir la liste des modèles de PDA compatibles.
« Test Area » (Zone de test) : vous pouvez tester le clavier sans fil pour PDA en
entrant du texte dans cette zone.

Après avoir installé le logiciel du clavier sans fil pour PDA, il est exécuté
automatiquement. Vous pouvez alors utiliser le clavier à tout moment. Une fois

Affectation du programme de lancement rapide
Vous avez la possibilité de lancer rapidement différentes applications. Sélectionnez

simplicité le programme à lancer avec différentes combinaisons de touches

Bouton FaceBoard
Lorsque vous appuyez sur le bouton Fn :-), une fenêtre apparaît (Fig. 7). Elle
contient divers symboles et signes de ponctuation moins souvent utilisés ainsi que
des « smiley » pour vos messages électroniques. Pour choisir un symbole, vous
pouvez toucher le bouton à l’écran ou appuyer sur la touche correspondante
indiquée sous le bouton de l’écran.
Vous pouvez également utiliser un autre FaceBoard. Pour cela, activez le clavier SIP
à l’écran et choisissez FaceBoard comme méthode d’entrée (Fig. 8).

Personnalisation du FaceBoard
Vous pouvez personnaliser le FaceBoard avec toute combinaison de symboles ou de
chaînes.
Pour configurer le FaceBoard :
1. Sélectionnez l’onglet « Edit » (Modifier) de l’écran FaceBoard afin de faire
apparaître l’écran de modification (Fig. 9).
2. Sélectionnez la touche à redéfinir. Un écran de saisie apparaît alors (Fig. 10).
3. Entrez les caractères choisis ou les symboles dans la zone de modification. Vous
pouvez utiliser le clavier SIP à l’écran pour entrer des symboles spéciaux ou des
caractères internationaux.
4. Sélectionnez « OK » pour confirmer le changement.
Pour rétablir les paramètre d’origine du FaceBoard, sélectionnez le bouton « Default »
(Par défaut) de l’écran de modification (Fig. 11).

Innovation von Belkin kommuniziert über eine bidirektionale Infrarot-Verbindung
mit Ihrem PDA, so dass Sie ohne physische Tastaturverbindung Daten in Ihren PDA
eingeben können. Sie eignet sich für die meisten gängigen Handhelds wie Pocket
PC, Palm und Sony CLIÉ. Durch die Aktualisierung der Treiber kann sie auch an

SOFTWAREINSTALLATION
Installieren der Tastatur auf dem Pocket PC
Bitte beachten Sie vor der Installation der Software folgendes:
•
Jedwede Tastatursoftware, die bereits auf dem Pocket PC installiert ist, muss
deinstalliert werden.
• Mindestens 1,2 MB freier Speicher muss auf dem Pocket PC verfügbar sein.
• Es wird empfohlen, vor der Installation alle auf dem Pocket PC gespeicherten
Dateien zu sichern.
1. Schließen Sie auf dem Pocket PC alle aktiven Fenster.
2. Schließen Sie den Pocket PC an den Desktop PC an, und stellen Sie sicher, dass
Microsoft® ActiveSync® ausgeführt wird.
3. Legen Sie die Installations-CD für die drahtlose PDA-Tastatur in das CD-Laufwerk
des Desktop-Computers ein. Das Installationsprogramm wird automatisch
gestartet. (Klicken Sie ansonsten auf “Start” > “Ausführen”, und suchen Sie
nach dem CD-Laufwerk).
4. Wählen Sie im angezeigten Dialogfeld die Option “Install the Pocket PC
software” (Pocket PC-Software installieren).
5. In Microsoft ActiveSync wird das Fenster “Software” geöffnet.
6. Es enthält die Meldung “Install Wireless PDA Keyboard using the default
application install directory?” (Drahtlose PDA-Tastatur im
Standardinstallationsverzeichnis installieren?). Klicken Sie auf “Ja”.
7. Die Meldung “Application Downloading Complete” (Laden der Anwendung
beendet) erscheint. Klicken Sie auf “OK”.
8. Die Software für die drahtlose PDA-Tastatur wurde auf dem Pocket PC erfolgreich
installiert. Jetzt können Sie den Pocket PC vom Desktop-Computer trennen.
9. Auf dem Pocket PC wird automatisch die Konfigurationsseite “Wireless PDA
Keyboard” (Drahtlose PDA-Tastatur) geöffnet.
10. Als Status müsste “ON” angezeigt werden, d.h. dass die Tastaturfunktion
aktiviert ist (Abb. 1). Wird der Status “OFF” (Aus) angezeigt, klicken Sie auf die
Schaltfläche “Enable” (Aktivieren), um die Funktion zu aktivieren.

Hinweis: Unter Pocket PC 2002 muss der Infrarot-Empfangsmodus deaktiviert werden
wie im folgenden beschrieben.
1. Tippen Sie auf “Startmenü” und dann auf “Einstellungen”.
2. Tippen Sie auf “Verbindungen” > “Übertragen”.
3. Deaktivieren Sie die Option “Alle eingehenden Übertragungen empfangen und
Modus ‘Erkennbar’ auswählen”, und tippen Sie auf “OK” (Abb. 2).

Entfernen der Tastatur vom Pocket PC
1. Schließen Sie auf dem Pocket PC alle aktiven Fenster.
2. Deaktivieren Sie die Bildschirmdrehfunktion, indem Sie auf der
Konfigurationsseite “Wireless PDA Keyboard” (Drahtlose PDA-Tastatur) die
Option “Screen Rotation” (Bilddrehung) deaktivieren. Führen Sie dann einen

3. Wählen Sie im Menü “Einstellungen” im Abschnitt “System” die
Einstellungsseite “Software”.
4. Wählen Sie die Option “Wireless PDA Keyboard” (Drahtlose PDA-Tastatur), und
tippen Sie auf “Entfernen”.
5. Die Meldung “Programm entfernen?” erscheint. Klicken Sie auf “Ja”.
Hinweis: Wenn Sie die drahtlose PDA-Tastatur später wieder verwenden möchten,
müssen Sie die Software erneut installieren.
Installieren der Tastatur auf Palm Handhelds
Bitte beachten Sie vor der Installation der Software folgendes:

Jedwede Tastatursoftware, die bereits auf dem Palm Handheld installiert ist,
muss deinstalliert werden.
Mindestens 180 KB freier Speicher muss auf dem Palm Handheld verfügbar sein.
Wir empfehlen, vor der Installation alle Dateien auf Ihrem Palm Handheld zu sichern.
1. Legen Sie die Installations-CD für die drahtlose PDA-Tastatur in das CD-ROMLaufwerk des Desktop-Computers ein. Das Installationsprogramm wird
automatisch gestartet. (Klicken Sie ansonsten auf “Start” > “Ausführen”, und
suchen Sie nach dem CD-Laufwerk).
2. Wählen Sie im angezeigten Dialogfeld die Option “Install the Palm software”
(Palm-Software installieren).
3. Es erscheint ein Dialogfeld, in dem Sie das zu installierende Gerät auswählen
können. Sie müssen außerdem den jeweiligen Benutzer für die Installation der
Software auswählen. Klicken Sie danach auf “OK”.

