Sales confirm it: year after year Advantix® has become a real, important reference point for dog parasite control: in the Italian pet shops, it now represents nearly 40% of all dog spot-on products sold (data: IRI 2011).What does make Advantix® so successful? The answer is very simple: its complete formula that ensures total protection: - it protects from fleas, ticks, mosquitoes and phlebotomes; - it reduces the risk of vector borne diseases like leishmaniasis and other pathologies thanks to the repellent effect against ticks, mosquitoes and phlebotomes. All this in one product. Advantix® is the only parasite control product authorised by the Italian Ministry of Health that claims - in the information leaflet and box - the effective reduction of the risk of leishmaniasis as well as other dangerous pathologies like ehrlichiosis, borreliosis and rickettsiosis. PETSHOP PARTNERS. In short: given its specific characteristics, it is not by chance that Advantix® is Bayer’s key product and is therefore supported by massive advertising and communication campaigns aimed at all reference targets: pet shops, vets and dog owners. The petshop is, of course, Bayer’s main sales channel for Advantix®: for this reason a network of agents supplies specific technical and commercial support as well as marketing tools. Each year, for instance, the company supplies new, attractive material that helps the retailer sell Advantix® thanks to improved visibility and communication. Many are the options available, like: - floor displays, also with led lighting system; - elegant counter displays; - promotional totems that can be easily assembled and placed in the shop; - new Advantix® shoppers with attractive and emotional pictures that remind the TV promotional campaign; - light signs, stickers and brochures for the customers. WORKING WITH PETS. Also to veterinary doctors Bayer supplies strong support. First of all through an accurate and steady service of scientific information developed with a good network of veterinary informers that distribute high-level materials and information about parasites and canine vector borne diseases. Bayer has also organized the first online Web Leish Conference in the world; it was an international event held in Berlin: over 5,000 vets connected from 40 countries in the world had the chance to follow the conference “7th CVBD World Forum Symposium” and the discussion of clinical cases that the experts presented; the event was translated into 5 languages. A real global scientific event that produced a high number of live questions also from the over 1,000 Italian vets connected. CONSUMERS FRIENDS. Of course, Bayer devotes energies also to the end consumer - the dog owner. Advantix® is the character of a TV spot that informs and involves the dog owner’s feelings; “Let us tell you a story” is the title of the TV message that shows the story of Dolly, a nice she-dog with a black spot on the eye who was the protagonist of last year’s campaign, too - and her puppies. How did the idea of that new TV spot develop? Vimax Magazine asked it to Diego Gatti, Bayer Health Care Product Manager, who answered with enthusiasm: “The spot’s idea came from a very specific objective: to combine the communication of Advantix®’ technical qualities with a nice and moving story that explained how happy and pleased one can be when he’s sure that his pet is protected. For this reason the story takes place in a nice and warm children’s room: like a fairytale, it tells the story of children explaining the puppies how important it is to defend themselves against those “nasty” parasites, which are a real danger for their health. And when it comes to protect them against fleas, ticks, mosquitoes and phlebotomes, Advantix® cani possono trovare informazioni non solo sul prodotto, ma anche sui parassiti e sulle malattie da questi trasmesse con alcuni interessanti filmati.