4. Schließen Sie alle aktiven Anwendungen. Legen Sie Ihren Palm in die HotSyncHalterung ein, und führen Sie eine HotSync-Synchronisierung durch. Die
Software für die drahtlose PDA-Tastatur wird auf dem Palm installiert.
5. Nach der Synchronisierung können Sie den Palm wieder aus der Halterung nehmen.
6. Um die Konfigurationsseite “Wireless PDA Keyboard” (Drahtlose PDA-Tastatur) zu
starten, tippen Sie im Hauptmenü Ihres Handhelds auf das Symbol “Wireless
PDA Keyboard” (Drahtlose PDA-Tastatur).
7. Der Status “ON” bedeutet, dass die Tastaturfunktion aktiviert ist. Wenn der
Status “OFF” angezeigt wird, tippen Sie auf die Schaltfläche “Enable”
(Aktivieren), um die Funktion zu aktivieren. (Abb. 3)

Entfernen der Tastatur von Palm Handhelds
1. Stellen Sie auf der Konfigurationsseite “Wireless PDA Keyboard” (Drahtlose PDATastatur) die Option “Screen Rotation” (Bilddrehung) auf 0º ein.
2. Schließen Sie auf dem Palm Handheld alle aktiven Anwendungen.
3. Öffnen Sie die Menüleiste, und wählen Sie im Untermenü “App” die Option
“Delete” (Löschen).
4. Wählen Sie die Option “Wireless PDA Keyboard” (Drahtlose PDA-Tastatur), und
tippen Sie auf der Seite “Delete” (Löschen) auf die Schaltfläche “Delete”
(Löschen).
5. Tippen Sie im Dialogfeld “Delete Application” (Anwendung löschen) auf “Yes”
(Ja), um die Deinstallation zu bestätigen.
Hinweis: Wenn Sie die drahtlose PDA-Tastatur später wieder verwenden möchten,
müssen Sie die Software erneut installieren.

VERWENDEN DER TASTATUR
Einrichten der Tastatur
1. Nehmen Sie die Tastatur aus der Standhülle.
2. Öffnen Sie die Tastatur mit der Auslösetaste. Halten Sie die Tastatur dabei fest.
Legen Sie sie dann auf eine ebene Fläche.
3. Legen Sie die Batterie ein.
a) Öffnen Sie das Batteriefach oben an der Tastatur.
b) Legen Sie eine Mikrozelle (Batterie des Typs “AAA”) in das Batteriefach ein.
Achten Sie dabei auf korrekte Polarität (+ und – beachten).
c) Schließen Sie das Batteriefach.
4. Ziehen Sie die Metallschiebstütze aus der Ständerrückseite, und legen Sie sie
auf einer ebenen Fläche ab. Ziehen Sie den Spiegel heraus, und kippen Sie ihn,
um ihn auf die Infrarotschnittstelle Ihres PDAs auszurichten.
5. Setzen Sie den PDA so auf den Ständer, dass die Infrarotschnittstelle nach
oben zeigt.

VERWENDEN DER TASTATUR
Ausrichten der Tastatur
Die Tastatur empfängt automatisch Infrarotsignale aus dem PDA. Drücken Sie die
beiden Umschalttasten (“Shift”) auf der Tastatur, und überprüfen Sie, ob neben der
PDA-Symbolleiste das Symbol angezeigt wird. Es zeigt an, dass die Verbindung
hergestellt ist, dass die Tastatur Infrarotsignale vom PDA empfängt und dass Sie
sich innerhalb der erforderlichen Reichweite für Tastatureingaben befinden.
Erscheint das Symbol nicht, verschieben Sie die Tastatur in horizontaler und
vertikaler Richtung, um die richtige Position zu ermitteln. (Abb. 4)

Um unerwünschte Tastatureingaben zu vermeiden, sollten Sie die Tastatur aus der
Reichweite der Infrarotverbindung nehmen oder den PDA abschalten, bevor Sie die
Tastatur schließen.

Eingabe mit der Tastatur
Eingeben von Kleinbuchstaben
Kleinbuchstaben werden mit der drahtlosen PDA-Tastatur auf die gleiche Weise wie
mit der gewohnten standardmäßigen Computertastatur eingegeben.
Eingeben von Großbuchstaben
Eingabe von einem Großbuchstaben: Halten Sie die Umschalttaste (“Shift”)
gedrückt, und drücken Sie die gewünschte Buchstabentaste.
Eingabe von mehreren Großbuchstaben: Drücken Sie die Feststelltaste (“Caps
Lock”), und drücken Sie dann die betreffenden Buchstabentasten. Das Symbol
erscheint unten rechts auf dem PDA-Display.
Um die Feststelltaste zu lösen, drücken Sie sie abermals.
Eingeben von Ziffern und Symbolen
Eingabe von Symbolen: Wie bei den meisten Tastaturen befinden sich auf den
Zifferntasten viele gängige Symbole, die Sie mit der Umschalttaste (“Shift”)
eingeben können. Halten Sie die Umschalttaste gedrückt, und drücken Sie die Taste
mit dem gewünschten Symbol.

Um auf die Tastaturanwendung zuzugreifen, tippen Sie auf Ihrem Handheld auf
“Start”, dann auf “Wireless PDA Keyboard” (Drahtlose PDA-Tastatur).
Enable (Aktivieren): veranlasst den PDA-Tastaturtreiber, Tasteneingaben
anzunehmen.
Disable (Deaktivieren): Schaltet den Treiber ab. Denken Sie daran, die Tastatur
vor dem nächsten Gebrauch wieder zu aktivieren.
Repeat Rate (Wiederholungsrate): legt fest, wie schnell die Tasteneingabe
wiederholt wird, wenn Sie eine Taste gedrückt halten.
Delay Until Repeat (Verzögerung): Bestimmt, wie schnell die Wiederholung der
Tasteneingabe beginnt, wenn Sie eine Taste gedrückt halten.
Close Software Keyboard (Softwaretastatur schließen; nur für Pocket PC):
Bei der Eingabe mit der drahtlosen PDA-Tastatur wird im Display eine Tastatur
angezeigt. Wählen Sie “Yes” (Ja), um diese Funktion zu deaktivieren.
Click Sound (Klackgeräusch): Sie können das Tastenklackgeräusch wahlweise
aktivieren oder deaktivieren. Damit diese Funktion genutzt werden kann, müssen
Sie auch die Hardware-Tastengeräusche im PDA aktivieren.

Screen Rotation (Bilddrehung)
Bei manchen PDAs sitzt die Infrarotschnittstelle an der Seite des Gehäuses, so dass
Sie die Display-Anzeige drehen müssen, um den PDA seitlich auf den Ständer zu
setzen. Wenn Sie die Bilddrehung aktiviert haben, können Sie zwischen den
Drehwinkeln 0°, 90°, 180° und 270° wählen.
Sie können die Einstellungen wahlweise auf der Konfigurationsseite festlegen oder
das Bild mit der Tastenfolge Fn , Fn
auf der Tastatur drehen.
Auf dem Pocket PC können Sie das Bild bei einer Drehung von 90 oder 270° mit
den Tastenkombinationen “ALT-PgUp” und “ALT-PgDn” nach oben bzw. unten
abrollen.
Hinweis: Zur Aktivierung dieser Funktion auf dem Pocket PC müssen Sie einen
Warmstart durchführen. Wenn der Pocket PC nach der Aktivierung der Bilddrehung
nicht ordnungsgemäß funktioniert, führen Sie einen Warmstart durch, um den Pocket
PC wieder in den Normalbetrieb zurückzuversetzen.
Hinweis: Die Bilddrehungsfunktion ist möglicherweise nicht auf allen PDA-Modellen
verfügbar. Die jeweils aktuelle Liste der kompatiblen PDAs finden Sie auf unserer
Website unter www.belkin.com.
Test Area (Testfeld): Sie können Ihre drahtlose PDA-Tastatur testen, indem Sie

Zuweisungsseite für Anwendungen zu öffnen. Hier können Sie festlegen, welche
Programme mit den verschiedenen Tastenkombinationen gestartet wird. (Abb. 5 und 6)

Die Taste “FaceBoard”
Durch Drücken der Taste Fn :-) wird ein Fenster geöffnet (Abb. 7), das
verschiedene, eher selten gebrauchte Symbole und Satzzeichen enthält, aber auch
Smileys, mit denen Sie Ihre E-Mails ausschmücken können. Sie wählen ein Symbol
aus, indem Sie entweder die Schaltfläche im Display oder die entsprechende Taste
auf der Tastatur drücken, die unter der Schaltfläche angegeben ist.
Sie können einen alternatives FaceBoard verwenden, indem Sie die SIPBildschirmtastatur aktivieren und dann das FaceBoard als Eingabemethode
auswählen. (Abb. 8)

Anpassen des FaceBoards
Sie können im FaceBoard beliebige Symbol- oder Tastenkombinationen einstellen.
So konfigurieren Sie das FaceBoard:
1. Tippen Sie im FaceBoard-Fenster auf die Registerkarte “Edit” (Bearbeiten),
um das Bearbeitungsfenster zu öffnen. (Abb. 9)
2. Tippen Sie auf die Taste, die Sie neu definieren möchten. Daraufhin erscheint
ein Eingabefenster. (Abb. 10)
3. Geben Sie die gewünschten Zeichen oder Symbole in das Eingabefeld ein.
Mit der angezeigten SIP-Tastatur können Sie Sonderzeichen, Akzentzeichen
und Umlaute eingeben.
4. Tippen Sie auf “OK”, um die Änderung zu bestätigen.
Mit der Schaltfläche “Default” (Standard) im Bearbeitungsfenster können Sie die
ursprünglichen Einstellungen des FaceBoards wiederherstellen. (Abb. 11)

INLEIDING
Gefeliciteerd met uw aankoop van dit draadloze pda-toetsenbord. Als u voortaan uw
pda vervangt, hoeft u geen ander toetsenbord meer aan te schaffen. Dit nieuwe
ontwerp van Belkin gebruikt tweestraals infraroodtechniek om met uw pda te
communiceren. Hierdoor kunt u data in uw pda invoeren zonder dat deze fysiek met

Let op het volgende voordat u de software installeert:

Zorg dat eventueel eerder op uw Pocket PC geïnstalleerde toetsenbordsoftware
uitgeschakeld is.
Uw Pocket PC moet over ten minste 1,2 MB vrij geheugen beschikken.
Maak vóór de installatie een reservekopie van alle bestanden in uw Pocket PC.
1. Sluit alle actieve vensters van uw Pocket PC.
2. Sluit uw Pocket PC aan op uw desktopcomputer en zorg dat Microsoft®
ActiveSync® actief is.
3. Plaats de installatie-cd voor het draadloze pda toetsenbord in het optisch
station van uw desktopcomputer. Het installatieprogramma start automatisch.
(Zo niet, klik dan op ‘Start’, ‘Run’ (Uitvoeren) en zoek uw optisch station op.)
4. Kies in het installatiedialoogvenster dat verschijnt ‘Install the Pocket PC
software’ (Pocket PC software installeren).
5. Microsoft ActiveSync meldt nu ‘Add/Remove Programs’ (Programma’s

6. Als antwoord op het bericht ‘Install Wireless PDA Keyboard using the default
application install directory?’ (Draadloos pda-toetsenbord installeren met
behulp van standaard applicatie-installatiedirectory?) klikt u op ‘Yes’ (Ja).
7. Als antwoord op het bericht ‘Application Downloading Complete’ (Downloaden
van applicatie voltooid) klikt u op ‘OK’.
8. De software voor het draadloze pda-toetsenbord is nu geïnstalleerd op uw
Pocket PC. U kunt uw Pocket PC nu losmaken van uw desktopcomputer.
9. Op de Pocket PC start nu automatisch de configuratiepagina ‘Wireless PDA
Keyboard’ (Draadloos pda-toetsenbord).
10. De statusindicatie ‘ON’ (Aan) moet nu te zien zijn. Dit betekent dat de
toetsenbordfunctie ingeschakeld is (afb. 1, pag. 4). Als de statusindicatie ‘OFF’
(Uit) aangeeft, klik dan op de knop ‘Enable’ (Inschakelen) om de functie te
activeren.

Let op: Als u een Pocket PC 2002 gebruikt, moet u nu de infraroodontvanger als volgt
uitschakelen.
1. Tik op ‘Start Menu’ en tik vervolgens op ‘Settings’ (Instellingen).
2. Tik op ‘Connections’ (Verbindingen) en vervolgens op ‘Beam’ (Straal).
3. Schakel het vakje ‘Receive all incoming beams and select discoverable mode’
(Ontvang alle binnenkomende stralenbundels en selecteer de geschikte modus)

Toetsenbord van uw Pocket PC verwijderen
1. Sluit alle actieve vensters van uw Pocket PC.
2. Schakel de schermrotatiefunctie uit door het vakje naast de optie ‘Screen
Rotation’ (Schermrotatie) op het configuratietabblad ‘Wireless PDA Keyboard’
(Draadloos pda-toetsenbord) leeg te maken. Voer vervolgens een soft-reset uit
op de Pocket PC zoals aangegeven in de handleiding van uw pda.
3. Ga naar de instellingenpagina ‘Remove Programs’ (Programma’s verwijderen)
onder de paragraaf ‘System’ (Systeem) in het menu ‘Settings’ (Instellingen).
4. Selecteer ‘Wireless PDA Keyboard’ (Draadloos pda-toetsenbord) en tik op
‘Remove’ (Verwijderen).
5. Wanneer het bericht ‘Remove Program?’ (Programma verwijderen?) verschijnt,
tikt u als bevestiging op ‘Yes’ (Ja).
Let op: Om het draadloze pda-toetsenbord in de toekomst te gebruiken, moet u de
software opnieuw installeren.
Toetsenbord op Palm OS installeren
Let op het volgende voordat u de software installeert:

Zorg dat eventueel eerder op uw Palm geïnstalleerde toetsenbordsoftware
uitgeschakeld is.
Uw Palm moet over ten minste 180 KB vrij geheugen beschikken.
Maak vóór de installatie een reservekopie van alle bestanden op uw Palm.
1. Plaats de installatie-cd voor het draadloze pda toetsenbord in het optisch
station van uw desktopcomputer. Het installatieprogramma start automatisch.
(Zo niet, klik dan op ‘Start’, ‘Run’ (Uitvoeren) en zoek uw optisch station op.)
2. Kies in het installatiedialoogvenster dat verschijnt ‘Install the Palm software’
(Palm software installeren).
3. Er verschijnt een dialoogvenster waarin u het apparaat kunt kiezen dat u wilt
installeren. Om de software te installeren moet u ook de gebruiker ervan kiezen.
Hierna klikt u op ‘OK’.

4. Sluit alle actieve toepassingen. Plaats uw Palm op uw HotSync slede en voer
een hotsync-bewerking uit. De software voor het draadloze pda-toetsenbord
wordt vervolgens op uw Palm geïnstalleerd.
5. Na de HotSync bewerking kunt u uw Palm weer uit de slede nemen.
6. Om de configuratiepagina ‘Wireless PDA Keyboard’ (Draadloos pda-toetsenbord)
te starten, tikt u op het pictogram ‘Wireless PDA Keyboard’ in het hoofdmenu
van uw Palm handheld.
7. De status ‘ON’ (Aan) betekent dat de toetsenbordfunctie ingeschakeld is. Als de
status ‘OFF’ (Uit) aangeeft, tik dan op de knop ‘Enable’ (Inschakelen) om de
functie in te schakelen. (Afb. 3)

1. Op de configuratiepagina ‘Wireless PDA Keyboard’ (Draadloos pda-toetsenbord)
stelt u de schermrotatie in op 0º.
2. Sluit alle actieve toepassingen op uw Palm apparaat.
3. Open de menubalk en kies dan ‘Delete’ (Wissen) in het submenu ‘App’.
4. Kies ‘Wireless PDA Keyboard’ en tik dan op het tabblad ‘Delete’ (Wissen) op de
knop ‘Delete’.
5. Tik op ‘Yes’ (Ja) als antwoord op het dialoogvenster ‘Delete Application’
(Toepassing verwijderen) om het verwijderen van de software te bevestigen.
Let op: Om het draadloze pda-toetsenbord in de toekomst te kunnen gebruiken, moet
u de software opnieuw installeren.

TOETSENBORD GEBRUIKEN
Toetsenbord instellen
1. Neem het toetsenbord uit de standaardhouder.
2. Neem het toetsenbord in de hand en druk op de vrijgaveknop om het te
openen. Plaats het vervolgens op een vlakke ondergrond.
3. Breng de batterij op zijn plaats aan.
a) Open het batterijvakje aan de bovenzijde van het toetsenbord.
b) Doe een AAA-batterij in het batterijvakje en wel in de juiste stand
aangegeven door de tekens ‘+’ en ‘-’.
c) Sluit het batterijvakje.
4. Trek de metalen steundraad aan de achterzijde van de standaard uit en plaats
deze op een vlakke ondergrond. Trek de reflector uit en kantel deze zo dat hij
op de infraroodpoort van uw pda gericht is.
5. Plaats uw pda op de standaard met de infraroodpoort boven.

TOETSENBORD GEBRUIKEN
Toetsenbord afstellen
Het toetsenbord detecteert automatisch het infraroodsignaal dat door de pda wordt
uitgestraald. Druk de twee ‘Shift’ toetsen op het toetsenbord in en let op het
symbool dat op de werkbalk van de pda verschijnt. Dit betekent dat de verbinding
tot stand is gekomen, dat het toetsenbord het infraroodsignaal van de pda herkent
en dat u zich op de juiste afstand bevindt om te typen. Als het symbool niet
verschijnt, schuif het toetsenbord dan verticaal en horizontaal op en neer om de
juiste plaats vinden. (Afb. 4)

Toetsenbord sluiten
Plaats het toetsenbord buiten het gebied voor infraroodontvangst of schakel de pda
uit voordat u het toetsenbord sluit om verkeerde toetsaanslagen te vermijden.

MET HET TOETSENBORD WERKEN
Kleine letters typen
U typt kleine letters met uw draadloze pda-toetsenbord op dezelfde wijze als met
een normaal computertoetsenbord.
Hoofdletters typen
Eén letter als hoofdletter typen: Druk op de ‘Shift’ toets terwijl u de letter typt.
Hele woorden of zinnen in hoofdletters typen: Druk op ‘Caps Lock’ en alle letters
die u typt verschijnen als hoofdlertters. Het symbool
verschijnt rechts onderin
het scherm van uw pda.
Om ‘Caps Lock’ op te heffen, drukt u eenvoudig nogmaals op ‘Caps Lock’.
Cijfers en symbolen typen
Symbolen typen: Zoals bij de meeste toetsenborden staan veel gebruikte symbolen
bij uw draadloze pda toetsenbord aan de bovenzijde van de cijfertoetsen. Terwijl u
de ‘Shift’ toets ingedrukt houdt, drukt u op de cijfertoets met het gewenste
symbool.

TOETSENBORDSOFTWARE CONFIGUREREN
Om de toetsenbordapplicatie te openen, tikt op uw handheld apparaat op ‘Start’ en
dan op ‘Wireless PDA Keyboard’ (Draadloos pda-toetsenbord).
‘Enable’ (Inschakelen) – Hierdoor kan de driver van het draadloze pda-toetsenbord
de via de toetsen ingevoerde informatie accepteren.
‘Disable’ (Uitschakelen) – Hierdoor wordt de driver uitgeschakeld. Zorg dat u het
toetsenbord weer inschakelt voordat u het de volgende maal gebruikt.
‘Repeat Rate’ (Herhalingsfrequentie) – Deze functie bepaalt de
herhalingsfrequentie van een toets als u deze ingedrukt houdt.
‘Delay Until Repeat’ (Vertraging tot aan herhaling) – Dit bepaalt de vertraging
vanaf het moment dat u een toets indrukt tot aan de start van het herhalen.
‘Close Software Keyboard’ (Softwaretoetsenbord sluiten) (alleen voor Pocket
PC-gebruikers) – Terwijl u op het draadloze pda-toetsenbord typt, verschijnt een
toetsenbord op het beeldscherm van uw handheld. Kies ‘Yes’ (Ja) om deze functie
uit te schakelen.
‘Click Sound’ (Klikgeluid) – U kunt het klikgeluid van de toetsen in- of
uitschakelen. Om deze functie correct te laten werken, moet u eerst de knoppen
voor geluidsweergave van uw pda inschakelen.

TOETSENBORDSOFTWARE CONFIGUREREN
Schermrotatie
Bij sommige pda’s zit de infraroodpoort aan de zijkant zodat u uw scherm moet
draaien om uw pda op de standaard in zijwaartse stand te plaatsen. Nadat u de
functie voor schermrotatie hebt ingeschakeld, kunt u het scherm naar keus 0º, 90º,
180º of 270º draaien.
U kunt eenvoudig de instellingen op uw configuratietabblad kiezen of de functie
Fn , Fn
op het toetsenbord gebruiken om het scherm te roteren.
De Pocket PC-gebruiker kan tijdens de status van 90º of 270º rotatie de toetsen
‘Alt-PgUp’ en ‘Alt-PgDn’ gebruiken voor het op en neer schuiven.
Let op: Om deze functie in te schakelen, moet u uw Pocket-PC eerst soft-resetten.
Als de Pocket-PC na inschakeling van schermrotatie niet correct functioneert, moet
u uw Pocket PC soft-resetten om terug te keren naar de normale werking.
Let op: De functie voor schermrotatie is mogelijk niet op alle pda-modellen
beschikbaar. Zie voor de nieuwste opgave van compatibele pda’s onze website op

Nadat u de software voor het draadloze pda-toetsenbord hebt geïnstalleerd, wordt
de software automatisch uitgevoerd en kunt u het toetsenbord op elk moment
gebruiken. Nadat de installatie is voltooid, richt u eenvoudig de infraroodpoort van
uw Pocket PC op de infraroodpoort van het toetsenbord en kunt u gaan typen.

FaceBoard knop
Wanneer u de knop Fn:-) indrukt, verschijnt in de voorgrond een venster (afb. 7)
met een aantal minder vaak gebruikte symbolen en interpunctietekens evenals de
populaire ‘smiley’ figuurtjes voor uw e-mail. Om een symbool te selecteren kunt u
naar keus de knop op het beeldscherm aantikken of op de corresponderende toets
drukken die onder de knop op het scherm zichtbaar is.
U kunt ook een alternatief FaceBoard gebruiken door het SIP toetsenbord op het
beeldscherm te activeren en dan FaceBoard als invoermethode te kiezen. (Afb. 8)

FaceBoard aanpassen
U kunt het FaceBoard naar eigen inzicht aanpassen met willekeurige combinaties
van tekens of toetscombinaties.
FaceBoard configureren:
1. Tik op het tabblad ‘Edit’ (Bewerken) in het FaceBoard scherm om het
bewerkingsscherm zichtbaar te maken. (Afb. 9)
2. Tik op de toets die u opnieuw wilt definiëren waarna een invoerscherm
verschijnt. (Afb. 10)
3. Typ de gewenste tekens of symbolen in het bewerkingsvak. U kunt het SIP
toetsenbord op het scherm gebruiken om speciale symbolen of internationale
tekens in te voeren.
4. Tik op ‘OK’ om de wijziging te bevestigen.
Met een tik op de knop ‘Default’ (Standaard) in het bewerkingsscherm herstelt u de
oorspronkelijke instellingen van het FaceBoard. (Afb. 11)

7. Haga clic en “OK” (Aceptar) como respuesta al mensaje “Application
Downloading Complete” (Descarga de la aplicación completa).
8. El software del Teclado Inalámbrico para PDA ha sido instalado correctamente
en su Pocket PC. Puede desconectar su Pocket PC del ordenador de sobremesa
en este momento.
9. La página de Configuración del “Wireless PDA Keyboard” (Teclado Inalámbrico
para PDA) se abrirá automáticamente en el Pocket PC.
10. Deberá ver la indicación de estado “ON” (Encendido) que significa que está
activado el funcionamiento del teclado (Fig. 1). Si el estado es “OFF”
(Apagado), haga clic en el botón “Enable” (Activar) para encender la función.

Atención: Los usuarios de Pocket PC 2002 deberán desactivar el modo de recepción de
rayos en base a los siguientes pasos.
1. Pinche en “Start Menu” (Menú de inicio) y después en “Settings” (Ajustes).

3. Elimine la marca del recuadro “Receive all incoming beams and select

Extracción del Teclado de su Pocket PC
1. Cierre todas las ventanas activas en su Pocket PC.
2. Desactive la función de rotación de la pantalla eliminando la marca del
recuadro situado junto a la opción “Screen Rotation” (Rotación de la pantalla)
en la página de Configuración del “Wireless PDA Keyboard” (Teclado Inalámbrico
para PDA). A continuación, lleve a cabo una acción de reinicio del Pocket PC de
la forma descrita en el manual del usuario de su PDA.
3. Vaya a la página de ajustes “Remove Programs” (Eliminar programas) en la
sección “System” (Sistema) del menú “Settings” (Ajustes).
4. Seleccione “Wireless PDA Keyboard” (Teclado Inalámbrico para PDA) y después
pinche en “Remove” (Eliminar).
5. Pinche en “Yes” (Sí) para confirmar cuando aparezca el mensaje “Remove
Program?” (¿Eliminar programa?).
Atención: Para poder emplear el Teclado Inalámbrico para PDA en el futuro, deberá
volver a instalar el software.
Instalación del Teclado en el sistema operativo Palm
Antes de instalar el software, tenga en cuenta lo siguiente:

Deberá asegurarse de haber desactivado cualquier software de teclado
previamente instalado en su Palm.

va a ser instalado. Asimismo, deberá seleccionar el usuario apropiado para la

4. Cierre todas las aplicaciones activas. Coloque su Palm en la base de su HotSync
y lleve a cabo una operación de HotSync. El software del Teclado Inalámbrico
para PDA se encontrará entonces instalado en su Palm.
5. Después de la operación de HotSync, podrá extraer su Palm de la base.
6. Para arrancar la página de Configuración del “Wireless PDA Keyboard” (Teclado
Inalámbrico para PDA), pinche en el icono “Wireless PDA Keyboard” (Teclado
Inalámbrico para PDA) del menú principal de su dispositivo de mano Palm.
7. En estado “ON” (Encendido) significa que está activado el funcionamiento del
teclado. Si el estado es “OFF” (Apagado), pinche en el botón “Enable” (Activar)
y entonces se activará el funcionamiento. (Fig. 3)

1. Establezca la “Screen Rotation” (Rotación de la pantalla) en 0º en la página de
Configuración del “Wireless PDA Keyboard” (Teclado Inalámbrico para PDA).
2. Cierre todas las aplicaciones activas en su dispositivo Palm.
3. Abra la barra de menú y seleccione “Delete” (Borrar) en el submenú “App”
(Aplicaciones).
4. Seleccione “Wireless PDA Keyboard” (Teclado Inalámbrico para PDA) y después
pinche sobre el botón “Delete” (Borrar) de la página “Delete” (Borrar).
5. Pinche en “Yes” (Sí) como respuesta al cuadro de diálogo “Delete Application”
(Borrar aplicación) para confirmar la eliminación del software.
Atención: Para poder emplear el Teclado Inalámbrico para PDA en el futuro, deberá
volver a instalar el software.

UTILIZACIÓN DEL TECLADO
Instalación del Teclado
1. Extraiga el teclado de la cubierta de soporte.
2. Sostenga el teclado y pulse el botón de activación para abrirlo. Después
coloque el teclado sobre una superficie plana.
3. Instale la batería.
a) Abra el compartimento de la batería situado en la parte superior del teclado.
b) Inserte una batería AAA en el compartimento de la batería; tenga en cuenta
la correcta colocación de la misma, indicada por los signos “+” y “–”.
c) Cierre el compartimento de la batería.
4. Extraiga el alambre metálico de apoyo de la parte posterior del soporte y
colóquelo en una superficie plana. Extraiga y pliegue el reflector hacia el
puerto de IR de su PDA.
5. Coloque su PDA en el soporte con su puerto de IR en la parte de arriba.

UTILIZACIÓN DEL TECLADO
Alineación del Teclado
El teclado detecta de forma automática las señales de IR procedentes del PDA.
Pulse las dos teclas “Shift” del teclado y busque el símbolo que aparece en la
barra de herramientas del PDA. Esto indicará que la conexión ha sido realizada, que
el teclado detecta las señales de infrarrojos del PDA, y que usted se encuentra a la
distancia correcta para la introducción de datos. En caso de que el símbolo no
aparezca, desplace el teclado de manera horizontal y vertical hasta colocarlo en la
posición correcta. (Fig. 4)

Para evitar la introducción de datos errónea, asegúrese de colocar el teclado fuera
de la distancia de recepción de IR; o apague el PDA antes de cerrar el teclado.

INTRODUCIR DATOS CON EL TECLADO
Introducir datos en letra minúscula
Para introducir letras minúsculas con su Teclado Inalámbrico para PDA, simplemente
deberá introducirlas como lo haría con un teclado de ordenador estándar.
Introducir datos en letra mayúscula
Para introducir una letra en mayúsculas: Mantenga pulsada la tecla “Shift” mientras
introduce la letra.
Para introducir en mayúsculas un bloque de letras: Pulse el botón “Caps Lock”
(Bloquear mayúsculas) y aparecerán en mayúsculas todas las letras que introduzca.
El símbolo
aparecerá en la esquina inferior derecha de la pantalla de su PDA.
Para desactivar “Caps Lock”, simplemente deberá pulsar dicha tecla “Caps Lock” de
nuevo.
Introducción de números y símbolos
Para introducir un símbolo: como en la mayoría de los teclados, su Teclado
Inalámbrico para PDA incorpora muchos símbolos comunes en la opción de
mayúsculas de las teclas de números. Pulse la tecla “Shift” y el número
correspondiente de forma simultánea para introducir el símbolo en su PDA.

CONFIGURACIÓN DEL SOFTWARE DEL TECLADO
Para acceder a la aplicación del teclado, pinche en “Start” (Inicio) y después en
“Wireless PDA Keyboard” (Teclado Inalámbrico para PDA) en su dispositivo de
mano.
“Enable” (Activar) – Esta opción permitirá al controlador del Teclado Inalámbrico
para PDA aceptar las entradas mediante el teclado.
“Disable” (Desactivar) – Esta opción apagará el controlador. Recuerde activar de
nuevo el teclado antes de su siguiente uso.
“Repeat Rate” (Velocidad de repetición) – Esta opción determinará la frecuencia
de repetición de una tecla cuando la pulsa continuamente.
“Delay Until Repeat” (Demora hasta la repetición) – Esta opción determinará la
demora desde el pulsado de una tecla hasta la repetición de la misma.
“Close Software Keyboard” [Cerrar el software del teclado] (sólo para usuarios
de Pocket PC) – Aparecerá un teclado en pantalla mientras introduce datos a
través de su Teclado Inalámbrico para PDA. Seleccione “Yes” (Sí) para desactivar
esta propiedad.
“Click Sound” (Sonido de clic) – Puede activar o desactivar el sonido de clic de
sus teclas. Para que esta función se desarrolle correctamente, deberá encender
primero el sonido de los botones de hardware en su PDA.

Rotación de la pantalla
Algunos PDA incorporan el puerto de infrarrojos en el lateral, de forma que usted
debe girar la pantalla para colocar su PDA de lado en el soporte. Después de activar
la función de rotación de la pantalla (“Screen Rotation”), podrá seleccionar la
rotación de la pantalla en 0º, 90º, 180º o 270º.
Puede seleccionar los ajustes en su página de Configuración o puede utilizar Fn
Fn
del teclado para hacer girar la pantalla.
Los usuarios de Pocket PC, durante el estado de rotación de 90º o 270º, pueden
utilizar las teclas “ALT-PgUp” y “ALT-PgDn” para desplazarse hacia arriba y hacia
abajo.
Atención: Deberá llevar a cabo una acción de reinicio de su Pocket PC para activar
esta función. Si el Pocket PC no funciona correctamente después de activar la
rotación de la pantalla, lleve a cabo una acción de reinicio de su Pocket PC para
devolverlo al estado normal de funcionamiento.
Atención: Es posible que la función de rotación de la pantalla no se encuentre

El botón FaceBoard
Al pulsar el botón Fn :-) se abrirá una ventana (Fig. 7) que contiene diferentes
símbolos y marcas de puntuación utilizados menos habitualmente, así como los
populares símbolos gestuales para su e-mail. Para seleccionar un símbolo, podrá
tocar el botón que aparece en la propia pantalla o pulsar la tecla correspondiente
mostrada debajo del botón de pantalla.
Asimismo, podrá emplear un FaceBoard Alternativo activando el teclado SIP en
pantalla y seleccionando después FaceBoard como método de introducción de
datos. (Fig. 8)

Personalización del FaceBoard
Es posible personalizar el FaceBoard con distintas combinaciones de símbolos o
secuencias de teclas.
Para configurar el FaceBoard:
1. Pinche en la pestaña “Edit” (Editar) de la pantalla FaceBoard para abrir la
pantalla de edición. (Fig. 9)
2. Pinche sobre la tecla que desee redefinir y parecerá una pantalla de
introducción. (Fig. 10)
3. Introduzca los caracteres o símbolos deseados en el recuadro de edición. Puede
utilizar el teclado SIP en pantalla para introducir símbolos especiales o
caracteres internacionales.
4. Pinche en “OK” (Aceptar) para confirmar el cambio.
Para restablecer los ajustes originales del FaceBoard, puede seleccionar el botón
“Default” (Por defecto) de la pantalla de edición. (Fig. 11)

INSTALLAZIONE DEL SOFTWARE
Installazione della tastiera nel Pocket PC
Prima di installare il software, osservare le seguenti indicazioni:
•
Accertarsi che eventuali software per tastiera precedentemente installati nel
Pocket PC siano stati disabilitati.
• Nel Pocket PC devono essere previsti almeno 1,2 MB di memoria disponibile.
• E’ consigliabile eseguire una copia di backup di tutti i file presenti nel Pocket
PC prima di procedere con l’installazione.
1. Chiudere tutte le finestre attive del Pocket PC.
2. Collegare il Pocket PC al computer desktop ed accertarsi che Microsoft®
AcitveSync® sia operativo.
3. Inserire il CD di installazione della tastiera wireless per PDA nell’apposito drive
del proprio computer desktop, il programma di installazione viene lanciato
automaticamente. (In caso contrario, fare clic su “Start”, “Run” (Esegui) e
digitare il percorso del drive del CD-ROM.)
4. Scegliere l’opzione “Install the Pocket PC software” (Installa il software per il
Pocket PC) nella finestra di dialogo di installazione che appare.
5. Compare il messaggio “Add/Remove Programs” (Aggiungi / Elimina Programmi)
di Microsoft ActiveSync.
6. Fare clic su “Yes” (Sì) in risposta al messaggio “Install Wireless PDA Keyboard
using the default application install directory?” (Installare la tastiera wireless
utilizzando l’applicazione predefinita?)
7. Fare clic su “OK” in risposta al messaggio “Application Downloading Complete”
(Scaricamento applicazione terminato).
8. Il software della tastiera wireless per PDA è stato installato nel Pocket PC. Il
Pocket PC può essere scollegato dal computer desktop.
9. La pagina di configurazione della “Wireless PDA Keyboard” (Tastiera wireless per
PDA) viene avviata automaticamente nel Pocket PC.
10. L’indicazione di stato dovrebbe essere “ON”, a segnalare che la tastiera è attiva
(Fig. 1). Se lo stato fosse “OFF” (spento), fare clic sul pulsante “Enable”
(Abilita) per attivare la funzione.

Nota: per i possessori del Pocket PC 2002, disabilitare la modalità di ricezione raggio
come descritto.
1. Fare clic su “Start Menu” (Menu di avvio) e su “Settings” (Impostazioni).
2. Selezionare “Connections” (Connessioni) e quindi “Beam” (Raggio).
3. Eliminare il segno di spunta dalla casella “Receive all incoming beams and
select discoverable mode” (Ricevi tutti i raggi in ingresso e seleziona la
modalità rilevabile), quindi selezionare “OK”. (Fig. 2)

Eliminazione della tastiera dal Pocket PC
1. Chiudere tutte le finestre attive del Pocket PC.
2. Disattivare la funzione di rotazione schermo togliendo il segno di spunta
dall’opzione “Screen Rotation” (Rotazione schermo” nella pagina di
configurazione “Wireless PDA Keyboard” (Tastiera wireless per PDA). Quindi,
eseguire un reset del Pocket PC come indicato dal manuale d’uso del PDA.
3. Andare alla pagina “Remove Programs” (Elimina programmi) nella sezione
“System” (Sistema) nel menu “Settings” (Impostazioni).
4. Selezionare “Wireless PDA Keyboard” (Tastiera wireless per PDA) e quindi
“Remove” (Elimina).
5. Selezionare “Yes” (Sì) quando compare il messaggio “Remove Program?”
(Eliminare il programma?).
Nota: per poter utilizzare la tastiera wireless per PDA in futuro, il software dovrà
essere installato di nuovo.
Installazione della tastiera nel Palm OS
Prima di installare il software, osservare le seguenti indicazioni:
•
Accertarsi che eventuali software per tastiera precedentemente installati nel
palmare siano stati disabilitati.
• Nel palmare devono essere previsti almeno 180 KB di memoria disponibile.
• E’ consigliabile eseguire una copia di backup di tutti i file presenti nel palmare
prima di procedere con l’installazione.
1. Inserire il CD di installazione della tastiera wireless per PDA nell’apposito drive
del proprio computer desktop, il programma di installazione viene lanciato
automaticamente. (In caso contrario, fare clic su “Start”, “Run” (Esegui) e
digitare il percorso del drive del CD-ROM.)
2. Scegliere l’opzione “Install the Palm software” (Installa il software del palmare)
nella finestra di dialogo di installazione che appare.
3. Compare una finestra di dialogo che consente di scegliere le periferiche da
installare. E’ necessario scegliere anche l’utente giusto per installare il software.
Dopo averlo fatto, fare clic su “OK”.

4. Chiudere tutte le applicazioni attive. Posizionare il palmare nell’alloggiamento
di sincronizzazione ed eseguire la sincronizzazione HotSync. Il software della
tastiera wireless per PDA sarà installato nel palmare.
5. Terminata l’operazione di sincronizzazione, il palmare può essere staccato
dall’alloggiamento.
6. Per lanciare la pagina di configurazione “Wireless PDA Keyboard”, selezionare
l’icona “Wireless PDA Keyboard” dal menu principale del palmare.
7. Lo stato “ON” indica che la funzione della tastiera è attiva. Se lo stato fosse
“OFF” (spento), premere il pulsante “Enable” (Abilita) per attivare la funzione.

Eliminazione della tastiera dal Palm OS
1. Portare la funzione “Screen Rotation” (Rotazione schermo) su 0° nella pagina
di configurazione “Wireless PDA Keyboard” (Tastiera wireless per PDA).
2. Chiudere tutte le applicazioni attive del palmare.
3. Aprire la barra menu e selezionare “Delete” dal menu secondario “App”
(Applicazioni)
4. Selezionare “Wireless PDA Keyboard” (Tastiera wireless per PDA) e quindi
“Delete” (Elimina) dalla pagina “Delete” (Elimina).
5. Premere “Yes” (Sì) in risposta al messaggio “Delete Application” (Elimina
applicazione) per confermare l’eliminazione del software.
Nota: per poter utilizzare la tastiera wireless per PDA in futuro, il software dovrà
essere installato di nuovo.

UTILIZZO DELLA TASTIERA
Impostazione della tastiera
1. Staccare la tastiera dal coperchio del supporto.
2. Tenere la tastiera e premere il pulsante di apertura. Appoggiarla su una
superficie piana.
3. Inserire la batteria:
a) Aprire l’alloggiamento della batteria previsto sopra la tastiera.
b) Inserire una pila di tipo AAA nell’apposito comparto, osservando la direzione
per un corretto posizionamento della pila, indicata dal segno “+” e “–”.
c) Chiudere l’alloggiamento della batteria
4. Estrarre il cavo di supporto in metallo sul retro del supporto ed appoggiarlo su
una superficie piana. Tirare e capovolgere il riflettore per posizionarlo verso la
porta a raggi infrarossi del PDA.
5. Posizionare il PDA sul supporto con la porta a raggi infrarossi sulla parte
posteriore.

UTILIZZO DELLA TASTIERA
Allineamento della tastiera
La tastiera rileva automaticamente i segnali dei raggi infrarossi dal PDA. Premere i
due tasti “Shift” sulla tastiera e attendere che un simbolo appaia sulla barra
degli strumenti del PDA. Questo simbolo sta ad indicare che la connessione è stata
impostata, che la tastiera rileva i segnali a infrarossi del PDA e che ci si trova ad
una distanza adatta a digitare. Se questo simbolo non dovesse apparire, far scorrere
la tastiera verticalmente e orizzontalmente per posizionarla correttamente. (Fig. 4)

Per evitare una digitazione errata dei tasti, accertarsi di posizionare la tastiera al di
fuori della distanza di ricezione dei raggi infrarossi, oppure disattivare il PDA prima
di chiudere la tastiera.

DIGITAZIONE CON LA TASTIERA
Digitazione dei caratteri minuscoli
Per digitare i caratteri minuscoli con la tastiera wireless per PDA, digitarli
semplicemente come si farebbe con una tastiera per computer standard.
Digitazione dei caratteri maiuscoli
Per digitare un carattere maiuscolo: premere il tasto “Shift” durante la digitazione
della lettera.
Per digitare una serie di caratteri maiuscoli: premere “Caps Lock”, tutte le altre
lettere saranno scritte in maiuscolo. Il simbolo
compare nell’angolo in basso a
destra dello schermo del PDA.
Per rilasciare il tasto “Caps Lock” è sufficiente premerlo di nuovo.
Digitazione di numeri e simboli
Per digitare un simbolo: come per la maggior parte delle tastiere, la tastiera
wireless per PDA, in corrispondenza dei tasti numerici in modalità maiuscola,
consente di digitare numerosi simboli comuni. Premere “Shift” ed il numero
corrispondente contemporaneamente: sul PDA viene digitato un simbolo.

CONFIGURAZIONE DEL SOFTWARE DELLA TASTIERA
Per accedere all’applicazione della tastiera, selezionare “Start” e “Wireless PDA
Keyboard” (Tastiera wireless per PDA) sul proprio palmare.
Abilita: in questo modo il driver della tastiera wireless per PDA accetta i caratteri
digitati.
Disabilita: in questo modo il driver viene disattivato. Ricordare di riabilitare la
tastiera prima di utilizzarla di nuovo.
Frequenza di ripetizione: determina la frequenza di ripetizione di un tasto tenuto
premuto continuamente.
Attesa fino alla ripetizione: determina l’intervallo di attesa che trascorre tra il
momento in cui un tasto viene tenuto premuto e in cui esso viene ripetuto.
Chiudi software tastiera (soltanto per utenti Pocket PC): durante la digitazione
sulla tastiera wireless per PDA sullo schermo compare una tastiera. Scegliere “Yes”
(Sì) per disabilitare questa funzione.
Fare clic su “Sound” (Suoni) per abilitare o disabilitare il clic sonoro dei tasti.
Perché questa funzione venga eseguita correttamente, è necessario attivare prima i
pulsanti sonori hardware del PDA.

CONFIGURAZIONE DEL SOFTWARE DELLA TASTIERA
Rotazione dello schermo
In alcuni PDA la porta a raggi infrarossi è prevista lateralmente, quindi è necessario
ruotare lo schermo per posizionare il PDA lateralmente sul supporto. Dopo aver
abilitato la funzione di rotazione dello schermo si può scegliere di ruotare lo
schermo di 0º, 90º, 180º, o 270º.
Le impostazioni possono essere semplicemente selezionate dalla pagina di
Configurazione, oppure utilizzando Fn , Fn
sulla tastiera per ruotare lo
schermo.
Per gli utenti di Pocket PC, durante la rotazione a 90º o 270º, si possono utilizzare
i tasti “ALT-PgUp” e “ALT-PgDn” per scorrere su e giù.
Nota: per abilitare questa funzione è necessario interrompere l’esecuzione di Pocket
PC. Se Pocket PC non dovesse funzionare correttamente dopo aver attivato la
rotazione dello schermo, interrompere Pocket PC per tornare al suo normale stato
operativo.
Nota: la funzione di rotazione dello schermo potrebbe non essere disponibile su tutti
i modelli di PDA. Visitate il nostro sito www.belkin.com per ulteriori informazioni
sulla più recente lista di compatibilità.
Area di prova: digitando in questa area si può testare il funzionamento della
tastiera wireless per PDA.

FUNZIONI SPECIALI DELLA TASTIERA (POCKET PC)
Dopo aver installato il software per tastiera wireless per PDA, il software gira
automaticamente e la tastiera può essere utilizzata in qualsiasi momento.
Terminata l’installazione, posizionare la porta a raggi infrarossi del proprio Pocket
PC verso la porta a raggi infrarossi della tastiera ed iniziare a digitare.

E’ possibile lanciare velocemente diverse applicazioni. Selezionare “Options”
(Opzioni) dal menu “File” della pagina di configurazione per lanciare la schermata
di assegnazione delle applicazioni. Si può facilmente scegliere il programma da
lanciare con diverse combinazioni di tasti. (Fig. 5 e Fig. 6)

Il tasto FaceBoard
Premendo il tasto Fn :-) si apre una finestra (Fig. 7) che contiene diversi simboli,
usati meno di frequente e simboli di punteggiatura, oltre alle tradizionali icone
“sorridenti” per i messaggi di e-mail. Per selezionare un simbolo si può agire sul
pulsante dello schermo o premere il rispettivo tasto illustrato sotto il pulsante
dello schermo.
Si può anche utilizzare un’opzione FaceBoard alternativa attivando la tastiera SIP a
video e selezionando FaceBoard come metodo di immissione dati. (Fig. 8)

Personalizzazione della FaceBoard
La FaceBoard può essere personalizzata con qualsiasi combinazione di simboli o
stringa di tasti.
Per configurare la FaceBoard
1. Premere “Edit” sullo schermo della FaceBoard per visualizzare lo schermo di
modifica. (Fig. 9)
2. Premere il tasto che si vuole ridefinire, compare una schermata di immissione
dati. (Fig. 10)
3. Digitare i caratteri o i simboli desiderati nella casella di modifica. La schermata
con la tastiera SIP può essere utilizzata per inserire i simboli speciali o i
caratteri internazionali.
4. Selezionare “OK” per confermare la modifica.
Per riportare la FaceBoard alle impostazioni originali, premere il pulsante “Default”
(Predefiniti) nella schermata di modifica. (Fig. 11)
